We are looking for a reliable and friendly room attendant to join our hospitality team in order to provide superb customer service to our guests. Your duties will include ensuring that assigned rooms are fully stocked, cleaned, and serviced to a high standard. Room Assignments for May 2024 NLE

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) releases the list of room assignments for the May 2024 Nurse Licensure Exam (NLE) a few days before the exams.

The May 2024 Nursing board exams will be conducted on May 6-7, 2024, at PRC testing centers located in Metro Manila, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Calapan, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Palawan, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.

The Board of Nursing is headed by its Chairman, Hon. Elsie A. Tee, and its members, Hon. Carmelita C. Divinagracia, Hon. Elizabeth C. Lagrito (inhibited), Hon. Zenaida C. Gagno, Hon. Marylou B. Ong, Hon. Merle L. Salvani and Hon. Leah Primitiva S. Paquiz.

What to bring on the day of exams?

Here are the things to bring during the examination proper:

  • Notice of Admission
  • Official Receipt
  • Two (2) or more pencils (No. 2)
  • Ball pens (black ink only)
  • One (1) piece long brown envelope
  • One (1) piece long transparent/plastic envelope (for keeping your valuables and other allowed items)

What to wear on examination day?

Here are the specified dress codes from PRC:

  • For male examinees, clinical uniform with white shoes and white socks but without nameplate, school insignia/logo and pin; or school uniform.
  • For female examinees, clinical uniform with white shoes and white socks but without nameplate, school insignia/logo and pin; or school uniform.
  • For pregnant female, white clinical scrub suit.

What are not allowed during board exams?

  • Books, notes, review materials, and other printed materials containing coded information or formulas
  • Calculators which are programmable or with embedded functions especially CASIO FX99IES and CASIO FX99IES plus.
  • Apple, Samsung, and other smartwatches, cellular phones, ear plugs, transmitters, portable computers, Bluetooth, and other electronic devices that may be used for communication purposes
  • Bags of any kind

PRC added that they will not be responsible for any lost personal belongings.

Coverage of Exams

The May 2024 Nursing licensure exam covered topics from community health nursing, care of healthy or at-risk mother and child, and care of clients with physiologic and psychosocial alterations.

As per the Board of Nursing, the tests draw basic knowledge, skills, and attitudes in the major subject areas, specifically in fundamentals of nursing, including professional adjustments, maternal and child nursing, community health and communicable disease nursing, nursing of adolescents, adults and aged, and mental health and psychiatric nursing.

The examination also tests competencies in relation to the eleven (11) key areas of responsibility contained in the Competency Standards of Nursing Practice in the Philippines. The key areas are categorized as follows:

How to Block and Allocate Hotel Rooms to Guests

Many guests wonder how do hotels assign rooms to guests or how a hotel guest reservation officer or a hotel front desk agent allocates different types of rooms to his guests. Today, we will learn room allocation procedures of a hotel in order to ensure guests needs are met concerning room requests on different room types and at the same time maximum flexibility is maintained. By reading this tutorial, you will get clear overview of hotel room arrangement procedure.

  • Reservations will hand over the next day’s correspondences to the Front Desk . This correspondence will be further checked to ensure all details have been put into Computerized Reservation System or property management software like Opera .
  • It is good practice to print out next day’s arrival list in details like check in and check out date of each guests, room type and block status, gender of the guests, list of VIP guests and their status, special arrangements requested like surprise birthday cake and gift, special instruction from guests like wheelchair for disabled guests or smoking or non smoking room requested etc., guests’ arrival time, previous stay record, special feature or amenity requested etc.
  • All details are checked in the system before the room is allocated.
  • Room allocation should be done mostly based on status of room reservation. For example, a guaranteed or prepaid reservation will always get priority over non granted reservation or reservation for walk in guest .
  • Special requests have to be adhered to when blocking rooms for the guests, by looking into the Guest Profile and History. Such as Non Smoking Rooms should be blocked for guests requesting Non Smoking Rooms. Repeat guests should have the same room as previous stays or to their specific preference if any has been mentioned on earlier visits. Persons travelling together from the same company should have rooms as close to each other as possible unless requested otherwise.
  • Suite/Accessible and any special requests bookings should be blocked by Reservation prior to confirming.
  • Guaranteed Late Check-out rooms would be monitored closely, and Housekeeping should be informed in advance.
  • If any Special Request or Amenities (e.g. Flowers. Fruits, etc.) are to be placed in the room, this should be ordered a day in advance and the departments responsible for placing them in the room informed. An alert should also be set so that room moves are minimal and the respective departments informed to make the respective changes.
  • All Guests who have been guaranteed early Check-ins or who have Pre-Registered bookings should have appropriate rooms blocked for them and should be checked into the system from the day of their reservation (a day before their physical Check-In).
  • General aspects like blocking a King Room for a Honeymoon Couple, a Twin room for two men travelling together or a family (of 4), or room close to the Elevator for Senior Citizens, Single Lady Traveler etc., should be taken into account while blocking rooms. Have good understanding on different hotel room types .
  • Floors or sections would be blocked for Groups, Tours and Conventions, as much as possible.
  • Don’t forget about disabled guest . They don’t only need special care but special arrangement should be made prior to their arrivals like arranging special amenities, giving special care, supplying equipment like wheelchair or hearing aid if needed and available.
  • Special requests like allocating a room near elevator or wish to stay in upstairs or desire to have hill view or sea view room, should always give priority when available.
  • Must be very careful while handling VIP reservation. If there is any system in your software to block heavily so that other reservation or front desk agent cannot allocate the same room to anyone, then apply it. Also make sure you have provided enough time to other departments like housekeeping to place VIP amenities or security department to check security issues carefully.
  • Upgrade and downgrade of room have to be done according to the room availability and policy. Sometimes hotel has to offer room upgrade because of their own fault like wrong check in or check out date record, fault of a room etc.

3-6. Part III, Duty Description

This information is written by the rater and verified with the rated NCO. Refer to DA PAM 623-3, Evaluation Reporting System, table 3-3 for duty description evaluation instructions. The duty description:

Is an outline of the normal requirements of the specific duty position. Should show type of work required rather than frequently changing tasks. Is essential to performance counseling and evaluation. It is used during the first counseling session to tell the rated NCO what the duties are and what needs to be emphasized. May be updated during the rating period. Is used at the end of the rating period to record what was important about the duties.

NCOER Part : IIIc: Daily Duties and Scope

These must include a series of phrases, starting with verbs/action words and separated by semicolons and ending in a period. This block should address the most important routine duties and responsibilities. Ideally, this should include the number of people supervised, equipment, facilities, and dollars involved and any other routine duties and responsibilities.

NCOER Part : IIIf: Counseling Dates

Enter the actual dates of the counseling obtained from the DA Form 2166-8-1 (YYYYMMDD). When counseling dates are omitted, the senior rater will enter a statement in part Ve, explaining why counseling was not accomplished. The absence of counseling will not be used as the sole basis for an appeal. However, the lack of counseling may be used to help support other claims made in an appeal.

Enhanced Room Assignment

When the RESERVATIONS > ENHANCED ROOM ASSIGNMENT application function is set to Y , the Enhanced Room Assignment functionality will be available to perform an automated assignment of rooms during pre-arrival planning or at the time of arrival. The rooms assigned will be based on Rate Codes, Room Features, Specials, and Membership Level, therefore ensuring the best room is assigned to the most valuable guest. Once rooms have been assigned, users will have the ability to accept or unassign the suggested rooms and print the assignments.

Room Assignment Workflow

The Room Assignment Workflow screen easily allows configuring ratings/points and associating them to the different areas. Access to this screen is controlled by the following user permissions under the Group PROPERTY CONFIG:

  • ENHANCED ROOM ASSIGNMENT VIEW - Allows users to view the screen.
  • ENHANCED ROOM ASSIGNMENT NEW/EDIT - Allows users to modify all tabs of the screen, except for Membership Levels.
  • ENHANCED ROOM ASSIGNMENT MEMBERSHIP LEVELS - Allows users to modify the Membership Levels tab.

Select Setup > Configuration > Reservations > Room Assignment Workflow . The Room Assignment Workflow screen displays:

Rate Codes Tab

Search criteria.

Enter your search criteria by selecting the field's down arrow to choose from a list, or type directly in the field.

Rate Code. Select the Rate Code.

Rate Category. Select the Rate Category.

Rating. Select the Rating.

Search Grid Results

X. Select the Rate Code by placing an X in the field. Multiple Rate Codes can be selected to update to the same Rating. When the Rating is selected, a message will prompt to update all selected Rate Codes. When answering Yes , all of the marked Rate Codes are updated.

Rate Code. Displays the configured Rate Code.

Description. Displays the description of the Rate Code.

Category. Displays the Rate Category that the Rate Code is associated to.

Rating. Select the desired rating value: 5 Most Important, 4 Important, 3 Somewhat Important, 2 Less Important, or 1 Least Important.

Button Functions

Copy. This button is available for those codes that can be copied to additional properties in a multi-property environment (when the OPP_MHOT license code is active). This button will be enabled when at least one code has been selected. When the Copy button is selected, the Properties screen will display a list of alternate properties. Users can select one or more properties from the list. When selecting the OK button, the rows selected in the Room Assignment Workflow screen's grid prior to the Property screen will be copied to the selected properties.

All. Selects all the Rate Codes.

None. Deselects all the Rate Codes.

Room Class. Available when the GENERAL > ROOM CLASS application function is set to Y . Select the Room Class.

Room Type. Select the Room Type.

The grid will display all previously configured rooms at the property.

Room Class. Displays the Room Class associated to the Room.

Description. Displays the description of the Membership Level.

Rating. Enter the desired rating, up to 4 numeric values.

Copy. This button is disabled because Membership Levels are global.

Automatic Room Assignment

The Automatic Room Assignment screen allows users to quickly assign rooms to reservations arriving within the specified dates, and using the selected filters. Users must have the FRONT DESK > ROOM ASSIGNMENT permission in order to access the screen.

Select Front Desk > Room Assignment > Auto button . The Automatic Room Assignment screen displays:

Assign. As each reservation is processed, its name and the assigned room number appear in the Guest and Room fields, respectively. A Status Listing information box displays. OPERA displays room assignments in the information box after all the assignments are processed.

Unassign. Select to unassign the rooms that were assigned to reservations based on the filter criteria. If accessed from a business block, select to remove the assigned room from all reservations for the block. A message box appears after all the unassigns are processed, and the Status Listing shows that all rooms have been unassigned.

Template. Select the down arrow for a single select list of configured templates. The order of the templates is based on the sequence defined when creating the template. To edit a template, select one from the list. The screen will update with the saved defaults. Make any changes that are needed and then select the Save Template button. The Template - New screen displays the information that was previously saved so any changes that are necessary can be made. To just make a small change on an existing template and save it as a new one, select the template from the list. The screen will update with the saved defaults. Make any changes that are needed and then remove the Template Name from the Template field. Select the Save Template button to open the Template – New screen to assign the Code, Description, Sequence, and Default for the new template.

Indicate the guests for which you want to assign rooms.

Arrival From/To. Define the range of arrival dates to search. If the business date is entered before saving the template, when using the template on a future date, it will default to the current business date.

Minimum LOS. Enter the minimum length of stay.

ETA From/To. Enter a time range to search for reservations that have a specific estimated arrival time noted on the reservation. This time displays in the property's time format.

Name. Enter the guest's last Name.

Member Level. Select one or more Member Levels from the list.

Room Type. Select one or more Room Types from the list.

Room Class. Select one or more Room Classes from the list. The Room Class filter is only displayed when the GENERAL > ROOM CLASS application function is active.

Rate Code. Select one or more Rate Codes from the list.

Requested Features. Select the list of Room Feature Code values. Check one or more room features (e.g., tile floor, no smoking, balcony, etc.) from the list.

Select the room features and statuses of the rooms you want to include in the assignment.

Features. Specify the room features for the rooms to be chosen for assignment. Only rooms with these features will be assigned to reservations. (Not available if the Use Associated Preferences check box is selected.)

Smoking. Select either Smoking or Non-smoking rooms. Only rooms with the selected preference will be assigned to reservations. (Not available if the Use Associated Preferences check box is selected.)

Floor. Limit the room assignment to a specified floor; for example, use this option if a group's rooms are all to be on the first floor. Only rooms with the selected preference will be assigned to reservations. (Not available if the Use Associated Preferences check box is selected.)

Start from Room. Begin assigning rooms from a specific room number. Select the starting room number from the Available Rooms Search screen.

Dirty Rooms. Select this check box to include Dirty Rooms.

Pickup Rooms. Select this check box to include Pickup Rooms.

Clean Rooms. Select this check box to include rooms with a current status of Clean.

Inspected Rooms. Select this check box to include rooms with a current status of Inspected. The Inspected Rooms check box is only displayed when the ROOMS MANAGEMENT > INSPECTED STATUS application function is active.

Include Due Out Rooms. Select this check box to include rooms of guests scheduled to depart, but who have not yet checked out.

Include Out of Service Rooms. Select this check box to include rooms that are identified as Out of Service. The Out of Service check box is only displayed when the ROOMS MANAGEMENT > OUT OF SERVICE application function is active.

Use Associated Preferences. Select this check box to include rooms based on the preferences of each reservation and/or profile (along with other criteria such as room status). For example, if the guest has a floor and smoking preference and no room is found meeting that criteria, no room would be assigned. If this check box is unchecked and features are then selected in the Rooms section, OPERA will assign rooms that have those exact features. If no rooms match the selected features, OPERA does not start dropping the features until a match is found.

Delete Template. To delete a template, select one from the Template list and then select this button. This message displays: “ Are you sure you want to delete this Template? ”

Save Temp. After the desired filter conditions have been defined, this button becomes available to create a new Template. The Template - New screen displays to enter a Code, Description, and Sequence:

Multiple common filter templates can be saved that can be accessed by other users within the same property. For example, a common filter criteria may include the Assign radio button selected, Member Level = GOLD, and the Inspected Rooms check box selected.

Selecting the Default check box makes the Template that is in use the one that will open each time the Au tomatic Room Assignment s creen is opened. After this information has been entered, and the OK button selected, the Template will be saved for future use and will be available to all users within the same property.

Print. Select to print the Auto Room Assignment report. This button will be disabled until after the Start button has been selected and room assignments have occurred. A report will be created with general reservation information.

Start. After the desired values have been defined and this button has been selected, OPERA will use the prioritization (Rating/Points) to perform the calculation of which Room Number should be assigned based upon the summation of ratings for each reservation. The system will match the “most important” guest first to the best available room and work its way through the list.

Notes: If reservations are calculated with the same priority, OPERA will look at when the reservations were created, and the reservation that was booked earlier obtains the higher priority. For reservations where a room is not available based on the requested attributes, OPERA will exercise the hierarchy and eliminate attributes until it finds a match or flag it as a failed match. If a reservation has multiple Rate Codes, OPERA will use the weighted average of the Rate Codes in the calculation of the total pre-arrival planning (the value for each rate multiplied by the number of days that the rate is attached, divided by the total days of the entire stay). When the RESERVATIONS > ENHANCED ROOM ASSIGNMENT application function is active, the room features ranking attached to each room (in the order by condition) will be included when performing the calculation for assigning rooms, even if the reservation does not have features attached.

Reservations are displayed with potential rooms. If rooms were not blocked due to the reservations not meeting the prioritization criteria, then these reservations will display ‘No rooms are available that match the criteria’. A count of assigned and unassigned rooms displays at the end of the list of reservations.

Auto Room Assignment Report (auto_room_assign)

The Auto Room Assignment report displays the following information:

  • Guest Name – The Last Name, First Name of the guest on the reservation.
  • Room – The Room Number (if any) assigned to the reservation.
  • Room Type – The Room Type of the assigned Room Number.
  • Arrival Date – The Arrival Date of the reservation.
  • Departure Date – The Departure Date of the reservation.
  • Room Features – The guest's Room Features on the reservation.
  • Specials – The Specials on the reservation.
  • Remarks – If the room could not be assigned, and the reason.

Select Reservations > Update Reservations . The Reservation screen displays suggestions of other available rooms meeting the guest's preferences (in blue text in the lower left corner) when a room number is assigned:

The room numbers displayed in blue follow the hierarchy, meaning the best suited room will be displayed first.

Payment Method Screen

Select Front Desk > Arrivals > Check In button . The Payment Method screen displays suggestions of other available rooms meeting the guest's preferences (in blue text):

Available Rooms Search Screen

Select Miscellaneous > Show Quick Keys > Room Search or press the F3 Quick Key to display the Available Rooms Search screen:

When the RESERVATIONS > ENHANCED ROOM ASSIGNMENT application function is active and the Available Rooms Search screen is accessed from a Reservation, the available rooms are ordered by the best suited room for the reservation/search criteria. When a room is not found based on all of the requested attributes, OPERA will exercise the hierarchy and eliminate attributes until it finds a match.

How to Describe a Room in English

You might have to describe a room in English.

The most likely situation for doing this would be in the speaking part of the IELTS test. But it could also be in any other speaking or writing test too.

But it is also just a great exercise for you to improve your general English. Being able to describe anything in English shows you have a good command of the English language.

But where to begin?

How to do it? Where to start?

I am here to show you how.

So let’s get started.

When describing anything — could be an object, a person, a building or a city — you should always start with the basic components.

In the case of describing a room that means you should think of the following questions:

What kind of room is it?

What size is it?

What shape is it?

Let’s go through the questions one by one.

What Kind of Room

In a normal house we have:

Living room

There could also be:

Dining room

Garden shed

For the sake of simplicity, we will use living room as our example.

The mistake that many students make when talking about the size of something is that they often try to be very precise. They might say something like: It is 6 metres long and 3 and a half metres wide, so that is 21 square metres in size.

You don’t need to talk like this. Not unless your job requires that you are exact. But most people have no idea how big the rooms are in their home.

So you can use words to describe the size. Like this:

My living room is pretty big

The living room is huge

My living room is about normal size

It is tiny!

It’s a bit small

It’s kind of big/small

Now does this say anything about the size of the room? Not really.

These terms are relative to the person speaking. So if you say My living room is really small . I might think it is small but if I saw it, I might think it’s average size.

It doesn’t matter.

If you use size words — big, huge, tiny, small — the examiner listening to you has a mental picture of how big the room is. It is enough for him to have an idea of what you are talking about.

Rooms generally come in two shapes:

Rectangle/oblong

So you can say:

The living room is a rectangle shape      

It is shaped like a square

Put It All Together

So if you combine all three of these elements — what kind of room, what size and what shape — you could have something like this:

The room I want to talk about is the living room. It’s pretty big, maybe the biggest room in the whole house. It’s shaped like a rectangle.

I would like to talk about the living room in my home. It’s like a normal-sized room I suppose and it’s rectangular in shape.

Our living room is kind of small. It’s a rectangle shape just like most rooms in people’s houses.

So that is the basics — what kind of room it is, the size and the shape.

When you say something like this, you are providing a good introduction to the room you are going to talk about.

Then you can go into more detail.

The Details

When we talk about the details of a room, it means we talk about the following:

The Colour Scheme

The furniture.

The Window and the View

Most living room decorations are designed to make the family feel comfortable and at ease in their own home.

You could describe the decor as being:

Clean-looking

Comfortable

Old-fashioned

Traditional

Western-style

Asian-style

And that could be enough.

The examiner is not expecting you to describe all the features of the decor in the living room. There may be certain elements or features in your living room that stand out.

So you may have a large painting on the wall — if so, then you can describe the painting and say who bought the painting.

For example:

We have a painting of two dogs on the wall of our living room. The dogs walking in a field somewhere and it looks like an old painting but it is not.

My mum bought it in a local shop because she liked the look of it and wanted to have a painting on the wall to make it look less boring.

Or maybe you have a piano in the room:

My mum and dad bought a piano years ago because they wanted me to learn when I was a child. But I was never any good at playing the piano so it just sits there.

It’s more for decoration now.

Are you talking about the painting, the piano or the living room?

You are talking about the living room. The painting and the piano are part of the living room and the little stories you tell about these things are all part of your talk.

In this part, you just talk about the main colour of the room.

Most living rooms are white so just say that.

The living room is white.

There may be other colour elements in the living room but you need to say the main, most important colour first.

Don’t say something like My living room is white, red, green, purple and black.

Your living room may have other colour elements but you need to describe those elements. Don’t just reel off a list of colours!

So you could say:

The living room is white but the window frames are dark red.

Our living room is white but one wall is painted light green.

This is where you can go into more detail.

Let’s look at the main furniture items in people’s living rooms.

Coffee table/tea table

TV stand/TV

Bookshelf/Bookcase

Painting/Mirror

These cover the main kinds of furniture that people have.

And this is how you can talk about these things:

We have a big sofa in the living room. It’s dark blue and made of some kind of soft fabric — I’m not sure what it is. But it is very comfortable. Sometimes I like to lie on the sofa and listen to music or read a book.

The sofa in my living room is made of leather and it’s white. My mother always worries about it being clean enough. We sit on it when we want to watch the TV.

And again, if you talk about the things you like to do on the sofa — watching TV, reading a book — this is still part of your talk about the living room.

You can say similar things about an armchair:

My dad likes to sit in the armchair. He watches the news on TV then falls asleep.

Sometimes our cat jumps on to the armchair. My mum gets very angry about this.

Then you can talk about things like the coffee table and floor lamp.

We have a coffee table in the living room. It’s between the sofa and the TV. We out drinks on it and snacks we are eating. We also keep the TV remote on it. It’s a wooden table but has a glass top so it is easy to keep clean.

The floor lamp is next to the sofa. The light is softer than the ceiling light so it is more comfortable in the evening.

Then curtains:

The curtains are light grey. We keep them open during the day and close them at night. We close them and we have more privacy in the evening.

TV Stand/TV:

We have a big flat-screen TV in the living room. It is on top of a large TV stand. We can put other things on the stand too.

My mum has a little figure of a horse on the stand.

Rug/Carpet:

There is a rug on the floor. It’s dark red and made of wool. It’s very comfortable under your feet in the evening.

My dad always complains if we put our shoes on it because it makes it dirty.

Bookshelf/Bookcase:

There is a bookshelf in the corner of the living room. It is full of books but mostly my mum and dad’s books. I keep my books in my own room.

But it makes the living room look nice. It’s nice to see shelves filled full of books. It makes the room seem warmer.

On the wall, we have a large mirror. My mum bought it in an antique shop. I think it was quite expensive.

It makes the room seem bigger because of the reflection.

My mum always uses it to check her hair before she goes outside.

These are just some simple ideas of things you can say about furniture in the living room.

You can say what each item is made of and the colour but you can also add little stories too. The examiner will always like to hear stories in the IELTS test.

Window and View

Lastly, you can talk about the window and the view outside.

You just say where the window is and the size of it. Then you say what you can see outside.

We have a large window at the end of the living room. When I look outside, I can see the houses opposite our own house. I can also see the road outside.

We have only one small window and I can barely see anything outside. Just a wall. But the window lets in some light.

And that covers the details of the living room.

Now you can talk about how you feel about the room.

Why do you like this room?

This is where many students miss some valuable thing to say in the IELTS test. Usually, they just say if they like something or not.

This is not enough . You need to say WHY you like something.

So with our example of the living room in your house, just think of all the reasons why you like your living room.

I have put some examples below:

I like the living room because it is usually quiet and I can just lie on the sofa and relax, read a book or listen to music.

I like our living room because it is so airy and light. It feels very bright in the room.

I like the view from the living room. We look out over a nice park.

I like the two paintings in our living room. They are portraits of people from long ago. I look at them and get lost in another world.

Saying what you like about something is very simple. Just say what you like and why you like it!

What do you dislike about this room?

Equally, you can say what you don’t like about the living room.

I have listed some ideas below:

I don’t like the living room because it is always noisy and filled full of people. It drives me mad as there is nowhere to sit and be quiet.

I don’t like the living room because my dad is always watching TV there. And he is always watching the news — it’s so boring!

I don’t like the living room because it is so hot in there. The sun shines right through the window and makes it too stuffy.

Just as when you talk about the reasons why you like the living room, it is just as important to talk about why you dislike it.

What do you do in this room?

And finally, you need to say the activities you like to do in the living room.

Let’s go through a list of things that many people do in the living room.

Talk to my family

Read a book

Watch a movie

Talk to my friends on the phone/online

Do my homework

Study something

When describing a room, you can definitely say the kind of things you like to do in the room. This is all part of the description of the room.

And by talking about things you do in the living room, this may lead to a little story and that is always helpful.

Let me give you an example from my own life:

I like to watch movies in the living room with my wife. But she only likes certain kinds of movies. If I select a movie, she usually thinks it is boring and asks me to change it.

But if we watch a movie we both like it is very relaxing. We eat snacks and drink hot tea while watching the movie.

Am I talking about watching movies or describing the living room?

And the examiner would like what I said and it would be great in the IELTS test.

That is about it.

Remember the format when describing the room.

The Details — the decor, the colour scheme, the furniture, the window and the view

Why do you dislike this room?

What do you like to do in this room?

Go through all of these things and you can’t go wrong.

Now why not try by yourself or with your friends?

You can choose the room you are in. Or go online and look at pictures of rooms you can find on the internet.

Just keep practising and you will see great results.
