bcba coursework online

In 2022, most online BCBA programs are offered as part of a master’s degree program and have been accredited by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. These programs provide coursework in special education, psychology, or applied behavior analysis, and they include the required behavior-analytic coursework necessary to sit for the BCBA exam.

The majority of online programs offer flexible class schedules, with part-time or full-time study options available. Many students continue working while pursuing their degree online and are able to complete all coursework in about two years.

BCBA Certification

If you have looked into becoming a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA), you are probably aware of the coursework requirements established by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). These requirements are in place to ensure that behavior therapists are competent and skilled practitioners in the field of applied behavior analysis (ABA).

The three primary requirements for becoming a BCBA are:

  • A graduate degree with relevant behavior-analytic coursework.
  • Practical experience or supervised fieldwork.
  • Passing the national BCBA certification exam.

All BCBA certification programs must be at the master’s or doctoral level in the fields of behavior analysis, education, or psychology. It is also essential that your degree program covers behavior-analytic coursework that meets BACB standards as verified course sequences. A preliminary degree evaluation is available for students who are unsure if their degree meets all BACB requirements.

Online BCBA Certification Programs

Online certification programs that have been verified by the BACB to meet all coursework requirements qualify and prepare students to sit for the national BCBA exam. Selecting a program from an accredited college or university is the best way to make sure you are enrolling in a reputable educational program.

ABA programs are offered by universities and educational institutions across the country. Here is a selection of top online BCBA graduate programs in 2022:

  • University of Dayton : Designated as a verified course sequence by the Association for Behavior Analysis International, completion of this Master of Applied Behavior Analysis degree qualifies students to sit for the BCBA exam.
  • Simmons University : A Master in Behavior Analysis can be completed in as little as 23 months. Live classes are held weekly via webcam, mentoring and supervision hours are included in the course, and no GRE is required to apply.
  • Pepperdine University : An online Master of Science in Behavioral Psychology is offered through the School of Education and Psychology. Included in the coursework is the curriculum needed to qualify for the BCBA exam. The curriculum is delivered through a combination of online coursework, in-person classes, and local clinical experience.

  • Drexel University : An online Master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis is offered through this top-ranking university. With coursework accredited by the BACB, this program can be completed on a part-time or full-time schedule. Online or on-campus options are also available.
  • Monmouth University : An online Master of Education in Special Education with an autism or ABA track is offered. The ABA track must be selected in order to complete the required coursework to sit for the BCBA exam. The online ABA certificate can also be earned independently of the master’s degree.
  • The Chicago School of Professional Psychology : A part-time, online Master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis is offered that can be completed in 28 months. This program meets the educational requirements for students to qualify to take the BCBA exam and prepares students to work with many different populations in their careers.

  • Oregon Institute of Technology : This online Master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis program follows the BACB course sequence for anyone who wishes to take the BCBA exam. Students must take nine BCBA courses plus additional electives. Second-year students who live locally can complete their practicum placement through Oregon Tech’s ABA program.

  • Cairn University : Ranked and accredited, this online program allows students to complete a Master of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis. • Ball State University : An accredited and relatively affordable degree program, this online Master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis is entirely online and can be completed in less than two years. Students complete BCBA-required courses and have the option to add an emphasis in autism.
  • University of Southern Maine : An online Master of Science in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in ABA is offered. Courses are offered online with weekly online meetings with your professors and classmates. Students typically take one or two courses per semester and complete the entire BACB-certified program within two years.

Online vs. In-Person Programs

The decision to complete an online ABA program instead of an in-person program should be based on your personal needs and without fear of compromising any educational quality of the program. Online education has come a long way in recent years, and in 2022, an online education is on par with the quality of an in-person one. As long as you select a BACB-certified program, you can be sure that the coursework you receive meets all eligibility and certification requirements.

Online and on-campus graduates of ABA programs exhibit similar pass rates on the BCBA exam. According to Simmons University, 85% of their graduates in 2018, whether from their online or on-campus program, passed the BCBA exam on their first try.

An online program puts more responsibility on the student to study independently and progress through the coursework in a timely manner, but there is just as much potential for educational success as there is through a traditional on-campus program. If you know you struggle with personal time management, an in-person program may be better for you.

Working Toward Your BCBA Certification Online

Completion of an online BCBA certification program is an excellent route for people who can not otherwise attend a traditional on-campus program. Online programs provide flexibility and cost savings that not many in-person programs can offer.

As long as you are diligent about verifying the credentials of your program, an online BCBA program may be your way to achieving the behavior analyst certification that you want. It’s the first step on your journey to becoming a BCBA.

There are several pathways to become a BCBA, but all require a degree, field experience and passing the BCBA certification exam. Students in PCOM’s ABA certificate of advanced graduate studies (CAGS) program can apply for BCBA certification via the behavior-analytic coursework option. To obtain certification in this manner, applicants must:

  • have earned a graduate degree from a qualifying institution (e.g., master’s or doctoral) in behavior analysis, education, or psychology;
  • completed graduate-level BCBA coursework at a qualifying institution that meets ABAI’s requirements;
  • achieved a passing grade (“C” or better in graded courses)*;
  • complete the ABAI-defined practical experience in applied behavior analysis; and pass the certification exam.
  • Students in PCOM’s ABA certificate of graduate studies (CGS) with a bachelor’s degree may seek certification as a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst® (BCaBA®) . A BCBA can practice without supervision but a BCaBA must have a certified supervisor (BCBA or Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral™ - BCBA-D®).

* Please note: PCOM requires students in the applied behavior analysis program to achieve a "B" or better in graded courses.

What is the difference between a Registered Behavior Technician® and a BCBA?

A Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT®) is trained to implement interventions as part of an applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy program. RBTs use these interventions to teach social, communicative and other adaptive skills and to address challenging behaviors. RBTs—under the supervision of a BCBA, BCBA-D or BCaBA—work with individuals to provide support and ensure that newly learned behaviors can be applied outside of therapy including home, school and community settings. RBT supervisors determine which tasks the RBT may perform based on the technician’s training and experience. The RBTs do not conduct behavioral assessments or design intervention plans.

Prepare for the BCBA Exam and BCBA Certification

PCOM’s applied behavior analysis program trains professionals to assess and support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as other neurodevelopmental and behavioral disorders.

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is trained to provide and supervise behavior analysis services, including the work of RBTs. PCOM’s ABA program meets ABAI requirements for the coursework necessary to sit for the BCBA exam.

Understanding BCBA Programs

To embark on a career as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), it is essential to understand what BCBA programs entail and the benefits they offer.

What Are BCBA Programs?

BCBA programs refer to educational programs that prepare individuals to become certified behavior analysts. These programs provide the necessary knowledge and training required to work effectively in the field of applied behavior analysis (ABA). ABA focuses on understanding and modifying behavior to improve the lives of individuals with behavioral challenges.

To qualify for BCBA certification, individuals must meet specific educational and experience requirements set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). These requirements typically include obtaining a graduate degree in a related field, such as ABA, special education, or psychology, and completing a specified number of approved courses in behavior analysis.

BCBA programs are designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of behavior analysis principles, assessment techniques, intervention strategies, and ethical considerations. They equip individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to assess, design, and implement behavior change programs to improve the lives of individuals with behavioral challenges.

Benefits of BCBA Programs

Enrolling in a BCBA program offers several benefits for individuals interested in pursuing a career in behavior analysis. Some key advantages include:

  • Professional Recognition : Graduating from a BCBA program and obtaining certification demonstrates a high level of expertise and professionalism in the field of behavior analysis. It enhances credibility and opens up a wide range of career opportunities.
  • Specialized Knowledge : BCBA programs provide in-depth knowledge of behavior analysis principles, assessment techniques, and evidence-based intervention strategies. This specialized knowledge equips individuals with the necessary tools to effectively address behavioral challenges across various settings.
  • Hands-On Experience : BCBA programs typically include supervised practical experience, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings. This hands-on training is a crucial component of becoming a certified behavior analyst, as it helps individuals develop clinical skills and gain practical experience.
  • Career Advancement : BCBA certification opens up a wide range of career opportunities. BCBAs can work in various settings, including schools, clinics, hospitals, and community organizations, providing behavior analytic services to individuals with developmental disabilities and other behavioral challenges.
  • Ethical Responsibilities : BCBA programs emphasize ethical considerations and professional conduct in the field of behavior analysis. Graduates of these programs are equipped with a strong understanding of ethical guidelines and are committed to upholding ethical standards in their practice.

BCBA programs play a critical role in preparing individuals to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with behavioral challenges. They provide the necessary education and training to become effective behavior analysts and contribute to the field of applied behavior analysis.

In the next section, we will explore the world of online BCBA programs, highlighting their features, advantages, and considerations for choosing the right program.

Online BCBA Programs

For individuals interested in pursuing a career as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), online programs provide a flexible and convenient option to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills. Considerations for Choosing an Online BCBA Program

When selecting an online BCBA program, there are several factors to consider:

By considering these factors, individuals can make an informed decision when choosing an online BCBA program that best suits their needs and helps them embark on a successful career in behavior analysis.

Requirements for BCBA Certification

To become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), individuals must meet specific requirements set by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). These requirements encompass coursework, supervised fieldwork experience, and passing the BCBA Certification Exam . Let's take a closer look at each of these requirements.

Coursework Requirements

To be eligible for BCBA certification, individuals must complete a relevant graduate degree program that meets the BACB's coursework requirements. The coursework must cover specific content areas, including:

The specific number of credit hours required in each content area may vary depending on the program and the BACB's guidelines. It's important to ensure that the chosen BCBA program satisfies the coursework requirements set by the BACB.

Supervised Fieldwork Experience

Supervised fieldwork experience is a crucial component of becoming a BCBA. Individuals must complete 1,500 hours of supervised fieldwork experience within a 12-month period. During this experience, individuals gain hands-on training and apply the principles of behavior analysis in real-world settings.

The fieldwork experience must be supervised by qualified professionals. There should be a minimum of two supervisors, with at least one being a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA). Individual and group supervision hours must be logged to ensure adequate guidance and support throughout the fieldwork experience.

It's important to note that the fieldwork experience should be completed within 180 days and should not exceed a 12-month period from the start date. Meeting these requirements ensures that individuals gain the necessary practical skills and knowledge to become competent BCBAs.

BCBA Certification Exam

After completing the coursework and supervised fieldwork experience, individuals must pass the BCBA Certification Exam. This comprehensive exam assesses the individual's understanding of behavior analysis principles, ethical considerations, and practical application of behavior analysis techniques.

The BCBA Certification Exam consists of multiple-choice questions that cover various content areas within behavior analysis. It tests the individual's ability to apply knowledge and make informed decisions in real-world scenarios. Passing this exam demonstrates the individual's competence in the field of behavior analysis and qualifies them for BCBA certification.

Successfully meeting the coursework requirements, completing supervised fieldwork experience, and passing the BCBA Certification Exam are essential steps on the path to becoming a BCBA. These requirements ensure that individuals possess the necessary theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and ethical understanding to provide effective behavior analysis interventions and support to individuals with behavioral challenges.

Accredited online programs maintain high standards of education and ensure that students receive a quality learning experience.

By carefully selecting an accredited online BCBA program, individuals can pursue their BCBA certification with confidence, knowing that they are receiving a rigorous and comprehensive education in applied behavior analysis. These programs provide a pathway to becoming a board-certified behavior analyst while offering the flexibility and convenience that many students desire.

The Path to Becoming a BCBA

Online BCBA Programs: Flexibility and Convenience

Online BCBA programs offer flexibility and convenience, making them an attractive option for individuals pursuing a career in behavior analysis. These programs are designed to provide working professionals with the opportunity to balance their educational pursuits with other commitments.

Features of Online BCBA Programs

Online BCBA programs, as highlighted by Online Counseling Programs , offer several features that make them appealing to students. These features include:

Accredited Online BCBA Programs

Specific online platforms have been accredited by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) to offer BCBA programs. These programs are designed to meet the educational requirements needed for certification in behavior analysis. It's important for students to review the BACB's Accredited Programs list to ensure that their chosen online program meets the necessary requirements for certification. Accredited programs ensure that students receive a quality education and are well-prepared for the BCBA certification exam.

Balancing Education and Other Commitments

One of the significant advantages of online BCBA programs is the ability to balance education with other commitments. Working professionals can pursue their career goals while maintaining their current job or attending to family responsibilities. The flexibility of online programs allows students to study when it best suits their schedule, eliminating the need for rigid time constraints.

By offering a more flexible learning environment, online BCBA programs accommodate the needs of individuals who may not have the ability to attend traditional on-campus classes. This flexibility empowers students to pursue their educational aspirations without sacrificing their existing commitments.

In summary, online BCBA programs provide flexibility and convenience for individuals seeking to become behavior analysts. These programs offer features such as flexible schedules, self-paced learning, access to resources, and interactions with faculty. Accredited online programs ensure that students receive a quality education and meet the necessary requirements for certification. With the ability to balance education and other commitments, online BCBA programs open doors for individuals to pursue their career goals while managing their responsibilities effectively.

The Importance of Practical Experience

When pursuing a career as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), practical experience plays a vital role in developing the necessary skills and competencies. Practical experience provides hands-on training that complements the theoretical knowledge gained through coursework. In this section, we will explore the significance of practical experience in BCBA programs, its application in real-world settings, and the requirements for BCBA certification.

Hands-On Training in BCBA Programs

BCBA programs recognize the importance of hands-on training to prepare students for professional practice. Practical experience allows students to apply the principles and techniques they learn in the classroom to real-life scenarios. Through supervised fieldwork and practical exercises, students gain valuable insights into the implementation and evaluation of behavior analytic interventions.

By working directly with individuals with behavioral challenges, BCBA students develop critical skills such as behavior assessment, intervention planning, data collection, and analysis. This hands-on training enables students to become proficient in creating and implementing behavior change programs tailored to the unique needs of their clients.

Applying Theoretical Knowledge in Real-World Settings

The application of theoretical knowledge in real-world settings is a crucial aspect of becoming a competent BCBA. Practical experience provides an opportunity for students to bridge the gap between theory and practice. By working directly with clients, students witness the complexities and nuances of behavior change in real-time.

During practical experience, students learn to adapt evidence-based strategies to the specific needs of their clients. They gain insights into the challenges and successes that arise during the implementation of behavior analytic interventions. This real-world exposure enhances their problem-solving abilities and fosters critical thinking skills.

Practical Experience Requirements for BCBA Certification

To be eligible for BCBA certification, individuals must complete 1,500 hours of supervised fieldwork experience within a 12-month period, as outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). During this experience, individuals are required to log individual and group supervision hour. It is essential to have at least two supervisors, with one being a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA).

The fieldwork experience must be completed within 180 days and should not exceed a 12-month period from the individual's start date. This requirement ensures that individuals gain practical experience within a reasonable timeframe, allowing for continuous professional growth and development.

In addition to completing the required fieldwork experience, individuals seeking BCBA certification must pass the Board exam and have already completed a relevant graduate degree program. These rigorous requirements ensure that BCBAs possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and practical experience to effectively support individuals with behavioral challenges.

Practical experience is a vital component of BCBA programs, enabling students to apply their knowledge, develop essential skills, and gain a deeper understanding of behavior analysis in real-world contexts. By combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on training, BCBA students are well-prepared to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals with behavioral challenges.

In conclusion, becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) requires dedication, determination, and a willingness to learn. The path to certification involves completing the necessary coursework, gaining practical experience through supervised fieldwork, and passing the BCBA certification exam.

Online BCBA programs offer flexibility and convenience for individuals seeking to balance their educational pursuits with other commitments. Practical experience is a vital component of BCBA programs, enabling students to apply their knowledge in real-world settings and develop essential skills. By following the steps outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), individuals can embark on a fulfilling career as a BCBA and make a positive impact on the lives of those with behavioral challenges.

“ What can I do with a master's in behavior analysis practice? ”

Bcba specializations and applications.

Applied behavior analysis (ABA) provides a scientific, systematic, and strategic approach to learning behavior and teaching. It is often implemented as an intensive therapeutic or educational practice and focuses on socially significant behavior. It is characterized by ongoing observation, data collection, and frequent evaluation of learner progress. ABA therapies primarily focus on building functional skills but also address replacing behaviors that interfere with the individual’s ability to learn or effectively function in their daily life. Practitioners of ABA currently work in various areas, including education, healthcare (including mental health), business management, sports, animal training, and other areas where learning and improved performance are goals. ABA has no “one size fits all” strategy; every challenge is different, every individual unique.

Practical training experience

Other graduate programs in behavior analysis require students to structure their own practicum and find a fieldwork supervisor. At the Global Institute of Behavior Analysis, we designed the practical training component with flexibility and student support in mind. Our practical training coordinator will guide you each step of the way through your fieldwork experience,  from selecting a site location to working with your supervisor.

You select your learning experience

You may choose between two practicum experiences: intensive supervised fieldwork or supervised fieldwork.

Intensive supervised fieldwork

  • 1,500 hours
  • 10% of hours overseen by qualified supervisor
  • 4 meetings/observations monthly

Supervised fieldwork hours

  • 2,000 hours
  • 5% of hours overseen by qualified supervisor
  • 2 meetings/observations monthly

You set the learning pace

You are not required to complete the entirety of your practicum experience hours while enrolled in the online master's program in behavior analysis. You are only required to complete half of the required licensure hours during the program. The remaining hours can be completed after you finish the master's program and move into the next phase of your career.

As a behavior analysis professional, we want to encourage you to be your own advocate, to structure your learning experience that fits with your classroom, work and personal life needs. You know what quality training looks like.

Over the course of several practicum courses students will complete supervised fieldwork and exam preparation. Students will complete test preparation modules throughout the program to ensure students graduate ready to take the certification exam.

Training overview and requirements

Practical training can take place in multiple environments with a variety of clients. OnABA will train and coordinate with each supervisor to make sure experience meets each student’s needs. Students can participate in a blend of group and individual meetings with their supervisor. Supervisors will observe trainees performing behavior analytic tasks and provide guidance and feedback. During meetings, supervisors will model technical, professional, and ethical acquisition targets. Supervisors will teach trainees to monitor the effects of behavioral service delivery and oversee this process. The supervisor will also monitor the outcomes of their own supervision and make changes to procedures as needed.

In addition to observations and meetings, supervisors will direct trainees to complete client related, BACB task-list oriented assignments. These assignments will include readings and discussion, behavioral program development, literature reviews on client related topics, data analysis and interpretation, developing data recording systems, etc. (see BACB fieldwork standards for additional examples of activities). These assignments will be reviewed during meetings, and feedback will be provided.

Site selection

Each student will need to identify a practical training site. An affiliate agreement must be signed between the practical training site and the University of Nevada, Reno. Students will have from the time of admission to the second semester of the program to secure this.

Supervisor selection

Each student must identify a supervisor to oversee their practical training. OnABA staff will review and approve the credentials of all supervisors. Supervisors must participate in training provided by OnABA. An approved contract must be signed by the supervisor and the student.

Coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis (BCBA) Overview

Behavior analysis is a scientific approach to analyzing behavior and how the environment affects it. "Behavior" refers to all kinds of actions and skills (not just misbehavior), and "environment" includes all sorts of physical and social events that might change or be changed by one's behavior. The science of behavior analysis focuses on principles (that is, general laws) about how behavior works, or how learning takes place. For example, one principle of behavior analysis is positive reinforcement: When a behavior is followed by something that is valued, that behavior is likely to be repeated. Through decades of research, the field of behavior analysis has developed many techniques for increasing useful behaviors and reducing those that may be harmful or that interfere with learning. Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is the use of those tactics and principles to address socially important problems, and to bring about meaningful behavior change.

The classes offered within the Applied Behavior Analysis course sequence are approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) under the 5th Edition Standards and satisfy the coursework requirements to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).This coursework does not lead to licensure as a Behavior Analyst (LBA) in the State of New York.

ABA program mission statement

Our goal is to prepare students to be competent, inclusive, ethical, and professional behavior analysts who work with persons with developmental disabilities and their families.

Students coming out of our program will:

  • Understand and fluently apply the principles of behavior analysis.
  • Have a working knowledge of current evidence-based practices for individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Select or create contextually appropriate, evidence-based interventions for individuals with whom they work and critically analyze and evaluate the effects of those interventions.
  • Work collaboratively and openly with schools, families and other community stakeholders, always with an understanding of how culture and equity impact service delivery.
  • Ensure that the primary outcome of their work is to improve the quality of life for the individual and their family.

Our ABA Program is guided by five core ethical principles.

Behavior analysts have a responsibility to engage in practices that maximize their clients' well-being and avoid those that cause harm. We understand that behavior analytic services are most likely to benefit our clients when they are provided in the context of a trusting and compassionate relationship. Where conflicts of interest arise between consumers of behavior analysis, we prioritize outcomes for the most vulnerable clients.

Behavior analysts have a responsibility to provide individuals of all backgrounds and abilities access to and authentic participation in meaningful activities that promote relationships, a sense of community, and an improved quality of life.

Behavior analysts have a responsibility to be honest and transparent. We engage in ongoing professional development and analyze our own practices. Professional excellence requires respectful and effective collaboration with individuals from other disciplines while maintaining a commitment to data-based decision-making. Analyzing evidence from different methodologies is encouraged as a way of collaborating with others and improving practice.

Behavior analysts respect clients’ rights and promote client dignity, privacy, and autonomy. We assist clients to set and achieve their own goals, develop their own agency, and make decisions about their own lives.

Behavior analysts have a responsibility to attend to injustice where they see it, avoid perpetuating inequitable systems, and advocate for equitable systems change. We are uniquely qualified to identify controlling and contextual variables that contribute to inequitable educational and service-delivery systems and develop solutions to supplant them.

State laws related to licensure of behavior analysts vary and do not necessarily reflect the same requirements as the BCBA certification. Please research the requirements for the state you plan to apply for licensure in. For more information, visit BACB's page on state licensure .

IMPORTANT: Only individuals residing in the United States, Canada and UK may apply for BACB certification. Visit BACB's page on international development .

Master’s examination

During your final quarter, you will need to pass a comprehensive master's examination that covers all ABA content covered throughout the program. This examination is a University of Washington requirement.

Admission requirements and process

We expect our candidates to have practical experience in working with people who have disabilities. This could include experience as a tutor, paraeducator, or teacher in a program that uses ABA strategies and methodologies. Your hands-on experience in this field shows your commitment and understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities.

To strengthen your application, we prefer candidates who have at least one year of direct applied behavior analysis experience. This experience could be gained through working in roles that involve applying ABA principles and techniques.

While we do not impose specific requirements about the field of your bachelor's degree, we highly value any related experiences you may have. Your experiences, regardless of study field, contribute to your understanding and perspective, making you a well-rounded candidate.

If you already hold a master's degree in another field, you can apply to the program as a graduate non-matriculated student. This pathway allows you to take a reduced course load per quarter while still completing the program within two years. We welcome master's degrees from any field of study and value the diverse experiences you bring to the program. If you have any questions about the sufficiency of your master's degree toward certification, please contact the Behavior Analyst Certification Board .

Your degree can be in-progress when applying but must be completed before the program starts.

  • Include one from each institution from which you've earned a degree and one from every institution you have attended in the previous 5 years.
  • Your transcripts must include your name, coursework and degree (if completed)
  • If you are offered admission , the UW Graduate School will request an official transcript from your most recent degree earned

The UW Graduate School requires a cumulative GPA of 3.0, or 3.0 for your most recent 90 graded quarter credits (60 semester credits). However, we review your application holistically. If your GPA is below 3.0, contact us at [email protected] for advice on how to strengthen your overall application.
