Overall, I think the Deathly Hallows is an excellent book and it is definitely my favourite in the Harry Potter series. I would highly recommend it to any Potterhead or anyone who loves a good story.

My Favorite Book Harry Potter Because:

Harry Potter is a magical world filled with adventure, friendship, and lessons that we can all relate to. From the very first chapter of “The Philosopher’s Stone” to the final pages of “The Deathly Hallows,” readers are transported into a world where anything is possible.

One of the main reasons why Harry Potter is my favorite book is because it explores themes such as love, loyalty, and the power of good versus evil. Throughout the series, we see characters face challenges that test their courage and morality. We witness Harry’s unwavering loyalty to his friends, Hermione’s determination to always do what is right, and Ron’s undying love for his family.

But it’s not just about the themes – it’s also about the characters. J.K. Rowling has created a diverse cast of characters who are flawed, relatable, and ultimately, lovable. From the brave trio of Harry, Ron, and Hermione to complex and dynamic characters like Severus Snape and Draco Malfoy, every character brings something unique to the story.

Moreover, Harry Potter is more than just a book series – it’s a cultural phenomenon that has captivated millions of readers worldwide. It’s not just about the books, but also the movies, theme parks, merchandise, and fan communities that have sprung up around the series. This goes to show the impact and influence that Harry Potter has had on popular culture.

Finally, I love Harry Potter because it holds a special place in my heart. As a child, I grew up reading and re-reading the books countless times, eagerly anticipating each new release. The story of an ordinary boy who discovers he is destined for greatness resonated with me and inspired me to embrace my own uniqueness and potential.

My Favorite Character Harry Potter Essay:

Harry Potter, the boy who lived. A name that resonates with millions of readers and moviegoers around the world. He is a beloved character who has captured our hearts and imaginations for over two decades. Harry’s journey from being an orphaned baby to becoming one of the most powerful wizards in the wizarding world has been nothing short of magical.

Growing up, I was a huge fan of the Harry Potter books. I remember eagerly waiting for each new release and devouring them in one sitting. The first book, “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” introduced us to Harry and his world of magic, friendship, and adventure. From then on, I was hooked.

One of the reasons why Harry is my favorite character is because he is relatable. Despite being a wizard, he goes through many struggles and challenges that we all face in our own lives. He deals with loss, loneliness, and self-doubt, but never gives up. Harry’s determination and bravery inspire us to face our own battles with courage.

Another aspect of Harry’s character that I admire is his loyalty towards his friends. From Ron and Hermione to Neville and Luna, Harry always stands by his friends and supports them no matter what. He teaches us the importance of friendship and shows that true friends are always there for each other, through thick and thin.

As the series progresses, we see Harry grow into a strong and responsible leader. He takes on the weight of the wizarding world on his shoulders and fights against the dark forces to protect his loved ones. Despite the immense pressure, Harry remains humble and never lets fame get to his head.

But beyond all the action and magic, what I love most about Harry is his big heart. He may have a tough exterior, but he has a soft spot for those in need. From freeing Dobby to standing up for the rights of house-elves, Harry shows us that true strength lies in kindness and compassion.

In conclusion, Harry Potter is not just a fictional character to me, but a symbol of courage, friendship, and love. He has taught me valuable lessons about life and continues to inspire me every day. I will forever be grateful to J.K. Rowling for creating such a timeless and unforgettable character.

Essay on Favorite Book Harry Potter:

“Hey there, book lovers! I’m sure many of you have a favorite book that you keep going back to, no matter how many times you’ve read it. And for me, that book is none other than the magical world of Harry Potter.

If you haven’t read the series yet, where have you been? Just kidding. But seriously, if you haven’t delved into the world of Hogwarts, wizards and magical creatures, you’re seriously missing out.

I remember being in middle school when I first started reading Harry Potter. And from the moment I picked up the first book, I was immediately hooked. The story was unlike anything I had ever read before – it had adventure, friendship, magic and so much more.

One of the things that drew me to the series was its relatability. Sure, I may not be a wizard or have magical powers, but I could see myself in Harry and his friends. They were just regular teenagers facing problems and challenges that we all face at some point in our lives.

But what truly made Harry Potter stand out for me was its underlying theme of love. Love was not just portrayed as a romantic notion, but also as a powerful force that could conquer even the darkest of evils. The bond between Harry and his friends, and the love for their families and for each other, is what ultimately helped them defeat Voldemort.

And let’s not forget the amazing world-building by J.K Rowling. The amount of detail she put into creating Hogwarts and its inhabitants was simply mind-blowing. I could picture every nook and cranny of the castle, and imagine myself roaming its halls alongside Harry, Ron and Hermione.

But beyond the fantastical elements, the series also touched upon important themes such as discrimination, bravery, sacrifice and standing up for what’s right. It taught readers to question authority and to never give up hope, even in the darkest of times.

Even after all these years, I still find myself returning to the world of Harry Potter. And each time I do, I discover something new and meaningful that makes me appreciate the series even more.

So if you haven’t given this series a chance yet, I highly recommend it. Trust me, you’ll be hooked from page one. And for those who have already delved into the world of Harry Potter, let’s raise our wands and say together: “Always.” Because that’s what this series will always be for me – a timeless classic that I will never get tired of reading.

My Favorite Book – Harry Potter (Essay Sample)

My favorite book – harry potter.

J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series remains one of the most read and celebrated pieces of literature. The Harry Potter books highlight the idea of wizarding, painting the picture of the world so incredible that the reader gets immersed in the writer’s description of an almost utopian world. While books in the entire Potter series are my best, one specific book “The Goblet of Fire” is particularly special to me; it is my favorite.

“The Goblet of Fire” caught my attention the moment I read the first few sentences. Although I had read most of the earlier releases in the Potter series, none of them was as tantalizing and articulate as “The Goblet of Fire.” The concept of a wizarding world larger than Hogwarts is brought to light in the previous three books but in “Goblet of Fire,” the idea of a larger wizarding world is emphasized and brought to reality. “Goblet of Fire” is a book that marks a transition from the previous releases, as it is written from a relatively more mature perspective. In the book, Rowling gives a vivid description of two more wizarding schools which visit Hogwarts in preparation for the so-called “Tri-Wizard Tournament.”

The idea of the Quidditch World Cup in the first chapters of the book is so vividly described that the reader begins to imagine an alluring Tri-Wizard Tournament, surrounded by exceptionally competent wizards. The book presents scenes where the young Harry is forced into deadly situations reserved for older wizards during the tournament. The character Voldemort is transformed from an imaginary person into a real-world physical being. In the previous books of the series, the character was treated as an idea that threatens the world. Making the character a real, tangible person sets the book and its characters’ experiences on a whole new level.

Throughout the author’s narrations, “Goblet of Fire” retains an adventurous and youthful approach evident in the previous books in the series. The characters in the book are fully developed, and their descriptions are filled with action and adventure. For instance, the Hogwarts children interact effectively with other wizarding students. The author vividly describes the events at the tournament as children work in collaboration socializing during the Christmas Ball.

For someone who loves seeing the magical world through the eyes of Harry, the book is irresistible. Harry often treats the reader to such spectacles as flying in a magical car and finding parents. Some scenes such as the awkward school dance during the tournament, combined with the various tricks employed by magicians present growing up as a fun-filled yet dangerous period in the life of various characters. Readers are treated to the thrill of various fantasies that only the magical world can offer. The children in the play literally transform into adults and their youthful naivety is so well captured in J.W. Rowling’s descriptions with such powerful curses as Avada Kedavra which supposedly kills the enemies instantly.

In conclusion, the Harry Potter series is a single story told through various pieces, each setting up a platform for subsequent books in the series. Humans are so lost in the real world full of challenges and negative experiences that a chance to go to a magical utopia-like trip greatly excites me. “The Globe of Fire” and other Harry Potter series books grant me that opportunity, making it my favorite book.

Every day, thousands of books are available in the market ranging from travel books to fictional books. We can pick any book of our interest to expand our knowledge and enjoy the reading experience. Here are some sample essays on my favourite book .

My Favourite Book Essay - 100, 200, 500 Words

Our ability to learn and retain information improves constantly as and when we read more and more ebooks. Reading a book is the finest way to learn something. My parents are avid book collectors. We even have an enormous collection of novels and books at home. The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes is one of them, and it's my favourite.

I love Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's writing. Most of his novels have been read by me. My favourite of them is Sherlock Holmes. The main character of this book series, Dr Watson, is also very fascinating. Upon beginning to read Sherlock Holmes, I fell in love with detective fiction. I have read numerous novels throughout my life since I enjoy reading them.

The Book I Love

Rusty, an orphaned Anglo-Indian young boy, is the protagonist of the novel ‘The Room on the Roof’. He lived with an Englishman named Mr Harrison in a colony of Europeans in Dehradun. Mr Harrison desires that Rusty should grow into a cultured Englishman and makes an effort to keep him away from the local Indians.

On the other hand, Rusty enjoys playing with his Indian friends. Thus, Rusty flees to live with his friends because he cannot stand Mr Harrison's strict rules and domineering personality. As he moves away from Mr Harrison, Rusty learns a lot about India and the Indian lifestyle. But he soon understands that in order to survive, he must work.

He soon starts teaching English to Mr and Mrs Kapoor's son Kishen. They provide him with a space under their roof and feed him in exchange for his help and support. He eventually learns that Mr Kapoor is an alcoholic. His wife Meena is 20 years younger than Mr Kapoor. Meena is attracted to Rusty, and he feels the same way about her. They become very close over time. Rusty experiences joy for the very first time in his entire life.

His joy, however, is short-lived since Meena perishes in a car accident. Both Kishen and Rusty are devastated by the news. Kishen moves in with his aunt after this occurrence, leaving Rusty alone. Rusty makes the decision to settle down in England in order to get over his tragedy and start again.

Books have always been loyal companions that stick by your side. The ones that were always there by my side were books. I like reading books. Without physically going anywhere, they have the ability to allow us to travel through other places. Furthermore, reading books helps us use our creativity. My parents and educators pushed me to read during my childhood. I learned the value of reading from them.

Harry Potter Series

Harry Potter is a series of novels by J.K. Rowling. It feels authentic because J.K. Rowling did such an excellent job at painting a visual of this world. The Goblet of Fire is my favourite volume in this series.

My interest was immediately sparked when I began reading the book. I had read every chapter before, but none of the novels had the same effect on me as this particular one did. A broader view of the wizard's society was provided. This book's presentation of the various wizard schools is among the aspects that most thrill me. One of the most original ideas I've encountered in the books of Harry Potter is the idea of the Tri-wizard competition.

The Harry Potter books offer a lot of principles for young individuals to learn, despite the fact that they are about wizards and the magical world. It first teaches us the value of friendship. Despite the number of novels I've read, I've never encountered a friendship quite like Harry, Hermione, and Ron's. Throughout the entire series of books, these three musketeers remained a team and never gave up. It made me appreciate the significance of a good friend.

I learned that none of us is flawless from the Harry Potter series. It also taught me that each person has both good and bad traits and it is up to us who we want to be and this is the decision only we make for ourselves. Even the characters with the greatest flaws, like Snape, had excellent qualities like intelligence, commitment, ambition, and talent and he fulfilled all his promises.

Although Snape was a cruel and cunning personality he changed and became a good person after Dumbledore gave him a chance. It teaches us that every bad person can change, it might be a difficult process but one should always change for good. These qualities inspire me to be ambitious and committed as this will help me to achieve all the goals in my life.

I learned from them what it is to have hope and believe that there is light on the other side of the tunnel. It empowered me to maintain optimism even at the worst moments, as Harry did throughout his entire life.

A lot of films based on novels have been produced. The authenticity and core of the novels are unmatched. No other type of media can compare to the specifics and inclusivity of books. I still think The Goblet of Fire is my favourite book because of this fact.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by J.K. Rowling - review

J. K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

One of my favourite books is Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by J.K. Rowling. It is a story about Harry Potter, an orphan brought up by his aunt and uncle because his parents were killed when he was a baby. Harry is unloved by his uncle and aunt but everything changes when he is invited to join Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and he finds out he's a wizard. At Hogwarts Harry realises he's special and his adventures begin when he and his new friends Ron and Hermione attempt to unravel the mystery of the Philosopher's Stone. I can read this book over and over again. From the very beginning until the end J.K. Rowling has me gripped! There is never a dull moment, whether it's battling with trolls, a three-headed dog, or Harry facing Lord Voldermort. I would definitely recommend this book because it keeps you reading without ever wanting to put the book down. By the end of the book you come to love the characters and you want to read more. You won't be disappointed because the second book in the series, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is just as great! If you haven't read any of the Harry Potter books you are missing out on the best series ever!

In the main series that consists of seven books, as well as whole Rowling’s fictional world, he is known as the only wizard in history who managed to defeat the dark wizard called Lord Voldemort and the only one who survived eight battles with him. Among other things, Harry is a winner of the Triwizard Tournament and the owner of a special Hogwarts Award ‘For Service to the School’, received in 1993 for saving the school of Witchcraft and Wizardry from the monster of the Chamber of Secrets – the Basilisk. The character gained extreme popularity all over the world. Despite difficult childhood and a long chain of challenges, Harry Potter has never betrayed his brave and candid principles, which makes him a truly inspiring character for the generation of readers that grew up with him.

Harry was born on July 31, 1980, in the family of James and Lily Potters. His father was an animagus (a person who can deliberately turn into an animal) from the ancient bloodline of wizards while his mother was a muggleborn witch, extremely gifted, especially in potions. All three of them were accepted into Hogwarts and sorted into Gryffindor House, which already tells something about the family; the decision-making magic of the Sorting Hat depends on student’s dominant personality traits and, for Gryffindor, these have to be bravery and pride. Harry himself barely knew his parents (they died when the baby Harry was only one year old), but remembered them with deep respect and love. Every time someone said that he looked like his father, Harry felt proud. Of course, anyone who spoke of his parents unflatteringly aroused the boy’s cordial dislike. Naturally, professor of magic potions Severus Snape gave derisive comments about James which did not add warmth to their relationship. Harry’s feelings towards his father became slightly colder when he saw in the Pool of Memory – a magic device that allows re-experiencing one’s memories – recollection of James and his best friend Sirius attacking unarmed Snape. He did not cease to love his father after that, but his attitude towards him lost his childlike eagerness.

Arguably, Harry’s appearance is quite a metaphor for his personality and his story. He has a puny physique, a short stature, dark hair (similar to his father’s), and bright green almond-shaped eyes (like his mother Lily had). This hints a reader to his strong connection to his family heritage that he believes to be lost and to the type of the hero he is; he is the one who is destined to save others, although does not seem to be built for that. Being a well-developed character, Harry Potter also has many recognizable special signs. Firstly, he wears round glasses and has a recognizable scar in the form of lightning on the forehead. He also has a scar on the left hand in the form of the words ‘I must not tell lies’, obtained after illegal detentions executed by professor Dolores Umbridge. Lastly, he has two more marks: an oval scar on the breast left by the Horcrux medallion (a special magic relic which contained the part of Voldemort’s soul that could let him resurrect in case he died), and a snake bite scar on his hand left by Voldemort’s serpent Nagini in the house of Bathilda Bagshot’s, author of History of Magic.

Harry grew up in a heavy emotional environment but this did not affect his personality in a negative way. The difficult life with the Dursleys, his only living relatives, has formed in him a sort of distrust; yet, he overcomes it after his first year in the school of wizardry. When Hagrid, Hogwarts’ gamekeeper, appears in his life, the boy doubts reality of what is happening until the last. During the first year in Hogwarts, where Harry finally feels like a full-fledged person, the main features of his character reveal themselves, both positive and negative. In addition to kindness and courage, Harry is endowed with such qualities as mercy, compassion, and the ability to self-sacrifice. Harry is a good friend and companion, he does not like to lie, and always tries to help those who need it. Along with this, Harry knows how to raise his voice against injustice, which is due to the hardness of his personality. At the same time, he is quite rebellious and sometimes show certain disrespect towards the rules. Harry often feels tormented by contradictions because of him being the unintended Horcrux of Voldemort (although he does not know it). Nonetheless, his light side always prevails. After the loss of his godfather Sirius Black, Harry acquires a grim determination of revenge.

To continue, Potter never attacks first; on the contrary, he himself often has to reflect attacks. Harry is a leader by nature, and if he has to lead anything (to be captain of the Quidditch sport team or the leader of the Dumbledore Army defense classes), he does it pretty well. Harry never boasts of his fame; moreover, his fame annoys him. He is not always sociable, and despite the fact that he has to contact with a large number of people, he manages to become close only with a few. One might say that Harry’s shortcomings include secrecy that comes from a desire to protect those around him; he often believes that he is better to act alone to protect his loved ones. He rarely shares his feelings and experiences, even with those few close friends. These difficulties with trust and being open tend to reveal themselves even in his adult life: from the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child theatre play we know that Harry has a hard time building relationship with his son Albus; still, he finds a way to become a decent parent.

To conclude, Harry cannot ignore his own emotions and rely only on facts like his father’s friend Remus Lupine does, he is not able to grasp details like his friend Hermione Granger, and he may sometimes fail to treat everything with humor like his best mate Ron or Weasley twins. However, he is able to love people deeply and strongly and intuitively foresee something that cannot be explained in words. His personality proves to be his greatest advantage in the war against the Dark Lord and the quest of destroying his Horcruxes.

500 Words Essay On Harry Potter

Harry Potter is a series of fantasy novels written by British author J.K. Rowling. The series chronicles the life of a young orphan boy named Harry Potter, who discovers on his eleventh birthday that he is a wizard. He is taken to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a magical boarding school in Scotland, where he makes friends and enemies, and learns about magic and the magical world.

The series is made up of seven books, with the first book, “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” being published in 1997 and the final book, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” being published in 2007. The books were later adapted into eight successful films, with the final film being released in 2011.

The Harry Potter series has become one of the most popular and successful book and movie franchises of all time. It has been translated into over 80 languages and has sold over 500 million copies worldwide. The series has also been credited with revitalizing interest in reading among young people and has been used as a tool for teaching reading and critical thinking skills in schools.

One of the reasons for the series’ success is its relatable and well-developed characters. Harry Potter, the protagonist of the series, is an orphan who is forced to grow up too quickly, and the series follows his journey from a neglected and mistreated child to a brave and confident young man. His friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley are also well-developed characters, each with their own unique strengths and weaknesses. The series also features a wide variety of memorable and dynamic villains, such as Lord Voldemort, the main antagonist of the series, and his followers, the Death Eaters.

Another aspect of the series that has contributed to its success is its rich and detailed magical world. Rowling’s imagination and creativity are on full display in the series, as she creates a world filled with a wide variety of magical creatures, spells, and magical objects. The series also features a complex and intricate plot, with many subplots and twists that keep readers engaged and guessing until the end.

In conclusion, the Harry Potter series is a masterpiece of modern literature that has captured the hearts and minds of millions of readers and viewers around the world. It has become one of the most popular and successful book and movie franchises of all time, and its relatable characters, rich magical world, and complex plot are just a few of the reasons why it has stood the test of time. Essay on My Favorite Book (1000 Words)

The true companion of humans in this world is a book. Without the book, the life of humans remains incomplete.

It is a book that teaches us how to be wonderful humans with positive thoughts and shows us the path to wisdom. I would gladly announce my dipper feelings that books have always been there for me.

In the time of trouble, in the time of loneliness, a book can revive you from all these in the time of stress . Humans are complicated to judge, but the books are not. That is why many philosophers have quoted that –

Books are the true friend of a human.

Books have a special quality that can help the readers travel through their words without moving from the actual destinations. Otherwise, we can infer that books enhance our imagination. One book that gave me inspiration is Harry Potter. It is my favorite book.

Books are the True Guide

During the growing stage of a human baby, the parents and teachers are the guides to help the baby grow into a mature and obedient person in the future.

The process to make him or her into a recognizable person to this society takes many efforts, and without books, it can’t be done.

My teachers and parents taught me the importance of books. The inspiration from them led me to read several books. The book ‘Harry Potter’ will always be my favorite, as it gives me goosebumps every time I am reading it.

This book is one of the most intriguing reads of my life. I have finished reading all the books in this series. Every time I read them, I never get bored with it.

Interesting specifics that I admire about the book “Harry Potter”

The series of Harry Potter books were authored by one of the most eminent writers of our generation, J. K. Rowling.

She has been so successful at weaving a picture of this world, which seems so real. The Harry Potter book series comprises seven books. The Goblet of Fire is my favorite book among all series.

The time I began to read this book, it caught my attention instantly. It is one of the best moments to read all the previous parts; however, there are no other books that caught my attention as this one did.

This book has completely given me a thrilling experience and given me enough lessons. This book contributed a huge perspective into the wizarding world.

One most interesting part of this book is the introduction of the other wizard schools. This is the only thing that excites me the most and promotes my mind to read and imagine the total content.

In this book, it starts a concept as the Tri-wizard tournament. This book is one of many vivid pieces one can come across in the Harry Potter series. This book has also drawn my special attention and become my favorite book ,  as it contains some of my favorite characters.

There is this exact love moment when Viktor Krum showed up in this book. At this moment, I got so excited while reading it. J. K. Rowling has described the aura and personality of that character in a suspensive and thrilling way. Rowling has done a marvelous job with simplicity and brilliancy by allocating every character in the Harry Potter series.

A Lesson I Found from the Harry Potter Series

The Harry Potter series is completely based on the world of wizards and magic, but the books contain a lot of lessons for young people to learn. We can learn about the importance of friendship in these books. As per my idea, I have completed so many books but found nothing like these books.

The way of representation of friendship in this series is quite admirable. The friendship among Harry, Hermione, and Ron will give you the best idea of what are the roles of friends’ in our lives.

Harry, Hermione, and Ron love to stick together throughout the books and never gave up. Therefore, I choose the Harry Potter series as my favorite book.

Friendship has its importance. In our normal days, we meet with many people; some stay close to you, and some are just talking casually with you. However, you can find people who are always available to you with no hesitation.

This shows genuine friendship. That is why I admire the writer of this book as she explained the characters so deeply and mentioned the vitality of friendship.

Also, I learned from this book that no one is perfect. No matter how hard you try at some point, you may succeed, or you may fail. That’s what makes us human. Every person possesses a duality of nature , sometimes good and sometimes evil. Here, you can select any character you’d admire.

My favorite book, ‘Harry Potter,’ has shown me and helped me make better choices and become a better human being. The readers can see how the most flawed characters like Snape had goodness inside them.

Also, the series explains how the nicest ones, like Dumbledore, had some undesirable traits. The total scenario displayed in the book series has changed my perspective towards people and made me more considerate.

The series of Harry Potter also provides me with hope. A reader can manipulate the meaning of hope and how there is light at the end of the tunnel through these books. I got inspired the most by the character Harry, as his life is full of the strongest points to cling on to hope in the most desperate times.

10 Lines about My Favorite Book

  • The entire series of Harry Potter is a collection of novels based on fantasy authored by J. K. Rowling.
  • The chronicle of a young wizard’s life known as Harry is explained here.
  • The series also tells us about his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley.
  • It bases the series upon the students of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
  • I find this book more interesting, and the series turns out to be my favorite book.
  • This book displays everything that we deal with in our normal lives.
  • The books of Harry Potter tell us about his struggle against Lord Voldemort.
  • Lord Voldemort is a dark wizard who intends to become immortal.
  • Lord Voldemort is the anti-character in this series.
  • He takes over the wizard governing body known as the Ministry of Magic and subjugates all wizards and Muggles (non-magical people).

I found many movies and series that were made upon this series. However, nothing can overcome the essence and originality of the books.

As my favorite book, I would like to suggest every reader go through this series. The Harry Potter series will never dissatisfy you, and you can gain enough wonderful messages through these books.

Any form of movies, or comics, or series can’t substitute the specialty and inclusiveness of the books. As per my perspective, The Goblet of Fire will always be my favorite book.

Hope you liked this essay on my favorite book. You can also write a suberb essay on your favorite book by taking help of this article.

Speech on My Favourite Book

Preparing for public speeches can be daunting for many students. From overcoming stage fright to deciding on the right topic to finding the right arguments, the process is quite lengthy. That is why, in this blog, we have curated two samples for speech on My favourite book to help you prepare better for your speaking and listening tasks at school.

Speech on My Favourite Book (2-3 Minutes)

Good morning to all. My name is Reeva Raj and my topic for the English-speaking task is My favourite book. “ Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers”. Books are friends who never leave your side. I find this saying to be very true as books have always been there for me. I enjoy reading books. My favourite book is Harry Potter by J.K Rowling. This book is about wizards and the wizarding world. Harry Potter contains a total of seven books. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the 2nd book in the series and it’s my favourite.

There are so many things for readers to learn from the series Harry Potter. It teaches us the importance of friendship. It teaches us that someone’s background doesn’t determine his or her value as a person and many more lessons. It also showed me that no one in this universe is perfect. Everyone has good and evil inside them. I have learnt a lot from this great book. It remains one of the most precious treasures of mankind.

Speech for 5-10 Minutes

Good morning to all. My name is Reeva Raj and my topic for the English-speaking task is My favourite book. “ Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers”. Books are friends who never leave your side. I find this saying to be very true as books have always been there for me. I enjoy reading books. My favourite book is Iliad by Homer. The Iliad is an epic poem written by the Greek poet Homer. It tells the story of the last year of the Trojan War fought between the city of Troy and the Greeks. Achilles – Achilles is the main character and the greatest warrior in the world.

The Iliad teaches us many things, such as The importance of family is a central theme in the epic, the lovely scene of Hector with Andromache and his son is heartwarming all these years later. The friendship between Achilles and Patroclus is incredibly touching. The way Achilles fiercely and obsessively seeks vengeance for Patroclus has made many question if there was a romance between them.Priam losing his greatest son Hector and his supplication to Achilles to return his body so he and Troy can properly mourn its protector is another example of the theme of family.Achilles too lamenting his own father and how he shall never see him again, Priam and Achilles weeping together shows the futility of war as well as how family has affected these two enemies together.

The classics of Greece and Rome provide us with a set of connected stories and a cast of characters that teach us what it means to be human. They are also the basis of literature, teaching us about natural man (man at his best and worst, but natural man). They don’t give us the answers that we find in revelation, but they do give us the questions.

Books are wonderful – a bundle of pages with a cover on top brimming with content that stimulates the human imagination and helps us escape pressing reality. They are also beneficial to health. If you don’t like reading books, it’s definitely worth trying different genres until you find what interests you. Thank you for listening. I hope the speech was informative for you.

The “Harry Potter” Movie vs. Book Comparison Essay

Nowadays, more and more films are being made based on the books’ plots. The trend to make movies according to popular books has developed tremendously with the launch of such film projects as The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. It is known that if the viewer first watches a movie and then reads the book it is based on, it will be very difficult to eliminate the images that the director, according to his vision, reflected in the film. One’s imagination ceases to work, and reading is reduced to the reproduction in the mind of already assimilated images. At the same time, one of the most important tasks of literature is to develop the imagination. The reader must do the work of visually recreating the images the author describes. For my essay, I chose the movie and the book Harry Potter, which differ in many aspects, such as the plot, the details of the narrative, and the representation of the main characters.

The movie Harry Potter is a great illustration of the book. All the actors are perfectly chosen, and the main characters have the same characteristics as the author of the book wrote about. The plot twists and turns are mostly consistent with the source material. The boy’s story, life journey, and experiences are described in the original version. He also goes to a wizarding school and finds friends and enemies. Harry develops his abilities, gets into difficult situations, and gets out of them with agility. Furthermore, the author and director of the book describe him as a brave, kind, and courageous boy.

Although the idea and the main points are the same, there was much controversy. Readers and viewers had a completely different understanding of the story because “Harry Potter” is full of screaming inconsistencies. The first difference in the plot is that the movie omits the entire first chapter of the book when wizards around the world meet and raise their glasses to the surviving boy. Instead, the movie shows Professor Albus Dumbledore and Professor Minerva McGonagall meeting, and then the events of Harry’s hapless relatives begin to unfold.

The next difference concerning this aspect is that the movie omitted important details about the creation of the Marauder’s Map. However, the book does say that Tail (Peter Pettigrew), working for the Dark Lord, was the Keeper of the Potter Mystery (Kostelej and Bagić 19). After all, he was one of those who had a hand in creating the magical thing. It was through him that Voldemort found James and Lily that ill-fated night and Sirius had nothing to do with it. Another difference is that the professor effortlessly shakes his hand when Harry meets Professor Quirrell in Diagon Alley in the first book (Kostelej and Bagić 19). However, he politely refuses to make contact with Harry in the movie. This is troubling, for he could only burn his palms if Voldemort had already taken possession of his flesh (Kostelej and Bagić 28). Furthermore, that happened after the Philosopher’s Stone was discovered.

The next aspect of comparison are the details of the narrative. Harry’s farewell to Dudley looks dramatic in the book, and the reader even begins to feel compassion for the boy raised by such stingy and arrogant parents. On the other hand, the film deprived the audience of this emotion, thus distorting the relationship between the boys. The next difference is that the books explore the story of Tom Riddle becoming the ruthless Voldemort in much greater depth. According to the movie version, the dark lord is just an orphan with a penchant for evil.

Nevertheless, the novels show that his fate is incredibly complicated and creepy. In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Albus Dumbledore showed Harry a memory of the Mrax family. In the flashback, Potter saw the home of Marvolo Mrax, Voldemort’s grandfather (Kostelej and Bagić 25). The Mraxes lived poor, having used up their wealth over several generations. However, the most important detail readers learned was that Tom Riddle’s father was under the influence of a love potion, so the future dark lord lost his capacity for love at birth. Marvolo Mrax’s hut later became where Voldemort hid one of his Horcruxes, which Dumbledore found a few years later (Kostelej and Bagić 20). These details change the villain’s perception, which is impossible to achieve based on the movie.

The third aspect of comparison is the representation of the characters. Several times in the film, the audience hears phrases indicating incredible heredity; it is claimed that Harry has his mother’s eyes. Rowling rewarded Lily with a green shade of eyes if we believed the manuscripts. However, the screen shows Harry as a blue-eyed boy, which may mislead people who have read the book. Another difference is that some of Dobby’s merits were attributed to Neville in the movie. For example, the house elf was the one who got the gill for Harry during the Tournament of Three Wizards. However, the film’s writer let his classmate do it, and the same thing happened with the Room of Requirement.

Thus, the book “Harry Potter” and its film adaptation have many differences, but there are also similarities. This can be frustrating and misleading for people who read the story in the book version first and then watch the movie. However, given that the book’s author and the film’s director are two different people, it can be understood that it is impossible to achieve a complete identity. People have different views and can implement ideas differently, which is a significant factor when comparing these narrative versions.
