Paragraph on Pollution – 100 Words for Classes 1, 2, 3 Kids
Pollution is the addition of unwanted substances into the environment that can damage our Earth. There are 4 main types of Pollution; water pollution, air pollution, soil pollution, and noise pollution. All kinds of Pollution are a result of careless activities by man. We dump waste directly into water bodies, which results in water pollution. Air pollution is caused when vehicles release smoke into the atmosphere and make it difficult to breathe for all organisms. Soil pollution is caused by directly dumping our waste into landfills. Noise pollution is not visible, but it is a dangerous form of Pollution that can damage our ears.
Paragraph on Pollution – 150 Words for Classes 4, 5 Children
Pollution is a significant threat to our environment and is caused by the reckless attitude of man towards nature. Our Earth provides us with food and shelter, whereas we treat it mercilessly and plunder its resources. Pollution is a direct result of our greed. We dump waste into our water bodies without caring for the organisms living in them. The balance of various gases in the atmosphere has been disrupted because of the large number of vehicles plying on the road. Even factories that release harmful gases into the atmosphere contribute to air pollution. When we do excessive and uncontrolled farming on a piece of land, it loses its natural minerals. So, when we use fertilizers to boost their productivity, it pollutes the soil. Noise pollution is caused by factories, jets, airplanes, etc. It harms our ears and can impair hearing.
Paragraph on Pollution – 200 Words for Classes 6, 7, and 8 Students
Pollution has rattled the natural order of our ecosystems and has brought heavy consequences to Earth’s inhabitants. The major reason for Pollution is the unchecked and illegal activities that misuse natural resources and don’t follow guidelines set by the pollution control boards across the country. Anything that causes Pollution is known as a pollutant. It can be a solid, liquid, or even gas. No matter what state the pollutant is in, it can have devastating effects on our natural ecosystem if it is left unchecked.
Water pollution forms a major category of Pollution and has become an urgent crisis in many countries. We cannot survive without water. So, when most of the water bodies will dry up or get chocked, the human population will come to an end. The next big form of Pollution is air pollution. It is mainly caused by toxic exhumes from vehicles and the burning of coal for electricity.
Soil pollution is witnessing an unexpected rise in recent times owing to the mass deforestation and illegal farming activities in tropical forests. Another significant yet largely ignored form of Pollution is noise pollution. The high decibel noises coming out from jets and airplanes contribute to noise pollution. It damages our eardrums and, in extreme cases, causes deafness.
Paragraph on Pollution – 250 to 300 Words for Classes 9, 10, 11, 12 and Competitive Exams Students
The natural mechanisms of the Earth that had been functioning in sync since the formation of the Earth are lying in disarray. This can be attributed to the exploitation of natural resources by humans. We, occupying the topmost strata on the ecological pyramid, should be conscious of the environment. Pollution has been a burning issue for the last 100 years, but little has been done to take steps towards rebuilding our ecosystem and saving it from the brink of collapse.
The Earth is in continuous motion; the principles of nature teach us that we must never disrupt the harmony of the various levels of the ecosystem. Meddling with natural processes can have disastrous long term effects that will push the entire Earth towards mass destruction. Pollutants must be identified and effectively dealt with to pull off a last saving grace for the sake of our co-habitants. It must be kept in mind that pollutants are not always toxic substances. Any unwanted substance that can disrupt the functioning of a natural system can be categorized as a pollutant.
Some pollutants don’t have any shape or size. For example, temperature rise in our atmosphere by a few degrees for a short time will not have any significant effect, but the same amount of rising in temperature in a water body will kill the thermo-sensitive organisms. Here, the temperature is a pollutant for the water body. There are certain invisible pollutants, too, like noise. Noise pollution wasn’t even recognized as a form of Pollution until the late 1970s. In 1972 it was recognized as a significant form of Pollution by the United States’ Pollution Control Board. Noise pollution is the trickiest to deal with, as it has no specific guidelines. Your neighbor partying in the middle of the night with stereos blasting music at a dangerously high level also falls under noise pollution. A deep sense of responsibility towards nature and empathy for all the organisms residing on Earth will go a long way in saving our planet from destruction.

Pollution of the environment is a serious problem of industrialized societies. Industrial development and the green revolution have had a negative impact on the environment. People have converted the life support system of all living people into their own resources and have greatly disrupted the natural ecological balance. Serious degradation and depletion have been caused due to overuse, abuse and mismanagement of resources to meet human greed.
Environmental pollution is defined as the adverse alteration of our environment. It is a by-product of human activities that are directly or indirectly responsible for the changes in the environment. These changes could be in the physical, chemical or biological characteristics of air or water that are harmful to human life and other living things. Population explosion, rapid industrialization, deforestation, unplanned urbanization, scientific and technological advancement, etc. The main causes of environmental pollution. About 35% of India's total area is seriously polluted. Three-quarters of the land is water, but there is a shortage of drinking water. In India, water sources are found in ponds and river lakes have been polluted and are unfit for consumption. Due to the increased use of fertilizers, seas and oceans have been contaminated with harmful pollutants.
The industrialization has led to urbanization. The migration of the rural population to cities in search of work has created an unhealthy environment. This has led to overcrowding and the establishment of slum areas. Cities and cities are full of smoke, smoke, dust, gas, smell and noise.
Nuclear explosions and nuclear tests also pollute the air. The spread of radioactive material in the air has increased. This radioactive pollution can cause cancer, abnormal births and mutations in men.
The Taj Mahal in Agra is affected by the fumes emitted by the Mathura refinery. The reports estimate that the monument would be destroyed in twenty years because of the harmful effluents from the refinery's emissions.
Water pollution changes the quality of the water. This disrupts the balance of the ecosystem and poses health risks. Water is polluted by the presence or addition of inorganic and organic or biological substances. Industrial effluents that are discharged into rivers further increase the levels of water pollution.
Soil pollution usually results from the elimination of solid and semi-solid wastes from agricultural practices and unhealthy habits. The soil is heavily polluted by hazardous materials and micro-organisms that enter the food chain or water and create many health problems.
The present issue is that it is increasing day by day as a result of many polluting sources. Humans and human-created machines are of contaminants. To put it another way, pollution is wreaking havoc on Mother Earth, and we, as humans, must do everything we can to prevent it. Pollution prevention is critical because it protects the environment by conserving and protecting natural resources while also boosting economic growth by allowing industry to produce more efficiently and reducing the amount of waste that needs to be handled by households, businesses, and communities.

The release of such air pollutants in heavy concentrations such as smog, particulates, solid materials, etc., are getting settled over the city, causing air pollution and health hazards. Many dirty wastes are produced by people daily, especially in the big cities polluting the whole atmospheric air to a great extent.
The release of gaseous pollutants from burning fuel of motor vehicles, industrial processes, burning of garbage, etc., are contributing to the air pollution. Some natural pollutants like pollen, dust, soil particles, natural gases, etc., are also sources of air pollution.

Air Pollution Essay 3 (200 words)
Air pollution is one of the main environmental issues nowadays. There are many reasons behind regularly increasing this air pollution. Most air pollution is caused by automobiles, transport means, industrialization, growing cities, etc. The release of several harmful gases or dangerous elements from such sources is causing whole atmospheric air pollution. The ozone layer is also getting affected too much by air pollution, which causes serious disturbances to the environment. The increasing need of the ever-growing human population is the main cause of pollution. Daily human being activities causing dangerous chemicals to release, making the atmosphere dirtier than ever and forcing climate change negatively.
The industrialization process releases harmful gases, particles, paint, and batteries containing lead; cigarettes release carbon monoxide, and transport means release CO2 and other toxic substances into the atmosphere. All the pollutants are in contact with the atmosphere, destroying the ozone layer and calling harmful sun rays to the earth. In order to reduce the level of air pollution, we should bring some huge changes to our habits on a daily basis. We should not cut trees, use public transportation, avoid spray cans, and do so many activities to reduce the effects of air pollution.
Air Pollution Essay 4 (250 words)
Air pollution is the mixing of foreign substances into the whole atmospheric air. Harmful and toxic gases emitted by industries and motor vehicles cause huge damage to living organisms, whether plants, animals, or human beings. Some of the natural and various human resources are causing air pollution. However, most air pollution sources stem from human activities like burning fossil fuels, coal, and oil and releasing harmful gases and substances from factories and motor vehicles. Harmful chemical compounds like carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, solid particles, etc., are getting mixed into the fresh air. The level of air pollution has increased greatly because of the 690% increase in damaging pollutants because of the expanded need for motor vehicles in the last century.
Another source of air pollution is the decomposition of garbage in landfills and the disposal of solid wastes emitting methane gas (dangerous to health). The rapid growth of population, industrialization, and increased use of automobiles, airplanes, etc., have made this issue a serious environmental problem. The air we breathe every moment is full of pollutants going to our lungs and whole body through blood, causing uncountable health problems. Therefore polluted air is causing damage to plants, animals, and human beings in many direct and indirect ways. If the environmental protection policies are not followed seriously and strictly, the increasing level of air pollution may increase to one million tons annually in recent decades.
Air Pollution Essay 5 (300 words)
When the fresh air gets polluted by means of dust, toxic gases, smoke, motor vehicles, mills, factories, etc. called air pollution. As we all know that fresh air is the most important element of a healthy life, we need to think that what happens if the whole atmospheric air gets dirty. First, air pollution is a matter of great regret for the whole human fraternity. Some of the big reasons for air pollution are poisonous fertilizers, insecticides, and pesticides in the agricultural sectors by innocent farmers to increase crop production. Released chemicals and hazardous gases (ammonia) from fertilizers are getting mixed into the fresh air and causing air pollution.
The burning of fossil fuels such as coal and petroleum and other factory combustibles are the major causes of air pollution. A variety of smoke emissions from the automobiles, such as cars, buses, motorcycles, trucks, jeeps, trains, airplanes, etc., are also causing air pollution. An increasing number of industries are causing the release of toxic industrial smokes and harmful gases (like carbon monoxide, organic compounds, hydrocarbons, chemicals, etc.) from the factories and mills to the environment. Some indoor activities of the people, like innocent use of cleaning products, washing powders, paints, etc., emit various toxic chemicals into the air.
The ever-increasing level of air pollution also enhances its harmful effects on the health of living beings. Air pollution is causing global warming to increase because of increasing atmospheric temperature due to the increasing level of greenhouse gases. Such greenhouse gases again cause greenhouse effect and force sea levels to increase, glaciers to melt, weather to change, climate to change, etc. Increasing air pollution is causing many lethal diseases (cancer, heart attack, asthma, bronchitis, kidney diseases, etc.) and death. Various important animal and plant species have been destroyed completely from this planet. The increasing level of harmful gases in the environment is causing the occurrence of acid rain and depleting the ozone layer.

Air Pollution Essay 6 (400 words)
The increasing concentration of harmful and toxic materials in the fresh air of the atmosphere is causing air pollution. Various foreign particles, toxic gases, and other pollutants released from various human activities are affecting the fresh air, which has an adverse effect on living beings like humans, animals, and plants. Air pollution levels depend on the type and amount of pollutants released from various sources. Topographical and meteorological conditions are increasing the spread and concentration of pollutants. Therefore variety of raw materials used in the manufacturing process in industries is increasing the type and quantum of emissions of harmful gases. Increasing population density is demanding the need for more industrialization, which ultimately causes air pollution.
Air Pollutants like harmful liquid droplets, solids particulates, and toxic gases (oxides of carbon, halogenated and non-halogenated hydrocarbons, nitrogen and sulfur gases, suspended inorganic particulate matters, inorganic and organic acids, bacteria, viruses, insecticides, etc.) which are generally not the constituents of fresh air are very hazardous to the plant and animal life. There are two types of air pollution sources which are natural sources and man-made sources. Some natural sources of air pollution are volcanic eruptions, volcanoes (ashes, carbon dioxide, smokes, dust, and other gases), deflation of sands, dust, salts spray from seas and ocean, soil particles, storms, forest fires, cosmic particles, rays, the bombardment of asteroid materials, comets, pollen grains, fungal spores, viruses, bacteria, etc.
However Man-made sources of air pollution are industries, agriculture, power plants, automobiles, domestic sources, etc. Some of the air pollutants from man-made sources are smoke, dust, fumes, particulate matter, gases from the kitchen, domestic heating, emissions from different vehicles, use of insecticides, pesticides, herbicides, and the heat created from power plants, smokes, fly ash, etc. Because of the increasing number of air pollutants, it has divided into two types: primary and secondary pollutants. Primary pollutants directly affect the fresh air and emitted from smoke, ash, dust, fumes, mist, spray, inorganic gases, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, hydrogen sulphide, ammonia, nitric oxide, and radioactive compounds. Secondary pollutants indirectly affect the air by chemical interactions with the primary pollutants and other atmospheric constituents such as sulphur-trioxide, ozone, hydrocarbons, nitrogen dioxide, etc.
The get-together effort of human beings all over the world may help in controlling the level of air pollution. Establishment of industrial estates should away from residential areas, motivate use of tall chimneys instead of small, promote the use of high-temperature incinerators. However use of non-combustive sources of energy, promote the use of non-lead antiknock agents in the gasoline, promote re-plantation and so many positive efforts.

One of the most critical threats faced by our planet in the present day scenario. Environmental pollution is a global issue affecting people around the world. It is occurring in different forms, whether by affecting the air we breathe or the water resources we utilise for several purposes. Air pollution came into being with an increase in the level of carbon dioxide, with the increase in pollutants which are contaminating the air and causing breathing discomfort as well as skin diseases to human beings. Talking about the other aspect, there is no life without water. The water bodies are polluting and becoming unsafe for drinking or any other use because of industrial development, rapid urbanisation and various other reasons. Due to air pollution, diseases that can occur to human beings are asthma, various skin diseases, cancer, etc. Therefore, it is the essential need of the hour to take serious steps to reduce pollution to its core. At a personal level, we can minimise environmental pollution by taking public transport or carpools to reduce vehicular smoke, avoiding firecrackers at festivals and celebrations can also cut down on air and noise pollution, not using fertilisers and pesticides which can cause both water and soil pollution, and switching over to organic farming. The government can also bring strict rules and regulations to lessen industrial pollution. To sum up, any type of pollution is harmful to the environment with serious consequences like global warming, uneven climatic changes, etc. Due to our greediness and illegal human activities, the innocent lives of animals are lost. The time has come to join our hands and work towards preserving and protecting the environment for the present as well as future generations.

This site intends to provide you with the relevant information and tips and tactics for writing an effective pollution essay.
Essay on Pollution in English
When toxic pollutants are added to our environment , this process is known as pollution. It makes the surroundings harmful for both living beings and plants. Pollution is the result of human activities, whether done unintentionally or deliberately. It has become a significant issue worldwide. Pollution leads to defective childbirths and high mortality rates in many parts of the world. It contaminates natural things like water, air, soil, and so on, harmful to humans and animals.
The pollutants that mix in the air directly affect living beings while breathing it gets into their bodies. Water pollutants are hazardous for living beings as well. Manufacturing and construction units are the prime sources of water pollution. People living near manufacturing factories often bear the consequences of water pollution, noise pollution, and air pollution.
The sad reality is that humans are the ones who are intentionally polluting the environment. It isn’t easy in today’s world to get an utterly pollution-free world. But there is a way to decrease the level of pollution around us by controlling our activities, causing pollution.
Short Article on Pollution
Pollution is the toxins that mix in the natural environment and harm both human beings and animals. Plants also get affected by pollution. There are many forms of pollution, like air, water, soil, and noise pollution. However, there are other forms of pollution, light pollution, radioactive pollution, and so on. Natural and human activities both contribute to pollution. Volcanic eruptions or oil and gas leakage can cause pollution.
Human activities cause most of the pollution. It is because of the commercialization of natural things. Humans turn many natural things into human-made things to satisfy their needs. We use more than our needs, which adversely affects nature. The gases from vehicles and factories pollute the air. The land and water are polluted by solid garbage from factories, households, and so on. In rural areas, agricultural wastes, pesticides cause pollution. The noise pollution is caused by the massive sound of music, vehicles, and machinery. The pollution also leads to global warming.
We cannot completely remove pollution, but we can surely reduce it by implementing a few preventive measures.
To increase oxygen in the air and make the air pure, we must plant trees on a large level. We should use natural things judiciously. We have to understand the difference between need and want. To decrease the level of land and water pollution, we must avoid using plastic bags. We should use vehicles less to decrease air pollution and noise pollution. We should maintain a proper drainage system to protect the water from getting polluted. We cannot stop natural activities, but we can control our actions. If we do so, we can minimize the impacts of pollution in nature.

Article on Pollution in 120 Words
The addition of unwanted substances into the environment that can damage our Earth is called pollution. There are four main types of Pollution; air pollution, water pollution, soil pollution, and noise pollution. The careless activities carried out by humans leads to pollution. Air pollution is caused by vehicles that release smoke in the air and contaminate it, making it difficult for organisms to breathe. Water pollution is caused by dumping waste directly into water bodies. This affects the organisms living in the water as well. We dump waste directly into water bodies, which results in water pollution. When we dump waste into landfills, it results in soil pollution. Noise pollution is invisible, but it is hazardous to our ears.
Article on Pollution in 150 Words
Pollution is a threat to our environment and the living organisms in it. It is quite sad that pollution is caused by the irresponsible actions of man towards nature. Our Earth provides us with food and shelter, whereas we exploit its resources for fulfilling our selfish needs. We become greedy and start using natural resources impulsively without considering its consequences. We contaminate the water bodies by throwing waste into it, which harms the water bodies’ organisms. We have disrupted the natural balance of various gases in the atmosphere by contaminating it with the vehicles plying on the roads. Even manufacturing factories that release harmful gases into the atmosphere contribute to air pollution. When we use pesticides and fertilizers and do excessive farming on a piece of land, the soil on the land loses its natural minerals. Noise pollution can result in loss of hearing due to loud noises produced by factories, jets, airplanes, and other vehicles. It damages our ears.
Article on Pollution Control
Pollution makes the environment dirty, unhealthy, and unsuitable for humans and animals to live. It is caused due to the release of both tangible and intangible contaminants. These can be released naturally or by humans themselves intentionally or unintentionally. Due to toxic pollutants, more than 200 million people are affected. Few countries have defected childbirth and an increase in the death rates. Humans are regularly exposed to pollution when they inhale toxic air inside them.
Pollution cannot be eliminated but can be controlled. Promoting the green environment, proper disposal of waste, and encouraging people to plant more trees are simple steps that emphasize maintaining the order of the environment.
We can take a few preventive measures to control pollution. We should plant trees to curb polluted air and release more oxygen to make it pure. We should always switch off electrical equipment when we aren’t using it. We should use natural energy rather than electric energy. We should use recyclable products whenever possible. We should avoid the use of plastic bags and use paper bags. We should also not waste paper and use both sides of the paper.
We should restrict the usage of hazardous chemicals. We should avoid overusing heaters and air conditioners. Use public transport to reduce noise, air, and light pollution. To control air pollution, we must stop burning crackers during marriages, Diwali, and other festivals.
Article on Water Pollution
Water pollution has many definitions. Generally, it means one or more harmful substances have built up in water to such an extent that they cause problems for animals or people. Oceans, lakes, rivers, and other inland waters can naturally clean up a certain amount of pollution. A small amount of contamination is easily dealt with by the water bodies. However, large amounts of chemical and harmful substances cannot be cleaned by the water bodies independently. This, in turn, could affect the health of all the plants, animals, and humans whose living depends on the river. Thus, water pollution is all about quantities.
Water pollution almost always means that some damage has been done to an ocean, river, lake, or another water source. Damage from water pollution is often reversible.
The most obvious type of water pollution affects surface waters. For example, a spill from an oil tanker creates an oil slick that can affect a vast ocean area.
Underground rock holds a great deal of water known as aquifers, which cannot be seen. Water stored underground in aquifers is known as groundwater. Aquifers feed our rivers and supply much of our drinking water. They can become polluted, for example, when we use pesticides in agriculture activities and drain into the ground. Groundwater pollution is much less obvious than surface-water pollution but is no less of a problem.
Pollution affects surface waters and groundwater both.

Article on Noise Pollution
Noise pollution is a form of pollution that affects the hearing ability of organisms. This pollution is increasing only and creates an unsafe environment. When the level of noise increases more than the normal level, it leads to noise pollution. When the amount of noise exceeds, it becomes dangerous for living beings. Moreover, these unpleasant sounds cause several disturbances and create an imbalance in the environment.
In other words, high volume noises are abnormal. Along with the advancement of the world, noise pollution is increasing. Technology has made things easier for people by creating appliances and devices for almost everything. However, people don’t realize this comfort comes with negative consequences. All technological appliances contribute to noise pollution. They disturb the natural rhythm of life and fall into the category of a pollutant.
Similarly, the increasing use of automobiles is a major cause of this noise pollution. Not only automobiles but also other transport vehicles like airplanes, buses, bikes, trucks, and more are also part of it. Unnecessary honking in the traffic and listening to loud music on the way produce high levels of noise.
Furthermore, social events like marriages, parties, and religious functions in places like clubs, pubs, temples, and halls also produce high noise levels. Also, construction activities like mining, the building of flyovers, bridges, and more create great noise.
Article on Plastic Pollution
Plastic is everywhere nowadays. It has become the most used substance. People are using it endlessly just for their comfort. However, no one realizes how it is harming our planet. Everyone needs to be aware of the consequences of using plastics. Also, the government must take strict measures to stop plastic pollution before it gets too late.
The main reason for the increase in the use of plastic is that it is very cheap. It costs less than other alternatives like paper and cloth. This is why it is so common. Secondly, it is very easy to use. Plastic can be used for almost anything, either liquid or solid. Also, it comes in different forms, which we can easily mold into anything.
Furthermore, we see that plastic is a non-biodegradable material. We cannot dissolve plastic in land or water. Thus, more and more use of plastic means more plastic, which won’t get dissolved. Thus, the increase in plastic pollution is happening at a very rapid rate.
Answer: Pollution is the contamination of pollutants and toxins in the natural environment and makes it hazardous for both people and creatures. Plants likewise get affected by contamination.
Answer: Pollutants can contaminate air, water, and soil. Likewise, noise pollution is another type of pollution created by excessive noise and can harm human and animal ears. However, there are other forms of pollution, light pollution, radioactive pollution, etc.
Answer: Yes. We can prevent pollution by taking measures of prevention. The activity performed by nature and humans causes pollution. We can’t control natural activities, but we can control our actions that cause pollution.
Answer: Pollution affects all living beings, from animals to human beings. Plants are also affected by pollution. Young children and older people are more vulnerable to the effects of pollution.
Answer: The consequences of pollution could make muddy landscapes, poisons soils and waterways, or kill plants and animals. Humans are also affected by pollution and become a victim of many diseases. Long-term exposure to air pollution, for example, can lead to chronic respiratory disease, lung cancer, and other diseases.
