The music you choose for your presentation can do many things for your audience - it can lighten the mood, drive excitement, or even set a pace. The key is to choose the appropriate music for your presentation and have it play at an acceptable volume.

PowerPoint is one of the most widely used presentation tools. The music playing in the background helps make a presentation more fun than it would be without the music, but there's often confusion over how to set up the audio track properly.
There are two basic file types you'll need to know - MP3s and WAVs. An MP3 is a compressed copy of an audio track that can be downloaded quickly. A WAV, or Waveform Audio File, is a digital format that supports higher quality, uncompressed audio, meaning it takes longer to download.
Both formats work in PowerPoint, but your choice depends on the type of presentation and how much music you want to include. To download music you need to add liked tracks to the Shopping cart, proceed to checkout and complete your payment. Download music instantly from the My Music > Tracks page.
- Select the slide you want to add music.
- On the Insert tab, click the Audio button.
- Select the option 'Audio on My PC..'
- Find and select your music files and click the Insert button.
- Now you can set up a volume level for music.
- Click on a sound icon to enable the Audio Tools panel.
- Set on the checkbox 'Play Across Slides' so the music will play continuously throughout your presentation.
You can download free presentation music from the Free music page. Use free music in your presentations, slideshows, and videos without copyright concerns.
You can't just take a popular hit and put it into your presentation. You need to right to use music in your production. Purchase and download royalty-free presentation music by Melody Loops to use in your PowerPoint or Keynote presentation.
How to choose the right background music for your business presentation
Youâve worked hard on your pitch deck. Youâve carefully chosen the right images, colors, and text that will hopefully get your investors interested. Whether you are sending your pitch deck or presenting in front of an audience, choosing the right background track will really make your presentation shine!
We have outlined three tips below to help you choose the track that will drive your pitch home and strike an emotional chord with investors.
1. Keep a Steady Pace
Choose a track that glides along without a lot of fanfare. A steady pace will draw your audience in and help them focus on the content of each slide. Choose music that is gentle, positive and bright, with some moments that pause, then continue the dynamic.
2. Tone is Important
Setting the right tone that relates to your idea will convey clarity and credibility to your audience. Whether the tone of your pitch is powerful and engaging or gentle and reassuring, the background music should match.
3. Make an Emotional Connection
When pitching your product to investors, let your passion shine through. Your pitch deck should have all of the elements of a great story. If your presentation has a kick-in-the-pants spirit, the right background music will accentuate that.
Choosing the Best Music for Corporate Event Presentations
Making a presentation in front of a corporate event audience can be daunting. How can you get your audienceâs attention over the conversation and buzz? How do you really make an impact? One way is to add a background track to your slide presentation. If you are presenting a slide show at a business dinner, conference, or trade show, read on to find out how to choose the best background music.
1. Taking the Subtle Approach
Set the tone for the occasion by adding minimalist, even-toned musicâ more of a backdrop that your audience can focus their ears on. Subtle music exudes a calm atmosphere. The right track can be barely noticeable but will still affect the audience in subtle ways.
2. High Energy Approach
If your slide show has a high-energy, celebratory feel, choose tracks that engage your audience to feel that. Steady driving drums, danceable synth lines, and that dreamy backdrop give an air of brightness and positivity to your corporate presentation.

Billie Eilish Stuns the Oscars With ‘What Was I Made For?’ Live Performance, Earns Standing Ovation
Billie Eilish delivered a powerful performance of “What Was I Made For?” at the 2024 Academy Awards on Sunday night.
Eilish was joined by her brother, co-writer and producer Finneas O’Connell, in a touching rendition of the song from Greta Gerwig’s “ Barbie ,” which earned eight Oscar nominations.
“What Was I Made For?” appears on “Barbie: The Album,” the soundtrack to director Greta Gerwig’s blockbuster. It’s up for best original song, and “Barbie” received nods for best picture, supporting actor, supporting actress, adapted screenplay, costume design and production design. Ryan Gosling and Mark Ronson’s viral hit “I’m Just Ken” is also up for best original song. A win for Eilish on Sunday night would make the 22-year-old the youngest two-time Oscar winner in history.
Last month, “What Was I Made For?” won song of the year at the Grammys, and “Barbie” also won for best compilation soundtrack for visual media and best song written for visual media.
Eilish, O’Connell and the song were also honored at Variety ’s 2023 Hitmakers ceremony in December, receiving the film song of the year award for “What Was I Made For?” They were introduced with a moving speech by Elton John’s longtime songwriting partner, Bernie Taupin .
“I just feel very lucky that we were even thought of to make this song, and I thank God that it happened at all because I feel like it really saved us from a creative meltdown,” Eilish told the crowd at the time. “I think that when we were asked to make this song, it was just what we needed in our writer’s block.”
Watch O’Connell describe the song’s creation on Variety ‘s video series, “Behind the Song,” here.

Oscars performance by Osage Nation singers and dancers from Oklahoma praised as historic
Oklahoman Scott George and his fellow Osage Tribal Singers received a long standing ovation for their live performance Sunday night on the 96th Academy Awards .
Accompanied by dancers in full regalia, the group of Osage Nation singers gathered around the drum on Hollywood's most celebrated stage to perform âWahzhazhe (A Song For My People)," the Oscar-nominated song George created for Martin Scorseseâs Oklahoma-made historical epic âKillers of the Flower Moon ."
Lily Gladstone, the film's history-making Oscar-nominated Native American star, was shown on the broadcast cheering for the Osage performers, while Oscar-nominated "Killers of the Flower Moon" director Martin Scorsese, the movie's Oscar-nominated supporting actor Robert De Niro and fellow cinema icon Steven Spielberg applauded.
George, 66, of Del City, made history with his Oscar nomination: He is the first Indigenous nominee in the Oscars best original song category , as well as the first member of the Osage Nation to be nominated for an Academy Award .
Osage Tribal Singers' Oscars performance praised as historic on social media
From the Academy Awards audience in Los Angeles to the Osage Nation watch party in Oklahoma, the Osage Tribal Singers' Oscars performance was praised as historic and moving Sunday night on social media:
After the Osage Tribal Singers' performance, some users on X (formerly Twitter) commented on how far the Academy Awards have come since the infamous 1973 Oscars, when Native American actress Sacheen Littlefeather was booed and threatened with arrest as she took the stage at Marlon Brando's behest to decline his Oscar. She said that John Wayne had to be restrained from attacking her.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences apologized to Littlefeather for the incident just a few weeks before she died last year at age 75.
Oscar-nominated Osage composer: 'See us as a people that have survived'
Primarily filmed in and around Osage County in 2021 , "Killers of the Flower Moon" focuses on a grim and often-overlooked chapter of Oklahoma history: The 1920s "Reign of Terror," a series of ruthless murders of oil-rich Osage Nation citizens. Scorsese wanted to end the fact-based epic with a special piece of music created by the Osage people.
"By the end of the film, we had to have some sense of the presence of the Osage: They survive, and the music of the Osage is the best display of this extraordinary survival," Scorsese said in a behind-the-scenes featurette .
"Killers of the Flower Moon" went into Sunday's Academy Awards competing for 10 Oscars, including best picture, but George's nomination was arguably the most impressive.
As his fellow nominees included Diane Warren , Mark Ronson , Jon Batiste and Billie Eilish , he was the only one of this year's best original song contenders who isn't a Grammy-winning songwriter or recording artist.
"What's really odd is being on a Zoom call with all of them at the same time â and I've done that twice," George told The Oklahoman in a recent interview at his Del City home.
Raised in Hominy, George has worked in tribal housing for 30 years and has served as the director of the Shawnee-based Citizen Potawatomi Nation 's housing department for the past decade.
"I keep trying to find a way to describe it, or wrap my mind around it, and I don't think I'm gonna be able to, because you can't really when it wasn't your aspiration to begin with," the Osage singer, drummer and composer told The Oklahoman.
"It goes along with the same thoughts we have about the movie. ... When you see us up on stage, we're hoping that you see us as a people that have survived and that are able to hold on to what we have."
The Oscar for best original song was awarded to Eilish and her brother, Finneas O'Connell, for their "Barbie" ode "What Was I Made For?"

The Osage Nation was front and center on the international level as singers and dancers performed the Oscar-nominated song "Wahzhazhe (A Song for My People)" at the 96th Academy Awards.

The song's writer Scott George was among the performers on stage, the second of five nominated songs that was performed on Oscar Sunday. The performance, which you can watch here , received a standing ovation.
The other nominees include "I'm Just Ken" and "What Was I Made For?" from "Barbie," "The Fire Inside" from "Flamin' Hot" and "It Never Went Away" from "American Symphony." "What Was I Made For?" won the Oscar.
KOCO 5 spoke with George before the Oscars, with the oil worker turned musician breaking through into new territory after getting the call of a lifetime.
"I don't think it was really envisioned until after most of the movie was filmed," George said. "Martin Scorsese contacted us. 'We've got this last scene we want to do. Would you help us with it?' It's like, 'Yeah, fine. You know we'll do it.'"
The last scene of "Killers of the Flower Moon" has George and Osage tribal singers from other ceremonial grounds singing "Wahzhazhe," which is in the Osage language. He told KOCO 5 that the song is literal in its words, but like many native songs, it has a deeper meaning to him.
"From my heart, I want to say that my people have suffered through all of this," George said. "I want you to stand up. I want you to be proud and acknowledge the fact that God got us here, got us this far."
Ryan Gosling joined by Slash for epic, star-studded 'I'm Just Ken' Oscars performance
Ryan Gosling just proved he truly is "great at doing stuff."
The actor, 43, on Sunday delivered an epic live performance of the song " I'm Just Ken " from " Barbie " at the Academy Awards, and he wasn't alone. Dressed in a bright pink suit, Gosling was joined on stage by a large group of dancers wearing cowboy hats, as well as several actors who played Kens in Greta Gerwig's film, including Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adir and Ncuti Gatwa.
Gosling began the performance seated in the audience behind a visibly amused Margot Robbie before he progressed to the stage and joined the dancers on a set of bright pink stairs. The dancers carried Gosling around surrounded by cardboard cutouts of a Barbie doll before another special guest joined in: Slash on the guitar.

Gosling eventually returned to the audience, and screens in the auditorium encouraged guests to sing along by displaying the song's lyrics. Gerwig, America Ferrera and Robbie joined him, as did Gosling's "La La Land" co-star Emma Stone.
"I'm Just Ken" was one of two "Barbie" tracks nominated for best original song at the Academy Awards, with the other being Billie Eilish's "What Was I Made For?" In the film, "I'm Just Ken" is a musical number performed in the third act after all of the Kens go to war against one another, a distraction planned by the Barbies, only to end up dancing side by side. Eilish's song ultimately won the Oscar shortly after Gosling's performance.
Although every nominee for best original song is traditionally performed live at the Oscars, there had initially been uncertainty about whether Gosling himself would be on stage for "I'm Just Ken." After all, he did not perform "City of Stars" when his " La La Land " song was nominated in 2017, with John Legend doing so instead.
Eilish also performed her "Barbie" song live at Sunday's Oscars. Her brother, Finneas, accompanied her on the piano.
Mark Ronson, co- writer of "I'm Just K en," recently revealed that the beloved song was almost cut from the final film.
"I thought, 'God, I hope we don't ruin it,'" he told The Sunday Times in an interview published Sunday. "At that first screening the song wasnât working. I panicked. The humor wasnât translating, and Greta (Gerwig) had to fight. The studio asked her how much she really needed it and she said, âWith every inch of my body.â And then there was a big swing."
Eva Mendes to Ryan Gosling at Oscars: 'Now come home, we need to put the kids to bed'
Is Ryan Gosling a singer?
The "I'm Just Ken" number at the Oscars wasn't Gosling's first experience with live musical performances. The actor has also performed with Zach Shields in the rock duo Dead Man's Bones, which released its first album in 2009. Prior to singing in the Oscar-winning musical "La La Land" or in "Blue Valentine," Gosling got his start on "The Mickey Mouse Club."
Ryan Gosling's Oscar performance was inspired by a Marilyn Monroe classic
Though Gosling was singing a song from "Barbie," his Oscar performance was also inspired by Marilyn Monroe .
The number incorporated imagery from the 1953 musical "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" and its famous "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" scene, in which Monroe wore a pink dress and performed on a staircase surrounded by dancers in suits. The "I'm Just Ken" dancers' outfits were modeled after Monroe's, and their Barbie head cutouts were similar to heart cutouts from the "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" scene.

Trending on billboard.
George, the first Native American to land an Oscar nomination for best original song, told Billboard in an interview published last month that the biggest challenge of the Flower Moon process was submitting the song for an Oscar.
“None of our music is written down,” he shared. “It’s all held on to by memory. But one of the [Oscar] submission requirements was that it would be in a written form. And I just happen to know a person that took that on several years back as part of his education … And so he used that recorder that you got to take home in elementary school to find all the notes and write it all out. Within three to four days, he had it finished, and we got it submitted in time.”
George is up against Diane Warren (“The Fire Inside” from Flamin’ Hot ); Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt (“I’m Just Ken” from Barbie ); Jon Batiste and Dan Wilson (“It Never Went Away” from American Symphony ); and Billie Eilish and Finneas (“What Was I Made For?” from Barbie ) in the achievement in music written for motion pictures (original song) category.

During the Oscars luncheon, Ronson said the script for "Barbie" inspired the Kens' anthem.
"We were obviously really inspired by the script," Ronson said. "That was the main thing, but then I think also knowing Ryan was already playing [Ken] -- you're reading the script, you can see him saying all these lines -- so we really kind of fell in love with his character."

Ryan Gosling's "I'm Just Ken" Oscars Secrets Revealed: Emma Stone Moment, Marilyn Inspiration and More
Ryan goslingâs âiâm just kenâ performance at the 2024 oscars was truly iconic and took months to brainstorm, produce and practice. find out everything you need to know about the spectacle..
Ryan Gosling brought the Kenergyâbut not without some major planning.Â
In fact, the Barbie star's " I'm Just Ken" performance at the 2024 Oscars at Dolby Theatre required months of preparation alongside producers, choreographers, dancers and more to bring the extravagant production to life.
"Ryan Gosling is a true professional, that manâwe met with him on Zooms months ago, talking about that performance," show producer Molly McNearney told Variety in an article published March 11. " Greta Gerwig weighed in creatively as well. He was so committed to it."
But the inspiration behind the spectacle, which was a tribute to Marilyn Monroe 's song "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes , was all Ryan. And it only took a 40-piece orchestra, 62 dancers, over 24 massive Barbie heads, a cameo from Guns N' Roses and four Kens from Barbie .
"That's where the pink suit, and everybody else in black came fromâand the stairs in the back," choreographer Mandy Moore explained. "And we had an homage to the candelabra girls: We had Ken-delabra men."
While the song was all about Ken, Ryan was set on highlighting the leading ladies from the film, including Margot Robbie , America Ferrera and Greta, along with longtime friend Emma Stone , who won Best Actress in a Leading Role .
"It was really important for him to jump down and include Margot and Greta and America," Moore recalled to Variety . "He said, âI really need those ladies in the front, because I'm gonna go over to them. I want them to sing.'"

Greta's biggest wish, however, was to see the crowd dancing and singing along. So, the producers projected the lyrics on the screen for the audience to sing along.
Rehearsals for Ryan and Mandy began a month before the Academy Awards, but the rest of the performersâincluding Simu Liu , Kingsley Ben-Adir , Ncuti Gatwa , and Scott Evans âonly had two days to prepare. And Simu admitted he's still processing the iconic moment.
"I kind of blacked out up there," he joked. "I didn't know if I did any of the choreography right? I just knew vaguely where I had to be. Greta was screaming, she was so happy."
While Ryan's performance was one to remember, the 2024 Oscar wins were too. Keep reading to see who took home gold before and after Ken took the stage.
