Subjects Covered in Online IAS Coaching

Online coaching for UPSC exam includes a broad spectrum of subjects. This prepares aspirants for the Civil Services Examination. The exam structure is divided into three unique stages. These are the Preliminary exam, the Mains exam, and the Interview or Personality Test. Each stage evaluates various skills needed for a role in civil services. A brief explanation of these 3 phases:

Preliminary Exam:

The Preliminary exam, often referred to as Prelims, acts as the initial filtering stage. It comprises:

GS Paper I: This paper covers a wide array of topics such as Geography, Polity, Economy, Ecology, Science, and Current Events. It aims to assess a candidate’s general awareness and its significance in governance.

GS Paper II: also known as CSAT, evaluates analytical abilities. This includes comprehension and decision-making capabilities. To pass prelims, candidates must secure at least a 33% score in this paper.

Mains Examination:

Moving on to the Mains examination, it is the second phase for those who clear the Prelims. This phase is descriptive, focusing on the depth of knowledge and the ability to present information effectively. The syllabus is extensive and includes:

General Studies Papers: There are four papers dedicated to General Studies. These cover a broad range of subjects including Heritage, Governance, Technology, and Ethics. (Refer to the provided syllabus for complete details)

Optional Subject: Here, candidates select an optional subject from a list offered by UPSC . This selection allows them to specialize in an area of their interest.

Essay Paper: In this segment, candidates must write essays on two topics, choosing one from each of the two sections provided. The essay paper scrutinizes the candidate’s skill in constructing well-reasoned arguments on complex issues within a limited timeframe. (For tips, look up: Essay Writing for UPSC Exam )

Language Papers: Candidates are tested in two languages. One is of the candidate’s choice from the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution, and the other is English. Both papers serve as qualifying in nature.

Interview/Personality Test

At this phase, the examination goes beyond mere knowledge assessment. It scrutinizes the aspirants’ personal characters, quick thinking, leadership capabilities, and ability to relate socially. The evaluating panel determines the suitability of candidates for a civil service career. This segment holds significant weight as it influences their overall ranking and the allocation of services.

UPSC Online Coaching’s Role: The significance of online coaching for the UPSC exam is profound. It delivers exhaustive preparation across all the examination stages. In fact, during the coaching, you cultivate the necessary traits for these three important phases. It allows you to simultaneously understand the subjects for both the Prelims and the Mains. This dual approach fosters a deeper comprehension of topics for the Mains while aiding in the retention of facts for the Prelims. Consequently, preparation for both examinations progresses in tandem.

Teachers not only introduce you to relevant current affairs but also teach you how to incorporate them into your UPSC answer writing. This integration skill is crucial for the exam.

Our UPSC online coaching engage candidates in regular mock tests for both the Prelims and the Mains. They participate in simulated interviews to prepare for the final hurdle. This holistic approach ensures readiness in academics, and personality development. Excelling in both domains is crucial for success in the Civil Services Examination.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQS)

Answer:  Yes, if adequate study material is available, interactive sessions with experienced faculty are available, and mock tests and practise papers are provided for regular assessment of the candidate, UPSC online coaching can be extremely beneficial in IAS Civil Services preparation.

Answer:  When you have to cover a syllabus as extensive as the UPSCs, every minute counts. Enrolling in a coaching institute can eliminate that extra work from your routine, allowing you to focus solely on your ultimate goal.

Answer:  After each class in the regular classroom course, the videos of the lectures are uploaded to our study portal. Even after the course is completed, you will have access to these videos for review. All of the study material books are shipped to your address within 10 days. Similarly, the test series are also administered online via our study portal. So you don’t notice any difference between the classroom and the online course.

Answer:  Students enrolled in our classroom courses can ask their teachers for clarification at any time. We understand that if a student has a question, it should be answered right away. As a result, our teachers are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assist students with their problems.

Answer:  Elite IAS has always provided its students with high-quality content, and now it is assisting them with current-affairs seminars. The most effective way to prepare for current events is to use high-quality content and classes. Students benefit from the classes because they learn what to study and how to study.

Answer:  Students should begin studying Current Affairs on a regular basis and not wait until the exam date to do so. Students should start studying at least ten months before the Prelims. Regular coverage of current events allows a student to stay informed, arrange events, learn more deeply, and analyse.

Answer:  No, it’s a fallacy that you need to take a course to pass the exam. Self-study is sufficient for preparation. However, the true difference that coaching institutes make is that they improve your preparation by providing good supervision, be it UPSC online coaching or offline.

This exam necessitates a lot of serious study and devotion. Every applicant who understands the UPSC’s trends and expectations and works diligently toward achieving a rank under suitable supervision has a chance to succeed.

This year’s Mains – 2021 questions in GS, Essay, and even Optional papers need in-depth examination of trending topics as well as certain key static topics that may or may not be in the news.

Analytical skills can only be enhanced by regularly thinking and writing. Regular writing, in particular, is essential for improving your analytical abilities. Writing answers after reading other people’s answers or reading a synopsis will get you nowhere.

You must adhere to the standards outlined in the preceding article. You can get knowledge but not wisdom by consulting a summary.

Legacy IAS team will frame as many questions as feasible on each and every component of the GS syllabi as part of this initiative. This will allow you to take continuous notes and write answers until your  UPSC Mains Exam 2022-2023.
