As the name Beach Week implies, this event will be available for about a week, taking place from Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at 10am local time to Monday, June 12, 2023, at 8pm local time. There's a lot packed into this week-long event, so we've broken down everything you need to know about this event to fully take advantage of it.
The Water Festival: Beach Week will be debuting Sandygast and its evolution Palossand for the first time in Pokemon Go. During this event, Sandygast can be obtained through both Field Research Encounters and One-Star Raids.
It will require 50 Sandygast Candy to evolve Sandygast into Palossand, its final evolution.
Throughout this event, Rainy Lure Modules will have their duration increased to four times their standard duration. Make sure to activate this specific type of Lure Module at PokeStops during this event, allowing you to encounter and catch tons of Pokemon.
Additionally, there will be a Global Challenge issued to all Pokemon Go players, requiring the community to make 300 million Nice Throws globally.
If this goal is met, all players will benefit from increased Candy and increased chances of obtaining Candy XL from catching Pokemon with Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws.
Event Timed Research
There will be Event Timed Research available during this event, costing $5 USD at the in-game shop.
Purchasing and completing the tasks for this event-exclusive Timed Research will reward you encounters with event Pokemon and the Surfer Pose cosmetic item.
This Timed Research will only be available during the Water Festival: Beach Week Event.
Make sure to complete all tasks and claim all rewards prior to this event ending.
Event Field Research Tasks
You can obtain Event Field Research Tasks from spinning different PokeStop Photo Discs throughout the course of this event. Those that reward you with Pokemon encounters will provide you the opportunity to catch either Lapras wearing a scarf, Frillish, Binacle, Clauncher, or Sandygast.
Additionally, completing some Event Field Research Tasks will reward you with Mega Energy. This Mega Energy will either be for Blastoise or Swampert.

All Water Festival: Beach Week Research Tasks and Rewards in Pokémon Go
The exciting Hidden Gems season in Pokémon Go kicks off with its first big event. The Water Festival: Beach Week is here, giving players the chance to catch Water-type and beach-themed Pokémon. This event comes with new encounters and interesting research tasks.
Get Ready for Beach Week
Beach Week is happening from June 6 to 12. It marks the first appearance of Sandygast and Palossand in the game. Plus, players can catch Shiny variants of Clauncher and Clawitzer for the first time.
The event aims to get players to catch more Pokémon. Look out for Mantine, Finneon, Dwebble, Frillish, and Popplio. You’ll also find rare Pokémon like Hisuian Qwilfish, Feebas, Blastoise, and Lapras in raids. Depending on where you are, Azelf, Mesprit, and Uxie will appear in five-star raids.
Event Research Details
One downside is the Water Festival: Beach Week Timed Research costs $4.99 and is only two pages long. The rewards might not seem big, but there’s also a Global Challenge to enjoy.
If you’re diving into the event, here’s what you can expect from the research tasks and rewards.
Timed Research Tasks and Rewards
Page One: – Catch 10 Water-type Pokémon for 1,000 Stardust. – Make five Nice Throws to get 10 Poké Balls. – Transfer five Pokémon and earn Five Great Balls. – Use five Berries to help catch Pokémon for 10 Razz Berries.
Total Reward: 1,000 Stardust, a Clauncher encounter, and 1,000 XP.
Page Two: – Catch 15 Water-type Pokémon for 1,000 Stardust. – Make five Great Throws to get 15 Poké Balls. – Transfer 10 Pokémon for 10 Great Balls. – Use 10 Berries to catch Pokémon for Five Pinap Berries.

– Catch five Water-type Pokémon for 10 Poké Balls. – Catch 25 Water-type Pokémon for a Sandygast encounter. – Make five Great Throws for a Binacle encounter. – Make 10 Great Throws for 30 Blastoise and Swampert Mega Energy.
Despite some complaints about the event’s paid ticket, the outcry is not as big as past issues. For instance, when The Pokémon Company banned players from a contest for protesting format changes.
Remember, catching these Pokémon and completing tasks makes the Beach Week a blast. Get ready to make a splash and enjoy everything the Water Festival has to offer!

We can confirm the final rewards in this Timed Research do give you a Sandygast encounter . It’s a Pokémon that might be one of the more difficult Pokémon to find during the Water Festival: Beach Week event because it can only appear in Field Research tasks and one-star raids.

Pokemon GO Finally Adds Major Language After 8 Years
Pokemon go catching wonders - all masterwork research tasks and rewards, pokemon go: how to get zamazenta.
- A teaser for Pokemon GO's Community Day event on May 19 suggests either Toucannon or Bounsweet will be featured.
- Players can expect exclusive Attacks when evolving the featured Pokemon during the event, along with special rewards.
- Niantic is adding a third Master Ball on May 14 during the Catching Wonders event, offering gamers a new chance to acquire this rare item.
Pokemon GO has just released a new teaser for the next Community Day, and fans believe that its featured Pokemon will be a Toucannon or a Bounsweet. The upcoming Pokemon GO Community Day will happen on May 19, and this teaser was the first time Niantic hinted its possible content.
The Community Day is a monthly Pokemon GO event that often features rare or uncommon creatures, greatly increasing the players’ chance of capturing them. Normally, the featured Pokemon can also learn exclusive Attacks when evolving during the event, and players can gain special rewards by participating. Last month, Bellsprout was featured on Pokemon GO ’s Community Day .
Pokemon GO developer Niantic announces the long-awaited inclusion of a major language, as well as a celebratory in-game event for it.
Now, Niantic unveiled a short teaser of May 19’s Community Day, hinting at the appearance of two possible creatures. The seven-second clip starts with the shadow of a Flying-type Pokemon flying over grass, and then a Bounsweet jumps out of the bushes. This led to speculation in the community, as the shadow likely belongs to a Toucannon, and fans wondered which one of these two creatures would be featured in the event. As Bounsweet was the only one to directly appear in the video, it’s more likely that it will be the featured Pokemon. However, there’s no official confirmation from Niantic yet, so fans should not discard Toucannon or the possibility of having two featured Pokemon.
What Pokemon Will Be Featured on May 19's Pokemon Go Community Day?
- Pokemon GO players believe that either Toucannon or Bounsweet will be featured in the upcoming Community Day.
The Community Day will not be the only Pokemon GO event happening in May, though. Earlier today, Niantic revealed that Pokemon GO is adding a third Master Ball on May 14 . Gamers only had two chances of acquiring this rare item, and now, it was revealed that they will gain a new chance during the Catching Wonders event which will last from May 14 to 19.
While May will be an exciting time for Pokemon GO , April was a controversial month for its fans. Last month, Niantic released a Pokemon GO update called “Rediscover Yourself,” which changed the players’ avatars. The update was very poorly received by the player base, which deemed the new avatars to be worse than the previous ones. During the controversy, some Pokemon GO players even accused Niantic of false advertising by still using images of the old models in ads. In any case, it’s unlikely that Niantic will go back on this change, so at least the community will get another shot at gaining a new Master Ball and enhanced chances to capture either a Bounsweet or a Toucannon soon.
After a test run via an April Fools' joke on Google Maps, Pokemon GO was released to the public in the summer of 2016. The AR mobile app saw unparalleled success and continues to be one of the largest mobile games in the world, pulling in billions for developer Niantic.
