This study examines the perception of Humanities and Social Science teachers among public Senior High Schools in the Department of Education’s Humanities and Social Sciences strand in the Philippines. It uses Erden’s element-based model of evaluation by considering the alignment to the goals of the Humanities and Social Sciences disciplines, the purpose, and core courses of the program, and the teaching-learning process. It also uses Tyler’s Rationale as frameworks in assessing the curriculum. Likewise, the study examines the problems and difficulties in curricular implementation. Upon administering a survey to 25 Humanities and Social Science teachers among four public senior high schools, data revealed that the respondents perceived the curriculum goals, and the purpose of the program as highly observed, while the core courses of the program and teaching-learning process were satisfactorily observed in the curriculum. Also, sex and age were not factors in their level of assessment of Humanities and Social Science goals. The problems and difficulties encountered by teachers included unbalanced time allocation of learning competencies, lack of available learning materials, and lack of specialized teachers. Based on the findings, it is suggested that the government provide stronger teacher support programs to address the gap in curriculum implementation. The K to 12 program also needs a full review, as the study only provides a presurvey to more significant institutional issues. While the Humanities and Social Science curriculum appears aligned with the goals of their disciplines, and to the country’s educational goals, its realization still depends upon the teachers’ implementation in the classroom level.

Discipline plays an important role in the success of every learner and is considered as a crucial part of the educational process. Undesirable behaviors in the classroom should be interrupted to ensure a smooth flow during the educational process. This study aimed to identify the undesirable pupils’ behaviors in the academic classroom of Oyan Elementary School. This paper, determines best practices of teachers of all content areas and grade levels to address misbehavior among elementary school pupils in the school where the researcher is presently engaged. The results of the study has shown that majority of the intermediate pupils observed were female aged 12-13. The intermediate pupils’ academic performance in communication Arts-English, Mathematics, EPP and HKS were found to below average while they had an average performance in Communication Arts-Filipino. The pupils’ undesirable behaviors were found by the teachers as sometimes manifested due to the ineffective practices used by teachers in meeting pupils with undesirable behavior. On the basis of the findings and conclusions, the school administrators are recommended to update teachers along the lines of meeting pupils with problems, the effective styles used and the possible outcomes so that there could be behavior modification among the pupils exhibiting behavior problem. Teachers may equip themselves with the necessary traits of being a guidance counselor through attending seminars related to guidance and counseling. Home visitations may be done by the teachers to afford a workable atmosphere between teachers and parents regarding pupils’ attitudes. Periodic evaluation on the degree of accomplishment of teachers as to behavior modification implementation may be undertaken.

High school students are in the stage of Adolescence and it is the time for developing independence. Typically, adolescents exercise their independence by questioning and sometimes by breaking rules. Parents and teachers must play a major role in supporting & influencing the children positively by their ethical & appropriate approaches. Teachers in school as well as parent at home, often wonder how to disciple a child and to mould their behaviour so to bring up the child with virtues. Although some children truly have challenging behaviours regardless of what strategies to try, many children just need to have the adults in their lives make changes in the way they react, respond, or interact with them. It is also a great responsibility of the teacher in school to have positive approach towards students. If not there are possibilities in change of behaviour among students & leads to several problems. For example, frequent episodes of fighting, scholastic backwardness, substance abuse; antisocial or institutional activities, destructive behaviour and change in attitude in students are much more significant than isolated episodes of the same activities. Other warning signs include deterioration of performance at school and running away from home. This research paper’s aim is the teacher-students relationship and its impact on the behaviour of High school students. The objectives are to know the teachers attitudes both positive and negative towards students and its impact to bring positive as well as negative behaviour change in the students. The study has reported that students are often facing emotional problems by the negative approach of the teachers. It is recommended that to create awareness among teachers in the school for the smooth handling the children with the positive approaches. 50 high school students; 25 girls and 25 boys were taken and interview schedule is used. Both the primary and secondary methods are used and the study is descriptive in nature.

Problematic behavior of students in the classroom causes destruction to the learning environment, teacher’s concentration and adversely affects social and educational level of the student. Present paper put forth the various reasons responsible for behavioral problems in school classrooms. Based on an in depth study of secondary schools at Pune, India, it analyses the various approaches that are adopted by teachers and the respective effect on student’s behavior and performance in classroom to overcome this problem . This is aimed to suggest new approaches which go beyond explicitly academic interventions to take on the learning challenges posed by problematic student behavior and the ways schools deal with it. It endeavors to put forth measures considering that the social and behavioral environment of a classroom can reflect the overall academic environment of the school broadly, and stress on the contributions of strategies or programs to improving student behavior by and large.

Pupils' behavior in the classroom today takes various forms depending on the social and cultural context. This study focused on the pupils' perception of the classroom behavior: Physical Aggression, Verbal Expression, Non-Verbal Communication, Disrespecting Teacher, and Peer Pressure, the pupils' academic performance for the second quarter, and the relationship between pupils classroom behavior and academic performance for the School Year 2022-2023. This study was conducted among the one-hundred-fifty (150) Grade V pupils in schools under South 1 District, Division of Gingoog City. This study used an adapted questionnaire from Lampasaran (2018). The researcher utilized the descriptive–correlational research. Statistical analysis like mean, standard deviation, and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient were employed to analyze the gathered data. The results revealed that overall, pupils' perception of classroom behavior was sometimes level. Non-verbal communication was rated the highest. The majority of the Pupils' academic performance was at a fairly satisfactory level. Pupils' classroom behavior has a significant impact on academic performance, except for physical aggression. Academic performance has a fairly satisfactory level, which means that pupils should improve their academic performance for better results. The researcher recommends that the school, teachers, and parents may help each other in improving pupils' positive behavior and academic performance.

Various social changes have influenced family and school, these two important institutions, reducing in this way the efficacy of the strategies implemented by teachers in achieving a successful management of the classroom. This is the reason why conducting research on individual’s behavior is being paid more attention recently, as a key element but also as a possible strategy which would guarantee efficacy during the lesson. The purpose of this research is pointing out and highlighting some of the factors that cause problematic behaviors, the theoretical approaches that treat person’s behavior and its influence, as well as the discussion of strategies implemented by teachers in reducing disruptive behaviors of the pupils. Considering pupils as unique individuals, characterized by unique behavioral patterns requiring featured classroom strategies could lead to classroom management success as well as higher pupils’ school progress.

Aim: The research was concerned with finding students' most common behavioral problems inside the classroom, the greatest barrier that hinder discipline implementation in class, and identifying teachers' commonly used classroom discipline strategies with an end of developing material in addressing behavioral problems in the classrooms. Methodology: The study is descriptive research utilizing quantitative approaches. Survey questionnaires were given to 128 randomly selected grade 7 to grade 10 students at Canda National High School for the school year 2019-2020. Weighted mean was used to analyze and interpret data. Results: The results revealed that the most common behavioral problems inside the classroom are not paying attention to teachers and being the source of distraction (standing, shouting, changing seats); being late, cutting classes, and absenteeism; and verbal bullying (throwing jokes, giving nicknames, insults, etc.). Furthermore, the influence of media, technology, and networking sites, the influence of peers and classmates to misbehave in class, and parents' tolerating their children's wrongdoings ranked as the greatest barriers that hinder discipline implementation in class. When it comes to teachers' classroom discipline strategies, all used discussion, many used involvement, reward, and recognition, while few used hinting, aggression, and punishment. Conclusion: Apart from other discipline strategies, punishment and aggression have the most negative effects on children. Therefore, the education sector continued banning corporal punishments in the classroom and began using positive discipline strategies such as hinting, involvement, discussion, and giving rewards.

The goal of this research is to determine the effects of the exposure of Grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) students to social media on their academic performance in their specialized subjects. Specifically, the research would like to identify the social media applications utilized by students. Furthermore, the research will also determine their exposure to social media affect their performance in their specialized subjects. The expected results will propose an academic scheme to inspire the Grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences HUMSS students on their academic performance. The research is also expected to contribute particularly on academic scheme which will be used as an added resource available for teachers to support student academic performance, as well as teaching and professional development resources to the school.
