Pokemon GO: Adventure Week 2022 Field Research Tasks and Rewards

Pokemon GO's Adventure Week 2022 event features a set of Field Research, and this guide contains a full list of its tasks and rewards.

Pokemon GO 's Adventure Week 2022 is now underway, and there are a variety of ways for players to get involved in this event. One of those ways is to complete Adventure Week 2022 Field Research tasks, and there are nine of them in total. This guide contains a full list of those Pokemon GO Adventure Week 2022 Field Research tasks, and it also details their associated rewards.

To note, the following set of Field Research will be available until PoGO 's Adventure Week 2022 event concludes on Sunday, June 12 at 8pm local time. Players that are interested in some of its rewards should thus make sure to put some effort towards spinning PokeStops now. Indeed, while there are other ways to obtain all of these rewards, the Adventure Week 2022 Field Research provides a simple path toward earning them.

RELATED: Pokemon GO: Best Kyogre Counters (June 2022)

While the vast majority of these Field Research tasks are quite generic, there is one that has a direct connection to the theme of Adventure Week 2022. That task is the one that instructs players to catch 15 Rock-type Pokemon in PoGO , and indeed the ongoing event focuses on exactly those Pokemon. This manifests as increased spawn-rates for numerous Rock-type Pokemon during Adventure Week 2022, which will make completing this specific task all the easier.

With respect to the rewards, the Amaura and Tyrunt encounters are likely to be of the greatest interest to many players, as those Pokemon are making their debut during Adventure Week 2022. Notably, Amaura and Tyrunt can also be obtained through the event's Adventure Challenge, and they can be hatched from 7km Eggs in Pokemon GO as well. Additionally, these Pokemon will appear in the wild during the Research Day on June 12, giving players several ways to add them to their collections.

One final thing to mention is that some Limited Research tasks can be collected from PokeStops during the aforementioned Research Day. These tasks will award encounters with Cranidos and Shieldon , and while they are not technically Field Research, they are obtained in the same way.

Pokemon GO is available on Android and iOS.

It is once again time to hit the trails of adventure in Pokémon Go’s annual Adventure Week event , which puts a focus on getting out, exploring, and researching—with a specific focus on Rock-type and Fossil Pokémon.

Set to run from July 27 to Aug. 2, this will be the final standalone Pokémon Go event leading into Go Fest 2023 and will feature the debut of Mega Tyranitar .

Players who want to train up their own Mega Tyranitar will need to challenge Mega Raids during the event to get Mega Tyranitar Energy , which can then be used to Mega Evolve a Tyranitar they have caught. Mega Tyranitar will be available in Mega Raids until Aug. 4 , and don’t sleep on Regidrago in five-star raids either.

Outside of raids, players can encounter every Fossil Pokémon available in Pokémon Go , which is key to completing four different Collection Challenges and hunting for Shiny Amaura and Shiny Tyrunt, which make their debut here too.

There is also new Adventures Near and Far Timed Research to complete with two different paths that shift what tasks you will need to complete. Ticketed Timed Research is also available for $2 and will give players more encounters with Amaura and Tyrunt.

Pair that research with all of the other content, and you have plenty to do during Adventure Week.

Niantic’s new favorite thing is tossing a branching path into Timed Research for normal events that really don’t change much.

Since Adventures Near and Far Timed Research is free for all players, you can complete all of the tasks and get every reward easily enough. Once you complete the initial page of research, you will be asked to choose between a path based on Sightseeing or being Studious.

Related: Should you pick the Sightseeing or Studious path for Adventures Near and Far Timed Research in Pokémon Go ?

Your choice won’t change the rewards you receive at the end of each page, only the tasks you need to complete. Personally, I will be picking the Sightseeing Adventure because it seems easier and requires you to complete less Field Research, so you won’t have additional RNG deciding how long you have to play to complete a page.

You can purchase the Adventure Week 2023 Timed Research in the in-game shop until Aug. 1 at 8pm local time. However, it is only available to complete until Aug. 2 at 8pm local time when the event is over, so purchasing it earlier is better for players like me who will likely only get out and play during the weekend.

Don’t forget to prep for Pokémon Go Fest during this event, too; the physical events begin on Aug. 4, leading to the global event on Aug. 26 and 27.

Pokémon go: adventure week challenge timed research tasks (& rewards).

Pokémon Go's Adventure Week event features its own set of Timed Research Tasks to complete. Trainers will be rewarded with Incubators for walking.

Adventure Week is back in Pokémon Go with a new set of Timed Research Tasks to complete. Clearing them out will reward trainers with rare Pokémon encounters and Incubators. In addition, since trainers were so active as part of Pokémon Go Fest , Niantic has rewarded them with extra bonuses within the next week. This includes double the XP for spinning Poké Stops and quintuple XP for spinning a Poké Stop for the very first time. Also, eggs will hatch at only half the distance, bringing a 12km egg down to just 6km.

Pokemon Go's Adventure Week will be active up until June 12th, 2022, at 8 pm local time. However, since this event features a Timed Research Task, they will only remain in the game for as long as the event is active. This means trainers who fail to clear these challenges before the event is over will lose out on the chance to obtain these items. Amaura, Tyrunt, and Shiny Archen also made their Pokémon Go debuts as part of this event. In addition, there's a heavy focus on fossil Pokémon as they will appear in the wild much more frequently.

The Adventure Week Timed Research Task is called 'Adventure Week: Adventure Challenge.' From the main menu, select the 'Today' tab, and it will display the challenges, how much progress the player has made, and how much time is remaining. There is only one step available, but it is broken up into five different tiers. This includes tasks such as  walking with a Pokémon buddy .

Pokémon Go's Adventure Challenge Timed Research Tasks (& Rewards)

Pokémon Go Tyrunt Amaura Unknown F

  • Walk 5km: x1 Egg Incubator.
  • Walk 10km: x1 Egg Incubator.
  • Walk 25km: x1 Egg Incubator.
  • Spin 50 PokéStops or Gyms: Tyrunt encounter.
  • Earn 5 Candies exploring with a buddy: Amaura encounter.
  • Rewards: x5000 XP, x2500 Stardust, and x3 Rare Candy.

Turning on the Adventure Sync option is incredibly important when trying to complete this challenge. In the settings of Pokémon Go , Adventure Sync allows the game to keep track of distance and location while the game is closed. It might eat up a bit of battery, but passively collecting steps is the best way to clear these challenges. Walking 25km in total is not a small task but can be done little by little until completion. Both Tyrunt and Amaura are still fairly rare, and this Timed Research offers a guaranteed encounter. Not only that, but collecting three Egg Incubators without needing to spend Poké Coins is not something trainers want to miss.

Sightseeing Adventure or Studious Adventure in Pokémon Go: Which Choose Path choice is best?

When it comes to the differences between the Sightseeing Adventure or Studious Adventures paths of the Adventures Near and Far quest in Pokémon Go, the only one you'll find is the between the challenges.

The Sightseeing Adventure path focuses upon on exploring the world in Pokémon Go - with challenges on hatching eggs, walking distances and spinning PokéStops. Meanwhile, the Studious Adventure, is more of a mixed collection, with challenges around completing field research tasks, sending gifts to friends and and catching different species of Pokémon. Though you do still need to complete the walking challenges.

Since your choice in path does not effect the quest's rewards, you should make your path choice based upon the challenges you prefer.

research tasks pokemon go adventure week

The Studious does, however, appear to be easiest to complete as it doesn't require to hatch any eggs, which, if all you've been getting our 5km or 10km eggs, can take a long time to finish. Though, if you do go the Studious route, keep in mind that you'll need at least three friends to send gifts too. Thankfully, you can easily find friend codes by using various Pokémon Go subreddits or local groups.

Personally, I'll be choosing the Sightseeing Adventure Path, because, come wind or shine, I enjoy walking around playing Pokémon Go. This means my playstyle doesn't make the egg related challenges a roadblock. (I'm also awful at remembering to send gifts - sorry to anyone on my friend's list.)

Ultimately, as the rewards don't change between paths, your choice in down to you - just remember to take a look at the challenges above and take your playstyle for Pokémon Go into account before making your decision.

Everything else you need to know about Adventure Week in Pokémon Go

There are three bonuses running in Pokémon Go until the Adventure Week ends on Wednesday 2nd August at 8pm (local time) . The first sees the hatch distance for any egg placed in an Incubator during the event being halved.

The other bonuses are focused around PokéStops, with one giving you double XP for spinning PokéStops. If you’re spinning a PokéStop for the first time, however, you’ll receive x5 XP.

Adventure Week this year also sees the debut of Mega Tyranitar in Pokémon Go. So, if you want to add this evolution to your Mega Dex, then you’ll need to defeat this Pokémon in Mega Raids until you’ve earned enough Mega Energy.

The following Pokémon will also be appearing more frequently in the wild throughout Adventure Week:

Adventure Week also marks the release of the shiny forms of Tyrunt and Amaura, along with their evolutions, in Pokémon Go!

The 7km egg pool is also changing for Adventure Week, so, if you earn one of these eggs by opening Gifts during this event, it can hatch one of the following Pokémon:

Finally, there are only two changes to raids during Adventure Week, with Regidrago appearing in five-star raids and Mega Tyranitar in Mega Raids.

While not quite as exciting as it once was, this is still an event worth taking part in.

Like with all Field Research Tasks, these new ones for the Adventure Week event can be completed at any time. However, once the event ends at 8 PM local time on August 2, you will no longer be able to pick up any of these Tasks from spinning PokeStops.

Therefore, if you want plenty of rare Fossil Pokemon, we suggest you complete these Tasks as soon as possible. Following Adventure Week, there won’t be an easy way to get them!
