Vijaya raghavan review: ‘విజయ రాఘవన్‌’మూవీ ఎలా ఉందంటే...

క‌థేంటంటే? అరకులోని ఓ గ్రామానికి చెందిన విజ‌య రాఘ‌వ‌న్ (విజ‌య్ ఆంటోని) త‌న త‌ల్లి ఆశ‌యం కోసం ఐఏఎస్ కావాల‌నుకుంటాడు. ఇందుకోసం ఆయ‌న హైద‌రాబాద్ వ‌చ్చి ఒక ప‌క్క పిల్ల‌ల‌కు ట్యూష‌న్ చెబుతూ.. మ‌రో ప‌క్క ఐఏఎస్‌కు ప్రిపేర్ అవుతూ ఉంటాడు. అయితే అనుకోకుండా విజ‌య్ రాఘ‌వ‌న్ లోక‌ల్ రాజ‌కీయాల్లోకి త‌ల‌దూర్చాల్సివ‌స్తుంది. దాని వ‌ల్ల‌ ఐఏఎస్ ఐఏఎస్ ఇంటర్వ్యూ అడ్డంకులు వ‌స్తాయి. ఒక‌వైపు త‌ల్లికిచ్చిన మాట మ‌రోవైపు రాజ‌కీయనాయ‌కులు ఒత్తిడి. చివ‌రికి ఆ కాల‌నీకి కార్పొరేట్ గా ఎన్నిక‌వుతాడు. విజ‌య రాఘ‌వ‌న్ రాజ‌కీయాల్లోకి ఎందుకు రావాల్సి వ‌చ్చింది? ఆయ‌న కార్పొరేటర్ గా ఎలా గెలిచాడు ?  త‌ల్లికి ఇచ్చిన మాట‌ను నెర‌వేర్చాడా లేదా? అనేదే మిగ‌తా క‌థ‌.

ఎవ‌రెలా చేశారంటే..  విజయ రాఘవన్‌ పాత్రలో కనిపించిన విజయ్‌ ఆంటోని తన హావభావాలతో చక్కగా నటించాడు. త‌ల్లికి ఇచ్చిన మాట కోసం పాడుప‌డే ఓ మంచి కొడుకుగా త‌నదైన న‌ట‌న‌తో సినిమా భారం మొత్తాన్ని భూజాన వేసుకొని న‌డిపించాడు.  పోరాట స‌న్నివేశాల్లో విజ‌య్ చ‌క్క‌గా న‌టించాడు. అలాగే ఇతర ప్రధాన పాత్రల్లో కనిపించిన ఆత్మిక, రామచంద్రరాజు, ప్రభాకర్ మిగిలిన నటీనటులు కూడా తమ నటనతో ఆకట్టుకున్నారు.

కథలో చెప్పాలనుకున్న మెయిన్ థీమ్ అలాగే కొన్ని సన్నివేశాలలో మంచి పనితీరుని కనబర్చిన దర్శకుడు ఆనంద కృష్ణన్‌.. కొన్ని సీన్స్‌లో నెమ్మ‌దిగా క‌నిపించారు. ఆ సన్నివేశాలను కూడా ఇంకా ఆసక్తికరంగా మలిచే అవకాశం ఉన్నప్పటికీ, ఆనంద కృష్ణన్‌ మాత్రం వాటిని సింపుల్ గా నడిపారు. సెకండాఫ్ చాలా వ‌ర‌కు సినిమాటిక్‌గా సాగుతుంది. మ‌ధ్య మ‌ధ్య‌లో వ‌చ్చే కొన్ని అన‌వ‌స‌ర‌పు సీన్స్ ప్రేక్ష‌కుల‌కు కాస్త బోర్ కొట్టిస్తాయి. నివాస్‌ కె.ప్రసన్న సంగీతం బాగుంది. పాట‌లు అంతంత మాత్ర‌మే అయిన‌ప్ప‌టికీ నేప‌థ్య సంగీతం అదిరిపోయింది. ఎన్‌.ఎస్‌. ఉదయ్‌కుమార్‌ సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ సినిమాకే ప్రత్యేక ఆకర్షణగా నిలుస్తోంది. సినిమాలోని చాలా సన్నివేశాలను ఆయన ఎంతో రియలిస్టిక్ గా, మంచి విజువల్స్ తో చాలా బ్యూటిఫుల్ గా చూపించారు. సినిమా స్థాయికి త‌గిన‌ట్లుగా ఉన్నాయి.

Vijaya Raghavan Movie Review and Rating!

Kollywood musician turned actor Vijay Antony’s new film, Kodiyil Oruvan had a simultaneous release in Telugu as Vijaya Raghavan today. Let’s check how it is.

Story: To crack the Indian civils exam, an IAS aspirant named Vijaya Raghavan’s(Vijay Anthony) lands in Hyderabad. Living in a small colony, Vijaya Raghavan starts preparing for exams by parallelly giving tutorials for the kids. But a group of local goons, who has political support from the same area corporator stop Vijaya Raghavan from taking the IAS exams. Later, how will Vijaya Raghavan teach a lesson to local goons and their corporator ( role played by KGF fame Garuda Ram)? And becomes the new corporator for the same area? Forms the rest of the story.

Performances: Though Vijay Anthony is not a great actor he somehow manages to impress with his decent acting. His choice of scripts based on burning issues in the society made him close to the general audience and the same has happened with this film also. His journey from an IAS aspirant to the area corporator is filled with multiple emotions and Vijay Anthony impresses with a decent performance. Especially, the mother-son sentiment thread which worked in favour of Vijay Antony in Bichagadu has repeated in this film also. The core emotional bond with the mother-son has been executed in a decent manner in Vijaya Raghavan.

While Garuda Ram as a powerful politician is convincing in his role, the lady, who did the mother role did cent percent justice to her role.

Heroine Aathmika is gorgeous on-screen but her chemistry with Vijay Antony is only restricted to limited scenes. Others actors, who did the supporting roles are apt in their roles.

Technicalities: The cinematography work by NS Udhaya Kumar is a major highlight for the film as he showcased the slum localities and the lifestyle of the people in those areas in an impressive manner. The production design team did a good job in tracking apt locations for the movie.

Editing work by Vijay Antony himself is not up to the mark as he would have chopped off a few lag scenes in the second half to make things more appealing.

Music by Nivas K Prasanna is good as all the songs are good to listen to on the screen and his background score is apt for the film’s genre.

Analysis: Firstly, director Anand Krishnan Should be appreciated for coming up with a political based subject coated mother sentiment. The social message showcased in the film is also impressive and triggers into the audience mind.

Though the political scenes and the mother sentiment episodes showcased in the first half are good, the pace of the film eventually drops in the second half with a few dragged scenes. If Anand Krishnan would have focused on writing a gripping screenplay for the second half proceedings, the output would have been much better.

In one word, Vijaya Raghavan is a political based family drama with mother sentiment as the main USB. If director Anand Krishnan worked on writing a racy screenplay for the key proceedings in the second half the film would have got good applause from the audience.

Verdict: Political drama coated with mother sentiment!

విజయ్‌ ఆంటోని (‘విజయ రాఘవన్‌’) తన తల్లి ఆశయం కోసం ఐఏఎస్ అవ్వాలని కలలు కంటూ కష్టపడుతూ ఉంటాడు. ఈ క్రమంలో హైదరాబాద్ లోని గవర్నమెంట్ కాలనీలో ఉంటూ అక్కడ పిల్లలకు ట్యూషన్ చెబుతూ.. మరోపక్క ఐఏఎస్ కి ప్రిపేర్ అవుతూ ఉంటాడు. అయితే, అక్కడున్న రౌడీ సూరి గ్యాంగ్ తో గొడవ, ఆ గొడవ కారణంగా కొన్ని ఇబ్బందులు.. దాంతో రౌడీ గ్యాంగ్ విజయ రాఘవన్‌ ను ఐఏఎస్ ఇంటర్వ్యూకి హాజరవ్వకుండా అతన్ని కొట్టి నీళ్లలో పడేస్తారు. తన జీవిత ఆశయాన్ని కోల్పోయి ఆ బాధలో నలిగిపోతున్న విజయ రాఘవన్‌ కి, అతని తల్లి ఎలా దైర్యం చెప్పి, మోటివ్ చేసింది ? అతను తిరిగి అదే గవర్నమెంట్ కాలనీలో ఎలా కార్పొరేటర్ గా గెలిచాడు ? చివరకు అతని ప్రస్థానం ఎలా సాగింది ? లాంటి విషయాలు తెలియాలంటే వెండితెర పై ఈ చిత్రం చూడాల్సిందే.

సిటీలోని స్లమ్ ఏరియాలోని వాస్తవ పరిస్థితులను వెండితెరపై ఆవిష్కృతం చేయడానికి దర్శకుడు ఆనంద కృష్ణన్‌ తీసుకున్న జాగ్రత్తలు.. ముఖ్యంగా స్లమ్ నేపథ్యం దగ్గరనుంచీ.. అక్కడ పాత్రల వేషభాషలను తీర్చిదిద్దడం మరియు రాజకీయ, సామాజిక, ఆర్థిక పరిస్థితులను చూపించిన విధానం.. ఇలా ప్రతిది ఆనంద కృష్ణన్‌ చాల చక్కాగా ఎస్టాబ్లిష్ చేశాడు.

విజయ రాఘవన్‌ జర్నీ తాలూకు సన్నివేశాలు, అలాగే ఆ పాత్రను ఎలివేట్ చేసే సీన్స్ చాలా బాగున్నాయి. విజయ రాఘవన్‌ ను ప్రత్యర్థులు ఎటాక్ చేసే సన్నివేశం.. అదే విధంగా కొన్ని ఎమోషనల్ సన్నివేశాలు (మదర్ సెంటిమెంట్ సీన్స్) ఎమోషనల్ గా బాగా కనెక్ట్ అవుతాయి. ఇక విజయ రాఘవన్‌ పాత్రలో కనిపించిన విజయ్‌ ఆంటోని తన హావభావాలతో చక్కగా నటించాడు.

అలాగే ఇతర ప్రధాన పాత్రల్లో కనిపించిన ఆత్మిక, రామచంద్రరాజు, ప్రభాకర్ మరియు మిగిలిన నటీనటులు కూడా తమ నటనతో ఆకట్టుకున్నారు. సినిమాలో చెప్పిన మెసేజ్ కూడా బాగుంది.

మైనస్ పాయింట్స్ :

కథలో చెప్పాలనుకున్న మెయిన్ థీమ్ అలాగే కొన్ని సన్నివేశాలలో మంచి పనితీరుని కనబర్చిన దర్శకుడు ఆనంద కృష్ణన్‌, మిగిలిన కొన్ని సన్నివేశాల్లో మాత్రం నెమ్మదిగా కనిపించారు. ఆ సన్నివేశాలను కూడా ఇంకా ఆసక్తికరంగా మలిచే అవకాశం ఉన్నప్పటికీ, ఆనంద కృష్ణన్‌ మాత్రం వాటిని సింపుల్ గా నడిపారు. అలాగే సినిమాని ఎక్కువగా బోరింగ్ అండ్ స్లో డ్రామా సీక్వెన్స్ తో డ్రైవ్ చేశాడు.

పైగా సినిమాలోని మెయిన్ ఎమోషన్ని కూడా అంతే ఎఫెక్టివ్ గా ఎలివేట్ చేయలేక పోయాడు. మధ్య మధ్యలో అనవసరమైన ల్యాగ్ సీన్స్ తో నిరాశ పరిచాడు. పైగా ట్రీట్మెంట్ అండ్ స్క్రీన్ ప్లే కూడా పూర్తిగా ఆకట్టుకోవు. ఓవరాల్ గా కీలక సీన్స్ బాగానే ఉన్నా కథనాన్ని మాత్రం ముందుకు నడిపించవు. ఆ సీన్స్ కోసమని సినిమా లెంగ్త్ ని పెంచడం కూడా సినిమాకి మరో మైనస్ పాయింట్ గా నిలుస్తోంది.

సాంకేతిక విభాగం విషయానికి వస్తే .. నివాస్‌ కె.ప్రసన్న అందించిన పాటలు బాగున్నాయి. ఇక ఎన్‌.ఎస్‌.ఉదయ్‌కుమార్‌ సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ సినిమాకే ప్రత్యేక ఆకర్షణగా నిలుస్తోంది. సినిమాలోని చాలా సన్నివేశాలను ఆయన ఎంతో రియలిస్టిక్ గా, మంచి విజువల్స్ తో చాలా బ్యూటిఫుల్ గా చూపించారు. అయితే ఎడిటర్ సినిమాలోని సాగతీత సన్నివేశాలను తగ్గించి ఉంటే.. సినిమాకి బాగా ప్లస్ అయ్యేది. నిర్మాతలు ఎక్కడా కాంప్రమైజ్ కాకుండా ఈ చిత్రాన్ని నిర్మించారు. నిర్మాణ విలువలు బాగున్నాయి. దర్శకుడు ఆనంద కృష్ణన్‌ స్క్రిప్ట్ లో ల్యాగ్ లేకుండా చూసుకుని ఉండి ఉంటే ఇంకా బాగుండేది.

తన తల్లి జీవితంలో జరిగిన అన్యాయాన్ని తెలుసుకుని, ఆ బాధనే ఒక ఆశయంగా మార్చుకుని ఎదిగిన ‘విజయ్‌ రాఘవన్‌’ జర్నీ కొన్ని చోట్ల బాగానే ఆకట్టుకుంది. అలాగే సినిమాలోని డైలాగ్స్, టేకింగ్, నటీనటుల నటన బాగున్నాయి. ముఖ్యంగా మదర్ తాలూకు ఎమోషన్స్ ను బాగా ఎలివేట్ చేశారు. అయితే, సెకండ్ హాఫ్ బాగా స్లోగా సాగడం, ‘ప్లే’లో క్లారిటీ మిస్ అవ్వడం కొన్ని చోట్ల పేలవమైన కథనం వంటి అంశాలు సినిమాకి బలహీనతలు గా నిలుస్తాయి. దాంతో ఈ సినిమా పూర్తి స్థాయిలో ఆకట్టుకోదు.

Raghavan Telugu Movie

Well, when in the movie the director is an accomplished one, the lead actor almost a veteran, the villain a dynamo, and the script a well researched one, what would you expect: nothing but the sheer thrill of novel cinematic experience. And when creativity is amalgamated with modernity you get avant garde cinema. Raghavan is one such movie, which pushes the frontiers of moviemaking a bit further.

Sensible and logical storytelling by Gautham Menon, realistic acting by Kamal Hasan, and absorbing performance by Daniel Balaji makes Raghavan a compelling crime thriller that no movie lover can afford to miss. Each and every scene of Raghavan seems to have been planned and created meticulously. Nothing comes from the wild imagination of the director as it happens in most movies these days. What you see is what has happened or could happen somewhere sometime, almost.

Serial killers were always the subjects of Hollywood movies while the corrupt political leaders, businessmen, or under-world dons were our favorite subjects of villainy. By making a serial killer the subject the director of Raghavan takes the concept of villainy to a new level.

Kamal Hasan has always been associated with movies having sensible themes. His movies always have logic among other things. So does Raghavan.

And Kamal Hasan is an actor par excellence. Perhaps he is the only actor to have acted in the maximum variety of roles. From a drunkard dance master in Sagar Sangamam to a retarded man in Swathimuthyam he has donned many roles with panache. No other actor comes to mind that has done so many different characters with such finesse.

In Raghavan, Kamal Hasan is a cop. He has acted in such a way that you feel you are watching a reality show where a cop is trying to pin down a serial killer. The overall acting department in the movie scores high points with amazing rendering from Daniel Balaji as a deranged serial killer. Prakash Raj and Jyothika, the brilliant actors that they are, know exactly what's expected of them and deliver just that, nothing more and nothing less. Even Lev Gorn, an outsider, gels well with the script and the cast.

Here is a brief recap of the story:

Kamal Hasan is entrusted with a case of the missing daughter of his mentor and senior Prakash Raj. The girl is kidnapped, raped, and killed. This happens in India. Soon after losing their daughter, Prakash Raj and his wife shift base to New York. A few days later they too are murdered. And then Kamal Hasan flies to New York pursuing the case. He sees a connection between the murders that lead to more such gory murders and two unhinged personalities.

Dubbing takes away nothing from the movie Vettaiyadu Villaiyadu and Raghavan will remain one of the best movies of the year. Agreed that the movie has violence, but given the nature of the movie it's expected. Do serial killers go about their jobs with flower in their hands instead of pickaxes?

Merry Christmas Review: ఆల్బ‌ర్ట్ (విజ‌య్ సేతుప‌తి) ఏడేళ్ల త‌ర్వాత క్రిస్మ‌స్‌ రోజు ముంబై సిటీలో అడుగుపెడ‌తాడు. చ‌నిపోయిన అమ్మ జ్ఞాప‌కాలు గుర్తొచ్చి పండుగ రోజు ఇంట్లో ఉండ‌లేక‌పోతాడు. ఓ హోట‌ల్‌కు వెళ‌తాడు. అక్క‌డ అత‌డికి మ‌రో వ్య‌క్తితో డేట్‌కు వ‌చ్చిన మరియా తార‌స‌ప‌డుతుంది. ఆ త‌ర్వాత సినిమా చూడ‌టానికి వెళ‌తాడు ఆల్బ‌ర్ట్‌. అక్క‌డికి త‌న కూతురితో క‌లిసి మ‌రియా వ‌స్తుంది.

మెర్రీ క్రిస్మ‌స్‌ మొత్తం శ్రీరామ్ రాఘ‌వ‌న్ సినిమాటిక్(Merry Christmas Review) ఫార్మెట్‌లోనే సాగుతుంది. ప్ర‌తి సీన్ ఆడియెన్స్‌కు ఓ ఫ‌జిల్‌లా అనిపిస్తుంది. మ‌ర్డ‌ర్ ఎవ‌రు చేశారు..నెక్స్ట్ ఏం జ‌రుగ‌బోతుంద‌నే క్యూరియాసిటీని చివ‌రి వ‌ర‌కు హోల్డ్ చేశాడు డైరెక్ట‌ర్‌. మ‌ర్డ‌ర్‌కు సంబంధించి ఫ్లోర్ పాయింట్‌తో రాసుకున్న ట్విస్ట్ గూస్‌బంప్స్‌ను క‌లిగిస్తుంది. ఆ ట్విస్ట్‌ను సాల్వ్ చేయ‌డానికి విజ‌య్ సేతుప‌తి సాగించే అన్వేష‌ణ కూడా థ్రిల్లింగ్‌గా అనిపిస్తుంది. క్లైమాక్స్‌లో డైరెక్ట‌ర్ త‌న టాలెంట్‌ను చూపించాడు. సింగిల్ డైలాగ్ లేకుండా ఊహ‌ల‌కు అంద‌ని ట్విస్ట్‌తో ఎండ్ చేశాడు.

ఆర్ట్ ఫిల్మ్‌లా..

మెర్రీ క్రిస్మ‌స్ క‌థ, టేకింగ్ బాగున్నా.. ఆర్ట్ ఫిల్మ్‌గా న‌డిపించిన తీరే ఇబ్బంది పెడుతుంది. ప్ర‌తి సీన్‌ను ఓ పొయెటిక్ వేలో స్క్రీన్‌పై ప్ర‌జెంట్ చేశాడు. ఫ‌స్ట్ ఫేజ్ సినిమాల‌కు అల‌వాటుప‌డిన నేటిత‌రం ఆడియెన్స్ ఇలాంటి రెట్రో స్టైల్ స్లో న‌రేష‌న్‌ను ఎంజాయ్ చేయ‌డం కొంత క‌ష్ట‌మే.

ఫ‌స్ట్ హాఫ్ మొత్తం విజ‌య్ సేతుప‌తి, క‌త్రినా కైఫ్ కెమిస్ట్రీ, డేటింగ్ సీన్స్ చుట్టే న‌డుస్తుంది. అవ‌న్నీ సీరియ‌ల్‌గా నెమ్మ‌దిగా సాగుతాయి. జెరోమీ మ‌ర్డ‌ర్ నుంచే సినిమా(Merry Christmas Review) ఇంట్రెస్టింగ్‌గా మారుతుంది. క‌త్రినాపై అనుమానాలుకు రేకెత్తిస్తూ అక్క‌డి నుంచి సినిమాను ఎంగేజింగ్‌గా న‌డిపించాడు.

కానీ భ‌ర్త జెరోమీపై మ‌రియాకు ఉన్న ద్వేషాన్ని డైలాగ్స్‌తోనే చూపించ‌డంతో ఆ క్యారెక్ట‌ర్‌పై సింప‌థీ క్రియేట్ కాలేక‌పోయింది.. ఒక్క రోజు ప‌రిచ‌యంలోనే మ‌రియా కోసం ఆల్బ‌ర్ట్‌ పెద్ద త్యాగానికి సిద్ధ‌ప‌డ‌టం కూడా క‌న్వీన్సింగ్‌గా అనిపించ‌దు. శ్రీరామ్ రాఘ‌వ‌న్ గ‌త సినిమాల స్థాయిలో మేరీ క్రిస్మ‌స్ క్లైమాక్స్ లేదు.

విజ‌య్, క‌త్రినా యాక్టింగ్ సూప‌ర్బ్‌...

మెర్రీ క్రిస్మ‌స్ సినిమా మొత్తం విజ‌య్ సేతుప‌తి, క‌త్రినా కైఫ్ పాత్ర‌ల చుట్టే తిరుగుతుంది. ఆల్బ‌ర్ట్‌గా విజ‌య్ సేతుప‌తి జీవించాడు. పాత్ర త‌ప్ప విజ‌య్ ఎక్క‌డ క‌నిపించ‌డు. సింపుల్ ఎక్స్‌ప్రెష‌న్స్, చిన్న చిన్న డైలాగ్స్‌తో అత‌డి పాత్ర‌ను డైరెక్ట‌ర్ రాసుకున్న తీరు బాగుంది. క‌త్రినా గ్లామ‌ర్ హీరోయిన్ ట్యాగ్‌కు పూర్తి భిన్నంగా న‌ట‌న‌కు ప్రాధాన్య‌మున్న పాత్ర‌లో ఒదిగిపోయింది. మ‌రియా పాత్ర‌లో చ‌క్క‌టి ఎమోష‌న్స్ ప‌లికించింది.రాధిక ఆప్టే గెస్ట్ రోల్ చేసింది. ఒకే సీన్‌లో క‌నిపిస్తుంది.

నో కంపేరిజ‌న్స్‌....

శ్రీరామ్ రాఘ‌వ‌న్ గ‌త సినిమాల స్థాయిలో ట్విస్ట్‌లు, ట‌ర్న్‌లు, డిఫ‌రెంట్ స్టోరీలైన్స్ ఎక్స్‌పెక్ట్ చేసి చూస్తే మాత్రం మేరీ క్రిస్మ‌స్ డిస‌పాయింట్ చేస్తుంది. విజ‌య్ సేతుప‌తి, క‌త్రినా యాక్టింగ్ కోసం మాత్రం మిస్ కాకుండా చూడాల్సిన సినిమా. డిఫ‌రెంట్ థ్రిల్ల‌ర్ మూవీగా ఆక‌ట్టుకుంటుంది.

The following scenes standout:

1. The separation scene of Tyson and Sravanthi is very fascinating. 2. Rajesh’s reaction after he beats up his friend Shankar. 3. The way he ended the love thread between Tyson and Sravanthi. If Sravanthi accepted Tyson's love, then it would appear that the director is giving messages that it is ok to love your senior girls in the college.

The following dialogues are so meaningful and true :

1. Love and fear can never coexist. 2. A boy's character is judged by the kind of girls he roams with. 3. The college life may fail you to achieve great academic rewards, but it will definitely give you the ability to achieve any thing. 4. College Days are Happy Days. The days that follow college days are purposeful days.

However the following aspects of the film are unwarranted:

1. Rajesh's hair style in the beginning appears artificial. And he keeps using Telangana dialect though he is from Proddutur (Rayalaseema). 2. Tyson doing some scientific tricks. The extent of the tricks should have been limited. 3. The character of Panduranga Rao was introduced well. But there is no ending to that character.

I could not resist from bringing the comparison of the ego clash between lead pair in this film to that of Kushi film. In that film Bhumika Chawla had a clash with Pawan because he peeked at her midriff. In this film the ego clash comes out because the guy wants to kiss the girl.
