Maya Petika Movie Review: ఈ మధ్య కాలంలో కాన్సెప్ట్ ఓరియెంటెడ్ సినిమాలను ప్రేక్షకులు విపరీతంగా ఆదరిస్తున్నారు. అందుకే ఇలాంటి సినిమాలు చేసేందుకు ఆసక్తిచూపిస్తున్నారు దర్శక నిర్మాతలు. ఇక ఇప్పుడు ఇలాంటి తరహా కథతో తెరకెక్కింది మాయా పేటిక. విరాజ్‌ అశ్విన్, పాయల్‌ రాజ్‌పుత్, సిమ్రత్‌ కౌర్, రజత్‌ రాఘవ్‌, సునీల్, శ్రీనివాసరెడ్డి కీలక పాత్రలలో నటించిన సినిమానే ఈ ‘మాయా పేటిక’. రమేష్‌ రాపర్తి దర్శకత్వంలో మాగుంట శరత్‌ చంద్రా రెడ్డి, తారక్‌నాథ్‌ బొమ్మిరెడ్డి నిర్మించిన ఈ సినిమా జూన్ 30న అంటే ఈరోజునే విడుదల అయింది. పోస్టర్లు, టీజర్, ట్రైలర్లతో అంచనాలు అందుకున్న ఈ సినిమా ప్రేక్షకులను ఏ మేరకు ఆకట్టుకుంది అనేది రివ్యూలో చూద్దాం.

కథ: మనిషి జీవితంలో అన్నిటికంటే అందరికంటే సెల్ ఫోన్ కు ముఖ్యం అయింది. ఈ క్రమంలోనే ఒక సెల్ ఫోన్ ను కాదాంశంగా తీసుకుని ఈ సినిమా డైరెక్ట్ చేశారు. చైనాలో తయారైన ఒక సెల్ ఫోన్ పాక్ ఉగ్రవాదులను అంతం చేయడానికి ఎలా పనికొచ్చింది అనేదే ఈ సినిమా కథ. సినీ నటి పాయల్ రాజ్ పుత్(పాయల్ రాజ్ పుత్)కు ఆమె నటిస్తున్న చిత్ర నిర్మాత ఓ సెల్ ఫోన్ ను గిఫ్ట్ గా ఇవ్వడం ఆమె ప్రియుడు ప్రణయ్(ర‌జ‌త్ రాఘ‌వ్)కు నచ్చదు. ఆ ఫోన్ కారణంగా వారిద్దరి మధ్య విభేదాలు ప్రారంభమవవడంతో ఆమె తన ఫోన్ ను అసిస్టెంట్(నూకరాజు)కు గిఫ్ట్ గా ఇచ్చేసి దాన్ని వదిలించుకుంటుంది. అక్కడి నుంచి అది కార్పొరేటర్ కన్నె కామేశ్వరరావు(కమెడియన్ పృథ్వి) చేతికి చేరుతుంది, అతని నోటి దూల వల్ల జైలు పాలవడంతో కార్ వాష్ చేసే ఆలీ(విరాజ్ అశ్విన్) చేతికి చేరుతుంది. అతను అస్రాని(సిమ్రత్ కౌర్)తో ప్రేమలో పడేందుకు అలాగే వారి బ్రేకప్ కు కూడా కారణం అవుతుంది. అక్కడి నుంచి ఓ అపార్ట్ మెంట్ లో సెక్యూరిటీ గార్డు నారాయణ(సునీల్) జీవితంలోకి ఎంట్రీ ఇచ్చి అతను తన భార్య (శ్యామల)తో కలిసి పాటలకు డ్యాన్స్ చేస్తూ నెక్లెస్ గొలుసు నారాయణగా ఫేమస్ అవుతాడు, అతని వద్ద నుంచి బతుకు తెరువు కోసం హిజ్రా వేషం వేసుకు బతికే శీను (శ్రీనివాసరెడ్డి) వద్దకు ఈ ఫోన్ చేరి అతన్నీ మంచి మనిషిగా మారుస్తుంది. అలా ఒక ఎవరి జీవితాల్లో ఎలాంటి మార్పులు తెచ్చింది అన్నదే ఈ సినిమా కథ.

విశ్లేషణ: ఈరోజు అందరికీ నిత్యావసర వస్తువులా మారిన సెల్ ఫోన్ వల్ల మంచి చెడు రెండూ ఉంటాయనే సందేశాన్ని దర్శకుడు అంతర్లీనంగా ఇచ్చే ప్రయత్నం చేశాడు. ప్రేమికుల మధ్య మనస్పర్థలకు ఎలా కారణం అవుతున్నది, ప్రేమికుల మధ్య ప్రేమ చిగురించేలా చేస్తున్నది, టాలెంట్ ఉన్న వారిని ఎక్కడికో తీసుకువెళుతుంది, అజాగ్రత్తగా ఉంటే ఫోన్లోనే ఎలా డబ్బులు పోగొట్టుకున్నది, మంచిగా ఎలా బతకాలి అనుకున్నది అన్నీ సెల్ ఫోనే కారణం అవుతుంది అనే విషయాన్నీ ఆసక్తికరంగా మలిచారు. మంచికి ఉపయోగిస్తే మంచిగా చెడుకు ఉపయోగిస్తే చెడుగా, ఎదిగేందుకు ఉపయోగిస్తే అలా ఉపయోగపడుతుందని కుండబద్దలు కొట్టి చెప్పాడు. ఒక రకంగా ఈ సినిమా అంతా మొబైల్ చుట్టూ తిరుగుతుంది. కాన్సెప్ట్ మంచిదే అయినప్పటికీ దాన్ని తెరపై కన్విన్సింగ్ గా చూపించలేదు. అయితే ఒక ఆంథాలజీ సిరీస్ లా అనిపిస్తుంది, కొంచెం నిడివి పెంచి ఓటీటీకి రిలీజ్ చేసి ఉంటె బాగుండేది. ఎందుకంటే శ్రీనివాసరెడ్డి ఎపిసోడ్ మినహా మిగతా ఎపిసోడ్స్ లో ఎమోషన్స్ మిస్ అయ్యాయి. లాజిక్స్ పక్కన పెట్టి ఒక సారి చూసేయచ్చు.

ఎవరెలా చేశారంటే? ఈ సినిమాలో పాయల్ హీరోయిన్ అనుకుంటాం కానీ ఆమె పాత్ర చిన్నదే. అయితే ఉన్నంతవరకు ఆకట్టుకుంది. విరాజ్ అశ్విన్, సిమ్రత్ కౌర్, సునీల్, శ్యామల ఆకట్టుకున్నారు. అయితే సినిమా మొత్తానికి శ్రీనివాస్ రెడ్డి నటన హైలెట్. ట్రాన్స్ జెండర్‌గాను నటించి మెప్పించారు. పృథ్వి అయితే నిజజీవితాన్ని పోలిన పాత్రతో నవ్వించాడు. ఇక సినిమా కథ బానే ఉన్నా.. తెరపై ఎందుకో ఆకట్టుకోలేదు. డైరెక్టర్ రమేష్ రాపర్తి అంథాలజీ ప్లాన్ చేశారో ఏమో కానీ కొన్ని థ్రిల్లింగ్ ఎలిమెంట్స్ తీసుకోవాల్సి ఉంటె బాగుండేది. సురేశ్ రగుత్ కెమెరా వర్క్ ఆకట్టుకుంది. గుణ బాలసుబ్రహ్మణ్యం మ్యూజిక్ సోసోగా ఉన్నా బ్యాక్ గ్రౌండ్ స్కోర్ ఆకట్టుకుంది. ఎడిటింగ్ గ్రిప్పింగ్ గా ఉంది. ప్రొడకషన్ వాల్యూస్ సినిమాకి తగ్గట్టుగా ఉన్నాయి.

లేటెస్ట్ గా ఈ వారం థియేటర్స్ లోకి వచ్చిన చిత్రాల్లో హీరోయిన్ పాయల్ రాజ్ పుత్ నటించిన ఓ చిన్న చిత్రం “మాయా పేటిక” కూడా ఒకటి. మరి టీజర్ ట్రైలర్ లతో ఆసక్తి రేపిన ఈ చిత్రం ఎలా ఉందో సమీక్షలో తెలుసుకుందాం రండి.

ఇక కథలోకి వస్తే.. పాయల్(పాయల్ రాజ్ పుత్) టాలీవుడ్ లో ఓ స్టార్ట్ హీరోయిన్ కాగా ఆమెకి ఓ ఫ్యాన్సీ స్మార్ట్ ఫోన్ ని అయితే ఓ నిర్మాత ఆమెకి బహుమతిగా అందిస్తాడు. అయితే ఆ ఫోన్ ఆమెకి విపరీతంగా కూడా నచ్చేస్తుంది. కానీ ఓ రోజు దానికి ఏదో ప్రాబ్లమ్ వచ్చింది అని తన అసిస్టెంట్ కి ఇస్తుంది. ఇక అక్కడ నుంచి ఆ ఫోన్ ఎంతోమంది దగ్గరకి మారుతూ ఉంటుంది. దీనితో ఆ ఫోన్ మారిన ప్రతి ఒక్కరితో ఆ ఫోన్ కి ఏదొక అనుభవం ఏర్పడుతుంది. మరి ఇంతకీ ఆ ఫోన్ ఏంటి? ఆ ఫోన్ మూలాన ఏం జరుగుతుంది? అనేవి తెలియాలి అంటే ఈ చిత్రాన్ని చూడాలి.

ప్లస్ పాయింట్స్ :

ఈ చిత్రంలో మొదటి నుంచి ఆసక్తి రేపిందే ఈ సినిమా పాయింట్ ఇది ఈ చిత్రంలో ఎగ్జైటింగ్ గా అనిపిస్తుంది. అలాగే దీనితో కూడిన పలు కామెడీ సన్నివేశాలు ఆకట్టుకుంటాయి. ఇక హీరోయిన్ మెయిన్ లీడ్ లో కనిపించిన పాయల్ రాజ్ పుత్ కాస్త లిమిటెడ్ గానే కనిపించినా ఆమె మంచి పెర్ఫామెన్స్ ని కనబరుస్తుంది.

అలాగే మరో యంగ్ బ్యూటీ సిమ్రాత్ కౌర్ విరాజ్ అశ్విన్ లు తమ రోల్స్ ని చక్కగా రక్తి కట్టించారు. అలాగే నటుడు శ్రీయువస రెడ్డి తనపై కొన్ని ఎమోషనల్ సీన్స్ కదిలిస్తాయి. అలాగే సునీల్, శ్యామల ఇతర ముఖ్య నటులు తమ పాత్రల పరిధి మేరకు అయితే ఆకట్టుకుంటారు. అయితే ఈ సినిమాలో మరికాస్త ఇంట్రెస్టింగ్ గా అనిపించే అంశం అయితే ఇన్స్టాగ్రామ్ హ్యాండిల్ పేర్లు లాంటివి పెట్టడం కాస్త కొత్తగా అనిపిస్తుంది.

మైనస్ పాయింట్స్ :

ఈ చిత్రంలో ఇంట్రెస్టింగ్ కాన్సెప్ట్ ఉన్నప్పటికీ దానిని మాత్రం పూర్తి స్థాయి ఎంగేజింగ్ గా నడిపినట్టుగా అనిపించదు. చాలానే ఇలాంటి చిత్రాలు కాన్సెప్ట్ బాగున్నప్పటికీ సరైన కథనాలు లేకపోవడం వల్ల ఆ యూనిక్ లైన్స్ వేస్ట్ అయ్యిపోతున్నాయి. ఇక అలాగే ఈ చిత్రాన్ని అనవసరంగా బాగా సాగదీసినట్టు అనిపిస్తుంది.

కాన్సెప్ట్ కి సంబంధం లేని అవసరం లేని సన్నివేశాలు అయితే ఈ చిత్రంలో కనిపిస్తాయి. అలాగే సునీల్ లాంటి స్టార్ నటుణ్ని పెట్టుకొని చాలా సింపుల్ గా చూపించేస్తారు. తాను విరాజ్ అశ్విన్ ఎపిసోడ్స్ ని ఇంకా ఎఫెక్టీవ్ గా ప్రెజెంట్ చేసి ఉంటే బాగుండేది. అలాగే నటుడు పృథ్వీ పార్ట్ కూడా బాగా బోర్ అనిపిస్తుంది.

అక్కడక్కడా కామెడీ ఉన్నా అవి వర్కవుట్ అవ్వవు. అలాగే నటి పాయల్ రాజ్ పుత్ కి మరింత స్క్రీన్ స్పేస్ ఇచ్చి మరింత ఎమోషనల్ యాంగిల్ లో ఆమె పాత్రని ప్రెజెంట్ చేయాల్సింది. ఇక వీటితో పాటుగా మేకర్స్ ఈ చిత్రంలో లాజిక్స్ మిస్ అయ్యారు. వాటిని కరెక్ట్ చేసుకోవాల్సింది.

సాంకేతిక వర్గం :

ఈ చిత్రంలో నిర్మాణ విలువలు బాగున్నాయని చెప్పొచ్చు. సినిమా కాన్సెప్ట్ కి తగ్గట్టుగా మంచి బడ్జెట్ అయితే పెట్టారు మేకర్స్. ఇక టెక్నీకల్ టీం లో మ్యూజిక్, సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ వర్క్స్ బాగున్నాయి. అలాగే ఎడిటింగ్ మాత్రం బెటర్ గా చేయాల్సింది.

ఇక దర్శకుడు రమేష్ రాపర్తి విషయానికి వస్తే..తాను మంచి కాన్సెప్ట్ పట్టుకున్నాడు కానీ దానిని ఎంగేజింగ్ గా ప్రెజెంట్ చేయడంలో మాత్రం విఫలం అయ్యాడు అని చెప్పక తప్పదు. మంచి స్క్రీన్ ప్లే, కథనాలు రాసుకోవాల్సింది. వీటితో అయితే తన వర్క్ ఈ చిత్రానికి ఆకట్టుకోదు.

ఇక మొత్తంగా చూసినట్టు అయితే ఈ “మాయా పేటిక” చిత్రం పూర్తి స్థాయిలో ఆకట్టుకోదు. మంచి కాన్సెప్ట్ ఉన్నప్పటికీ ఆకట్టుకునే కథనం ఈ చిత్రంలో కనిపించదు. ఎక్కడో కొన్ని సీన్స్ మినహాయిస్తే మొత్తం సినిమా అంతా కూర్చొని ఆసక్తిగా చూసే రీతిలో ఈ చిత్రం అనిపించదు. దీనితో ఈ వారాంతానికి ఈ చిత్రం బోరింగ్ ట్రీట్ ని ఇస్తుంది.

Mayapetika is a Telugu-language comedy-drama which is directed by Ramesh Raparthi. The film has Viraj Ashwin, Simrat Kaur, Payal Rajput, Rajath Raghav, Sunil, Prudhvi Raj, Srinivas Reddy, Himaja, Shyamala, Jagadeesh Prathap & others in important roles. The music is composed by Guna Balasubramanian and the film is produced by Magunta Sarath Chandra Reddy & Tharaknath Bommi Reddy under Just Ordinary Entertainments banner.

The film follows the journey of a mobile through a varied collection of people from various socioeconomic groups and backgrounds as they acquire this particular smartphone at different stages in their lives. The rest of the film is about how they travel and how their respective lives get affected by this particular mobile.

What about on-screen performances?

Srinivas Reddy is the pick among all the actors. He delivers a refreshing performance in his transgender role with dual variations. He does the fun parts and the emotional scenes with full conviction and passes with flying colors.

Sunil & Shyamala are quite relatable and funny in their respective roles. They portray similar characters to that of the famous Tiktok couple Durga Rao and his wife Ratnam. Their track provides the required comedy angle to the film.

Payal Rajput looked glamourous on screen and her solo song in the film is very stylishly shot. Apart from this, there is nothing special about her act.

Viraj Ashwin, Simrat Kaur, Prudhvi Raj, Himaja, Jagadeesh Prathap, & Rajath Raghav are pretty decent with their performances in their respective stories.

What about off-screen talents?

The story by Ramesh Raparthi has nothing special to offer in terms of novelty. Apart from having a good concept of showcasing the importance of phones these days, there is no strong purpose for these particular short stories.

The screenplay is fine. The way the writers make the mobile transfer from one hand to another is done in a convincing manner but the emotions related to the particular story are not tapped to the fullest abilities.

The dialogues by Tirumala Nag are neat and a few emotional lines in the Srinivas Reddy track are well-written.

Director Ramesh Raparthi does a passable job with his presentation. The way he showcases all the stories is good but as said there isn’t a convincing reason to present all these 6 short stories. The stories needed more weight or there had to be some sort of a thrilling element to tell a concept like this. To be honest, the idea of telling human drama through a mobile point of view isn’t something that can make an audience come to the theatre to watch it on a big screen.

The camera work by Suresh Ragutu is one of the biggest assets of the film, especially the shots towards the climax portions are superly showcased.

The songs by Guna Balasubramanian are forgettable. Even the rap songs which sounded good, they couldn’t make an impact in the narrative. His background score is fine.

The edit by D.Venkata Prabhu & Naveen Vijay Krishna is crisp while the production values by Just Ordinary Entertainments are first-rate for a small-budget film like this.

Maya Petika Review: Moral Story With Mobile Phone

Small movies find it very hard to pull crowds to theaters unless they carry an element that is out of the box. The trailer of this film has given a hint that this is the biopic of a mobile phone, which sounds interesting as a plot point.

Let us see what is there in this.

Story: It all starts with Payal Rajput, a top heroine receiving a mobile phone as a gift from her producer. Payal's boyfriend starts suspecting her relationships, and in the process, Payal gives away the phone to her assistant.

The assistant gives that phone to a corporator (Prithvi) who, in turn, loses it in a car that ends up in the hands of a car mechanic (Viraj).

What happens from then, how many hands the phone will move, and whether these multiple stories are connected or not form the second half of the film.

Technical Excellence: The camera work and editing are okay. The music is average, and the first song is outdated with no pull factor in the music or lyrics. Only the song "Ayipoyane Deewana" is a bit soothing to the ears.

There is nothing notable to mention about other crafts as they are not so appealing. The dialogues are weak in some parts and sound okay in others.

Artists' Performances: Payal Rajput appeared as herself. She is pleasing to the eyes, but her fictional love track is unconvincing and looks cheaply made.

Rajath Raghav is okay as the suspicious lover of Payal. Viraj Ashwin is okay as a mechanic, and his love track is appealing.

Simrat Kaur is beautiful, and she has effectively portrayed her part through mere expressions.

Prithviraj's comedy track is of C-grade quality but appeals to the audience with that taste.

Sunil-Shyamala track is entertaining, resembling the TikTok Durgarao and his wife. Srinivas Reddy's track is a bit unpleasant to watch and ends up feeling contrived.

The final Pakistan track is okay.

Analysis: The film is promoted as a biopic of a mobile phone, and the initial voiceover of Rana Daggubati also says the same. However, there is nothing that the phone contributes here. It is an anthology of different short stories through which the mobile phone travels and ultimately ends up.

The title 'Maya Petika' (magic box), if perceived to be a story with a supernatural element, is not completely apt. It's all about how a mobile phone changes the lives of different people.

The writing in the initial part of the film is horrible to the core. The producer-Payal Rajput track is amateurish and looks like C-grade content. The dialogues are weak and uninspiring.

Some momentum comes with Prithvi Raj's character. Surprisingly, his character track resembles the popular scandal he was alleged with some time ago.

"Ninnu venaka nunchi vacchi pattukundaamanukunnaanu" is the popular controversial line in the voice of Prithviraj that went viral on social media and mainstream news channels. Now the same line is used by Prithvi in the film.

On the whole, this film is engaging in parts and boring in some areas due to amateurish writing.

This film ends up as a moral story – those who use the mobile phone for good will grow to the next level in their lives, and those who use it for bad things will end up in jail.

Bottom Line: No Maya- Only Petika

కథ: మాయాపేటిక మూవీ మొబైల్ గురించి ఉంది. వివిధ వర్గాల జనం మధ్య ఆ ఫోన్ ఎందుకు ఉంది. ఆ ఫోన్ ఉండటం వల్ల వారి జీవితాల్లో జరిగిన పరిణామాలు ఏంటీ..? ఆ మొబైల్ వల్ల వారు పడిన ఇబ్బందులు ఏంటీ అనేదే చిత్ర కథాంశం. ఇంతకీ ఆ మొబైల్ ఎందుకు అంత ప్రత్యేకం, అందులో ఏముందో తెలియాలంటే సినిమా చూడాల్సిందే.

ఎలా సాగిందంటే.. మూవీ మొత్తం మొబైల్ చుట్టూ తిరుగుతుంది. కాన్సెప్ట్ మంచిదే అయినప్పటికీ దానిని తెరపై చక్కగా చూపించలేదనే విమర్శలు వస్తున్నాయి. ఒకరి నుంచి మరొకరికి మొబైల్ మారడం ఓకే.. ఎమోషన్స్ మిస్ అయ్యాయని జనాలు అంటున్నారు. ఇలాంటి మూవీ తీసే సమయంలో థ్రిల్లింగ్ ఉంటే బాగుంటుందనే అభిప్రాయం వస్తోంది. మొబైల్ చుట్టూ జరిగే తంతును చూపించి.. థియేటర్లకు జనాన్ని వచ్చేలా చేయడం అసాధ్యం అంటున్నారు.

ఎవరెలా చేశారంటే..? మూవీలో శ్రీనివాస్ రెడ్డి నటన హైలెట్. ట్రాన్స్ జెండర్‌గాను నటించి మెప్పించారు. కామెడీ, ఎమోషనల్ సీన్స్ బాగున్నాయి. సునీల్, శ్యామల జంట కామెడీ కూడా మూవీకి ప్లస్ అయ్యింది. టిక్ టాక్ ఫేమ్ దుర్గారావు, అతని భార్య రత్నం పాత్రలను పోలి ఉంటారు. పాయల్ రాజ్‌పుత్ గ్లామరస్ రోల్ పోషించారు.

సాంకేతిక విభాగాల పనితీరు కథ బానే ఉన్నా.. తెరపై ఆ ఇంపాక్ట్ మిస్ అయ్యింది. డైరెక్టర్ రమేశ్ రాపర్తి 6 షార్ట్ స్టోరీస్ తీసుకున్నా ఫలితం లేదు.. మరిన్ని థ్రిల్లింగ్ ఎలిమెంట్స్ తీసుకోవాల్సి ఉండేదని అభిప్రాయం వ్యక్తం అవుతుంది. సురేశ్ రగుత్ కెమెరా పనితనం బాగుంది. క్లైమాక్స్ పార్ట్ అద్భుతంగా తీశారనే పేరు వచ్చింది. గుణ బాలసుబ్రహ్మణ్యం మ్యూజిక్ ఫర్లేదు. బ్యాక్ గ్రౌండ్ స్కోర్ అంతగా ఆకట్టుకోలేదు.

Maya Petika is the story of a cellphone and what changes it brings to the lives of all who possess it. A brand new smartphone changes hands from one person to another and how the lives of the popular actress Payal (Payal Rajput) and her fiancee Pranay (Rajath Raghav), Mayor Malliswari (Himaja), corporator Kameshwar Rao (30 yrs Pruthvi), car mechanic Ali (Viraj Ashwin), Aasra (Simrat Kaur), Watchman Narayana (Sunil), his wife (Syamala), thief Srinu (Srinivas Reddy) get affected from the rest of the story.

Maya Petika Movie: Artists Review

Payal Rajput is ok in her role. She oozed with glamor. Her presence might make people come to theatres expecting something from her. But she played a small role that is of no significance. Rajath Raghav who played the role of her fiancee did justice to his role. Himaja did a small role of a corporator and is shown in a powerful manner. 30 yrs Pruthvi's character played the role of a politician with a dark character.

Viraj Ashwin performed his role quite well and showed good expressions and emotions. Simrat Kaur looked beautiful on screen. She did not get any dialogue as she played the role of a dumb girl. But she emoted extremely well. Viraj Ashwin and Simrat Kaur's track is the highlight of the film. Sunil and Shyamala tried to entertain with their spoofs on various songs. Srinivas Reddy showed good emotions in his role.

Maya Petika Movie: Technicians Review

Maya Petika's story penned by Ramesh Raparthy is about the latest smartphone made in China and enters India and reaches the hands of various people. Director Ramaesh Raparthy starts the narration that it is the biopic of a cellphone. He starts the narration in an interesting manner. He showed how the emotions of people change when in possession of a phone and how people use it be it in a negative or positive manner.

The track between Payal and Rajath showed how guys turn possessive and cannot tolerate when their girlfriends speak to someone for hours or every day even if the call is important.  30 yrs Pruthvi is shown as a politician with dark shades. Then comes the track between Viraj Ashwin and Simrat Kaur. This beautified the film and took the film to new heights.  Viraj and Simrat elevated the scenes with their performances. A couple of dialogues are touching and emotions are highlighted. The first half ends in an emotional manner.

Ramesh Raparthy in the second half tried to entertain viewers this time with Sunil and Shyamala. Their scenes and the dancing videos generate the required fun. Srinivas Reddy is introduced as Hijra, and with a group of hijras he gives even more torture aided by a monkey, and the emotions are highlighted in a beautiful way. Finally Ramesh surprises with the Pakistan angle as if all. The biopic of the smartphone ends with a massive explosion on a sad note. Ramesh Raparthy came up with an interesting story and showed how a smartphone could be used either in a positive or negative way and how their lives change accordingly.

Guna Balasubramanian's background music is good. Songs are also colorful and shot lavishly and Shanna Shanna song has been tuned melodiously and shot in a beautiful way on Viraj Ashwin and Simrat Kaur. The cinematography of Suresh Ragutu is decent. He turned the film colorful using camera angles. D. Venkat Prabhu's editing is ok but could have been better as there are few repetitions. Dialogues like '"Ammai kanna andam Abbai Kanna update " describing the mobile and also between Simrat Kaur and Viraj Ashwin: Love Cheppedi Kaadu, Chupinchedi" is good. Some dialogues highlighted the emotions quite well. The production values of Just Ordinary Entertainment are decent.

Altogether, Maya Petika highlights a smartphone's emotional journey. Ramesh Raparthy tried to create fun and entertain viewers with Maya Petika narrating the biopic of a smartphone in a hilarious manner. He generated interest with the unique plot and included various angles, like romance, sentiment and emotions in a beautiful manner.  However at times, the director Ramesh missed few logics. Had he taken care of, Maya Petika would have wove a web of magic. Considering all these points, Cinejosh goes with a 2.5 Rating for Maya Petika .

Small movies find it very hard to pull crowds to theaters unless they carry an element that is out of the box. The trailer of this film has given a hint that this is the biopic of a mobile phone, which sounds interesting as a plot point.

Let us see what is there in this.

Story : It all starts with Payal Rajput, a top heroine receiving a mobile phone as a gift from her producer. Payal’s boyfriend starts suspecting her relationships, and in the process, Payal gives away the phone to her assistant.

The assistant gives that phone to a corporator (Prithvi) who, in turn, loses it in a car that ends up in the hands of a car mechanic (Viraj).

What happens from then, how many hands the phone will move, and whether these multiple stories are connected or not form the second half of the film.

Technical Excellence : The camera work and editing are okay. The music is average, and the first song is outdated with no pull factor in the music or lyrics. Only the song “Ayipoyane Deewana” is a bit soothing to the ears.

There is nothing notable to mention about other crafts as they are not so appealing. The dialogues are weak in some parts and sound okay in others.

Artists’ Performances : Payal Rajput appeared as herself. She is pleasing to the eyes, but her fictional love track is unconvincing and looks cheaply made.

Rajath Raghav is okay as the suspicious lover of Payal. Viraj Ashwin is okay as a mechanic, and his love track is appealing.

Simrat Kaur is beautiful, and she has effectively portrayed her part through mere expressions.

Prithviraj’s comedy track is of C-grade quality but appeals to the audience with that taste.

Sunil-Shyamala track is entertaining, resembling the TikTok Durgarao and his wife. Srinivas Reddy’s track is a bit unpleasant to watch and ends up feeling contrived.

The final Pakistan track is okay.

Analysis : The film is promoted as a biopic of a mobile phone, and the initial voiceover of Rana Daggubati also says the same. However, there is nothing that the phone contributes here. It is an anthology of different short stories through which the mobile phone travels and ultimately ends up.

The title ‘Maya Petika’ (magic box), if perceived to be a story with a supernatural element, is not completely apt. It’s all about how a mobile phone changes the lives of different people.

The writing in the initial part of the film is horrible to the core. The producer-Payal Rajput track is amateurish and looks like C-grade content. The dialogues are weak and uninspiring.

Some momentum comes with Prithvi Raj’s character. Surprisingly, his character track resembles the popular scandal he was alleged with some time ago.

“Ninnu venaka nunchi vacchi pattukundaamanukunnaanu” is the popular controversial line in the voice of Prithviraj that went viral on social media and mainstream news channels. Now the same line is used by Prithvi in the film.

On the whole, this film is engaging in parts and boring in some areas due to amateurish writing.

This film ends up as a moral story – those who use the mobile phone for good will grow to the next level in their lives, and those who use it for bad things will end up in jail.

Bottom Line : No Maya- Only Petika

Mayapetika OTT release: Details

Mayapetika is a Telugu-language drama film that features 6 short stories of different people told with the medium of a single mobile phone which is initially found lying in a trash basket. As the mobile gets passed from one family to another every day, it reveals their socio-economic conditions. Will the mobile phone cause an upturn in their lives? This gripping tale promises to keep viewers engaged and on the edge of their seats.

The film stars Viraj Ashwin, Simrat Kaur, Payal Rajput, Rajath Raghav, Sunil, Prudhvi Raj, Srinivas Reddy, Himaja, and Syamala in pivotal roles. It is directed by ‘Thank You Brother' fame Ramesh Raparthi and produced under the banner of Just Ordinary Entertainments by Magunta Sarath Chandra Reddy and Tharaknath Bommi Reddy.

Mayapetika made its theatrical debut on June 30 but received mixed reviews, and had a modest run at the box office. Now, it is set to arrive on OTT platforms soon.

Mayapetika OTT release: When and where to watch online

Mayapetika will premiere on Aha starting September 15. Announcing the film's impending arrival, the official account of Aha posted on X, “Don't Miss #MayapetikaOnAHA Premieres Sept 15”.

To watch the film online, viewers will require a subscription to the streaming service. Aha offers standalone Tamil and Telugu plans. Its highest plan, called ‘Aha Gold' costs Rs. 899 per year and allows streaming of both Tamil and Telugu films and shows in 4K.

Kismat Review In Telugu: అభినవ్ గోమఠం, నరేష్ అగస్త్య, విశ్వదేవ్ రాచకొండ ప్రధాన పాత్రల్లో నటించిన లేటెస్ట్ క్రైమ్ కామెడీ థ్రిల్లర్ సినిమా కిస్మత్. రియా సుమన్ హీరోయిన్‌గా అజయ్ ఘోష్, అవసరాల శ్రీనివాస్ కీలక పాత్రలు పోషించిన ఈ సినిమాకు శ్రీనాథ్ బాదినేని దర్శకత్వం వహించారు. ఫిబ్రవరి 2న థియేటర్లలో విడుదలైన ఈ సినిమా సరిగ్గా రెండు నెలలకు అంటే ఏప్రిల్ 2 నుంచి అమెజాన్ ప్రైమ్ ఓటీటీలో స్ట్రీమింగ్ అవుతోంది. మరి ఈ సినిమా ప్రేక్షకులను మెప్పించిందా లేదా అనేది కిస్మత్ రివ్యూలో చూద్దాం.

కార్తీక్ (నరేష్ అగస్త్య), అభి (అభినవ్ గోమఠం), (కిరణ్ విశ్వదేవ్) ముగ్గురు మంచి ఫ్రెండ్స్. మంచిర్యాలకు చెందిన ఈ ముగ్గురు బీటెక్ పూర్తి చేసి నిరోద్యుగులుగా ఉంటారు. ఊరిలో అల్లర చిల్లరగా తిరుగుతూ, తల్లిదండ్రులతో తిట్లు తింటుంటారు. ఓసారి గొడవ కారణంగా పోలీస్ స్టేషన్‌కు కూడా వెళ్లాల్సి వస్తుంది. అప్పుడు ఇంట్లో వాళ్ల మాటలతో ఉద్యోగం వెతుక్కుందామని హైదరాబాద్ వెళ్తారు. మరోవైపు హైదరాబాద్‌లో ఎలక్షన్ హడావిడి నడుస్తుంటుంది.

పది కోట్లతో ఎస్కేప్

అనేక విద్యాసంస్థలను నెలకొల్పి విద్యావేత్తగా పేరు తెచ్చుకున్న జనార్ధన్ (అజయ్ ఘోష్) ఎమ్మెల్యేగా గెలిచేందుకు ప్రయత్నిస్తుంటాడు. ఈ క్రమంలో అతన్ని ఇన్‌కమ్ టాక్స్ ఆఫీసర్ లోక్‌నాథ్ (సమీర్) టార్గెట్ చేసి దాడులు చేస్తుంటాడు. అతని నుంచి తప్పించుకునేందుకు తన వద్ద ఉన్న రూ. 20 కోట్ల డబ్బును తన అనుచరులు సూరి, రాజుకు ఇచ్చి దాచి పెట్టమని చెబుతాడు. కానీ, రాజు మాత్రం పది కోట్లతో ఎస్కేప్ అవుతాడు. రాజును పట్టుకునే క్రమంలో అతన్ని చంపేస్తాడు సూరి.

కిస్మత్ ఒక క్రైమ్ కామెడీ థ్రిల్లర్ మూవీ. డబ్బు చుట్టూ తిరుగుతూ ఉంటుంది. ఇలాంటి తరహాలో ఇప్పటికీ చాలా సినిమాలే వచ్చాయి. కథలో కొత్తదనం ఏముండదు. కానీ, ప్రారంభం నుంచి టేకింగ్ మాత్రం బాగుంటుంది. ముందు జనార్ధన్ పాత్ర తాలుకూ ఇంట్రడక్షన్, ఎమ్మెల్యే అవడానికి కారణం, బ్లాక్ మనీ, ఇన్‌కమ్ టాక్స్ దాడి సీన్లతో ఇంట్రెస్టింగ్‌గా థ్లిల్లింగ్‌గా ఉంటుంది. అనంతరం ముగ్గురు స్నేహితుల సరదాలు, చిల్లర గొడవలు, పంచ్ డైలాగ్స్‌ ఉన్న కామెడీ సీన్లతో ఎంగేజ్ చేశారు.

క్యాట్ అండ్ మౌస్ గేమ్

ఈ ముగ్గురు స్నేహితులకు డబ్బు దొరికే విధానం, తాన్యతో కార్తీక్ లవ్ ట్రాక్, బ్యాక్ గ్రౌండ్‌లో వచ్చే కిస్మత్ టైటిల్ సాంగ్‌ ఇతర సన్నివేశాలతో మెప్పించారు. సినిమాను ఊహించేలా రొటీన్ సీన్స్ ఉన్నప్పటికీ ఎక్కడా బోర్ కొట్టదు. చాలా వరకు కామెడీతో, డబ్బు కొట్టేసే సన్నివేశాలతో క్యాట్ అండ్ మౌస్ గేమ్‌తో చాలా బాగా ఆకట్టుకుంటుంది. క్లైమాక్స్ కూడా బాగుంటుంది. మధ్యలో వచ్చే ఒకటి రెండు పాటలు సైతం బాగానే ఉన్నాయి.

ఫైనల్‌గా చెప్పాలంటే..

Kismat Movie Review 2024: సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ, ఎడిటింగ్, నిర్మాణ విలువలు అన్ని చక్కగా కుదిరాయి. ఇక నటీనటుల పర్ఫామెన్స్ చాలా బాగుంది. సినిమా అంతటికి వారి నటనే హైలెట్. అభినవ్ గోమఠం నుంచి గంగవ్వ వరకు అంతా చాలా బాగా చేశారు. అభినవ్ గోమఠం తన కామెడీ టైమింగ్‌తో మరోసారి అలరించాడు. అలాగే నరేష్ అగస్త్య, విశ్వదేవ్, అజయ్ ఘోష్, టెంపర్ వంశీ బాగా చేశారు. అవసరాల శ్రీనివాస్ కామెడీ ట్రాక్ అలరిస్తుంది. ఫైనల్‌గా చెప్పాలంటే ఫ్యామిలీతో కలిసి వీకెండ్‌లో మంచి టైమ్ పాస్ చేసే సినిమా కిస్మత్.

బాలీవుడ్‌లో 2024 సంవత్సరానికి సంబంధించిన మోస్ట్ అవైటెడ్ సినిమాల్లో ఒకటి ‘బడే మియా చోటే మియా’. యాక్షన్ హీరోలు అక్షయ్ కుమార్, టైగర్ ష్రాఫ్ కథానాయకులుగా కనిపించిన ఈ సినిమాలో వీరికి ప్రతినాయకుడిగా ‘సలార్’లో రాజమన్నార్‌గా అలరించిన పృథ్వీరాజ్ సుకుమారన్‌ నటించారు. ఇంత క్రేజీ కాంబినేషన్‌తో తెరకెక్కినప్పటికీ ఈ సినిమాపై ఆశించిన స్థాయిలో బజ్ కనిపించడం లేదు. ఆశించిన స్థాయిలో బుకింగ్స్ లేకపోవడంతో రిలీజ్‌ను కూడా ఒక రోజు వాయిదా వేశారు మేకర్స్. కానీ ఈ కాంబినేషన్ క్రేజ్‌కి, యాక్షన్ జానర్‌కి కాస్త పాజిటివ్ టాక్ తోడయితే వసూళ్లు ఒక రేంజ్‌లో వస్తాయి. మరి సినిమా ఎలా ఉంది?

కథ:  భారత సైన్యానికి సంబంధించిన మోస్ట్ అడ్వాన్స్డ్ టెక్నాలజీని ఒక చోట నుంచి మరో చోటికి తరలిస్తుండగా ఒక ముసుగు మనిషి దాన్ని దొంగలిస్తాడు. ఆ తర్వాత 72 గంటల్లోనే భారత దేశాన్ని అంతం చేస్తానని ఆర్మీకి వీడియో మెసేజ్ పంపిస్తాడు. అతన్ని ఆపడానికి సైన్యం బయట వ్యక్తులు అవసరం అని కోర్టు మార్షల్ అయిన కెప్టెన్ ఫిరోజ్ అలియాస్ ఫ్రెడ్డీ (అక్షయ్ కుమార్), కెప్టెన్ రాకేష్ అలియాస్ రాకీలని (టైగర్ ష్రాఫ్) తిరిగి రప్పిస్తారు. ఇంతకీ ఆ ముసుగు మనిషి తీసుకెళ్లిన టెక్నాలజీ ఏంటి? ఫ్రెడ్డీ, రాకీ దాన్ని కాపాడారా? ఈ మొత్తం కథలో కబీర్ (పృథ్వీరాజ్ సుకుమారన్) ఎవరు? ఇలాంటివన్నీ తెలియాలంటే సినిమా చూడాల్సిందే.

విశ్లేషణ: ఈ మధ్య బాలీవుడ్‌లో దేశభక్తి ఆధారంగా రూపొందుతున్న యాక్షన్ సినిమాలు ఎక్కువ అయిపోతున్నాయి. ఈ సంవత్సరం ఇప్పటికే ‘ఫైటర్’, ‘యోధ’ సినిమాలు ఈ జోనర్‌లో విడుదల అయ్యాయి. వీటిలో ‘ఫైటర్’ పర్వాలేదనిపించగా, ‘యోధ’ బోల్తా కొట్టేసింది. ‘బడే మియా చోటే మియా’ కూడా ఈ తరహా సినిమానే. కానీ ఈసారి సైన్స్ ఫిక్షన్ టచ్ యాడ్ చేశారు. ఈ సినిమా చాలా నార్మల్‌గా స్టార్ట్ అవుతుంది. మొదటి 40 నిమిషాలు పూర్తిగా యాక్షన్ సీన్లే ఉంటాయి. అవి తెర మీద చూడటానికి చాలా బాగుంటాయి కానీ నిడివి మాత్రం చాలా ఎక్కువ. స్క్రీన్‌పై అలా సాగుతూనే ఉంటాయి. దీంతో వారి కష్టం తెరపైన కనిపిస్తున్నా మనం థ్రిల్ ఫీలవ్వలేం.

సినిమా ఫస్టాఫ్‌లో సగం పాత్రల పరిచయానికే సరిపోతుంది. ఎప్పుడైతే స్టోరీ లండన్‌కు షిఫ్ట్ అవుతుందో అక్కడ నుంచి కాస్త ఊపు అందుకుంటుంది. ఇంటర్వెల్ ట్విస్ట్ సెకండాఫ్ మీద ఆసక్తిని పెంచుతుంది. కానీ సెకండాఫ్ మొదలయ్యాక గ్రాఫ్ ఒక్కసారిగా కిందికి పడిపోతుంది. సమయం సందర్భం లేకుండా టైగర్ ష్రాఫ్ చేసే కామెడీ విసిగిస్తుంది. గట్టిగా చెప్పాలంటే ఒకట్రెండు చోట్ల మాత్రమే టైగర్ ష్రాఫ్ వేసే పంచులు నవ్విస్తాయి. సినిమాలో పాటలు కథకు అడ్డం పడతాయి. క్లైమ్యాక్స్ యాక్షన్ సీన్‌ను చాలా బాగా డిజైన్ చేశారు. కానీ నిడివి చాలా ఎక్కువ. కేవలం ఈ ఒక్క యాక్షన్ సీన్ నిడివే దాదాపు అరగంటకు పైగా ఉంటుంది. రెండు గంటల 45 నిమిషాల సినిమాలో రెండు గంటల వరకు యాక్షన్ సీన్లే ఉంటాయి. మిగతా 45 నిమిషాల్లో చాలా జాగ్రత్తగా కథని సర్దారు.

విలన్ పాత్రపై సానుభూతి కలిగేలా రాసుకోవడం పెద్ద మైనస్. యాక్షన్‌లో ఇతర జోనర్లకు అది వర్కవుట్ అవుతుందేమో కానీ ఇలాంటి పేట్రియాటిక్ సినిమాల్లో అలా ఉంటే కష్టం. ఈ సినిమాలో ఉన్న అన్ని పాత్రల్లో కాస్త క్యారెక్టర్ ఆర్క్, డెప్త్ ఉన్నది పృథ్వీరాజ్ పోషించిన కబీర్ పాత్రకే. హీరోలు ఇద్దరూ తమకు ప్రాణ స్నేహితుడు అని చెప్పుకునే పాత్రని చంపే సీన్ ఒకటి ఉంటుంది. ఎంత చెడ్డవాడైనా ప్రాణ స్నేహితుడ్ని చంపేటప్పుడు కాస్త బాధ కలగడం సహజమే. కానీ ‘కుక్కకి పిచ్చి ఎక్కువ అయింది’ అని ఆ పాత్రని చంపడమే చెప్పవచ్చు హీరోల క్యారెక్టర్స్‌ని ఎంత బలంగా రాసుకున్నారో.

జూలియస్ పాకియం నేపథ్య సంగీతం ఆకట్టుకుంటుంది. యాక్షన్ సీన్లను ఆ బ్యాక్‌గ్రౌండ్ స్కోర్ మరింత ఎలివేట్ చేసింది. మార్నిస్ లస్కావీక్ ఛాయాగ్రహణం ఓకే ఓకే. ఈ సినిమాకు 3డీ టెక్నాలజీ అనవసరం. ఎక్కడా 3డీ ఎఫెక్ట్‌లు సరిగ్గా లేవు.

ఇక నటీనటుల విషయానికి వస్తే... సినిమా మొత్తంలో నటనకు స్కోప్ ఉన్న క్యారెక్టర్ ఉన్నది కేవలం పృథ్వీరాజ్ సుకుమారన్‌కే. కబీర్ పాత్రలో పృథ్వీరాజ్ చాలా బాగా నటించారు. గతంలో ఇంతకంటే మంచి పాత్రల్లో పృథ్వీరాజ్ నటించినా... చుట్టుపక్కల ఉన్నవాళ్లకు ఏ మాత్రం పెర్ఫార్మ్ చేయకపోవడమో, వారి పాత్రలకు స్కోప్ లేకపోవడం వల్లనో కానీ బాగా ఎలివేట్ అయ్యారు. నో ఎమోషన్, ఓన్లీ యాక్షన్ పాత్రల్లో అక్షయ్ కుమార్, టైగర్ ష్రాఫ్ శక్తివంచన లేకుండా కృషి చేశారు. మానుషి చిల్లర్‌కు కూడా యాక్షన్‌ సన్నివేశాల్లో స్కోప్ ఉన్న పాత్ర లభించింది. మిగతా పాత్రలు పోషించిన వారు బాగానే నటించారు.

ఓవరాల్‌గా చెప్పాలంటే... కథతో సంబంధం లేదు జస్ట్ హైవోల్టేజ్ యాక్షన్ సన్నివేశాలు ఉంటే చాలు అనుకుంటే ఈ ‘బడే మియా చోటే మియా’ ట్రై చేయవచ్చు. 3డీ వెర్షన్ కంటే 2డీ వెర్షన్ చూడటమే బెటర్.
