In recent days, with its rapid growth, India has witnessed a lot of plastic and electronic waste problems. The improper disposal of this waste leads to environmental degradation, water contamination, and many more. This waste is filling the capacity of the land field, which is becoming the ground for several diseases.

To tackle this crisis, individual actions are very important. Waste cleaning in your home or neighborhood make a clean community. The government also focused on garbage cleaning operations in 2014 when it launched Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, which drives nationwide cleanliness. Innovative ways to tackle this must be found. Essay on Garbage Free India in 300 words

Introduction: Garbage-free India is not only an aspiration but also a necessity for a healthy and good future. Urban India generates nearly 0.5 million tonnes of solid waste per day. Only 68% of the waste is collected for disposal, and the rest (28% of the waste) is not disposed of. Here garbage-free India aims to address this issue and create a clean and healthy nation for future generations.

The significance of garbage-free India :

The garbage-free India aspiration is very significant in many ways. Unregulated storage of garbage can become a breeding ground for diseases and contaminate water resources, directly impacting public health. Garbage can be the primary reason for many pollution, like soil pollution, water pollution, and air pollution, and that is also harmful to wildlife.

Also, improper waste management can reduce the overall quality of life as it hampers the aesthetic appeal of our cities and towns. Lastly, improper garbage cleaning can affect climate change by releasing harmful and toxic gasses into the atmosphere.

Initiatives for garbage-free India:

India has taken several measures to tackle the garbage issue. In 2014, India launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India campaign), which aims for cleanliness, waste segregation, and sanitization. Also at the municipal level, several measures have been taken to address this issue, such as waste-to-energy conversion projects, biodegradable waste management, and recycling programs.

Citizens role:

Whether the government has taken severe measures to address the garbage-free India mission, every citizen has to play a pivotal role in making this aspiration successful. On an individual level, one can separate the waste into two categories: biodegradable and non-biodegradable, which can help the recycling process. One can drive an awareness campaign or do some volunteering for garbage cleaning operations.

Conclusion:

Garbage-free India is not an unachievable aspiration; it is very much possible if the government and everyone individually follow their responsibilities. Taking proper steps to reduce, reuse, and recycle can help us achieve a garbage-free India. This vision of a garbage-free India is not an aspiration; it is a commitment towards a sustainable and healthier future for India.

Paragraph on Clean India 250 Words

India is a country with vast amounts of untapped potential. With nearly 1.3 billion people, it has the largest population in the world and is expected to reach over 2 billion by 2050. India also has one of the lowest rates of literacy, which means that there are still plenty of people who do not have access to quality education and health care. It is incumbent upon Indian citizens and businesses to work together to improve these conditions, starting with improving sanitation and hygiene. There are many organizations working towards this goal, but Clean India is one of the most visible and influential groups working on behalf of India’s poor population. Clean India is an initiative started by the Indian government in 2002 to make India a clean and green country. The program is designed to rid India of open defecation, which is defined as human waste that is openly deposited in any place where people can see or smell it. In addition to cleaning up public spaces, the Clean India campaign aims to promote environmentally-friendly methods of transportation, such as using public transport instead of cars, and increasing recycling rates. For millions of Indians, cleanliness is a way of life. Not only are households required to keep their homes spick and span, but they must also adhere to strict rules when it comes to food preparation and hygiene. In many ways, the drive for cleanliness is inextricably linked with India’s rich cultural heritage. This Paragraph explores the history and significance of cleanliness in Indian culture, as well as some of the challenges that face society as it strives towards greater hygiene standards.

Paragraph on Clean India 300 Words

In 2015, India was ranked as the most polluted country in the world by the World Health Organization. Pollution is a major contributor to India’s high rates of chronic ill health such as heart disease, stroke, and respiratory problems. To address this issue, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has launched several initiatives called “Clean India.” These initiatives include ambitious plans to increase renewable energy supplies and reduce pollution from cars and industrial plants. If these goals are successful, it will not only improve Indian citizens’ health but also have significant environmental benefits. Clean India is an ambitious campaign that aims to make the country free of open defecation by 2019. The program has already achieved success in various parts of the country, and with continued effort it can be extended nationwide. This would have a huge impact on public health as well as the environment, as open defecation leads to widespread pollution and contributes significantly to climate change. If you’re interested in supporting Clean India, please consider donating your time or money to help make this vision a reality.

The program has five core objectives:

  • To create awareness about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene and to promote best practices in personal hygiene;
  • To create a clean environment for all Indians through waste management;
  • To improve access to safe drinking water and sanitation facilities for all;
  • To increase crop production through better soil health and pest control.

The program employs a variety of initiatives to achieve its goals, including educational campaigns, public-private partnerships, and financial incentives. In January 2013, the Indian government announced plans to spend Rs. 2,500 crores over three years on Clean India initiatives to improve sanitation coverage in rural areas and boost garbage collection in cities. Clean India is an ambitious mission launched by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi in 2014 with the aim to make India a clean and pollution-free country by 2022. The initiative has been widely acclaimed for its potential to create jobs and promote economic growth, while also improving public health.

Paragraph on Clean India 400 + Words

India is one of the world’s most populous countries and its population is growing rapidly. To accommodate this increasing population, India has embarked on a project known as “Clean India.” The goal of this project is to make India a clean and sustainable country by improving sanitation, reducing air and water pollution, and increasing access to education and health care. In this blog post, we will explore the goals of Clean India and the ways you can help make it a reality. From donating money to supporting public health initiatives to volunteering in your community, read on to learn more about how you can contribute to this important initiative.

Clean India Initiative Launched

The government of India has announced the launch of a new initiative called “Clean India.” The goal of this initiative is to make India clean and pollution-free by 2020. The government has already begun to put in place plans to achieve this goal, and it will be working with various organizations and businesses to help make this happen.

The campaign aims to make India a clean and pollution-free country by 2022

The campaign aims to make India a clean and pollution-free country by 2022. The Clean India Mission was launched in October 2014 by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the goal of making India a pollution-free country within the next six years. The mission has set three goals for India: to achieve 100% household waste recycling by 2019, eliminate open defecation by 2019, and reduce air pollution levels by 50% by 2022. To meet these goals, the government is investing in renewable energy, improving public health infrastructure, and creating employment opportunities in environmental cleanup. Additionally, the government is working to improve communication between citizens and local officials, as well as with private companies. The government has set a target of making 100 cities air-purified. The Central government has set a target of making 100 cities air-purified by the year 2019. The Ministry of Urban Development had released a statement in this regard, saying that this would be done through various means such as using electronic waste to create charcoal filters and using waste water treatment plants. In order to make this ambitious goal possible, the Union Cabinet had approved Rs 10,000 crore for the same. Cities with large populations and uncontrolled pollution are the worst affected. Delhi, India’s capital has long been notorious for its poor air quality, with levels of PM2.5 – tiny particles that can enter the lungs and trigger serious health problems – regularly exceeding WHO safe limits. In January 2016, Delhi’s air quality was so bad that PM2.5 concentrations reached 1,000 µg/m3 (or more than 10 times the WHO safe limit). In response to public outcry, the Indian government announced plans to make 100 cities “air-purified” by 2019 – an ambitious but not impossible task if concerted effort is made across multiple sectors. There are several ways in which cities can be made “air-purified”: by using electronic waste to create charcoal filters; by using waste water treatment plants; and through various other measures such as Roadside Duster machines used to remove dust from roadsides and reduce vehicle emissions. Each method has its own pros and cons: electronic waste filters can be costly to install but

The central government will provide Rs 2,000 crore for the initiative

The central government has announced that it will provide Rs. 2000 crore for the initiative “Clean India”. The money will be used to upgrade infrastructure and provide support for sanitation programmes. The goal of the initiative is to make India a clean and pollution-free nation by 2019. This is a major step forward in the fight against pollution, and shows the commitment of the government to improving public health. It is also an opportunity to create jobs, increase economic growth, and create a more sustainable environment. By investing in Clean India, the government is making sure that everyone in India can enjoy a healthy environment and improved public health.

The regional governments will also pitch in funds

Clean India is an ambitious scheme by the Narendra Modi-led Central government to make India a clean and green country. The regional governments will also pitch in funds to help realize this goal. According to a report by The Hindu, the central government has allocated Rs 2,000 crore for the first phase of Clean India which will cover Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. Other states are expected to follow suit with their respective allocations. The first phase of Clean India will see an effort made to clean up rivers and lakes as well as other bodies of water such as tanks and canals. Water shortages are common across India and making sure that all of these sources are cleaner will go a long way in addressing this issue. The campaign will cover all sectors including urban areas, transport, industrial estates and agricultural areas The campaign will cover all sectors including urban areas, transport, industrial estates and agricultural areas. The government has set a target of creating an environment free of open defecation by 2019, which will be achieved through door-to-door initiatives and campaigns in schools.

Clean India Green India Essay

  • 100 Words Essay On Clean India Green India

Clean India and Green India are national programmes aimed at improving the country. In 2014, a campaign called "Clean India" was started—Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan or the Clean India Movement were the other names for this campaign. The programme was launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi by cleaning the streets. With numerous people taking part, this campaign was the biggest one ever. Garbage poses a serious danger to a country's growth and it is also a major threat to success in the modern economy. Industrialization and commercialization have only served to aggravate this issue. Therefore, as responsible citizens of this country, it is our responsibility and duty to do everything to keep our environment clean and green.

Clean India Green India Essay

Our carbon footprint has significantly grown since the Industrial Revolution. Greenhouse gases include carbon dioxide and other exhaust gases from cars and factories. Ironically, life depends on the greenhouse effect, which is a natural occurrence. If this phenomena didn't exist, the earth would swiftly lose heat and freeze. However, if substantial amounts of these gases continue to exist, the greenhouse effect will be amplified.

This may lead to an increase in global average temperatures and the melting of the polar ice caps. As a result, both individuals and the ecosystem suffer from this. The ecology may become unbalanced and endangered animals may go extinct. It can also have negative effects on the climate, often leading to loss of life and property destruction.

It is our duty to keep our surroundings clean, especially any public areas like parks, tourist attractions and restrooms. We should refrain from dumping trash everywhere, whether on the ground or in public spaces. Dustbins should be used in their place to maintain such areas clean. The ideal method to develop this habit is to launch a cleaning campaign in our home, kitchen, living space, and community. It is imperative that we preserve the natural splendour and purity of our surroundings before it is too late.

Clean India Green India is a nationwide effort launched by the Indian government. Mahatma Gandhi, father of the nation, also had a vision for a clean India. People are what make up a nation. Therefore, it is essential to alter public perceptions of the fight against sanitation. Change ought to be implemented logically. Budgets and programmes that prioritise Panchayats and rural communities' sanitation needs should be sufficient. Every Indian citizen should have the vision of a Clean India, Green India. The mission is the ideal development movement for India since it promotes sustainable growth in the nation.

Benefits Of Clean India Green India Campaign

We are less prone to get sick if we maintain ourselves and our surroundings clean. The unclean atmosphere around us promotes diseases like malaria, dengue fever, and others. We must maintain a clean, healthy atmosphere if we want to reduce our risks of becoming ill.

Cleanliness is beneficial to the mind—stress and despair are decreased. It keeps us energised and inspired.

The campaign has lessened open defecation by building individual, group, and public restrooms.

There has been a transform from the unsanitary restrooms into flush restrooms.

A promotion of healthy sanitation habits through behavioural changes and connecting people to sanitation and public health programmes has taken place.

People are now utilising solid waste disposal, reuse, and recycling techniques.

What We Can Do

So, the following are some methods that we use to go green and go clean—

Plastic is one of the main causes of environmental degradation, so it is crucial that we stop using it and replace it with materials based on wood in our houses. To lessen the impact of plastic on the environment, we must also use jute or paper bags rather than plastic ones.

We can always recycle and reuse objects to cut down on waste and pollution in the environment. For example, worn-out and discarded items can be utilised as décor and other things in homes and workplaces.

Clean India Green India- What is it?

Clean India, often associated with the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan,” is a national campaign aimed at cleaning up our cities, towns, and villages. It’s not just about sweeping the streets but involves waste management, sanitation, and public hygiene.

Green India is an initiative to increase green cover, promote sustainable living, and reduce environmental pollution. It involves everything from planting trees to using renewable energy.

Clean India and Green India are like two sides of the same coin. A cleaner India is generally greener—less waste means less pollution, which in turn means a healthier environment. Moreover, a green India is often cleaner, as trees can absorb pollutants and improve air quality.

Clean India Green India Essay in English in 150 words is as follows:

There needs to be a cleanup in India. Garbage and waste pose a severe threat to the country. It unquestionably ruins the visual appeal of our country. It could also result in a variety of problems. Taking out the garbage is easier with a bag made of recycled paper. Therefore, Indians can carry this bag to the trash bin to dispose of their waste.

A community-wide cleaning campaign is a great way to get India clean. It has psychological benefits. This is true because it’s simpler to do something when others are doing it. For instance, the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Indians most likely take great care to maintain their cleanliness. But these same Indians don’t think much about the environment.

Indians don’t care about polluting various types of facilities. To provide every Indian citizen with a sanitary living environment, we must build a clean and green India. Clean India Green India Essay in English 500 words

Clean India Green India Essay in English in 500 words is as follows:

The country of India has to be cleaned up. The nation is seriously threatened by wastes and garbage. It undeniably ruins our nation’s aesthetic appeal. Furthermore, it may lead to a number of disorders. As a result of incorrect trash disposal, many Indians get sick. There are several methods that people can clean up India. First of all, you must always have a little carry bag with you. A recycled paper bag is the best.

Undoubtedly, Indians use it to empty trash cans. Indians probably toss their rubbish on the ground rather than carrying it. But a bag made of recycled paper makes carrying trash simpler. Indians can therefore transport this bag to the trash can to dispose of their garbage. Separating trash is also crucial. A lot of Indians choose to disregard it. The separation of garbage at home should be in three different containers, which is most important. Biodegradable, recyclable, and others are the three bins. The waste management division ought to aid in the implementation of this method.

Indians need to learn to reuse their used plastic goods. Most Indians probably just throw these things aside after using them. To reuse these outdated plastic objects, one needs think outside the box. India can also be cleaned using a compost pit. Compost preparation is aided by a compost pit. There are certain materials needed to build a compost pit at home. These include garden wastes, leaves, grass, and other debris. As a result, this organic debris is transformed into compost by the microbes.

Another fantastic strategy for getting India clean is a community-wide cleanliness initiative. It is advantageous psychologically. This is because doing something when others are doing it makes it easier. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, for instance. Polythene bags are not permitted for usage by Indians. Indians must avoid purchasing veggies from street vendors in polythene bags. Indians are therefore required to bring their own fabric bags when they shop.

Indians probably take great care to keep themselves clean. The same Indians, though, don’t give the environment much thought. Nearly all Indians enjoy keeping their homes spotless, but they don’t care about their nation. Unfortunately, a lot of Indians avoid or neglect to clean the nation. Undoubtedly, this is a tragic circumstance. In terms of waste disposal, Indians are likewise careless. Probably a large number of Indians litter the streets. Indians frequently toss trash on the streets, as a result. As a result, the streets are dirty. Indians are unconcerned with polluting different kinds of facilities. We need to create a clean India and Green India in order to get a hygienic living environment for every citizen of India. In order to achieve such an Environment which is clean and hygienic for everyone, we and you all need to come forward and create awareness for this Clean India Green India.

In conclusion, it can be said that the current attitude of Indians need to change and we need to the rule of cleaning not only ourselves, but also our surroundings. And by doing so, we can achieve our Goal of Clean India Green India.

PM Narendra Modi is pioneering the cause of clean India with ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’.

Below we have provided a short composition on Clean and Healthy India, which helps in paragraph and essay writing competitions.

Essay on Clean India 500 Words in English

We have provided Clean India Essay in English, suitable for class 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10.

“In a gentle way, you can shake the world”~ Mahatma Gandhi .

India is one of the most populated countries in this world. Because we live in a densely populated country, we must keep our society green and clean. Citizens of India should become more mindful of their actions. This way, our country will be healthy. Litter and waste can cause a serious threat to the environment we live in. It invites diseases and disrupts our lives. Improper waste disposal activities, combined with pollution , make us sick.

Moreover, it is the prime reason to destroy the aesthetic charm of a place. Thus, Clean India is what we need at the moment. Recently, there have been a lot of missions that have been undertaken by our government. The Clean India mission is one of them. In Hindi, it translates to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. It is certainly one of the most powerful campaigns India has ever witnessed. Here we are going to discuss the same in a detailed manner.

What is Swachh Bharat Abhiyan?

The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched by India’s Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi on 2nd October 2014 ( Gandhi Jayanti ). This scheme was launched in Delhi on this particular day as a token to honour Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of Clean India. This project is administered by the Indian Government. The intention behind it is to cover all the cities, towns and villages of India and keep them clean.

The Ministry of Urban and Rural Development is responsible for the drive. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has set a lot of goals and achieving these goals will lead towards a greener and cleaner India. Not only are the workers responsible for the cleanliness , but we as citizens must also equally contribute towards the plan. Overall, it is a great initiative that makes us aware of the impact of cleanliness.

Objective of Swachh Bharat Mission

The Clean India mission is one of a kind. It is the first such social movement that happened on a huge scale. The project initially covered 4041 cities and was expected to have a budget of over 1.96 lakh crore. One of the most important aims of it includes building toilets for every household. It also provides sanitation facilities to all the government schools, colleges, and public areas. It helps the municipalities of several areas to provide the people with fresh potable water.

To promote cleanliness, it has offered us with proper drainage systems, bathing facilities, hand pumps, etc. The problem of open defecation in rural areas is quite relevant. This mission wants to eliminate it for good. It helps to change the mindset of the public. When it comes to sanitation, people in our country neglect the waste and throw it outside. This only makes their locality dirty and unhygienic.

It wants to educate citizens about the proper management of household waste. The drive intends to keep the roads, bridges, public places, offices, and other infrastructure clean. A major part of it focuses on the cleanliness of the rivers and forests. The plan of cleaning the Ganga River (in Uttar Pradesh) came under this scheme.

How to Clean India?

If we compare India to the other nations, we realize how dire our country’s condition truly is. Thailand, for example, is contrastingly much cleaner. The attitude of the citizens plays a vital role in the transformation of a country. Thus, we need to have a mission that can eradicate filth and dirt from India. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a great cleanliness drive that considers our well-being. It enhances our living conditions.

Through its objectives, it helps strengthen public health. Since its initiation, we can notice that different places in a locality have been provided with waste collection bins.  People serve to be the key to bringing a massive change of some sort. Together, we can make our country free of dirt and garbage in many ways. Some of these ways have been mentioned below:

  • We can separate the dry and the wet wastes before discarding them from our homes.
  • Segregation of waste (biodegradable, recyclable, and other waste) is very important. Do not ignore it. Most importantly, always throw the trash in the dustbin.
  • Try to carry a recycled paper bag. If you don’t find a bin, you can keep the waste in this paper bag and later dump it in a bin.
  • Reuse plastic items. Make something creative out of it.
  • Prepare a compost pit at home. The plant waste from your kitchen and the dead leaves can be used for compost. This will act as excellent organic manure for the plants in your garden.
  • Start using fabric bags instead of polythene. Always carry these to the market when you are shopping.

India will flourish if all Indians come together and play their part in this drive. No government scheme has ever been successful without the cooperation of the citizens. The Clean India Mission is an important issue that needs our active participation. A cleaner environment is essential to all of us. It is the first step towards prosperity.

A cleaner nation attracts more tourists, and this is a direct input to its economy. Moreover, if India is clean, we will be the first ones to be benefited from it. Devoid of diseases, our health will be promoted. Let us all do our part to take care of ourselves, our families, our friends, and our nation.

Essay on Clean India

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi on 2 October 2014. It was launched to promote cleanliness in society. Till now, it has successfully covered 4041 cities across India. It is one of the important campaigns launched by the Government of India. The ultimate objective is to maintain a healthy and clean environment. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is also known as Clean India Mission or Clean India Drive. It is a national campaign where states are also a part of the mission.

The Concept Behind Such Programs

Cleanliness is our right, and it is also essential whether it is our home, public areas or workplaces. It is one of the basic needs to stay civilised. Therefore, the mission aims to eradicate open defecation throughout the country. Lots of significant efforts have been made since the commencement on October 2, 2014.

As per the statistics, the Government of India has built more than 10 crores of toilets across the country. The motive is to promote proper sanitation and stay healthy. Till now, 36 Indian states have been made defecation free, and the mission is truly on the way to success. It has improved the quality of living among people from many states.

Our government is leaving no stones unturned only to make sure that India becomes cleaner and more hygienic. The scheme has also made people more responsible for sanitation practices. Therefore, we must do our bit to help with the noble mission.

Impacts on Rural Areas

As the campaign was launched to make our country healthier and cleaner, the majority of the missions have had a great impact on the rural areas. In most villages, sanitation programs used to be a far-reaching concept due to the absence of proper toilets. To this day, with the government initiative, things have changed to a better picture both on the rural and urban scale.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has helped small towns in the maintenance drives when it comes to streets and other places. It is not just about our houses, but also to maintain and following the practices when it comes to public places like parks and other areas of tourist attractions. Maintenance of cleanliness not only helps in the improvement of the standard living condition but also provides a positive image when foreigners visit our country.

A Clear Determination of the Objectives

The primary objective of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is to spread awareness of cleanliness and let people understand its importance. The motto is to provide basic sanitation facilities, liquid and solid waste disposal systems, safe and adequate drinking water and supply to overall village cleanliness. The action plan has been laid by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation. A lot of unhygienic approaches have been controlled after 2019. It also has the plan of implementing a complete Open Defecation Free India.

Highlights of Action Plans :

Improvement in the growth percentage of toilets from 3% to 10%.

Increasing the construction of toilets from 14000 to 48000 per day.

Launching a State Level or National Level media campaign through mobile devices, audio-visual, telephone and local programmes.

Involving school children in the activities for spreading the awareness of sanitation, water and hygiene.

The campaign also aims to conduct open sessions and discussions on hygiene and menstrual health, along with the establishment of eco-wash clubs. It does not focus on the problems of pollution, rather points out the side effects of the same and make people more cautious to prevent future difficulties.

Essay on Plastic Free India

Students are often asked to write an essay on Plastic Free India in their schools and colleges. And if you’re also looking for the same, we have created 100-word, 250-word, and 500-word essays on the topic.

Let’s take a look…

100 Words Essay on Plastic Free India

Understanding plastic pollution.

Plastic pollution is a serious issue in India. Every day, millions of plastic items are discarded, causing harm to our environment.

Why Plastic Free India?

A Plastic Free India means a cleaner and healthier country. Plastic is non-biodegradable, meaning it doesn’t break down naturally and can pollute for centuries.

Steps Towards a Plastic Free India

We can take small steps like avoiding single-use plastic, recycling, and promoting eco-friendly alternatives. Schools can play a vital role by educating students about the harmful effects of plastic.

A Plastic Free India is not just a dream, but a necessity for a healthier future. Let’s work together to achieve it.

250 Words Essay on Plastic Free India

Introduction.

India’s plastic pollution problem is a growing concern, with the country generating nearly 26,000 tons of plastic waste daily. The “Plastic Free India” campaign is a crucial initiative aimed at combating this menace.

The Gravity of the Problem

Plastic, a non-biodegradable material, poses severe environmental threats. It chokes our water bodies, harms marine life, and contributes to landfill overload. Furthermore, the burning of plastic releases toxic gases, causing air pollution and health hazards.

Steps towards Plastic Free India

The Indian government has made significant strides in promoting a plastic-free nation. The ban on single-use plastic is a commendable step. However, the enforcement of this ban remains a challenge due to the lack of cost-effective alternatives and awareness.

The Role of Innovation and Technology

Innovation and technology can play a pivotal role in this endeavor. Biodegradable plastic, made from plant-based materials, is a promising alternative. Similarly, recycling technologies can convert plastic waste into valuable products, thus ensuring a circular economy.

Individual Responsibility

The fight against plastic pollution is not solely the government’s responsibility. Each citizen must reduce, reuse, and recycle plastic. Awareness campaigns can help educate individuals about the harmful effects of plastic and the benefits of alternatives.

Plastic Free India is an achievable goal, but it requires collective effort. By embracing eco-friendly alternatives, leveraging technology, and fostering awareness, we can pave the way for a cleaner, healthier, and plastic-free India.

500 Words Essay on Plastic Free India

The concept of a Plastic Free India is not just a vision, but a necessity. The overwhelming use of plastic is a pressing concern, causing significant harm to our environment, ecosystems, and health. The urgency to shift towards sustainable practices and materials is more critical now than ever before.

The Plight of Plastic Pollution

Plastic pollution is a global issue. India, being the second most populated country in the world, contributes significantly to this problem. The country generates nearly 26,000 tonnes of plastic waste daily, of which only about 60% gets recycled. The rest ends up in landfills, water bodies, and streets, causing soil degradation, water pollution, and harm to marine life.

The Health Implication

Plastic is not biodegradable; it breaks down into smaller particles called microplastics, which are consumed by animals and marine creatures, entering the food chain. Humans, being at the top of the food chain, are at risk of ingesting these harmful particles, leading to potential health hazards like cancer, endocrine disruption, and other chronic diseases.

The Vision of a Plastic Free India

In the face of these alarming facts, the vision of a Plastic Free India is not just a noble idea but a survival imperative. This vision encompasses a transition from a linear economy, where we ‘take, make, dispose’ of resources, to a circular economy, where waste is minimized, and resources are continually reused and recycled.

Government Initiatives and Policies

The Indian government has recognized the plastic pollution problem and has taken several steps towards its mitigation. The Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016, and the nationwide ban on single-use plastic are prime examples. However, effective implementation and strict regulation are still a challenge.

The Role of Individuals and Communities

While policy changes are vital, the real transformation lies in individual and community actions. The shift to a Plastic Free India requires a change in mindset, where every citizen understands the implications of plastic use and takes conscious steps to reduce it. This could be as simple as carrying a cloth bag for shopping, refusing single-use plastic, or segregating waste at source.

Technological Innovations and Alternatives

Technological advancements also play a crucial role in achieving a Plastic Free India. Innovations in biodegradable materials, recycling technologies, and waste management systems can significantly reduce our reliance on plastic. The development and promotion of eco-friendly alternatives like jute, cloth, bamboo, and other biodegradable materials can further facilitate this transition.

A Plastic Free India is not just a dream, but a feasible reality that requires collective effort, effective policies, technological innovations, and conscious lifestyle changes. The journey towards this goal will not only protect our environment and health but also pave the way for a sustainable and resilient future. As responsible citizens, let’s pledge to reduce, reuse, and recycle, making India a beacon of sustainability for the world.

Clean India Green India Essay 500 words

A Clean India Green India Essay 500 words is as follows

Maintaining cleanliness is one of the most important parts of maintaining a healthy life. If we are surrounded by litter, filth, and waste, our health deteriorates productivity decreases, increases stress, reduces beauty etc. It also paints an unclean place in a bad picture.

India is developing at an unbelievable speed. Many things, products and services that we enjoy today were unimaginable a few decades ago. But, it has also led to our country becoming extremely unclean due to the huge amount of waste generated each day. The streets all around are full of litter and a strong foul odour can be smelled around that place. India has also performed poorly in the Global Environment Performance Index, falling to 177 position worldwide.

Most of the waste out there is produced by human activity. It consists of both biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste. However, waste generation is not a problem here; it is the careless behaviour of the people that is a problem. Littering is done on quite a large scale in India. Indians usually carelessly throw away waste on the streets in order to keep their houses and shops clean.

Such behaviour by people leads to many problems. First, it makes our streets unhygienic, and many times, too dirty to even walk. Second, it harms stray animals such as dogs and cows, who consume waste such as plastic and paper which harms their bodies. Third, it makes the streets look ugly, decreasing tourism. Fourth, litter also mixes with the soil to affect plant growth in a negative way. Waste mixes in the soil and prevents water from pouring down, hence decreasing the water supply for plants and trees.

It is important to not only keep our cities and country clean but also green. Indian cities rank among the top most polluted cities in the world. Increasing the green cover – a term used to describe the land covered by trees and plants– will increase the level of oxygen in the cities. Lately, various new measures such as plant walls and vertical gardens are used to improve beauty while adding oxygen to the air. Also, trees and plants are planted on the sides of the streets for a long.

Such creative measures are also good for the economy. They increase the beauty of a place, thus attracting more tourists and boosting the economy. They have also created demands for various items such as plants, pots, pot stands etc., thus creating jobs.

The Indian government has launched many initiatives and schemes promoting Clean India Green India, such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan– for the overall cleanliness of the country, Namami Gange (National Mission for Clean Ganga) Programme, Green Skill Development Programme, Toilets before Temples. Additionally, many Parliamentary acts have been passed to help increase green cover, such as Compensatory Afforestation Act. However, the greatest impact can be produced only if the people of India behave responsibly.

Clean India Green India Essay 150 words

A Clean India Green India Essay 150 words is as follows

Our country is a beautiful country, with mountains, beaches, deserts, plains, rivers etc found in abundance. But, as a developing country, India produces a lot of waste. But some waste does not end up in the waste dumps, but on the streets. This is a result of careless behaviour by the people who litter on the streets and make the cities dirty. Such careless behaviour not only makes the streets unclean but tarnishes the image of India.

Keeping India Clean and Green helps us in many ways. It makes people healthy, increases hygiene, and increases beauty. Thus, we must do our bit to keep our cities and country clean and green. We must not litter around and plant more trees and plants. We must also use dustbins to throw waste and learn to differentiate between solid and liquid waste. India can become Clean and Green only when the citizens become responsible.

Waste Management Essay 1 (200 words)

Waste management is the overall process of collection, transportation, treatment and discarding of waste products, sewage and garbage. It also includes other legal, monitoring, recycling and regulating activities.

There are many forms of waste such as solid, gas or liquid and each has different process of disposal and management. Waste management manages different types of waste created by industries, household, commercial activities or natural waste. Large segment of waste management deals with municipal solid waste i.e. the waste created by industries, housing and commercial establishments.

The general concepts of waste management are waste hierarchy, that includes three approaches that are reduce, reuse and recycle. Second is life cycle of product that includes designing, producing, distributing followed by the 3 R’s of waste hierarchy. The third concept is resource efficiency that focuses on efficient use of resources. And the fourth concept is polluter-pay principle where the polluter-party i.e. one who generates waste has to pay for the impact caused to the environment. However, waste management carried on in developing and developed countries, cities and villages varies.

Inefficient waste management has several negative effects on health of living beings, environment and economy for e.g. air pollution, soil contamination, spread of hazardous diseases, etc. Waste management is aimed to reduce the adverse effects of waste on environment, health and the beauty of nature.

Waste Management Essay 2 (300 words)

Introduction

Solid waste management has become a major problem in many underdeveloped, developing and developed countries. The chief causes of increase in municipal solid waste are overpopulation, industrialization, economic growth and urbanization.

Waste management is a global issue but its consequences are more pronounced in developing countries. In India, solid waste management system has failed to keep pace with social and economic development in several regions. The inefficiency in management of municipal solid waste can adversely affect public health, environment and our economy.

Chief Factors Influencing Solid Municipal Waste in India

  • Over population

Over population is the obvious cause for major issues of our country. Increase in population results in increase in solid municipal waste. High population leads to increasing demand of basic resources which leads to waste generation.

  • Urbanization

Increasing population, declining employment opportunities in rural areas and migration from rural areas to enjoy the benefits of urban economic and social growth result in urbanization are some of the other reasons. Urbanization is the major cause for global warming. Industrialization in urban areas produces large amount of waste in the process of production of goods and disposal of goods after use causing waste. In many cities, overcrowding has overwhelmed the capacity of municipal authorities to manage waste.

  • Luxurious Life

The materialistic perception and the need of luxury products have increased immensely to lead a comfortable and luxurious life regardless of whether it is needed or not. This results in more waste generation.

As the technology advances, the demand for new technology raises e.g. mobiles, TV’s, play stations, refrigerators etc. As a result old gadgets and electronics become trash.

Government should initiate awareness campaigns and advertisements informing people about adverse effects of excess waste. New and advanced technology should be used for the disposal of waste. Maximum recycling reuse of the waste should be encouraged.

Waste Management Essay 3 (400 words)

The term waste management means the management from collection of waste to the final stage of disposal. The complete process includes collection, transport, disposal, recycling, monitoring, and regulating along with the legal aspects that enable waste management. It includes all types of waste right from the household waste, industrial waste, agricultural waste, sludge, health care waste and waste due to commercialization. The methods of waste management for different kinds of waste vary.

There are different concepts of waste management and some of the general concepts are as follows:

  • Waste Hierarchy

The hierarchical process of waste management includes reducing, reusing and recycling of waste. The most favorable in the waste hierarchy is to reduce i.e. to avoid the consumption and source reduction followed by reuse and recycle. Let’s have a look at all three approaches of waste hierarchy in detail below:

  • Reduce: The most preferred approach is not to create waste i.e. to avoid over consumption of goods and services, using eco-friendly products and saving energy. It also includes source reduction by reducing the inputs that go in the production process, production of durable goods, energy conservation and use of eco-friendly technology, hybrid transport, etc. It includes energy efficient production, packaging reduction and use of renewable energy sources.
  • Reuse: Reuse is another useful approach to reduce waste. This includes reusing packaging systems which can help in reducing disposable waste. Reuse also includes using second hand products.
  • Recycling: In this process, the used products are recycled into raw materials that can be used in the production of new products. Recycling of the products provides raw materials that are energy efficient, cost effective and less polluting. This also avoids the consumption of new raw materials.
  • Life Cycle of a Product

Life cycle of the product includes policy intervention, rethinking the need of product, redesigning to minimize waste and production of durable goods. The main purpose of the life-cycle of the product is to use the resources to the maximum to avoid unnecessary waste.

  • Resource Efficiency

Economic growth and development cannot be sustained with current patterns of production and consumption. We are overusing our natural resources to produce goods and services. Resource efficiency is the reduction of the negative impact on our environment from the production and consumption of goods. Reducing the use of energy associated in packaging and transport of goods by reusing the products. We are wasting our resources by wasting food, e-waste and wasting water.

  • Polluter Pays Principle

In polluter-pay principle, the polluter party i.e. waste generator pays for the impact caused to environment.

These are the most common factors of waste management. However, the waste management practices of underdeveloped, developing and developed countries are not uniform currently.

Waste Management Essay 4 (500 words)

Waste management is the complete process of handling, processing, transporting, storage, recycling and disposal of human, industrial and environmental waste. Waste management is a global phenomenon but its ramifications are more prominent in developing countries.

Solid waste management which is a very massive task is getting more complicated with rise in urbanization, overpopulation, commercialization, social and economic growth, etc. Institutional fragility, financial constrains and public attitude towards waste management has made the issue even worse.

There are several methods of waste management and some of the most common methods are as follows:

  • Landfills : Throwing away waste and garbage in landfills is the most common method of waste disposal. In this process, the odors and dangers of the garbage are eliminated. The garbage is then buried on the landfill sites. Landfills are also the cause of global warming which is why many countries are reconsidering the use of landfills.
  • Incineration : In this method, municipal solid wastes are buried to convert them into residue, heat, ash, steam and gases. It reduces the volume of solid waste by 30% of the real volume.
  • Recycling : It is the process in which discarded items are recycled for reuse. The waste materials are recycled to extract resources or convert into energies in the form of electricity, heat or fuel.
  • Composting : It is a bio-degradation process in which the organic waste i.e. remains of plants and kitchen waste are converted into nutrient rich food for plants. Composting is the method used for organic-farming that also improves the fertility of soil.
  • Anaerobic Digestion : It is also the process that decomposes organic materials through biological processes. It uses oxygen and bacteria-free environment for decomposing. Composting requires air to aid the growth of microbes.
  • Waste to Energy : In this process, non-recyclable waste is converted into energy sources such heat, fuel or electricity. This is the renewable source of energy as non-recyclable waste can be used to create energy again and again.
  • Waste Minimization : The simplest method of waste management is to create less waste. Waste reduction can be done by you and me by reducing the waste creation and recycling and reusing the old materials. Using eco-friendly products and reducing the use of plastic, paper, etc. is vital. Community participation has a direct impact on waste management system.
  • Gasification and Pyrolysis : These two methods are used to decompose organic waste materials by exposing it to low amount of oxygen and high temperature. No oxygen is used in the process of pyrolysis and very low amount of oxygen is used in process of gasification. Gasification is the most advantageous process as no air pollution is created to recover energy by burning process.

Environmental associations have established several methods in dealing with waste management. Strategies are designed by civic bodies keeping in mind the long term vision. The use of new advanced technologies for treating and disposing solid waste is also initiated. The concept of common waste treatment is being encouraged and promoted as it uses waste as resource as raw material or co-fuel in manufacturing processes.

Waste Management Essay 5 (600 words)

Waste management or waste disposal, include all the activities required to manage waste from its collection to disposal. Other activities are collecting, transporting, handling, supervising, regulating and discarding of waste and other legal procedures. We cannot imagine our environment with the waste chunks all around us spreading diseases and damaging environment. Waste management practices performed efficiently and consistently can benefit immensely. There are various pros and cons of waste management.

Let’s have a look at some pros and cons of waste management:

Pros of Waste Management

  • Keeps the environment clean: The process of waste management helps keep the environment clean though we all as individuals need to participate in keeping our surroundings clean to achieve the goal. Waste management units work to collect the garbage and waste materials from public areas and transport to the landfill sites and other disposal units for its disposal. The odor and gases from the garbage are eliminated before disposal thus the whole process results in keeping the environment clean.
  • Conserves energy: The process of waste management includes recycling. Recycling of the products helps in reducing the production of new products and raw materials. Recycling also helps conserve energy as the process of recycling utilizes less energy.

  • Inter-generational Equity: Effective waste management practices will provide following generations strong economy and clean environment.

Cons of Waste Management

  • Finance: The amount of waste generated is in very large amounts and so the management of it and the overall process needs a lot of planning and implementing of the various tasks. Secondly, lot of manpower and new technologies are needed to manage the various kinds of waste materials. The complete waste management system and the process of reducing, recycling and reusing in an effective manner needs a lot of funding and investment.
  • Health of workers: The process of waste management includes waste of course that attracts many insects, pests, bacteria and microbes, etc that can cause harm to anyone’s health. The landfills are highly prone to bacterial and fungal growth that may cause various diseases making it an unsafe place for workers involved. Harmful gasses are released in the process of burning disposal that spread widely endangering human health. The sites may get contaminated due to inefficient waste management effecting human health.
  • Inefficient waste management: Waste management in developing countries experience fragile waste collection services and inefficiently managed dumpsites. The waste management practices are not uniform in underdeveloped, developing and developed countries. Waste management units are unable to keep pace with increasing amount of waste generation.

Irresponsible discarding of waste and not considering its negative impact on environment and others is wrong. We all are a part of nature and it’s our duty to prevent nature from the hazardous effects of waste. As managing waste is a massive process it begins by keeping your surroundings clean and the rest will be taken care of by waste management units.

Waste management is a matter of concern for our world in the current situation. Poor waste management eventually results in environmental pollution. Due to this extreme concern, many institutions use this context as an essay topic to evaluate their students’ overall comprehension skills. In this lesson, you will learn how to write an essay on waste management. So, let’s get started.

Short Essay on Waste Management in 100 Words

Waste management is one of the significant processes on Earth that leads to sustainable development and habitat. It happens through the reuse and recycling of waste products in our houses, factories, industries etc. At present, the world is facing a severe threat of pollution due to poor waste management.

It is the ultimate need of the hour that wastes must be reduced and reused properly. We on a daily basis produce tons of waste materials that are harmful both for us and the environment. Thus several measures are undertaken through which the wastes accumulated are hence segregated and utilised for better purposes.

Short Essay on Waste Management in 200 Words

Waste management is the call of duty for every 21st-century person on Earth. Wastes are the degradable remnants of our daily activities. It involves household chores, as well as factory dispositions. We are clearly aware of the volume of waste materials that are regularly generated and how carelessly they are disposed of.

Such attention to fewer actions of discarding wastes results in hazards to social and public health including plants and animals. But today waste management is a matter of concern with the increasing population on Earth. The urban expansions, the industrial growth, and the changes in our lifestyle and consumption are also a reason behind this. Waste management takes place through innovations in science and technology and is transformed into a new object of reuse and renovations.

Wastes produced on a daily basis are of several types. It can be solid such as household, laboratory, and industries’ wastes; liquid wastes such as chemicals, sewage, and pipes; and also gaseous wastes like smoke from chimneys of industries, tobacco smells, burning petroleum goods, vehicle emissions, forest fire, and others. Generally, wastes are classified also as biodegradable such as the waste products that come from plants and animals, and non-biodegradable like metals and plastics waste products that cannot be decomposed. All these are rectified through waste management procedures.

Short Essay on Waste Management in 400 Words

Our lives consist of changes and the occurrence of some inevitable situations. Waste production is one such circumstance that cannot be avoided, yet is often considered as the most hazardous effect on the living world and the atmosphere. Waste is something that creates no value and only depreciates our well-being. The basic reason behind the production of waste is the growing civilisation.

The ever-increasing population demands necessities and luxuries for daily use, which in turn generates a huge amount of waste materials. The household produces wastes, industries, factories, vehicles, and laboratories are chief sources of waste production. All these only ends up polluting the environment. The population along with developed lifestyle are again key reasons for waste generation on Earth. Thus urban areas produce a greater amount than rural places due to lesser modernisation of the surroundings and lifestyle.

Waste is unarguably a disaster to humankind and so it needs immediate attention and a proper management system. Ill disposal of wastes results in more than half of the pollution in a heavily populated country like India. In India, corporations and municipal bodies are responsible for maintaining this cleanliness and preserving public health. Generally, wastes are broadly categorised as solids, liquids, and gases. But for a greater facility, it is chiefly divided into biodegradable and non-biodegradable wastes.

Biodegradable wastes include kitchen wastes, sanitary wastes, green wastes, and wastes from shops. But the more harmful form, the non-biodegradable wastes contain plastics, papers, all packaging and containers, metals, glass, rubber that cannot be decomposed naturally. These wastes stay in nature and prolong the harm to not only terrestrial creatures but also aquatic beings.

Hence management of the filth is very important. The general disposal methods may often prove unsustainable and serious. Thus waste management is now the call of the day. It is not just a local phenomenon, but also the attention of the states countries and the globe. This management involves at the base the segregation of the wastes and likewise disposing of it.

The principal method involved here is the method of ‘’ reuse, reduce, and recycle’’. Generally, the domestic wastes can be utilised as vermicompost and fertilizers for plants. But for the non-biodegradable wastes, the process involves a higher system. The waste dealers collect them and deposit them into factories that crush the wastes into pulps and recycles them into different, helpful materials. At present, the globe has engaged in not only recycling but also refusing to use materials that create a huge amount of wastes. Thus waste management is the solution of modern society and way to development.

And achieving a healthy life starts with cleanliness. But somewhere in our country, there is a lack of cleanliness, especially in villages. To counter this problem, Our Prime minister launched a mission called the Clean India mission (Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan) .

This scheme covers a lot of objectives like the elimination of open defecation, an improvement in waste management and cleaning of rivers.

Clean India Mission is a nationwide cleanliness initiative with the sole aim to make India clean, green and healthy. Under this scheme, villages, towns and cities are catered for sanitary facilities like availing potable water to schools, hospitals and other public places, spreading awareness about the importance of cleanliness.

Furthermore, this initiative aims to eliminate the practice of open defecation across the country as India is the country with the highest number of people practising open defecation. Indian government provides monetary help to people who want to build a domestic toilet in their homes.

Apart from this, people from villages and small towns are educated to manage their domestic waste. Two types of Dustbins are placed in such towns and villages with instructions for separating wet and dry waste.

Moreover, the cleaning of rivers also comes under this initiative where goals are set to clean the chief rivers of India within the given period. This initiative not only urges cleaners and sweepers but also the citizens of India. There are two phases of this mission. The duration of the first phase was from 2014 to 2019.

“A clean India would be the best tribute India could pay to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150 birth anniversary in 2019,” These were the words of our prime minister Shri Narendra Modi while launching the second phase of the Clean India mission.

Purpose of Clean India Mission

The main purpose of the Clean India mission is to make India clean and healthy. It is a nationwide campaign aiming to clean up the streets, roads, cities and rural areas. The mission aims to achieve an “ open-defecation free ” India by 2nd October 2019, to achieve universal sanitation coverage and to encourage hygienic sanitation practices.

It aims to promote cleanliness and hygiene holistically and prevent open defecation in rural areas to improve the quality of life in rural areas. It helped people to understand the value of Hygiene and cleanliness.

Impacts of such missions

This mission has positively impacted Indian villages and towns where this mission became the world’s largest toilet-building initiative building around 95 million toilets across rural and urban India.

Just because of this mission, the trend of the number of acute diarrheal diseases was analyzed and found a 54% decrease on average compared to years from 2010 to 2018.

Moreover, the Practice of hygiene and sanitation has improved and so has the rate of exposure to viral diseases.

How Do we make it more effective?

We as a citizen of India can contribute to this mission by doing our duties. We can practise a more efficient and improved version of cleanliness and hygiene. Also, we can spread awareness about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene.

By using modern ways of waste management and treatment, we can also help nature. Recycling waste material can also be useful for us in terms of less use of resources.

Final Words (Conclusion)

In conclusion, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a great initiative taken by the government. It has brought a huge transformation in terms of cleanliness. It has provided a large number of families with domestic toilets. This mission was the vision of The Father of the nation that is now fulfilled by our prime minister.

Essay on plastic pollution in english ( 500 words ), 1. introduction.

Plastic is such a substance that is being used everywhere. Today, nothing is exempt from this.

As much as it has benefited us through bags, furniture, utensils, bottles, boxes, and other accessories, it has also harmed our environment. Its waste has caused a lot of damage to the environment. Its use increased as time passed.

Earlier, when plastic was not used much, it didn’t pose much threat to our environment, but since its use has started making various things, its waste is increasing rapidly, which has become very difficult to dispose of.

Actually, plastic has brought a new type of pollution to the earth. If it’s not taken care of in time, it can become a serious problem in the coming time.

That’s why we should start our efforts to solve it.

2. Effects of plastic pollution

Plastic pollution has had a wide impact on water, land, and all living beings. The faster the use of plastic has increased, the faster its waste too.

3. How to stop plastic pollution?

Although the outbreak of plastic pollution is increasing day by day, if we try to stop it, we can do so by adopting some methods which can prove to be very helpful for us.

Whenever we go to the market, we should avoid plastic bags, instead, we should use bags made of paper, cloth, and leather. At the same time, we should run a campaign at our level not to use plastic items, so that those who know you can also be a part of that campaign and avoid the use of things made of plastic.

Also, if there is any function or party in our house, we should avoid plastic plates, bowls, and glasses, but use utensils made of steel.

If you can’t avoid using plastic, try reusing it. Apart from this, avoid buying new things made of plastic. If you have become accustomed to plastic items, try instead of throwing them away when they are damaged, to sell them at the junk shop so that they can be recycled, it will definitely reduce the plastic waste on the land.

4. Conclusion

Ultimately, the government should ban the use of plastic. Its use on the general public should be completely banned because only we are responsible for spreading plastic waste on land.

Unless it’s done with full responsibility, it’s very difficult to stop it. It’s time that now we should seriously consider it otherwise we won’t be able to escape from its ill effects in the coming time.

Essay on Plastic Pollution in English ( 300 words )

Plastic is used a lot in our daily life. We all use it in different ways, and that’s why we are unable to reduce its use as time is proceeding.

As air pollution, water pollution, and noise pollution are fatal for our environment, in the same way, plastic pollution is also dangerous for it. In earlier times, when the use of plastic was less, there was no problem of pollution caused by it, but today its excessive use is increasing the pollution caused by it.

Its excessive use has affected all living beings whether they’re humans, animals, or trees. It’s a substance that cannot be degraded. When it’s burnt, it increases the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, which is a great threat to the environment.

Along with this, various types of plastic waste are eaten by animals, which adversely affects their health. Due to the toxic substance in it, it’s harmful to them.

Also, plastic waste is responsible for land pollution.

Plastic waste has increased so much that it can be easily seen on the banks of rivers, ponds, and seas. It can neither be broken nor disposed of. It can only be recycled.

In the absence of information, people use it and throw it on the ground outside the house, which gets accumulated in the ground and gets sunk somewhere inside. Therefore, the government should seriously campaign for this so that the pollution caused by it can be stopped and future problems related to it can be dealt with.

Along with government efforts, we should also be aware of the pollution caused by it and try to stop it.

Short Essay on Plastic Pollution in English ( 150 Words )

Plastic is a substance the use of which is increasing day by day. Due to its cheapness, It’s used in various fields. Its excessive use has increased plastic pollution, due to which it’s having a bad effect on our lives.

In fact, plastic cannot be decomposed. Sometimes when it’s burnt, it pollutes the environment in the form of carbon dioxide instead of being destroyed. Along with the increasing use of plastic, its waste is also increasing, which is often seen in ponds and on roads.

Nowadays, plastic bags, plastic glasses, and plastic plates are being used more for many purposes, which we are unable to reduce. Although efforts are being made to ban plastic under various campaigns, it has not been completely eradicated.

Earlier, when plastic was not used so much, there was no plastic pollution but today its excessive use has created a serious problem for our society.

So, it’s very essential to stop it. We must restrain ourselves to use it. Also, we should make others aware of this.

Clean India Green India Essay For Students and Children in 1000 words

Clean India Green India Essay For Students and Children in 1000 words

In this article, read ‘Clean India Green India Essay’ for students and children. It includes the meaning, campaign, 10 lines about the clean India programme.

Table of Contents

Clean India Green India Essay (1000 Words)

Cleanliness is next to godliness . We all seek to have a clean environment as it helps us to be healthy and sound. We all must look over this issue, and it’s our utmost duty to keep our surroundings clean and healthy.

The government has played a pivotal role in achieving the goal of a clean environment and launched 2 national programs—”Clean India and Green India”. Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off this movement by cleaning the roads.

This campaign is commonly known as Swach Bharat Abhiyan or the Clean India Movement. The Green India campaign came into action on the recommendation of the Prime Minister’s council, and it mainly focuses on climate change issues.

Meaning of Clean India Green India

We are all aware of the famous proverb that cleanliness is next to godliness. But we never followed cleanliness properly.

Various benefits are associated with keeping the environment clean and healthy. A clean environment helps to save our endangered species from going extinct. We can breathe clean air in a clean environment.

Clean India Green India should become the dream of every Indian citizen. Many Indians have started to take cleanliness seriously with the launch of the Swach Bharat Abhiyan.

People have now started cleaning their surroundings and correctly disposing of the garbage. But still, we see that many of them are not taking this agenda very seriously.

The beginning of everything requires a kick start. One of the best ways to begin this drive is by cleaning our homes first. After that, we can collaborate with our immediate neighbours and clean the surroundings of our society.

Now the governments are also interfering in this programme. It has started to subsidise the cost of raw materials for the construction of raw materials.

Some steps must be taken by us in this regard:

  • We should carry a recyclable bag when we move out of the house.
  • Do not depend on those plastic non-recyclable bags . We should not throw garbage here and there.
  • Focus on composting the kitchen waste at home, which will lower the garbage volume sent to landfills and also reduce the chance of some products becoming marine debris.

Clean India Campaign

The Clean India campaigns were launched in the year 2014 during Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary. The clean India campaign is also known as Swach Bharat Abhiyan or Swachh Bharat Mission.

The government of India initiated this campaign to eliminate all open defecation. It also aims to improve solid waste management. This programme was launched with a lot of fanfare in the capital city of Delhi.

During the launching event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that cleanliness is a virtue that should be cultivated in every individual. In this event, he moved into a colony, which is the inhabitant site of the sanitation worker, and started to broom to clean a public place.

Clean India Healthy India

India is emerging as a world superpower. We are the largest democratic country in terms of population.

A few years back, Surat, a city in Gujarat, was badly affected and struck by the plague due to the rat-infested garbage heaps. After that incident, the town woke up, and today the city is very spicy and crowded.

In our Indian culture, we emphasise more on the purity of the mind than the purity of the cleanliness of the external environment.

That’s why uncleanliness is a major problem in India. And the people of India are not much worried about the uncleanliness. This uncleanliness is visible in both rural and urban places.

In today’s economy, garbage is the real threat to the development and prosperity of a nation. This problem has increased mainly due to commercialization and industrialization .

Plastic is the only one that makes significant chunks of the waste generated, and the disposal becomes hard.

To deal with these garbage-related issues, the Clean India Campaign was launched, which aims at resolving the problems related to garbage that we face in India. The prime minister’s council also approved green India’s mission climate change .

The main agenda of this Green India campaign is to combat climate change and its negative repercussions. The goal is achieved by planting a large number of trees in the forest and the town’s neighbouring areas to increase the rate of carbon dioxide sequestration.

In this way, the maximum amount of carbon dioxide is absorbed from the atmosphere and stored in the trees. This helps in reducing the carbon footprint on the earth.

10 Lines on Clean India Green India Essay

  • Clean India Green India means cleaning every street, village, and city in India.
  • The Clean India Campaign and Green India Campaign are 2 programmes launched by the government of India to assist the cleaning.
  • Citizens of India should focus on this clean India campaign and use jute bags or paper bags instead of poly bags.
  • Clean India helps to keep India healthy and clean, and for that, a proper sewerage system is also necessary.
  • The excessive use of plastic is deteriorating India. That’s why the first step to cleaning India is saying no to plastic use.
  • The government also put forward efforts in the direction of solid waste management by sending sanitary workers with vans to every house for the collection of household garage.
  • These vans also raise awareness of wet and dry waste. Wet waste includes biodegradable waste, and it includes all the cooked and uncooked material.
  • Dry waste is non-biodegradable waste and it includes metal, leather, plastic, glasses, and rubber wire.
  • Dry waste is collected in a blue-colored dustbin while the wet or biodegradable waste is thrown into a green-colored dustbin.
  • The clean India programmes aim at raising awareness of the open defecation system.

India will flourish if all the Indians come together and participate in this waste management and cleanliness programme. The government scheme can only succeed in this clean India initiative until and unless the citizens cooperate with the government.

This mission can only become successful with our active participation. A clean and healthy environment is the first step toward prosperity and is essential for us.

A clean and healthy nation attracts tourists, which will directly provide input to the Indian economy.

We will be the first ones to benefit once this programme becomes successful. Our health will be promoted. We will all be devoid of diseases. We should take care of our nation the way we take care of our family and friends .

Lastly, a clean, India Healthy and Green India should be our prime focus area, and we must participate actively in this program.

I hope you liked this informative essay on clean India green India.
