APRCET 2024 for PhD & M.Phil Admission (AP Research Common Entrance Test)

APRCET 2024 or AP RCET 2024 would be conducted for PhD & M.Phil Admission (AP Research Common Entrance Test) by the Andhra University for the academic year 2023-2024.

Based on the test, the admissions will be given into PhD and M.Phil programmes for both full time and part-time candidates in 14 Universities in the state. The APRCET test will be conducted in 73 subjects.

Andhra Pradesh Research Common Entrance Test, APRCET is scheduled to be conducted by Andhra University in November. The online application for the same had commenced from September 1 on https://sche.ap.gov.in/RCET /.

Interested and eligible candidates who aspire to seek admission to full-time or part-time PhD or M.Phil. courses from 14 universities, research centres and affiliated colleges present across the state of Andhra Pradesh can apply for AP RCET on the official website, sche.ap.gov.in. Steps to apply and the direct link to the APRCET online application has been given below.

A provision of correction of online application data already submitted would be given after completion of the application process.

APRCET hall tickets would be made available for download one week before commencement of exam date. The application fee is Rs 1440 for General and OBC category.

• Make fee payment first and then proceed towards the Online application.
• Enter all the needful information, upload necessary documents and submit the online application form.
• Print the application form and payment receipt for future reference.

Eligibility criteria for APRCET PhD & M.Phil Admissions:

The eligibility criteria for admission to APRCET (admission into M.Phil./Ph.D. programme) is the candidate should have a Master’s degree or

A professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55 per cent of marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale.

Those who are waiting for the result of PG Degree can also apply for APRCET. But they have to full fill the required criteria at the time of interview.

Application Fee for APRCET admissions: The fee structure for APRCET is Rs. 1500/- for OC, Rs. 1300/- for BC and Rs. 1000/- for SC, ST and PWD candidates.

Examination Pattern of APRCET

The examinations would be conducted for 180 marks. In two parts. The Part-A is in the teaching and research aptitude for 90 marks in 90 minutes, whereas part-B is in the subject-specific for 90 marks in 90 minutes. There would be 1/6 negative mark for each wrong answer.

Selection Process for APRCET

Qualified Candidates in the Entrance Test would be called for interview/viva-voce by the concerned University department where the candidates are required to discuss their research interest through a presentation before a duly constituted committee. The interview is for 20 marks.

Andhra University is conducting Andhra Pradesh Research Common Entrance test ( APRCET) for admission into Ph.D. ( Full time / Part time ) and M.Phil. ( Full time/ Part time ) research courses in 14 Universities, campus colleges, research centres and their affiliated colleges for the first time on behalf of APSCHE, Tadepalli, Guntur.   APRCET 2023 Eligibility:-   Full Time -   (a). Candidates for admission to M.Phil./Ph.D. programme shall have a Master's degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.   (b). A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/BC)/PWD and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the University Grants Commission from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master's degree prior to 19th September, 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark procedures.   Part Time -   Candidate satisfying the eligibility conditions noted for Full time (F.T) can be admitted as Part-time candidate through, entrance test, as per the following order of priority. Admission into Part-time category will be made on the basis of service seniority in the respective categories.   1. Regular Faculty working in the University or the P.G. Centers.   2. (a) Faculty working in Post graduate and Professional colleges having completed at least two years of service. This provision is not applicable to Faculty teaching Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Humanities in professional colleges. or (b) Faculty/Librarians/Asst. Librarians working in affiliated degree colleges or (c) Faculty working in Polytechnic/Government or private aided Junior Colleges having completed at least four years of service   3. Technical employees working in research institutes having completed at least five years of service.    APRCET 2023 Pattern:-   An Entrance test shall be conducted for 180 marks. The Entrance Test consists of two parts, i.e., Part-A and Part-B. Part-A shall be the Teaching and Research Aptitude for 90 marks, whereas Part-B shall be the subject specific for 90 marks. Andhra University, one of the oldest and accredited by NAAC with 'A' grade has established an international image in academic excellence. School of Distance Education, an organ of this University, started in 1972, has been one of the pioneering institutions in the field of Higher Education. It has been striving to extend the reach of higher education to different sections of the society located in divergent geographical areas, particularly in the State of Andhra Pradesh.

Students of this institution study the same syllabi and are subject to the same regulations as that of the regular students of Andhra University. The Degree awarded is also the same. The learning package comprises of self-learning study material, audio-video packages and face-to-face interaction.

Gyan Vani, a community Radio Station is located in the School of Distance Education and caters to the needs of the learners of the School of Distance Education, besides other sections. It can be tuned on 106.4 Mhz under FM. At present there are 34 study Centres meeting the learner needs. The sale of applications, dissemination of information, face-to-face interaction, conduct of examinations, etc. constitute the core activities of the Study Centres

SRM University- AP invites applications for full time PhD degree programme in arts, science, engineering and management. The objective of the programme is to guide the scholars in an innovative way to become top-class researchers in various fields of study leading to PhD degree.

SRM University- AP was established with a vision to bring about innovation in higher education and learning in emerging areas of the knowledge society. This PhD programme is in-line with the overall vision to become one of India’s premier research-led University.

PhD Admissions 2024 Notification

The applications for admission into PhD programmes are invited throughout the year. There is no last date for the applications, however, selection process will take place four times in a year (Jan, April, Aug and Nov.). The applications can be made online after paying a non-refundable fee of Rs.1200/- (Rupees One thousand and two hundred only).

Eligibility & Admission Procedure

Eligibility & Selection Criteria The candidate should possess at least 60% marks in aggregate or its equivalents grade in master’s degree level. The admission is based on a written entrance examination (4 times a year, Jan, April, Aug and Nov.) followed by an interview.

Applicants who have qualified national wide examinations, UGC-NET (including JRF)/joint UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/ICAR (ASRB)-NET/ICMR JRF/DBT-JRF/NBHM are exempted from entrance examination and will appear directly to the discussion meeting for PhD enrolment. The national fellowship holders and potential DBT INSPIRE applicants are welcome to contact the faculties of their research interest.

University Fellowship

Selected PhD students will receive a fellowship of Rs. 36000/- per month. The University will also financially support participation in national/international conferences.

Hostel & accommodation

Students will be provided boarding and accommodation at a highly subsidised rate.

• One-time registration fee: INR 10,000/-
• Tuition fee: INR 40,000 per annum [completely waived as part of the scholarship]
• Thesis evaluation fee: INR 10,000/ [at the time of thesis submission]
