ہندوستان کا وفادار کون؟

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ وَالصَّلوة والسلام على سيد الْمُرْسَلِينَ وَ عَلَى الِهِ وَأَصْحَابِهِ أَجْمَعِينَ أَمَّا بَعْدُ قَالَ النَّبِي صلی الله علیہ وسلم إِنَّمَا الْعُلَمَاءُ وَرَثَةُ الأَنْبِيَاءِ أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَوةُ وَالسَّلَامِ

وہ سن کے آجائے تاریخ کو پسینہ

تیرا دیا کسی نے مرے خون میں سفینہ

بھارت کے شیر کتنے مرے خون میں نہائے

ٹوٹا مرے لہو میں کتنوں کا آبگینہ

کچھ لوگ میرے خون سے ہولی منارہے تھے

کچھ لوگ بھر رہے تھے مرے خوں سے آبگینہ

صحرا میں جا کے چھلکا میرے لہو کا ساغر

انصاف مانگنے کی ایسی صدا کہیں نا

حضرات گرامی  ! مختلف تہذیبوں کا گہوارہ ہمارا یہ ہندوستان جنت نما ہے۔ جس کی گود میں گنگا جمنا کی روانی ہے کو سی اور ستلج کی جوانی ہے۔ لال قلعہ اور جامع مسجد کی مضبوطی وپاکیزگی ہے، (14 اگست پر تقریر)

تاج محل کی خوبصورتی ہے ، اونچے اونچے پہاڑ ہیں، من موہن جھیل اور آبشار ہیں، مختلف مذہب و ملت، دین و دھرم کے ماننے والے ہیں، کوئی ایک خدا اور پر میشور کی عبادت کرتا ہے۔ تو کوئی سینکڑوں دیوی دیوتاؤں کے آگے سر جھکاتا ہے۔ کوئی پتھروں کو پوجتا ہے تو کوئی درختوں کے آگے اپنا سر تسلیم خم کرتا ہے۔ کوئی گاؤ ماتا کہہ کر اس کو بھگوان کا درجہ دیتا ہے تو کوئی فوٹو اور تصاویر کے سامنے اپنے ہر دے کو شانتی پہونچاتا ہے۔

اس دھرتی نے جہاں بڑے بڑے بانہوں کو جنم دیا ہے وہیں ہزاروں تاریخ ساز علماء، صلحا، عباد، زیاد، کی پرورش و پرداخت کی ہے۔ ہم بھی اسی دیش کے اندر پیدا ہوئے ہیں اس کی مٹی نے ہماری پرورش و پرداخت کی ہے۔ تہذیب و شائستگی کا اعلی معیار عطا کیا ہے ہم کو اس ملک کے ذرے ذرے سے پیار ہے اس کی مٹی اور سبزے سے پیار ہے۔ اس کے اونچے اونچے پہاڑ اور وسیع و عریض صحراؤں سے پیار ہے۔ اس کے جھیلوں اور آبشاروں سے پیار ہے۔ اس کے مساجد و مدارس سے پیار ہے۔ اس کے محلات و قلعات سے پیار ہے۔

اسی لئے اس کی عصمت و عفت کی حفاظت کو ہم اپنی ذمہ داری سمجھتے ہیں اس کی گود کی رکچھا کو اپنا دھرم تصور کرتے ہیں، اس کے ذرے ذرے کی صیانت کو اپنا ایمان گردانتے ہیں کیوں کہ جس مذہب کے ہم ماننے والے ہیں جن قوانین کے ہم پیرو ہیں اس نے ہمیں بے وفائی نہیں بلکہ وفاداری کا سبق دیا ہے۔ احسان فراموشی نہیں احسان شناسی کا سبق دیا ہے اس نے ہمیں بزدلی نہیں بلکہ حوصلہ دیا ہے۔ اس نے ہمیں لومڑی کی عیاری نہیں بلکہ شیر کا دل عطا کیا ہے، اس نے ہمیں تلوار کے سایے میں جینا سکھایا ہے اس نے ہمیں جفاکشی کی مشق کرائی ہے۔ اس نے ہمیں تو پوں اور ٹینکوں سے ٹکرانے کا حوصلہ دیا ہے۔ 14 اگست یوم آزادی پاکستان تقریر

ارے سر زمین مکہ سے پوچھ لو، سر زمین مدینہ ہے پوچھ لو، مصر و شام سے پوچھ لو، روس و ایران سے پوچھ لو، روم و فارس سے پوچھ لو، اندلس وا پسین سے پوچھ لو کہ کیسی کیسی وفاداری کا ثبوت ہم نے پیش کیا ہے، جب ہم مکہ میں تھے تو مکہ کے ساتھ وفاداری کی تھی۔ مدینہ میں تھے تو مدینہ کے ساتھ وفاداری کی تھی، مصر میں تھے تو مصر کے ساتھ وفاداری کی تھی، شام میں تھے تو شام کے ساتھ وفاداری کی تھی، روس و ایران میں تھے تو روس و ایران کے ساتھ وفاداری کی تھی، روم و فارس کے ساتھ تھے تو روم و فارس کے ساتھ وفاداری کی تھی، اندلس واسپین میں تھے تو اندلس واسپین کے ساتھ وفاداری کی تھی،

اور جب ہم اپنے اکابرین کی شکل میں اسی ہندوستان اور بھارت میں تھے تو اس وقت ہم نے تو ایسی ایسی وفاداری کا ثبوت پیش کیا کہ دنیا حیران و ششدر ہے ، اسی بھارت کے عصمت کی حفاظت کی خاطر ہم نے گولیاں کھائیں، تو ہوں اور ٹینکوں کے نشانے بنے ، پھانسی کے پھندوں پر چڑھنا پڑا، جیلوں کی مشقتوں کو برداشت کیا نذر آتش کر دئے گئے۔

اے سر زمین ہند سُن! اور غور سے سُن۔ میں اپنی وفاداری کی روداد سنانے جارہا ہوں۔

آج کی بد حال دنیا کے بھی دن پھر جائیں گے اسے مؤرخ ہم اگر تاریخ دہرانے اٹھے جب ہندوستان کی سرزمین میں انگریزوں کا ناپاک سایہ پڑا، اور وہ اپنی شاطرانہ و عیارانہ چالوں سے یہاں کے مالک بن بیٹھے۔ جب باشندگان ہند پر طرح طرح کے ظلم و ستم کے پہاڑ توڑے جانے لگے۔ جب ہندوستان کو غلام بنایا جانے لگا جب ہندوستانیوں کا خون ان کے پسینوں سے بھی ارزاں ہونے لگا، تو ایسے نازک دور میں سب سے پہلے جس نے علم بغاوت بلند کیا۔ وہ محدث کبیر ، نازشن وطن شاہ عبد العزیز بن ولی اللہ محدث دہلوی ہیں۔ شاہ عبد العزیز کا فتویٰ کیا تھا گویا ایک برق تپاں تھا جو دشمنوں کے نخل تمنا پر گر پڑی۔ انگریز کی نیندیں حرام ہو گئیں جگہ جگہ آزادی کے شعلے بھڑ کنے لگے جگہ جگہ آزادی کے پرچم لہرانے لگے ، بینوں میں ولولے چلنے نگے اور حوصلوں نے انگڑائیاں لینی شروع کر دیں۔

یہ ایک حقیقت ہے کہ اگر ہندوستان کی جنگ آزادی میں علماء کرام شریک نہیں ہوتے تو ہندوستان کبھی آزاد نہیں ہوتا۔ اگر یہ سر حیل آزادی نہ ہوتے تو تحریک آزادی نہ چلتی۔ تحریک بالا کوٹ نہ چلتی، تحریک ریشمی رومال نہ چلتی، تحریک خلافت نہ چلتی، ہندوستان چھوڑو تحریک نہ چلتی ، مقدمہ وہا بیان نہ چلتا، انبالہ سازش کیس نہ بنتا۔ الغرض علماء کرام ہی نے اپنے خون جگر سے عروس آزادی کی حنا بندی کی ہے۔ اور اپنے مقدس لہو سے شجر آزادی کو سینچا اور پروان چڑھایا ہے۔ چنانچہ ۱۸۵۷ء کی جنگ آزادی میں دو محاذ بنائے گئے۔

ایک محاذ انبالہ جس کی قیادت مولانا جعفر تھانیسر کی کے پاس تھی اور دوسرا محاذ شاملی پر ، جس کی قیادت حضرت حاجی امد اللہ مہاجر مکی کے پاس تھی۔ اس جنگ میں بڑے بڑے علماء و صلحا شہید ہوئے۔ اسی جنگ میں مولانا نانا توی زخمی ہوئے۔ اسی جنگ آزادی میں مولانا گنگوہی زخمی ہوئے۔ اسی جنگ میں حافظ ضامن شہید ہوئے۔ اس ۱۸۵۷ء کی جنگ آزادی بین دو لاکھ مسلمان شہید ہوئے جن میں ساڑھے اکیاون ہزار علماء کرام تھے۔ صرف دہلی کے اندر پانچ سو علماء کو پھانسی کے پھندے پر لٹکایا گیا۔ ۱۸۶ء میں تین لاکھ قرآن کریم کے نسخے کو بد بخت انگریزوں نے جلا ڈالا۔ اسی کے بعد ہی سے علماء کرام کو ختم کرنے کا فیصلہ کر لیا۔(یوم آزادی ہند پر تقریر)

انگریز مؤرخ ٹامسن لکھتا ہے کہ ۱۸۷۴ء سے لے کر ۱۸۶۶ء تک اس تین سالوں میں انگریز نے چودہ ہزار علماء کو تختہ دار پر لٹکایا۔ ٹامسن کہتا ہے کہ ولی کی چاندنی چوک سے لے کر پشاور کی جامع مسجد تک کوئی ایسا درخت نہیں تھا جس پر علماء کی گردنیں نہ لٹکی ہوں۔ ٹامسن کہتا ہے کہ علماء کے جسموں کو تانبے سے داغا گیا۔ ٹامسن کہتا ہے کہ علماء کو سوروں کی کھالوں میں بند کر کے تنوروں میں ڈالا گیا ٹامسن کہتا ہے کہ علماء کو ہاتھیوں پر کھڑا کر کے درختوں سے باندھ کر نیچے سے ہاتھیوں کو چلا دیا گیا۔ ٹامسن کہتا ہے کہ لاہور کی جامع مسجد جس کے صحن میں انگریز نے پھانسی کا پھند ابنایا تھا اس میں ایک ایک دن میں اتنی اتنی علماء کو پھانسی دیدی جاتی تھی۔

ٹامسن کہتا ہے کہ لاہور کے چدنیائے راوی میں اتنی اتنی علماء کو بوریوں میں بند کر کے ڈال دیا جاتا اور اوپر سے گولیوں کا نشانہ بنایا جاتا۔ انہیں شیدائیاں اسلام میں شیخ الہند اور مولانا عبید اللہ سندھی بھی ہیں۔ جن کو آج دنیا اسیر ان مالٹا سے جانتی ہے۔ انہوں نے انگریزوں کے خلاف یا تحریک چلائی کہ عقل انسانی حیران ششدر رہ جاتی ہے جسے تحریک ریشمی رومال سے جانا جاتا ہے۔ شیخ الہند کے ہر دل عزیز شاگرد شیخ الاسلام مولانا حسین احمد مدنی ہیں جنھوں نے خلافت کا نفرنس کراچی میں ایسے وقت میں شرکت کی کہ انہیں

گولی مار دینے کا حکم مل چکا تھا۔ لوگوں کا خیال تھا کہ حسین احمد نہیں آئے گا مگر لوگوں کی آنکھیں حیرت سے پھٹی کی پھٹی رہ گئیں۔ جب وہ مرد مجاہد کفن بر دوش ہو کر اسٹیج پر آیا اور جلسہ کی صدارت فرمائی۔ اس کا نفرنس میں حضرت نے انگریزوں کو بلبل اور گولیوں کو گل سے تشبیہہ دیتے ہوئے فرمایا: لئے پھرتی ہے بلبل چونچ میں گل شہید ناز کی تربت کہاں ہے حضرت نے یہ شعر پڑھا تو لوگ جوش میں آدھے گھنٹے تک مسلسل نعرے لگاتے رہے۔ اور پھر علماء کی قربانیوں اور اپنے ایک فتوے کی جانب اشارے کرتے ہوئے انگریز کو مخاطب کر کے فرمایا: کھلونا سمجھ کر نہ برباد کرنا کہ ہم بھی کسی کے بنائے ہوئے ہیں فرنگی کی فوجوں میں حرمت کے فتوے کا سردار چڑھ کر بھی گائے ہوئے ہیں وہ شجر آزادی کے خوں دے کے سینچا تو پھل اسکے پکنے کو آئے ہوئے ہیں

محترم سامعین ! مولانا حسین احمد مدنی، ڈاکٹر احمد انصاری، مولانا ابوالکلام آزاد انہیں لوگوں کی سیاسی رہنمائی میں ۱۹۲۰ء میں آخری جنگ ہوئی۔ اس میں بھی پانچ خودلاور شہید ہوئے۔ چودہ ہزار علماء جیل گئے۔ بالآخر ۱۹۴۷ء میں ہندوستان کا آخری گورنر جنرل لارڈ ماؤنٹ بیٹن رخصت ہو گیا اور حضرت شاہ ولی اللہ محدث دہلوی کے دور سے چل رہی آزادی کی تحریک اپنی منزل مراد پانے میں کامیاب ہو گئی۔ اے سر زمین ہندوستان سنا تم نے، یہ ہے ہماری وفاداری کی تاریخ اور اس کی روداد اور آج ہم پورے یقین اور حوصلے کے ساتھ کہتے ہیں کہ آج بھی اگر کوئی ناپاک قدم تیرے سینے پر ڈالے گا تو اس کے لئے پاؤں ہم کاٹ ڈالیں گے اگر کوئی انگشت نمائی کرے گا تو اس کی انگلیوں کو ہم تراش ڈالیں گے۔

اگر کوئی تمھاری عصمت و عفت کو داغدار کرنا چاہے گا تو حسین احمد مدنی بن کر اس کی حفاظت ہم کریں گے۔ اگر کوئی تمہاری عزت و ناموس کو تاراج کرنا چاہے گا تو محمود الحسن بن کر اس کی رکچھا ہم کریں گے ، اگر کوئی للچائی نگاہ سے تمہیں دیکھنے کی کوشش کرے گا تو حاجی امداد اللہ مہاجر مکی بن کر ہم اس کی آنکھیں نکال ڈالیں گے ۔ اگر کوئی تمہاری کود سونی کرنا چاہے گا تو حفظ الرحمن سیوہاروئی بن کر اس کا کلیجہ ہم چاک کر ڈالیں گے ۔ اگر کوئی تم سے تمھاراسنگھار چھینا چاہے گا تو عبید اللہ سندھی بن کر اس کے سر کے دو ٹکڑے کر ڈالیں گے ، اگر کوئی تم سے تمہارا ساون غصب کرنا چاہے گا تو اس کی زندگی کو تباہ و برباد کر ڈالیں گے۔ زخم کھائیں گے مسکرائیں گے اور پھر انقلاب لائیں گے چاہے وہ امر یکہ ہو یا روس، فرانس ہو یا یہ طانیہ ، جنگن ہو یا پاکستان، کسی کی ہمیں پرواہ نہیں۔

ان کہ تو پوں اور ٹینکوں سے ٹکرانے کا حوصلہ ہمارے اندر موجود ہے، تیروں اور تلواروں کے سایے میں ہماری پرورش ہوئی ہے، بارودی شعلوں کا ہم نے خوب تجربہ کیا ہے۔ اینٹی ہتھیاروں کو ہم نے خوب دیکھا ہے۔ بدر کی تاریخ ہمارے پاس ہے، احمد کا معرکہ ہم نے سر کیا ہے، خندق کی پریشانیوں کو ہم نے برداشت کیا ہے، خیبر کے نخلستان پر ہم نے قبضہ کیا ہے، تبوک کے رعب و دبدبے ہمارے پاس ہیں، ارے فتح مکہ بھی تو بہری ہی طاقت وقوت کا نتیجہ ہے۔ صدائیں آج بھی آتی ہیں طاق کسرئی سے ورق ورق ہے مری زندگی کا عبرت خیر اے سرزمین بھارت ! اب ذرا تم اپنے دوسرے لال کی خبر لو کہ اس نے تمھارے ساتھ کیا وفاداری کی ہے۔ اور تم کو کیا دیا ہے۔

یہی تو کہ اس نے تم کو ساری دنیا میں رسوا کیا۔ تمھارے گاندھی کو مار ڈالا، تمھارے گئے میں وطنیت کا پھول ڈالنے والے ہزاروں انسانوں کو ذبح کر ڈالا، تمھارے اور میں پتے کھیلتے قبیلے کو جلا کر راکھ کر ڈالانہ بر طانیہ اور امریکہ کے بزدل ٹیروں سے دوستی قائم کرلینے ظلم و بربریت کا ساون پر سا دیا۔ فتنہ و فساد پھیلا کر تمھارے جسموں کو لہو لہان کیا ۔ مسجدوں اور عید گاہوں کو توڑ کر تمھارا سنگار چھین لیا، تمھاری گنگا میں نہا نہا کر اس کو گندہ اور پراگندہ کر ڈالا۔ تمھاری کو سی اور ستلج کی حفاظت کو ختم کر دیا۔ تمھارے سرمایے کا غلط استعمال کیا۔ کھلے اور گھوٹالے گئے۔ رام کے نام پر رتھ یاترا کا استعمال کیا۔ اور تمھاری پوری گود کو بجائے پھول کے خون سے بھر دیا۔ رام راج کے سایے میں تمھارے قانون کا غلط استعمال کیا، تمھاری جمہوریت کا شیرازہ بکھیر کر رکھ دیا۔ ایٹمی ہتھیار جو کہ تمہاری رکچھا کیلئے تھے اس کا نشانہ تمھیں کو بنایا تمہارے ان وفاداروں پر گولیاں چلا ئیں جنہوں نے تمہاری حفاظت کی تھی، ان کے قرآن پر اعتراض کیا۔

ان کے دین و دھرم کا مذاق اڑایا۔ ان کے مسلم پرسنل لاء پر پابندی لگوانے کی کوشش کی۔ آزادی نسواں کی صدا بلند کر کے ان کی ہزاروں ماؤوں اور بہنوں کو بے نقاب کر دیا۔ جنہیں ہے شوق کہ کھیلیں وطن کی عصمت سے انہیں کا دعوی ہے کہ ہندوستان ہمارا ہےاے بھارت کی دھرتی! انصاف اور دیانتداری کے ساتھ بتاؤ کہ وفاداری ہم نے کی ہے، تمھاری عصمت و عفت کی حفاظت ہم نے کی ہے۔ تمھاری عزت و ناموری کی خاطر خون ہم نے بہایا ہے۔ تم کو تمھاری من چاہی خوشیاں ہم نے عطا کی ہے، یہ رام کے پجاری اور راون کے پتر ہم ہی کو دھمکی دے رہے ہیں کہ مسلمانو اہندوستان چھوڑو پاکستان جاؤ ، حالانکہ : چمن کو ہم نے خود اپنے لہو سے سینچا ہے ہمیں بہار پہ دعویٰ ہے اپنے حق کی طرح ایسا لگتا ہے کہ ہم کو بھول گئے ہیں، ہماری قربانیوں کو بھول گئے ہیں اور اپنے کو ہندوستان کا ٹھیکیدار بن کر بیٹھے ہیں، یہ تو وقت ہی بتائے گا کہ ہندوستان کس کا ہے اور اس کا ٹھیکیدار کون ہے چمن میں دیکھتے ہیں اب جیت کس کی ہوتی ہے ہیں پھول ایک طرف اور خار ایک طرف دعا کیجئے کہ اللہ تعالٰی ہم سبھی کو وطن کا خادم بنائے اور اکابرین و مخلصین کا پیرو بنائے آمین

Comparative Analysis of Urdu and English Texts of “Subh-e-Azadi” by Faiz Ahmed Faiz

The translation of a poetic work is difficult because it needs to transfer poetic strategies, rhyme, and rhythm, and complex themes. Therefore, the translation lacks many structural and thematic features of the source text. The comparative translational analysis of a poem explores all these features and evaluates the translation in comparison to the source language (SL. The present study is the comparative analysis of Urdu text and English translated text of a milestone of “Subh-e-Azadi” by Faiz Ahmed Faiz, translated by Agha Shahid with the title “Dawn of Freedom” under the domain of Peter Newmark’s model of translation. The poem was written in the backdrop of the creation of Pakistan with the dominant theme of lack of accomplishment of the promised dawn of equality, justice, and freedom. Various civilizations have encoded their cultures, traditions and knowledge in poetry. Composing poetry and decoding it is no less than an art. This article provides a complete critical analysis and overview of Faiz Ahmad Faiz's 'Dawn of Freedom'. Strategies of translation, themes, message and ideas of poem are used in the analysis it will help to understand the main ideas of the poem. Moreover, this article enables to know the transfer of meaning from Subh-E-Azadi to Dawn of Freedom. The purpose of this article is to show the translation strategy used by translator Agha Shahid Ali. This poem is written about the partition of Pakistan and India in 1947 and so called independence. Faiz Ahmad Faiz suggested that this is not the promised freedom. We have to continue our struggle for the real independence.

The present research study is based on comparative analysis of two different translations done by two different writers of the same poem of Bulleh Shah, a renowned Sufi poet. Researcher selected the model of Eugene Nida’s principle of equivalent effect as the framework of this research article. Equivalent effect and feel is the vital element of the theory of translation presented by Eugene A Nida(1964). Nida (1964) claims that the analysis of the surface structure of the source text (ST) makes it easy to transfer the source language content and form into target language. Ju Miao (2000) mentions in his research article that before the publication of “toward a science of translating (1964) translation usually focused on literal translation or free translation. Harga Waktu is one of the most valuable poetic works in modern Islamic poetry. In its sixty five verses, the Bruneian poet,Pengiran Mohammad, depicts his homeland through its past and present history. Meantime, he expresses many Islamic ideas and conceptions about poetry, music, art, knowledge, work, and modern civilization. This anthology, with its five themes, namely, religion ,society, homeland, politics and history, stems from the poet’s deep love of Allah, the prophet, his homeland, his king and all Muslims. It also expresses the writer’s appreciation for art, science and culture in general, and for the art of poetry which he considers ”the trustworthiness of the prophet”, in particular .The poet’s religious and patriotic sentiments are mixed with both thought and philosophy. The poet, as specialist in religion and history, sees Waktu as synonym of time, homeland and history altogether. He mixes history with both religion and philosophy. He also employs his poetic talent in directing his country men along with the rising generation to stick to takwa and religion, and to recognize the value of time in order to further build their country and to acquire the contentment of Allah and the pleasure of the hereafter as well. In this paper, the present writer relates his personal experience in translating this significant Malay anthology into Arabic. He also highlights the main linguistic and cultural problems that he encountered in his translation and the solutions he offered to overcome them.

Intending to identify that how meaning in the source text has been reproduced in the translated text, the study attempts to investigate deforming tendencies used in the selected poems of Abdul Ghani Khan translated from Pashto into English by Imtiaz Ahmed Sahibzada. Imtiaz Sahibzada has translated 141 poems from the mammoth corpus of Abdul Ghani Khan’s Poetry into English and named it The Pilgrim of a Beauty. Using judgmental sampling, ten poems were selected and were analysed in the light of Antoine Berman’s (1965) Text Deformation System which includes twelve deforming tendencies. While analysing the translated text in comparison with the source text, deformation in terms of semantics and the syntactic structure was found.
