'Kantara' movie review: Rishab Shetty delivers a compelling and rooted film

'Kantara' movie review: Rishab Shetty delivers a compelling and rooted film

Conflicts between man and nature have always provided enough fodder for our filmmakers to dole out one film after the other. Rishab Shetty’s Kantara, though dealing with the same concept, strives to be original and wins at it by staying rooted and realistic.

Even in his previous films, Ricky and Sa.Hi.Pra Shaale, Rishab expressed his flair for telling stories of the coastal belt of Karnataka. With Kantara, he further goes deep into the woods to talk about safeguarding forests even while delivering a compelling revenge-action drama with a blend of crime and divinity.

Kantara is set in a fictional village of Dakshina Kannada, and begins in the 18th century when a king exchanges a piece of land with his people and moves on to find peace and happiness. Centuries later, the same land becomes a threat to the tribals of that area., but they believe their demigods, doubling up as their guardians, protect the village. The story shifts to the 90s, and we see the face-off between villagers who dwell in the forests, and the forest officer who wants to clear any encroachment in the area.

Shiva (Rishab Shetty) lives a carefree life with his friends, and is often at loggerheads with forest officer Murali (Kishore), who just wants to uphold the law of the land. We also have a politician Devendra Suttur (Achyuth Kumar), whose misdeeds become his identity. But there is a bigger evil at work, and Kantara is about Shiva’s struggle to bring justice to the people of the village.

The film ends with an outstanding climax, which is definitely the USP of Kantara. There are multiple viewpoints in Kantara, and it is all wonderfully brought together by Rishab, who has written and directed the film too.

Rishab is only getting better with each film, and the backing of Hombale Films has allowed the filmmaker to make the movie more realistic. Even though it runs on the familiar territory of human-nature conflict, the chapters of Bhoota kola and Kambala make it unique. Every frame of the film is beautiful. DOP Aravind Kashyap lights up Kantara in vivid shades, and with able support from art director Dharani Gange Putra, gives Kantara a rather natural look.

Kantara also explores some serious issues like caste discrimination. While there is no separate comedy track, there are enough quirks in some of the characters to add to the fun quotient. The film brings in crisp narration, and extra credit should be given to the well-orchestrated action sequences.

Composer Ajaneesh Loknath is marvellous in Kantara. While his folk melodies are soothing, the background score accentuates the narrative of Kantara.

Rishab, the actor, is outstanding as Shiva, and breathes life into this rather unconventional character. He has undergone a mass and intense transformation for the role, and the effects are evident. Rishab’s performance in the nail-biting climax will definitely make the audience cheer and applaud for him. Sapthami Gowda as forest guard Leela, who is also Shiva’s love interest, delivers a decent performance in Kantara. Kishore and Achyuth too give powerful performances, and it is a joy to watch the former’s intense ego clashes with Shiva. Manasi Sudhir, Pramod Shetty and Prakash Thuminad too are decent with their acts.

With Kantara, Rishab once again creates magic, both as a director and an actor, and delivers an entertainer with a strong social message, and an even stronger final act.

In the background, we can hear the narrator saying, “Light! In light everything is visible. But this is not light, it is a vision.” As Rishab stares at the full moon, the narrator adds, “The light which illuminates the past and future. Is it visible?” Cut to a frame which reads, “During the reign of Kadambas”—the ancient royal family of Karnataka — “a legend was born.” We also get a glimpse of Rishab Shetty's character. Before going in for the movie, I'd read rave reviews about how amazing the theatre experience was, and later about a few problematic aspects of the film. I usually try to avoid reviews and go in fresh for the film myself, but this time since I caught the film on the literal last day of the Kannada version show, I couldn't avoid the reviews and articles about the film. After watching the film, what bothered me the most was how everyone seemed to downplay the problematic aspects of the film; there was a lot that just never sat right with me from the start. I am not the biggest advocate of the "but everything else in the movie was fine"…

Man o Man.. Rishabh Shetty simply nails it, delivering a fascinating mix of myth n masala. If his writing-direction was terrific, he takes the game a further notch up with his show stealing thunderous performance. The narrative seamlessly blends mythological folklore and rooted native culture, absorbing one straightaway into its world and keeping engaged all through. Amping up the excitement even more are it’s spectacular action sequences, visuals and soundtrack. It raises intensity during the pre climax and wraps things up with goosebump loaded final few minutes, making it one hell of a big screen theatrical experience. Highly recommended.

"WHHHHHOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAA!" No, this is not only my reaction after watching this film but also the soul of the movie. I am once again reminded of Vetrimaaran - "The more ethnic you become, the more international your film becomes." Rishabh Shetty hits it out of the park with his terrific acting, writing and direction. Taking Tulu culture at its peak on the big screen. The last 20 minutes terrified me and I couldn't believe what I just witnessed. Already getting widely acclaimed, this is going to be one of best and most talked about kannada cinema for days to come. Definitely watch it in theaters if you have the chance (in kannada with Eng Subtitles) honestly, you would be amazed, terrified and in awe.

Very disappointed with this given how good the word of mouth for this is. Doesn't live upto the tone it sets in the opening sequence which was so good (though the major element from it is recurring, expected more along those lines). The sound for this movie has to be the worst part, may it be the demigod's voice or the background score, genuinely would've dozed off if this wasn't so ear-fuckingly loud. Not all bad tho, Rishab Shetty's performance and directing, production design and action sequences were great. Don't think it has much rewatch value or a first time watch value at home, similar to KGF, it's best to get whatever you can out of it in theatres.

The most exhilarating theatre high I experienced at the movies this year was during the last 20 minutes of this magnificent piece of art. The music and score bangs so hard and the third act is absolute bonkers!! Rishab Shetty shines both as a director and actor, but the director in him peaked during the Buta Kola scenes.

The lesser spoken about how the romance takes off (bad bad bad writing there), the better. Very very problematic. Otherwise, Folklore horror, myth, legend, faith and anti-feudalism rolled in one.

Sudhakar Kumar

The film is a treat to the eyes and ears. There is no way you could stray away from the screen, not even momentarily.

Kantara is a kinetic, cinematic experience as Rishab Shetty shows off his talents as a filmmaker, actor and storyteller, creating stunning visuals with the help of cinematographer Arvind Kashyap; no other film of this year could match its sheer intensity.

The film unfolds like a folktale. Folktales are one of the powerful ways of telling stories. There is a constant shift in mood in the film and Ajaneesh’s background score, at every turn of the plot, is dipped in authenticity. It reminds one of the great short story of Leo Tolstoy: How Much Land Does a Man Need?

Watch Kantara in theatres, because this is a film made for the theatre.

watching Kantara , i am able to truly appreciate contemporary tamil cinema for the absolute revelation that it is, and this is not cheap slight. while there is a semblance of good cinema in Kantara , it largely reflects default nouvelle vague kannada cinema, decent textbook form alongside a stubborn (and ugly) insistence on hindu metaphysics, which begs the question, should this cinema be figured as any 'new wave' at all, an endeavour for another time.

doing my little research dance on Bhootha Kola and the related cosmo-mythology, i have come to understand the ritual is not entirely puranic hindu, Wikipedia even calling it 'deeply dravidian', either way, this changes very little. whatever is obscured, remains obscured. this age, when the violent…

Aside from the genuinely thrilling last couple of minutes, this is the most overrated film I have seen all year. Seriously? This is what so many people are losing their shit over?

Idk what the pandemic has done to Indian audiences' cinema taste. Genuinely do appreciate that regional films are getting more and more attention all over the country now, it's been a long time coming, but after a point it just becomes a bandwagon; a cool quotient to follow and get social media points over. A lot of films do justify their "pan-India" hype, but this is definitely not one of those by any stretch.

A completely hollow, boring, generically made middle portion of 2 hours made slightly better by the fascinating, well-made beginning and ending.

Seems like Rishab Shetty loved Raj B Shetty's Shiva name in Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana and not only took that name but also the madness of destruction associated with that name... if you thought Kannada Cinema peaked at the Sojugada Soojumallige trance of dance in GGVV , wait for the ending of Kantara ... a literal as well as figuratively god level awakening of masssss mentalsssss Commercial Cinema and a statement on what more you can do in the same template when you play with the form and build up to it superbly... asal burra paadddddd madddddddnesssssss aa ending aithe... theatre lo aa visuals ki chematekki vanukochhi sachhipothe evardi ayyaa responsibility?

How 'Kantara – A Legend' delivered divine experience depicting Samskriti and Sanskar of Bharat

Kantara beautifully captures the importance of reclaiming that sacred balance between mother nature and human activity while delving into our own traditions and samskriti

How 'Kantara – A Legend' delivered divine experience depicting Samskriti and Sanskar of Bharat

Seldom do we have a cinematic experience that invigorates the divinity in us and makes our head bow in reverence to the spiritual prowess of our land called Bharat. Such an experience is so overwhelming that our hands automatically fold and tears of ecstasy roll down our cheeks in submission to the divinity portrayed on the screen. Such an overwhelming experience is one to savour.

Cinema as an art form breaches all peripherals when it amalgamates with spirituality. The amalgamation of cinema and spirituality begets a cinematic experience that leaves the audience awestruck. That is the experience of very powerful cinema that can single-handedly raise the collective consciousness of society. When collective consciousness is infused with creative consciousness it has an exponential effect. Such a rise in collective consciousness is a sign of divinity.

One such movie that appears to have the blessings of the divine in order to raise the collective consciousness is Kantara – A Legend . Kantara is everything that is beautiful about our land called Bharat. From our samskriti to our traditions, from our love for nature to our collectivist society, from our spiritual heritage to our divine experiences, from our belief systems to our village heritage, and from reverence for our protectors to the rich Samskriti we have inherited. Watching Kantara is a divine experience. The movie can be further analyzed from two perspectives, one is the significance of tradition and the other is the cinematic experience. Let’s understand some of the finer aspects of the movie.

Kantara is a full embracement of our Samskriti and Sanskar. It is an unapologetic portrayal of our heritage and traditions. A movie such as Kantara has set a high benchmark for all filmmakers to follow. Kantara upholds our rich heritage, our timeless traditions and respects the sanctity and sacredness of every ritual which is local and time tested. It also displays the indissoluble relationship between villagers and the nature which they worship. Nature worship is in the intrinsic nature of our rural lives. In our Samskriti there is a holy bond between man and nature.

Since eternity we have had concepts of sacred forests and sacred water bodies protected by local deities. Nature worshiping specifically around forests and rivers is an integral part of the Hindu way of life. The same has been expressed beautifully in the movie. It’s an unapologetic Hindu way of telling the story. The world in reality wants to watch the stories of our great Samskriti, Samskar and Sabhyata but over the years we have been copying the west not just blindly but foolishly also and hence never succeeded in the same.

Kantara breaks this stereotype and presents us a local tradition in the most beautiful way. The tradition of Bhoota Kola practiced in the coastal regions of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala has a rich history. The tradition is performed by selected people who in an Avatar are believed to have become ‘Daiva’ or ‘Devta’ themselves. People hold the tradition in high reverence. Never before has a movie touched upon the tradition and portrayed it on the big screen with such finesse. By the end of the movie, one not only relates to the tradition in all earnestness but is also overwhelmed by the divinity portrayed on screen. This is not just a case with one or two individuals but an entire theatre that resonated with the message conveyed by the filmmakers. There was a feeling of pride for our samskriti after watching the movie.

The ‘Varaha Roopam’ depicted in the movie stays with the audience long after the movie finishes and the reverence for our Samskriti and tradition increases multifold. Our tradition such as Bhoota Kola which is sometimes discarded as mere superstition is held in the highest of glory by the filmmaker. Such a portrayal shatters all pseudo narratives around the tradition and makes our Samskriti and Sabhyata shine in all their glory.

From the filmmaking point of view, the film is a magnum opus. Every frame in the film is an ode to the heritage and traditions of Tulunadu, from Kambala to Yakshagana to Bhoota Kola, every aspect of tradition and local samskriti is sensitively depicted in the movie with complete sanctity and respect it deserves. The movie is shot in raw locations which gives a real life experience of the tradition and its practices. The music of the movie syns up beautifully with the story telling. The song ‘Varaha Roopam’ will definitely give you goosebumps. The scenes of ‘Daiva’ or the protector of the local people are the strongest. It sets the right tone for the movie. The set pieces as well as the cinematography is top-notch. Even the fighting sequences are beautifully choreographed. The movie entails an interesting viewing.

The story shows the importance of Samnvaya between locals and government endeavours for the protection of the local rituals, and customs of people living in forests and nature itself. Another aspect to marvel at is the deep research involved in making the movie as raw and realistic as possible. Every detail is properly researched. The type of drink which locals take, the costumes, the native sport (Kambala) they play, the flowers they use for the puja, their tree houses and huts, the equipment they use for forest interactions as well as their general parlance is all captured in its raw form after thorough research. The movie is so well-researched and executed that it might put even Hollywood filmmakers to shame.

But above all, Kantara is a one-man show and that man is Rishab Shetty. He is the writer, director and protagonist in the movie. Brilliant direction, enthralling storytelling and marvellous acting.  In fact, the acting performance is by far the best by any actor this year. I can safely say that Rishab Shetty’s last 20 minutes performance is not mere acting, it appeared as a divine manifestation. Hands folded automatically when Shiva transformed into the Divine Daiva, that sacred was the impact. Rishab Shetty has immortalized himself in Bharatiya cinema with his performance in Kantara – The Legend .

Kantara explores the power of soft power in the truest sense. Also, as I have always said that every story needs to end on a positive note, even Natyashastra speaks about ‘Sukhant’, Kantara ends on a hopeful note, suggesting a harmonious engagement and collaboration between society and the state to find sustainable solutions to the various conflicts including the human - nature clash. The movie also teaches an important lesson that we as people need to look inwards for solutions to all our problems rather than look out, the traditional way of having communities as custodians of the environment and the ruler being a mere facilitator instead of obstruction is the most sustainable solution which has also worked since ages.

Kantara beautifully captures the importance of reclaiming that sacred balance between mother nature and human activity while delving into our own traditions and samskriti . Kantara is truly a once-in-a-generation movie. There is a huge demand not just natively but across the world to view Bharatiya Samskriti, Sanskar and Sabhyata through a cinematic medium. Kantara does just that. The movie is authentic to the core. The authenticity of music, background score, accent, language, captures human emotions and heritage almost perfectly. It is so perfect that all in all, Kantara can be rightly called a divine manifestation of our Samskriti and Sanskar !

The first look shows Rishab standing in the middle of a circle as he looks towards a light. The narrator can be heard saying, “Light. Everyone can see everything in light. But this is not light, this is vision. Vision of what has happened, what is happening and what is going to happen, the light that shows everything. Can you see it?” The video then shows a person soaked in blood and sporting long, curly hair and a beard. He holds a Trishul in hand and looks up to show his face and fiery eyes. The story appears to go back to the reign of the Kadamba Dynasty, the ancient, royal family of Karnataka.

Sharing the teaser, the production house tweeted, “Step into the land of the divine. Presenting #KantaraChapter1 First Look & #Kantara1Teaser in 7 languages.” After the teaser dropped, actor Prithviraj Sukumaran reacted, “So looking forward to this one Rishab!” On the other hand, netizens went gaga over the intense and divine experience in the short clip. A user reacted, “Confirmed.....This movie will recognise Indian cinema on the global stage.” The second user wrote, “It's Not Teaser It's Pure Emotion And Goosebumps.” “ Blockbuster loading”, “History in the making” and “terrific” were some of the other comments on the teaser. Meanwhile, Kantara gained popularity globally last year with its folklore-based storytelling that explored the intricate connection between humanity and nature.

Kantara Movie Facts

A Roaring Prelude

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Hombale Films (@hombalefilms)

The saga began with the signature roar heard nationwide in 2022, where Kantara unfolded a magical yet realist tale of human-nature conflict in the woodlands of Kaadubettu, Karnataka. Death became the harbinger of war, and a rebel named Shiva emerged to defend his village and nature. The film, made on a budget of Rs 16 crore, transcended boundaries, collecting a staggering Rs 400 crore globally.

The Birth Of A Prequel

Fast forward to the present, and Rishab Shetty is not content with merely resting on the laurels of Kantara. The tantalising teaser of Kantara: A Legend - Chapter 1 introduces a trident-wielding character, set against the backdrop of a small community in the woodlands. The prequel, as revealed by Shetty, was conceived during the shooting of Kantara, sparked by the realisation that the history of Kantara held untapped depths.

While the plot details of Kantara: A Legend - Chapter 1 remain shrouded in suspense, Shetty assures us that what we witnessed in the teaser is just the tip of the iceberg. The narrative is poised to plunge into the intricate details of Kantara’s history, promising a deeper exploration of the magical realism that captivated audiences in the original film.

The Creative Ensemble

B Ajaneesh Loknath, the musical maestro behind the original’s soul-stirring tunes, returns to compose the score for the prequel. Cinematographer Arvind S Kashyap, along with co-writers Anirudh Mahesh and Shanil Guru, join Shetty in weaving this cinematic tapestry. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films, Kantara: A Legend - Chapter 1 is slated for a 2024 release in seven languages, including Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali, and English.

The first-look teaser unfolds with a fierce roar, transporting us back to the Kadambas reign between 345 CE and 500 CE. Shetty’s character, Shiva, emerges in a gripping portrayal, adorned with long hair and a beard, wielding a trident and sword. The enthralling visuals promise a masterpiece, with blood adorning his body and his eyes ablaze.

Journey Into The Past

The teaser hints at a legend born during the Kadambas’ rule and invites us into the world of Shiva, with glimpses of fire, the forest and an intense gaze. Shetty’s character is a vision with unruly hair, a beard, rudraksha beads and a trishul, leaving us eager to unravel the untold chapters of Kantara .

Fantasy Movies

From Kantara To Kadambas

While Kantara explored a fictional village’s magical realism, the prequel takes us further back, set during the reign of the Kadambas in 300 CE. The Kadambas, an ancient royal family from Karnataka, ruled over northern Karnataka and the Konkan, with legends tracing their origins to the sweat of Lord Shiva.

Rishab Shetty’s Transformation

The teaser not only introduces us to the enigmatic world of Kantara: A Legend - Chapter 1 but also showcases Rishab Shetty in a new avatar. With long hair, a ripped physique and a trishul in hand, Shetty’s multi-faceted portrayal promises to be a visual feast for fans.

The Release Date

The excitement doesn’t end with the teaser. Rishab Shetty has announced that shooting for the prequel will commence later this month, with a planned 2024 release. The anticipation is further heightened by the return of B Ajaneesh Loknath, ensuring that the musical magic that enchanted audiences in the original will once again grace the screens.

10 Reasons Jake Gyllenhaal's Road House Remake Reviews Are So Positive (& Way Better Than The Original)

  • Road House 2024 is rating better than its 1989 predecessor at 73% on Rotten Tomatoes.
  • The movie stays true to the original concept but introduces modern elements to the storyline.
  • Jake Gyllenhaal and Conor McGregor lead a talented cast in the action-packed remake.

Road House gained cult status when it was released back in 1989, but the modern reimagining in 2024 appears to be taking a sharp lead over the original. When Road House came out in 1989, the movie earned a decent sum in theaters with a domestic box office of $30 million (via The Numbers ). However, the movie failed to find its audience until after its release when it aired on cable TV and gained cult status. The excessive violence and cheesy humor fit in with a niche demographic and thus continued to be held in high regard as an influential action movie of the 80s.

In 2006, the movie was granted a sequel with a direct-to-video movie that continued the story, but without any of the core cast, it felt like a hollow cash grab. So, when a reimagined version of the 1989 film was announced starring Gyllenhaal, and featuring UFC legend Conor McGregor in his acting debut , there were doubts about what would be achieved. However, following the film being shown at the SXSW film festival, early reviews appear to rate the film much higher than its predecessor . But, there are reasons why that was always going to happen.

Road House is a remake of the original 1989 film, which followed protagonist Dalton, a Ph.D. educated bouncer at the roughest bar in the south known as the Double Deuce. Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Dalton, with two major changes including Dalton being a retired UFC fighter and the bar locale being in the Florida Keys.

Nostalgia For A Cult Classic

Like with top gun: maverick, and star wars.

While Top Gun: Maverick and Star Wars were considerably more popular, nostalgia has proven to be a massive driving force for people enjoying and paying to go and see a movie. Road House is set to release via streaming, but considering the cult classic status of the original, a more dedicated fanbase came after the movie's release, and may well have paid for a ticket to see the cult film brought up to date. 1989's Road House walked so that 2024's could run, and with more appreciation for the movie than ever before, the remake was bound to perform well.

True To The Original

At least in spirit.

In some early reviews, critics highlighted the movie's faithfulness to the original concept . Despite changes to some names, criminal activities, and the location, the story remains very much in line with what the original Road House set out to achieve . The movie is not designed to be serious, or full of intense drama, but rather, it is an action flick like those made popular in the 80s and 90s. Road House is violent, corny, funny, and adrenaline-fuelled, nothing more, and nothing less.

10 Great 1980s Action Movies We're Surprised Didn't Become Franchises

Different enough to avoid comparison, starting with a new villain.

While the modern version of Road House may hearken back to the movie that inspired it, it's also a distinctly modern movie . Gyllenhaal's Dalton is an ex-UFC fighter who fought his way up in giant brightly lit stadiums. Patrick Swayze's Dalton, on the other hand, was a black belt in karate with a tragic past. The main antagonist in 1989 was a sleazy businessman in a suit and a dark shirt who sent others to do the fighting for him, while 2024's places the hulking and intimidating McGregor as Gyllenhaal's opponent.

A Real Action Hero Movie

Action heroes are few and far between in hollywood right now.

While former wrestlers are transitioning into action stars, and actors like Jason Statham and Vin Diesel frequently appear in modern action titles, action heroes like those in the 80s and 90s are rarer now . With Gyllenhaal clearly putting in the work to take on a physically demanding role like this and featuring the skilled fighter, Conor McGregor, as the antagonist, this movie feels more true to the pure and simple action heroes of the past, and that is sorely missing from Hollywood in the present cinematic landscape.

From Multiple Disciplines

Jake Gyllenhaal has long been a Hollywood A-lister, and with his talent matched by others from other areas of entertainment , Road House has an outstanding cast for attracting viewers. Post Malone is one of the most popular musicians in the world, and Conor McGregor is one of the biggest legends in UFC history. Despite never being crowned the king, his loud and energetic displays earned him global recognition. In addition, talented actors like Billy Magnussen round out the cast with rising stars in the industry, which all adds to an incredible cast.

UFC Legend Conor McGregor

Ufc fighter conor mcgregor's cinematic debut.

As mentioned above, McGregor was one of the biggest names in UFC before retiring. He has repeatedly returned and retired, but at the height of his career, he earned the number 2 spot in the overall rankings, and became the highest-earning star in UFC (via SportBible ), thanks to his louder-than-life approach and entertainment value. Now moving into the world of cinema, McGregor is sure to bring some of that clout with him , and in a debut role that essentially serves up his next big fight, his fans will be happy to see him return in a familiar role.

Doug liman as director, known for: swingers, the bourne identity, jumper, mr. & mrs. smith, and edge of tomorrow.

When creating a spectacular action film, it pays to have someone with a wealth of experience in the genre. With Doug Liman at the helm, Road House could not be in better hands in this regard. With his credits adding up to many of the best action movies in modern cinema , along with several cult classics of his own, like Jumper , Liman is one of the best action directors in Hollywood. Giving him the reins to recreate the bloody, brutal, and action-packed Road House movie for a modern audience was the perfect call.

Road House 2024 Is Self-Aware

Over the top, but in the best way possible.

From the blood and brutality to the humor, everything is extra, and it works. Road House owns its place as a film that isn't trying to win acclaim and awards but to engage its audience and give them something that is thoroughly entertaining. The movie does not try to create some political statement, a critique on action movies of the 80s , or anything else, it just aims to be the best action picture that it can be, and with a simple and clear vision, the results are equally simple and clear.

The Locations Are Spectacular

From the dominican republic to vegas.

Road House capitalizes on a far bigger budget than the original film with $85 million at their disposal (via IndieWire ). With that, the film was able to shoot a scene in the Octagon Arena in Las Vegas, as well as stunning location filming in the Dominican Republic (via Collider ). These beautiful and unique settings give the film a greater sense of scale and make it visually stunning, which is helpful when it comes to visual media.

It's Fun To Watch

Making it perfect for streaming.

Like the original, Road House is designed to be fun and easy to watch. From the humor to the action, and the stars filling up the screen, the movie is designed to be a good time. The original Road House became a cult classic because of its popularity on cable TV after the movie was released in theaters. In the same way, Road House is likely to climb the ranks of popularity thanks to its availability on streaming, which will make it easy for fans of the film to watch it again and again, ultimately becoming a fan-favorite film.

With a story and screenplay by David Lee Henry and direction from Rowdy Herrington, Road House is a 1989 Action release starring Patrick Swayze in the lead role. Swayze steps into the shoes of James Dalton, a bouncer that is hired by a club owner to provide security for the establishment.
