This is a disgusting movie .

I had to watch the one with Spanish voices, and well what to say… it’s so bad . The script is really bad and I feel like the Spanish voices don’t help at all, that kind of voices that don’t fit good with the personality of the characters.

It’s about diamonds, betrayal and revenge .

It has an average premise, it’s nothing new, characters are not interesting and dialogues are so silly . Acting sucks and there are scenes that have no sense. This movie as a whole is really really bad and boring. I felt sometimes that they really wanted to make it look this stupid, it’s hard to do it by mistake.

It’s sad since the cast looks good, 50 Cent , Bruce Willis … whatever, don’t get fooled, skip it .

Not recommended movie .

"You mean to tell me I paid a dollar for a 50 cent movie?" - my dad after buying this DVD for one dollar and watching it. See, 'cause 50 Cent is in it. My dad's joke was the best thing about watching this movie. My dad is funny. There was this one time he made a joke about a movie - wait, I already told you the joke. I can't remember his other jokes right now. Anyway this isn't a very good movie. I didn't care for it and neither did my mom.

Okay this was going to get half a star but once 50 Cent gets comfortable in his lead role, it becomes a pretty fun film, despite its flaws (there are many, many, many).

Nothing better than finding some good old straight-to-video shit on Netflix.

Bruce Willis’ mob boss was fun at least.

A feeble, generic plot and a terrible script. Philippe doesn't seem to have read his lines before saying them. Willis, as you might expect, barely features. Only Fiddy does ok.

A film blessed by god—a story of redemption. Filled with graceful miracles like Bruce Willis asking 50 Cent, “Are you retarded?”

Found this on Netflix.

Very strong B Level recognizable cast and somewhat decent plot keep this movie afloat barely.

Per Wikipedia (and I believe it) this movie went direct to DVD. I can't imagine this went to theatres.

It was produced by and stars 50-Cent and the backing cast is Bruce Willis and Ryan Phillippe with cameos by Jena Dewan-Tatum and Randy Couture.

Three friends rob a diamond supplier and Vince turns on his friends killing one and wounding the other. Sonny wants revenge and ends up working for a mob boss and sets up Vince to take the fall for everything that's gone wrong.

Lots of hilarious dialogue that isn't meant to be funny but it is because of…

I definitely see why people want to rag on Bruce Willis DTV movies.  The problem is they are expecting Die Hard with Bruce Willis, and instead they get Setup with 50 Cent.  I like that Bruce is not the main character, it gives him the freedom to do what he wants.  He’s good.  Ryan Phillippe, James Remar and Randy Couture are also in this and they’re good too.  Not great, but good.  It’s a DTV movie, don’t go in expecting the next big Hollywood blockbuster and you might actually find that you don’t hate it.  2 1/2 stars seems like it might be low, but it’s watchable, and if all the upcoming Bruce Willis DTVs have fun supporting casts, then I could find worse ways to spend my time.

Bruce Willis Paycheck-Movies #8

2/3-lang ist SET UP wenigstens guckbare Dutzendware, danach doof überfrachtet. Auch hier wieder aber kein Rohrkrepierer.

Now streaming on:

Set in the upper echelons of New York business, but focusing on a couple of overworked, stressed-out assistants, "Set it Up" is a rare romantic comedy that has its own distinctive look, rhythm, and storytelling voice. It builds its sensibility on deep knowledge of the romantic comedy, from " The Apartment " and "It Happened One Night” to " The Parent Trap " and " Cyrano de Bergerac " (mentioned by the two main characters, who trick their bosses into falling in love so they can have a moment's peace). It's satisfying, for the most part—a solid romantic comedy with sharp dialogue, amusing characters, a soundtrack of well-worn feel-good hits, and a few surprises up its sleeve. Its only major flaw is an inability to imagine the bosses as richly as the leads. But we'll get to that.

Harper ( Zoey Deutch ) is an assistant to Kirsten ( Lucy Liu ), a famous and fearsome ESPN reporter. Harper wants to be a writer but can't muster the nerve to follow through on her one good idea; on top of that, her days are so long than whenever she does try to write, she's so tired that "everything I write is, like, bad ." Charlie (Glen Powell) is an assistant to Rick ( Taye Diggs ), a Tom Wolfe Master-of-the-Universe type whose job never quite comes into focus but definitely involves huge sums of money.

The bosses' employers are located in the same building, which allows Charlie and Harper to meet cute in the lobby one late night. Harper orders food for her boss without realizing the restaurant is cash-only. Charlie, who just missed the cutoff to order his boss' favorite steak, spots an opportunity to redeem himself, pays for the order, and claims the whole thing; this leads to a charming negotiation that splits up the food, and ultimately to a shared realization that if they can trick their Type A bosses into falling in love, they might get their lives back. "It's hard to bark orders at someone when your tongue is down someone's throat," Harper says.

Harper just signed up for Tinder and is going out on lots of dates, and Charlie is devoted to a gorgeous but materialistic girlfriend ( Joan Smalls ) who doesn't appreciate him. But the two spend so much time together plotting their bosses' romance that they become close friends, and there are moments where they click so well that you can sense them laboring to deny the obvious. Director  Claire Scanlon and screenwriter Katie Silberman are able to imagine these two as both credible human beings and classic romantic comedy types (Charlie is young Jack Lemmon poured into a tall preppy frame, while Deutch can remind you of either Ellen Page or Diane Keaton , depending on the scene and how fast she's talking).

The leads bring such strong comic chops and have such chemistry that there's a chance we might have been smitten even if Silberman hadn't provided them with wannabe-iconic scenes to play, including one that originates in the conviction that pizza is the most romantic food. Their shared sense of humor is built on deadpan delivery and insulting remarks that are really secret statements of camaraderie. Charlie and Harper fall into a mutually satisfying relationship so fast that you start to imagine the old married couple they could become, if only the stars would align.

The ensuing plot complications enrich the movie, even as they suggest fresher roads that the film rarely musters the nerve to explore. One of these is the physically and emotionally draining aspects of capitalism. "Set it Up" is as much a film about work as it is a romantic comedy. People on the lower rungs of the film's economic ladder often seem exasperated by their mistreatment by customers and clients, while people on the higher rungs are obsessed with money and status and are often unknowingly condescending towards people below them (notice how how Charlie's conversations keep circling back to getting promoted, and how Harper keeps finding herself without money to pay low-wage workers who probably earn only slightly less than she does). The script seems forever on the verge of combining all these details into a grand statement, probably a satirical one. But it never happens, and you're left wondering if the movie softened its own edges so as not to scare anyone off.

The film's vision of a diverse city is more tantalizing and frustrating. It's a treat to see Liu and Diggs cast in the kinds of abrasive, magnetic parts that have traditionally gone to white character actors (think of Fred MacMurray in "The Apartment" or Meryl Streep in " The Devil Wears Prada "). Both carry themselves with crowd-pleasing swagger. They're aided by Silberman's recurring gags, such as Kirsten barking "Tell me something I don't know!" at her writers, and Rick coveting outward signifiers of wealth (he throws out any liquor that costs less than $200) and making sudden, demanding requests of Charlie. Liu and Diggs look like they're having a blast, and the payoff of Kirsten and Rick's relationship is the most unexpected note in the movie.

But aside from a scene of Rick reverting to a less polished persona while drunkenly bonding with Charlie, and a humanizing moment where we realize that Kirsten recognizes great potential in Harper and genuinely thinks of her as her pupil, the characters never give the actors as much as the actors give the characters. And we never gain a sense of what it means for these two to be in charge of—and yet isolated within —a predominantly white workplace. They armor themselves with flamboyant aggression, and convince their employees (and themselves) that they prefer brooding isolation to human contact. This is the sort of behavior a 1990s movie yuppie character might exhibit. But it plays differently on characters who are African-American and Chinese-American, and therefore had to fight their way into a corporate workplace that welcomed most white people of a certain social class. (We probably shouldn't even get into the alternate universe version of "Set it Up" where Kirsten and Rick are the leads and Harper and Charlie are supporting.)

Rick + Kirsten wouldn't feel like such a missed opportunity if "Set it Up" weren't so evidently comfortable writing supporting characters of different races and ethnicities; giving every actor with a speaking role something memorable to do, even if they're onscreen for less than a minute; and filling each role with a performer who sticks in your mind. ( Meredith Tucker , who has cast many vivid ensembles , does wizardly work here.) You expect "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" costar  Tituss Burgess to excel playing a creepily over-invested building employee who gets drawn into Charlie and Harper's scheme; but lesser known players register just as strongly, in particular  Jeff Hiller as a mistreated waiter, Evan Park as a doorman with a spiritually exhausted glare, and Sonia Denis as a ring salesperson who sees a relationship-changing argument unfold in front of her.

They all reminded me of one the biggest small parts in any film, Nada Despotovich as the bakery employee in " Moonstruck " who witnesses' Nicolas Cage's meltdown and blurts out , "That is the most tormented man that I have ever known. I'm in love with that man. But he doesn't know that. I never told him, because he can never love anybody since he lost his hand and his girl."

There's so much life in this movie that I wanted it have even more. But it's still bursting with talent.

Glen Powell and Zoey Deutch ooze chemistry in this under-appreciated romcom about two overworked assistants trying to set up their bosses

  • Get our weekend culture and lifestyle email

W orking long into the night for their Machiavellian bosses, a serendipitous meet-cute brings two beleaguered assistants together. There is Harper ( Zoey Deutch ), who dreams of making it as a writer like her boss, gun sports editor Kirsten Stevens ( Lucy Liu , accurately described as having “a fierceness that’s both scary and inspiring”).

And there is Charlie ( Glen Powell ), who is desperate for a promotion, hoping to impress not only his boss, unscrupulous VC power player Rick Otis ( Taye Diggs , revelling in his role as an arrogant jerk) but also his materialistic model girlfriend Suze (actual Victoria’s Secret model Joan Smalls).

The two exhausted subordinates devise a plan to deploy some Cyrano-adjacent tactics on their single bosses, hoping that, in the fog of new love, Rick and Kirsten will reward Harper and Charlie with promotions – and some much-needed time-off so they can pursue their own love lives. But as Harper and Charlie are busy Parent Trapping their bosses into falling in love, their best friends Duncan and Becca (Pete Davidson and Meredith Hagner) are subtly attempting to do the same to them. It is Cyrano-ception.

Deutch (more recently seen flexing her comedic chops in the 2022 influencer satire Not Okay ) bursts onto the screen with movie star magnetism. Combining moxie and vulnerability, Deutch infuses Harper with both determination and tender sensitivity in her quest for professional and personal fulfillment. In another actor’s hands, Harper could have been annoyingly earnest, but Deutch has endearing girl-next-door relatability.

And Powell continually surprises with his impressive comedic work (at times akin to the early work of Jim Carrey, without ever mugging for the camera). His comic chops could have easily been overshadowed by his boyish charm and matinee idol looks; instead, they are among his strongest assets. He is particularly delightful when delivering a line with sarcasm, while producing a thousand subtle facial expressions, each somehow unique to the rest.

It’s this duality of Charlie’s cynicism and Harper’s optimism that results in the perfect sparring partnership. Deutch and Powell both ooze charisma, harkening back to the iconic rom-com pairing of Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell in His Girl Friday.

Deutch and Powell similarly bounce around their offices both physically and verbally, with both actors given plenty of chances to demonstrate their mastery of physical comedy.

With so much immediate chemistry vibrating between Deutch and Powell, the director, Claire Scanlon, makes the astute decision to not give the characters many opportunities to look directly at one another in their first few scenes together. As their relationship deepens, so too does their eye contact. It’s a clever tactic in a movie that’s built around connections in a fast-paced world.

The backbone of the film is its spunky screenplay by screenwriter Katie Silberman who went on to pen Booksmart and Don’t Worry Darling. Silberman’s saucy screenplay subverts expectations of an often derided genre – there is some rapid-fire dialogue, quotable one-liners (Powell delivers an unforgettable, drunken ode to pizza you won’t soon forget) and a couple of surprise C-bombs from Liu.

We now find ourselves in somewhat of a rom-com-naissance: Anyone But You, also starring Powell, took in a staggering US$219m at the global box office earlier this year, while To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, Palm Springs and Always Be My Maybe have dominated streaming charts.

But this hasn’t always been the case. “We did hear a lot, ‘We love the script, but romantic comedies are hard’,” Set It Up producer Juliet Berman told the Hollywood Reporter in 2018. “People have always wanted these types of movies but for a while, they just weren’t made. There was a vacuum.” And yet, Set It Up already feels like it belongs among the classics of the genre.

Jsaux FlipGo review: “A portable monitor that leans more towards productivity than gaming”

Jsaux FlipGo connected to Steam Deck on desk with GamesRadar+ home page and Steam Big Picture displayed

GamesRadar+ Verdict

The Jsaux FlipGo is a fantastic portable dual monitor for anyone looking to boost productivity, and it handles games nicely too. That said, it’s probably worth investing in this one if you need a secondary set of screens rather than a bona fide mobile display for gaming on-the-go.

Dual QHD screens

Plenty of ports

Single cable connectivity via USB-C

No built-in battery

More for productivity than gaming

Why you can trust GamesRadar+ Our experts review games, movies and tech over countless hours, so you can choose the best for you. Find out more about our reviews policy.

When I first heard that the Jsaux FlipGo was a thing, I was immediately worried that the Steam Deck accessory maker was stepping outside its comfort zone. Even screen makers don’t always strike the right balance when making portable monitors, so this stacked dual display setup felt a bit too ambitious for my liking. However, I actually ended up vibing with what the setup has to offer during testing, even if some touches feel a bit rough around the edges.

Starting at $399 (roughly £322), the Jsaux FlipGo isn’t remotely a budget portable monitor solution. At least, it isn’t what I’d recommend if you’re just looking to extend your gaming handheld screen, as there are plenty of other options out there for that. What this package does deliver is maximizing vertical productivity space without much clutter, meaning it could make the perfect streaming setup addon or an extension to your collapsible gaming laptop battle station.

During my time with the FlipGo, I’ve been coming up with different use cases. I’m not sure why Jsaux’s first screen isn’t designed to pair with something like the Steam Deck OLED , but I do see how offering a stacked display could set the accessory maker apart from its competition. That said, there are a few missing perks from the overall package that would place the dual monitor in pole position, and some players may end up looking elsewhere as a result.

Specs

The FlipGo model I’ve been testing is the 13.5-inch ‘Pro’ model which boasts 2256 x 1504 dual panels running at 60Hz. Comparatively, the only difference between this version and the standard edition is DisplayLink support and an Ultraview mode, both features that’ll help wield command over output configurations.

To gain features like touchscreen support, you’ll have to opt for a specific model with the right panel. You’ll end up with the same specs, and I honestly would have preferred if touch support was included as a base feature. Still, at least it’s an option you can go for if you’d rather use your fingers to navigate menus, whereas desktop users can stick with the standard version.

As for ports, the FlipGo somewhat spoils us with three USB-C ports, a double serving of USB-A, and even Mini HDMI. The former USB-C ports are labeled up with specific functions, as one will dish out a DisplayPort signal while the others are designed to handle peripherals and receive power. Essentially, the configuration will allow for hooking devices up via a single cable, rather than using multiple wires or an additional Steam Deck dock.

Sadly, the FlipGo doesn’t come with a built-in battery, so you’ll need to rely on a power bank if you want to truly go off-grid with it. The fact it uses USB-C for power means you will be able to pair it with something like the Jsaux 20000mAh , with its 65W output matching the adapter that comes with the set. I’d personally aim for a higher wattage to support anything that’s also connected, but your setup needs may vary.

Saying that the FlipGo looks like two laptop screens sandwiched together feels uninspired, but that is exactly what Jsaux has conjured up. At a glance, it almost looks like my 2021 Asus TUF Dash F15 , but it does come with an aggressively orange cover that’ll prevent any device mixups. Removing the protective pad reveals an aluminum body paired with plastic bezels, a combination that feels rigid and robust without adding too much heft.

I’m not sure whether Jsaux is planning on providing additional colorways, but permanently ditching the included might not be the best idea. There’s a specific section of the monitor’s hinge where a ribbon cable is just about visible, and I suspect the case plays a part in shielding that. On top of that, Jsaux has added a magnetic strip to one of the sides to bolster additional accessory support, and I feel like it’s a little janky-looking without anything attached.

I even managed to get in a few hours using my PC Engine Mini with the screen, and I could see myself using it for a camping trip.

Speaking of which, the FlipGo is designed to pair with multiple accessories, including a magnetic adjustable stand, VESA mount, and folio covers. All of these options provide Jsaux’s screen with a means to stand, as you’d otherwise have to open it up like a laptop with the button panel lying flat. I’ve been using the pedestal stand for this review, and that magnetic strip boosts the experience of using add-ons thanks to its exceptional strength. I’m very much on board with being able to snap things into place on the fly, and I can imagine using different methods depending on where I’m working.

As for the inputs and buttons, you’ll find everything you’ll need spread across the left and right sides. Unfortunately, the ports are accompanied by a horrible rocker-style menu switch that I haven't had to deal with since working in a TV store in the early 2010s. The idea is that you’re meant to rock back and forth to navigate and push inwards to select, and the whole experience just feels nasty on the thumbs. I thankfully didn’t feel much need to head into the system menu much since there’s an additional toggle for input selection, but I’m horrified that the switch type is still a thing in 2024.

Features

Slapping two laptop screens together is all fine and well, but making the pairing useful requires reliable features. This is something Jsuax has clearly thought hard about when creating the FlipGo, resulting in a setup that can accommodate various display preferences. I would argue it’s a portable monitor that leans more towards productivity than gaming, so that’s worth keeping in mind when considering the following perks.

One of the things I love most about the FlipGo is its single-cable approach to connectivity. It’s actually something that’s included with many of the best gaming monitors to arrive in 2024, with the likes of the Philips Evnia 42M2N8900 and even the cheaper KTC G27P6 providing integrated USB-C hubs for power and display input. Naturally, the first thing I itch to do with this kind of setup is hook up my Steam Deck, but it’s a bigger boon for those of you with full-blown laptop setups paired with plenty of peripherals.

The fact that the FlipGo also wields Mini HDMI cable support is pretty spectacular, as it effectively means you can hook up a wider variety of devices. I’d hesitate to refer to Jsaux’s screen as a PS5 monitor since it’ll only use one of the panels, but the option is still there if you happen to own a new-gen console. I even managed to get in a few hours using my PC Engine Mini with the screen, and I could see myself using it for a camping trip.

Jsaux FlipGo with Tomb Raider 2 menu spread across both screens

The rest of the heavy lifting in the FlipGo features department is performed by the screen’s scaling abilities. By toggling the left-hand side button, you’ll be able to choose whether your connected device spreads itself across both displays, splits into separate desktops, or uses a single panel. Practical uses for this include having an additional two screens for your laptop, something that could be handy if you want to play games and still have Discord to hand when on the go.

As for me, I decided to make a real-life Tiktok brain rot setup, complete with some Subway Surfers action and classic Family Guy episodes at the bottom. Yes, this is incredibly silly, but it does demonstrate the fact you can use a handheld to pull off this sort of multitasking using the FlipGo. The whole point is that if you’re using Windows or Linux, you’ll be able to dial things in the same way as if you had two full-blown monitors to hand.

Performance

Jsaux FlipGo with Tomb Raider Remastered gameplay on bottom screen

Visually, the Jsaux FlipGo holds up really well, providing respectable contrast levels for a dual IPS setup. Brightness levels feel up to par too, despite the fact we’re talking about two panels running on 65W. I even managed to get some time in with Tomb Raider Remastered Trilogy next to a large window during the day, and both screens punched through without losing vibrance.

It’s important to hammer home that we are talking about 60Hz screens here, and the 3:2 double-stacked layout is begging to handle apps over games. I’m planning on properly getting back into Twitch streaming this year, and while I tend to prefer single monitor setups these days, I can see myself pitching up a FlipGo whenever the need arises. Each display’s QHD resolution makes text nice and viewable at a glance, not to mention there’s a whole other panel there for OBS bits and bobs.

One quirk I did come across during use relates to using the Steam Deck, specifically in gaming mode. For whatever reason, the top display has trouble syncing the Deck’s output, leading it to blink on and off. Toggling it to appear on the bottom screen seems to fix the issue, but it does mean you’ll have to use desktop mode if you’d prefer to play on the upper display.

Should you buy the Jsaux FlipGo?

Ultimately, the Jsaux FlipGo caters to portable dual monitor productivity over on-the-go gaming, but still successfully pulls off both endeavors. While there are portable screens that’ll provide you with a built-in battery and faster refresh rate, having two panels at your disposal is arguably an acceptable trade-off.

At its current price, the FlipGo isn’t particularly budget-friendly, so that’s also worth keeping in mind if you’re trying to keep costs low. That said, most other options at Amazon right now aren’t much cheaper, and we are talking about two displays in one compact package.

Please note that the Jsaux FlipGo has an ongoing kickstarter page , but stock should arrive at storefronts soon.

How I tested the Jsaux FlipGo

For around a month, I used the Jsaux FlipGo as both a secondary screen and a way to play games on the go. During that time I used the dual display to run apps like Discord and Spotify with my laptop and PC, while also using it to enlarge playspace with the Steam Deck for games like Tomb Raider Remastered Trilogy.

I’ve been messing around with PCs, video game consoles, and tech since before I could speak. Don’t get me wrong, I kickstarted my relationship with technology by jamming a Hot Wheels double-decker bus into my parent’s VCR, but we all have to start somewhere. I even somehow managed to become a walking, talking buyer’s guide at my teenage supermarket job, which helped me accept my career fate. So, rather than try to realise my musician dreams, or see out my University degree, I started running my own retro pop culture site and writing about video games and tech for the likes of TechRadar, The Daily Star, and the BBC before eventually ending up with a job covering graphics card shenanigans at PCGamesN. Now, I’m your friendly neighbourhood Hardware Editor at GamesRadar, and it’s my job to make sure you can kick butt in all your favourite games using the best gaming hardware, whether you’re a sucker for handhelds like the Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch or a hardcore gaming PC enthusiast.

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — A movie weapons supervisor was sentenced to 18 months in prison in the fatal shooting of a cinematographer by Alec Baldwin on the set of the Western film “Rust,” during a hearing Monday in which tearful family members and friends gave testimonials that included calls for justice and a punishment that would instill greater accountability for safety on film sets.

Movie armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was convicted in March by a jury on a charge of involuntary manslaughter in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and has been held for more than a month at a county jail on the outskirts of Santa Fe. Prosecutors blamed Gutierrez-Reed for unwittingly bringing live ammunition onto the set of “Rust,” where it was expressly prohibited, and for failing to follow basic gun safety protocols.

Gutierrez-Reed was unsuccessful in her plea for a lesser sentencing, telling the judge she was not the monster that people have made her out to be and had tried to do her best on the set despite not having “proper time, resources and staffing.” Gutierrez-Reed plans to appeal the judgement and sentence, defense attorney Jason Bowles said in an email.

Baldwin, the lead actor and co-producer for “Rust,” was pointing a gun at Hutchins during a rehearsal on a movie set outside Santa Fe in October 2021 when the revolver went off, killing Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza.

Baldwin has pleaded not guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter. He is scheduled for trial in July at a courthouse in Santa Fe.

The sentence against Gutierrez-Reed was delivered by New Mexico Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer, who is overseeing proceedings against Baldwin. The judge said anything less than the maximum sentence would not be appropriate given that Gutierrez-Reed’s recklessness amounted to a serious violent offense.

“You were the armorer, the one that stood between a safe weapon and a weapon that could kill someone,” the judge told Gutierrez-Reed. “You alone turned a safe weapon into a lethal weapon. But for you, Ms. Hutchins would be alive, a husband would have his partner and a little boy would have his mother.”

Gutierrez-Reed teared up as Hutchins’ agent, Craig Mizrahi, spoke about the cinematographer’s creativity and described her as a rising star in Hollywood. He said it was a chain of events that led to Hutchins’ death and that if the armorer had been doing her job, that chain would have been broken.

Friends and family recalled Hutchins as courageous, tenacious and compassionate — a “bright beam of light” who could have gone on to accomplish great things within the film industry.

“I really feel that this was due to negligence,” Steven Metz, a close friend, testified. “This case needs to set a precedent for all the other actors, and cinematographers and every one on set whose lives are at risk when we have negligence in the hands of an armorer, a supposed armorer.”

Los Angeles-based attorney Gloria Allred read a statement by Hutchins’ mother, Olga Solovey, who said her life had been split in two and that time didn’t heal, rather it only prolonged her pain and suffering. A video of a tearful Solovey, who lives in Ukraine, also was played for the court.

“It’s the hardest thing to lose a child. There’s no words to describe,” Solovey said in her native language.

The Ukrainian relatives of Hutchins are seeking damages in her death from Baldwin in connection with the shooting. Allred said after Monday’s hearing that the family supports his criminal prosecution.

Defense attorneys for Gutierrez-Reed requested leniency in sentencing — including a possible conditional discharge that would avoid further jail time and leave an adjudication of guilt off her record if certain conditions are met.

Gutierrez-Reed was acquitted at trial of allegations she tampered with evidence in the “Rust” investigation. She also has pleaded not guilty to a separate felony charge that she allegedly carried a gun into a bar in Santa Fe where firearms are prohibited.

Defense attorneys have highlighted Gutierrez-Reed’s relatively young age of 26 “and the devastating effect a felony will have on her life going forward,” arguing that she will forever be affected negatively by intense publicity associated with her prosecution in parallel with an A-list actor.

Special prosecutor Kari Morrissey urged the judge to impose the maximum prison sentence and designate Gutierrez-Reed as a “serious violent offender” to limit her eligibility for a sentence reduction later, describing the defendant’s behavior on the set of “Rust” as exceptionally reckless.

Morrissey told the judge Monday that she reviewed nearly 200 phone calls that Gutierrez-Reed had made from jail over the last month. She said she was hoping there would be a moment when the defendant would take responsibility for what happened or express genuine remorse.

“That moment has never come,” Morrissey said. “Ms. Gutierrez continues to refuse to accept responsibility for her role in the death of Halyna Hutchins.”

The judge indicated that summary transcripts of Gutierrez-Reed’s telephone conversations from jail weighed in the sentencing.

“Hannah says that people have accidents and people die, it’s an unfortunate part of life but it doesn’t mean she should be in jail,” Marlowe Sommer said. “The word ‘remorse’ — a deep regret coming from a sense of guilt for past wrongs — that’s not you.”

Defense attorneys argued Monday that Gutierrez-Reed was remorseful and had breakdowns over Hutchins’ death. They also pointed to systemic problems that led to the shooting.

“Rust” assistant director and safety coordinator Dave Halls last year pleaded no contest to negligent handling of a firearm and completed a sentence of six months unsupervised probation. “Rust” props master Sarah Zachry, who shared some responsibilities over firearms on the set, signed an agreement with prosecutors to avoid prosecution in return with her cooperation.

The pending firearms charge against Gutierrez-Reed stems from an incident at a Santa Fe bar, days before she was hired to work as the armorer on “Rust.” Prosecutors say investigations into the fatal shooting led to the discovery of a selfie video in which Gutierrez-Reed filmed herself carrying a firearm into the bar, while defense attorneys allege vindictive prosecution.

The spelling of the judge’s name has been corrected to Mary Marlowe Sommer, instead of Summer.
