This time, in the winters, our small family planned for a holiday in the hills of Darjeeling. We started our journey on the 1st of December, 2019. On the way, we played a variety of games. The view over the hills was quite pleasant to watch. When we were on the top of the summits, we looked down at our town, which seemed like a toy town; how small that was from the top! 

We clicked pretty snaps of the places, clicked pictures of us, of the local residents there, after which we went to a famous restaurant to eat our afternoon meal. We had the most delightful dumplings and noodles, which were cooked and served to us when still on steam. 

As dusk dawned on us, the jungles over the hills seemed to tell us another story of spirits and supernaturals. My sister and I were quite fantasized about this view. We preferred to keep our eyes shut till we reached our destination. It was half-past 8 when we reached the hotel where we would spend the night. The hotel staff was kind people who welcomed us with great warmth. We freshened up and went downstairs to watch their cultural program. The tribes danced to the music of one of their traditional songs, which was quite amazing for us to watch. After this, dinner was served. The dinner was quite rich and they served us in a sophisticated manner. After the tiring day, we decided to call it off and went to sleep.

The next day, we went hiking in the mountains. When we reached the peak of the mountains, it was a very delightful view. We decided to camp for the rest of the day there in the hills. The scenario and being on the lap of nature were quite peaceful and serene.   

After the trip, we came down to our town and normalized our lives. 

This trip had ushered a sense of great peace and calmness in my mind, which was to be instilled. The memories of the trip were to remain fresh in my mind like the fresh droplets on the leaves.

My last holiday was a five-day trip to Prague in the Czech Republic. I know Prague well because I lived there when I was at university, more than ten years ago.

Instead of staying in a hotel, I stayed with one of my old friends. My last was holiday three-week trip to Fez in Morocco. Fez it’s my hometown so I know it well because I lived there for 26 years. I went to visit my family there and I stayed at home, every day I was invited by my sisters and brothers, they made me delicious dishes and we had a good time together. I’ve been seeing my friends every day in the café, we’ve been seeing football matches and we’ve been talking about different topics. In this holiday I made many things important for me, I had driving courses to be confident when I’m going to buy a car, in the same time I had English courses.  

My last holiday was a three-day trip to Thua Thien Hue in Vietnam. I always want to go there, so in the summer of last year, I decided to take a trip to Hue with my family.

We booked a small hostel near Hue Walking Road. We stayed in a twin room, which was clean and had full amenities. The owner was very friendly; he showed us good restaurants, attractions, and how to deal with sellers in the market. We tried local foods such as Bun Bo Hue, Banh Xeo, Banh Bot Loc, etc. The food in Hue is cheap and amazing; I thought that I could eat it all day!

We did some touristy things too. We visited Hue Capital and had a chance to learn more about Vietnam's history. The architecture is very majestic and beautiful. We also went to Thien Mu Pagoda. It is one of the most sacred temples in Vietnam, so we prayed for health and happiness and wished everyone good luck. In the evening, we walked across the historic Trang Tien Bridge. It was so beautiful at night; there were a lot of people walking there. 

It was three amazing days. I felt so relaxed and hope to visit more places in Vietnam.

My last holiday was a two-day trip to Baguio in the Philippines. I had lived there before for five months. So I decided to go back for just a visit on my holiday. Unfortunately, there was heavily raining as we got off the bus. Otherwise, getting a taxi was super hard, and we were waiting for around an hour. Fortunately, I got home safely and I made so much fun with my friends. I visited the old places that I often did because it made me happy and refresh. In 2014, the town of Ngwesaung had 10,732 people.The beach is 5hours drive with no traffic away from the principal city of Yangon. Ngwe Saung is well know for An unspoilt 15 kilometres stretch of silvery sand and modern amenities have made Ngwe Saung a popular destination for less budget conscious tourists from Lower Myanmar. I booked for our stay at a hotel near the beach, name was "Grand Paradise Hotel ". My friend and i prepared everything we needed on our trip as light food and soft drinks to have on the way to the hotel. And also we prepared necessary clothing for the sea, sun cream and some essential medicines. After 5hours of driving we arrived the hotel at 12PM afternoon and went to our rooms to rest change clothes and take all what we need to go to the beach. This Hotel is near the beach,all services was good and room are cleaned, wide and nice. We put our bags on the table and went to swim in the sea and then went out for lunch that my friend ordered from a fish restaurant . The Crab ,Lobster and fish was fresh and tasty and we enjoyed our meal very much. After lunch we sat under the canopy enjoying the sea view, refreshing breaths ,listening to music and playing fun games. OH really nice Ngwe Saung beach Myanamr.

My last holiday was far away in time in different reasons. We were at black sea coast on September so there where not so much other people. We was drinking a wine that was cheap there and going some excursions

My last holiday. Last summer, in particular on the last weekend of June, I decided to visit Granada, an amazing city in Spain. I visited Granada for the second time with my family, my wife, and two daughters. I was so happy because I visited Granada sights, especially Alhambra Palace, and Civilization Museum. We arrived at the hotel by bus at 11 a.m. The hotel was wonderful and clean, and the food they offer was delicious. Despite the enjoyment that we have got, the negative thing about that holiday was that we spent so much money and also many friends need to buy some things from there, so I bought some souvenirs and I hope that I can keep one for myself to remind of that divine place. By and large, this holiday was great and unforgettable thanks to my Spanish friend, Gaspar, who provided me with a Guidebook which makes my trip easy and coy.

My last holiday was four days on São Miguel dos Milagres with my family. We stay on the beach house of my grandpa. There is a pool, and four rooms in that. There we go to the beach, to some interesting restaurants, to a beach clube and to an ice cream shop. I love that travel and i'd love go back to São Miguel dos Milagres.

On the first weekend in March, we took an amazing trip to Barcelona. We went by train from Atocha station and the journey lasted two and a half hours.

When we arrived at the historic Barcelona Sants station, we took the metro to Plaza de Tetuan, which is where we had the apartment. We left our baggage and went to visit the city centre, Las Ramblas, Plaza Catalunya, La Boqueria Market, Paseo de Gracia, etc. On Sunday, we saw the beautiful Sagrada Familia which is my favourite landmark. Later, we went to the incredible Nou Camp stadium to see the Barça game against Valencia. After the game we visited the official store and did some shopping but everything was very expensive. On Monday, before returning to Madrid we went back to the Nou Camp to take a guided tour of the trophy room, changing rooms, benches, and the VIP box.

At the end, we went to the apartment to take the suitcases and so, we took the metro to the Sants station where we boarded the high speed train back to Madrid.

I go to Thailand for a camping holiday, It was fun I go caving on the first day, I see many bets are sleeping on top of the cave.(no time to finish)

My Best Ever Holiday Essay:

Everyone has a favorite holiday memory that they hold close to their heart. For me, it was the summer of 2018 when I went on a trip with my family to Thailand. It was an experience that I will never forget and one that will always bring a smile to my face.

Planning and Preparations

The planning for this holiday started almost a year in advance. We wanted to make sure we had enough time to save up and plan the perfect itinerary. We spent countless hours researching different destinations, activities, and accommodations before finally settling on Thailand.

Once all the bookings were done, it was time to start preparing for the trip. From getting our passports renewed to getting necessary vaccinations, there was a lot to do. But the excitement of the upcoming holiday kept us motivated.

Arrival and First Impressions

As soon as we landed in Bangkok, I was struck by the vibrant energy of the city. The bustling streets, aromatic food stalls, and colorful temples immediately drew me in. We spent a few days exploring Bangkok before heading to Phuket, our main destination.

Island Adventures

Phuket was everything we hoped for and more. From lazing on beautiful beaches to snorkeling among colorful marine life, every day was filled with adventure. We even took a boat tour to nearby islands and got to see some breathtaking views.

One of the highlights of our trip was visiting an elephant sanctuary where we got to interact with these gentle giants. It was a truly unforgettable experience and one that I will cherish forever.

Cultural Immersion

Apart from the beaches and activities, we also made sure to learn about Thai culture. We visited temples, attended cultural shows, and sampled local cuisine. The people were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel at home in a foreign land.

Making Memories with Family

But what made this trip truly special was being able to experience it with my family. From trying new foods together to laughing until our stomachs hurt, these moments brought us closer than ever before. We created memories that will last a lifetime.

Vocabulary about holidays.

When people go on holiday , they usually travel by plane, by car, by train or by bus . The time they spend travelling from one place to another is called the journey . And when they arrive at their destination, they usually stay in a hotel, in a guesthouse (=a private house that rents rooms), or rent an apartment.

People go on holiday because they want to have a good time (or a great time ). They try to do activities that they enjoy doing . For example, people who enjoy the nightlife go out in the evenings, and people who love food book (=reserve) tables in restaurants and try the local cuisine . People spend time doing the activities that they love; for example, people who love the sun spend time sunbathing on the beach.

When we do an activity, we can use the verb go + – ing verb ; for example, go sightseeing, go sunbathing, go swimming, go diving, go shopping, go fishing, etc. You can also use the expression do (some / a lot of / a little) sightseeing . Sightseeing is the activity of visiting the most interesting places. If you do sightseeing in a big city, you usually visit museums , and historical buildings and monuments . You also take pictures and buy souvenirs .

We can use the expression go + on a(n) before nouns related to trips; for example, we can go on a trip, go on a tour, go on an excursion, go on a safari, etc.  

Plan your writing

Before writing your essay, you should think about the information you want to include and also how to organise it. In an essay about your last holiday you should talk about:

• where, when and how you travelled
• who you went with
• where and how long you stayed
• what you visited/saw

Now, don’t over indulge in your work. Just squeeze in an hour or two each day for the same so that you stay in touch.

• Follow Your Hobby/ Interest

It is a good idea to join a hobby class. Indulge in anything of your choice such as dancing, swimming, yoga, painting, sketching or music. Take-up a short course for a week or 10 days depending on the number of holidays you have.

• Meet Friends and Relatives

Socializing is very important. We don’t get enough time to visit our friends and relatives due to our hectic routine. But we can certainly do so during our holidays. So take out time to meet them.

• Go on a Trip

Go for a trip with your family or friends to take a break from your routine life. Trips are refreshing. I always make it a point to go for one trip each during my summer and winter holidays.

• Spend Time with Your Family

Most importantly, spend time with your family. Family always comes first! So, you must spend quality time with each of your family members. Spend time with your grandparents, parents and siblings to strengthen your bond.

Holidays are a great time to bond with family and friends. It is also a time to follow your interests and rejuvenate yourself. So, make the most of this time.

Holidays hold immense importance in a person’s life. Be it a student, a working professional or a businessman – everyone wants a break from their work. Holidays provide this much awaited break. They are also important for many other reasons.

Importance of Holidays for Students

Holidays are a time when we can finally take a break from our otherwise hectic routine and follow our hobbies and interests. I always make it a point to join a hobby course during holidays. I love art and craft and thus join different art and craft classes to hone my skills in the same. Last year, I joined glass painting classes, prior to that I joined pottery classes and this year I am planning to learn the art of candle making. Those days are particularly the best part of the summer vacations.

Most importantly, holidays are a time when we can relax and understand how to improve our skills to perform better in our exams as well as other activities. I make sure that I set aside at least 2-3 hours a day to study during the vacations. This helps me keep pace with my studies as I join back.

Importance of Holidays for Working People

Working professionals and businessmen also yearn for holidays. But they do not get long vacations like the school and college going kids. However, whatever little break they get they must make the most of it by indulging in the activity of their choice.

Working professionals mostly have long working hours these days. Many people even require working after they get back home from their work place. This hectic professional life often takes a toll on their personal life. They are hardly able to spend any time with their family members and this result in conflicts and strained relationships. Holidays give them an opportunity to spend time with their family to strengthen the bond. It is a good idea to plan a family vacation. Socializing is also very important and this can also be done during holidays as the hectic work routine does not allow any room for it during the regular days. It is a good time to meet one’s friends and relatives. Holidays are also a time to relax and focus on one’s physical as well as mental health.

Holidays are important as they help in maintaining a balance between our personal and professional life. We must spend them wisely to make the most of them.

Holiday Essay 5 (600 words)

Holidays are the best time of the year. I always look forward to my summer holidays as these are the longest holidays we students get during the year. I mostly spend them with my family and extended family. My parents also allow me to go on a few outings with friends as a reward if I study and behave well during the holidays.

My First Holiday with School Friends

Until 5 th grade my parents did not allow me to go for school trips but as I entered my 6 th grade I got this chance. My school had organized a three day trip to Shimla during the summer vacations. Many of my friends filled the consent to go for the trip. I wanted to go to but feared that my parents would not agree. At first, I thought there was no point even asking because their answer would only be no but my friends insisted I should.

I still remember how I hesitantly handed over the consent form for the trip to my father and began telling him about the details of the trip. I also told him that many of my classmates are going for it and that I also wanted to go. Initially, he refused as he felt I was too young to go out without their supervision. It took me around 2 days to convince my mother to allow me to go for the trip and she in turn convinced my father for the same. I was finally glad and super excited about the trip. I promised them that I will not talk to strangers, always move with the group and be careful with everything during the trip.

We travelled from Delhi to Kalka in train and then took a bus to reach Shimla. We reached our hotel in the afternoon. The first day we went to the mall road. The weather was pleasant and the place was amazing. I had been to various hill stations earlier as well but this place had something very refreshing about it. The company of friends made it all the more amazing. We roam around on the mall road and had planned to have dinner in a restaurant on our way back to the hotel but could not resist the smell of freshly steamed momos. They were super delicious and we ate so many of them that there was no room for dinner.

The next day we went to the Jakhu temple. The road to the temple was quite steep and we encountered hundreds of langoors on our way. It was a bit scary but exciting at the same time. The temple is set at a very serene place and we loved sitting in peace for some time. On our way back we decided to trek down the road and the experience was amazing. In the evening we visited the church and spent time on the mall road again. On the third day of our trip our teachers allowed us to go for shopping. We went to the Tibetan market to buy some really cool stuff. I bought scarves, hair clips and a jacket for myself. I also bought souvenirs for my siblings and friends.

The time finally came when we had to bid goodbye to the beautiful mountains and valley view of Shimla. We took the night bus straight for Delhi and reached home safely.

I had been on many family trips before this and loved them but the joy and excitement of going on trips with friends is something different. Since then I have been on many trips with my friends but I can never forget the wonderful moments spent on my first trip with them.

Christmas is not just any festival. It is like the Janmasthami, where the Hindus celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna as a little baby. Just like Janmasthami, Christmas is the festival to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Lord of all Christians. He was born on 25th December at Bethlehem, in Jerusalem, in a stable. His mother is mother Mary and his father is Joseph.

Jesus and Krishna have lots of similarities. Both of them were shepherds. Both were born in a very humble household. Both of them preached about peace. They taught us not to hurt others, even plants and animals. Being kind to all was their biggest teaching. So Christmas is as beautiful as Janmashtami.

On the eve of Christmas, on 24th December night, people arrange a Christmas tree. They decorate it with gifts and lights. They also bake cakes and cookies. Lots of guests are invited. Those who are rich, throw parties at their houses to celebrate Christmas. On the morning of Christmas, they visit churches and pray to Jesus for the overall peace and well-being. They are offered bread and wine to eat as the blessings of Christ. After they return, their festival starts with sharing food and serving the poor.

The saints, popes, and nuns serve the needy as part of the celebration. The biggest fun of Christmas is Sants Claus. He arrives the night before Christmas and distributes gifts to good children. The kids rejoice at the gifts, which increases their happiness.

Now Christmas is not just a festival of the Christians. It is now for all. In India, everyone enjoys the winter vacation. Kolkata is one of the biggest attractions during this time. It lights up beautifully and people come out of their houses to have fun. Eating cakes, praying to God is now the ritual of all. Working professionals and businessmen also yearn for holidays. But they do not get long vacations like the school and college going kids. However, whatever little break they get they must make the most of it by indulging in the activity of their choice.

Working professionals mostly have long working hours these days. Many people even require working after they get back home from their work place. This hectic professional life often takes a toll on their personal life. They are hardly able to spend any time with their family members and this result in conflicts and strained relationships. Holidays give them an opportunity to spend time with their family to strengthen the bond. It is a good idea to plan a family vacation. Socializing is also very important and this can also be done during holidays as the hectic work routine does not allow any room for it during the regular days. It is a good time to meet one’s friends and relatives. Holidays are also a time to relax and focus on one’s physical as well as mental health.

Holidays are the best time of the year. I always look forward to my summer holidays as these are the longest holidays we students get during the year. My First Holiday with School Friends

Until 5 th grade my parents did not allow me to go for school trips but as I entered my 6 th grade I got this chance. My school had organized a three day trip to Shimla during the summer vacations. Many of my friends filled the consent to go for the trip. I wanted to go to but feared that my parents would not agree. At first, I thought there was no point even asking because their answer would only be no but my friends insisted I should.

I still remember how I hesitantly handed over the consent form for the trip to my father and began telling him about the details of the trip. I also told him that many of my classmates are going for it and that I also wanted to go. Initially, he refused as he felt I was too young to go out without their supervision. It took me around 2 days to convince my mother to allow me to go for the trip and she in turn convinced my father for the same. I was finally glad and super excited about the trip. I promised them that I will not talk to strangers, always move with the group and be careful with everything during the trip.

We travelled from Delhi to Kalka in train and then took a bus to reach Shimla. We reached our hotel in the afternoon. The first day we went to the mall road. The weather was pleasant and the place was amazing. I had been to various hill stations earlier as well but this place had something very refreshing about it. The company of friends made it all the more amazing. We roam around on the mall road and had planned to have dinner in a restaurant on our way back to the hotel but could not resist the smell of freshly steamed momos. They were super delicious and we ate so many of them that there was no room for dinner.

The next day we went to the Jakhu temple. The road to the temple was quite steep and we encountered hundreds of langoors on our way. It was a bit scary but exciting at the same time. The temple is set at a very serene place and we loved sitting in peace for some time. On our way back we decided to trek down the road and the experience was amazing. In the evening we visited the church and spent time on the mall road again. On the third day of our trip our teachers allowed us to go for shopping. We went to the Tibetan market to buy some really cool stuff. I bought scarves, hair clips and a jacket for myself. I also bought souvenirs for my siblings and friends.

The time finally came when we had to bid goodbye to the beautiful mountains and valley view of Shimla. We took the night bus straight for Delhi and reached home safely.

I had been on many family trips before this and loved them but the joy and excitement of going on trips with friends is something different. Since then I have been on many trips with my friends but I can never forget the wonderful moments spent on my first trip with them.

My father was driving the car. My mother also drove for a couple of miles. Finally, we reached our village . My uncles and aunties came to the main road to receive us. They were really pleased to see us. I found a few of my cousins there.

We went home and meet my grandparents. They were really happy. I found so many things have been changed in two years. The village was improving. I was happy to see that. But there was the same natural beauty. In the afternoon, I came out with my cousins to explore the beauty of the village. I met with lots of villagers, I know most of them and they also know me. My father is really popular here because he does charity for villagers.

In the holidays, we get a chance to meet each other. We decided to visit the nearest jungle and there was a really beautiful spot for a picnic. Lots of people go there on weekends.

We also decided to go there. We reached our destination at 10 o’clock morning. We were really excited to see natural beauty. The place was really silent and we found lots of jungle hens and other little animals. I was speechless to see all of these. One of my cousins wanted to explore the place real quick. We saw so many things. There was a beautiful river beside the jungle. The water is really clean there. The river was not deep and we were able to cross the river walking through big rocks. We collected some beautiful rocks too. The bird’s sound was really sweet and we saw several types of birds. An uncle was describing every bird and was sharing information about them as a bird-expert.  

Cousins: In the whole picnic and holidays, my cousins were the most important part of it. They helped me to enjoy the vacation. When I am with them, I feel really good and they all are my best friends.  

Conclusion: I was really excited about the whole thing. I wish to be there again. This day is really memorable for me.    

How I Spent My Holidays at Home: Essay (400 Words) for Class 6, 7, 8

Introduction: I always love the holidays. The reason is, it comes with so much fun and excitement. Always we do something different for every holiday. We have spent long holidays a few weeks ago and that was amazing and memorable in my life. I spent the entire holidays in my home, but it was significant.  

My Cousins : The most important part of my holidays was, of course, my cousins . I have lots of cousins, living in the same city. But we can’t meet often because of the tight school schedule and our parents are also always busy. But in the holidays it’s an amazing chance to meet everyone.

We gathered in one house and spend a few days together. This time we planned to spend the entire holiday in our house. I said to my parents and they were happy about it. My parents are really loving and they never get worried or angry with me. My cousins are really incredible.

When we meet together, we so many unbelievable things make the meet funnier. So finally all of my cousins came to my house. They were five in total. Including me, we were six. So it’s not a small number. We all are pretty much the same age and that’s why we have got amazing bonding.  

Drawing Competition: One of my uncles arranged a drawing competition for us. The first prize was 10 books, second prize was 5 books and the third prize was 3 books. And every participant will get one book each. He gave us two days to practice. We were really excited about the competition.

First of all, we took a day to finalize the drawing subject. We showed our drawing subject to our uncle. He approved them and gave us some drawing suggestions. Finally, that day arrived. There were four people as a judge. Two of my uncles and one of my aunties and my mother was in the judging team. I was really excited about my performance. We all draw and Nila nominated as the best artist among us.

She draws a landscape that was looking awesome. I loved that drawing. Nikhil was second and I was third. I wasn’t worried about my ranking, because they both made an amazing drawing. And overall, it was a fun competition.  

Conclusion:  I spend a really amazing time with my cousins. I wish I can spend all of my holidays with them. They all are amazing and loving. We have great bonding.    

How I Spent My Holidays at Home: Essay (500 Words) for Class 9, 10  

Introduction: Today I am going to share my experience on how I spent my holidays at home. That was an amazing experience. I went to our village. We actually go there after a couple of years. That’s why I always become excited. There are lots of things to do and see. My father spent his whole life in that village. Spending holidays in the village is really fun for me.  

My Holidays at Home: We arrived in the village at noon. it took 5 hours car journey. The road was pretty good. The government is working on these local areas. My uncles, cousins, and grandparents were ready to welcome us. They were really happy to see us visiting them. My younger sister was really excited to see everyone.

When she came here a few years ago she was a kid, she can’t remember anything and that’s why she has to learn everything again. I find all of my cousins and went to our home with them. My cousins are really helpful. They love me a lot. Whenever I visit the village, they try to spend all of the time with me. They really care about me. I was really tired because of that long journey.

I took a bath and ate some ‘pitha’ made by aunties. They were amazing. I loved the taste. Then I asked every uncles and aunty about their life. Few neighbors also came to meet my family. Most of them were female.  I met with so many peoples. I was feeling really good to know such loving peoples in my own village.  

Visiting the Village: After taking some rest and meeting with people, one of my cousins Bhuvan asked me to go out. I was agreed and few of us planned to take a little walk through the village. I wanted to see the entire village. We met lots of people on the road. I know some of them and don’t know some.

It’s a really great experience to see the village from so close. Lots of things have been changed but the beauty of an Indian village was still there. Villagers are really easy people and peace-loving. They love living together without having any problem. I loved their lifestyle. Most of them are fisherman, farmers.

But in this generation, lots of kids are educated and lots of them are studying in school and college. We have a college near our village and two schools in the village. That’s a really good thing that my village is progressing.  

My Grandparents: The most important reason for visiting the village is my grandparents. I love them so much and I always wanted to spend some time with them. They were really excited to see us. Especially my grandmother really loves and she loves me a lot. She shared lots of stories with us. I still listen to her stories and loved them.  

Conclusion: It was an amazing experience to spend time in my village . These holidays were the best holidays of my life.
