2. Write an Essay on Your Daily Life  by Darshan Kadu

“Life is too precious to be idled away in lethargic existence and in useless ventures. My daily routine is jam-packed with actions and activities and keeps me and my mind busy all the time. The adventures of daily life make it interesting and an exciting journey.”

On school days, Kadu’s daily routine includes jogging, getting ready for school, and having breakfast with the whole family. After school and attending meetings, he usually plays with friends in the field. Kadu also mentions how he spends his holidays. He believes that even though he has a daily routine, it’s exciting and full of adventure.

“Ancient Egyptian’s daily life revolves around the Nile and the rich soil around it… daily lives of people have changed a lot since then.”

This essay shows how religion helped the Ancient Egyptians run their daily lives. The author discusses changes in festivals and the treatment of gods and royalty. To make an effective comparison, they use three examples: the importance of family, the Nile, and slavery.

The writer mentions that the Nile was essential in Ancient Egypt because it provided food to the people. Modern Egyptians no longer depend on the Nile river and its rich soil. As for working, people used to be enslaved by the rich and were forced to farm. Now, while farming is a work option, slavery doesn’t happen anymore. Early marriage is also forgotten, but the importance of family is still the same for all Egyptians.

Subedi believes that people spend the day depending on their roles. Because he’s a student, he talks about how a typical school day goes for him, noting how he follows a strict schedule to do his homework, play with friends, and prepare for the next day.

Subedi mentions how Saturdays and holidays distract his daily routine and shares how he feels like a machine with the readers. However, he also says that he knows it’s necessary to have a successful life. You might also be interested in these essays about New Year .

5. Long Essay on Television In Our Daily Life by Prasanna

“There are channels that beam programs 24 hours a day. Whereas this may be a boon for the people who do not have much to do anyway, it becomes a source of great distraction for children for whom the priority should be their studies.”

Technology like television is essential today but can also be a distraction to many. Prasanna refers to television as the most common form of entertainment that provides information on what’s happening worldwide. However, some shows have mature or violent elements that have adverse effects, especially on children. Additionally, those who spend too much time watching television will miss the thrill and excitement of going out and meeting other people.

My Daily Life Essay (My Daily Routine Essay)

Life is too precious to be idled away in a dull existence. My daily routine is jam-packed with actions and activities and it keeps me and my mind busy. The adventures of everyday life make it an enjoyable and exciting journey. Here are some sample essays on my daily life:

100 Words Essay on My Daily Life (My Daily Routine Essay)

A student should follow an effective routine to achieve success. I’m a morning person. The calm and quiet early morning helps me to concentrate better. I have a daily routine that starts early at 5 am and ends with planning the next day's work at 10 pm. I wake up at five and study till 7. I eat my breakfast at 8 am and leave for school at 8:30. Revision in the morning helps me understand better in class.

My Daily Life Essay (My Daily Routine Essay)

I make sure my routine does not become monotonous, so after I reach home, I go and play outside with my friends. Dinner time is always family time. The day ends with a short walk on the terrace gazing at the stars. The routine keeps me active and productive all the time.

200 Words Essay on My Daily Life (My Daily Routine Essay)

“ We are what we repeatedly do ,” says my dad daily quoting Aristotle. According to him, following a daily routine consistently will help me achieve my goals. He says that by planning my day and following it, I can complete all my work on time, avoiding pressure and being more productive.

My Daily Routine

Every morning I wake up at 5 am to the sound of my brother’s alarm which wakes me up. Exercising in the morning keeps me energetic and active the entire day. The fresh aroma of roasted coffee beans from the kitchen indicates coffee time. Later, I diligently sit for my morning studies and revise the previous day's concepts.

By 8:00 am, I’m ready for school. My mother prepares a delicious breakfast which I eat while watching the daily news along with my brother. 8:30 am I leave for school on my bicycle. Halfway, my friends join me. After lunch, I prefer light walking and freshening up for the afternoon study session. Classes end by 3:30 pm. After school, I go to the playground with my basketball team, where we practise for 2 hours, and I reach home by 6 pm. I finish my homework before supper.

Before going to bed, I prepare for the next day at school. Weekends are more relaxed. Mornings are usually spent cycling with friends. Afternoons, I help my mother grocery shop and cook in the kitchen. In the evening, I visit my grandma and have dinner with her.

500 Words Essay on My Daily Life Essay (My Daily Routine Essay)

“Early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise” is taught to us from childhood. Following the principle, I begin my day early, around 5 am. I spend the first hour of my day exercising with my brother. I love sunrises. Around 6 am, I take a pleasant walk in the park with my pet dog “Candy” enjoying the beautiful, heartwarming morning light.

My Morning Routine

After the walk, I freshen up and study for an hour. I start with the daily newspaper, followed by my curriculum subjects. At precisely 8 am, we all gather at the dining table to have our breakfast. By 8:45, everyone departs for their respective work. I will reach school in 15 minutes by bicycle. Classes begin at 9:30 and continue till 12:30 pm.

My Afternoon Routine

Lunch breaks are always fun. I share my lunch with all my friends. I, along with my friends, walk to the dining hall; on the way, I make sure to go through the school's bulletin board. We discuss sports, television serials, and games while having our lunch. Lunch breaks are when I meet my seniors, discuss my doubts, and ask for their suggestions.

Classes go on till 3:30 pm. The last hour of the day is dedicated to PTE or games. This is the time when I relax and have fun. We indulge ourselves in fun games like running, tennis, basketball etc.

My Evening Routine

By 4:30, on the way home, I like stopping by my favourite chaat shop and enjoying some delicacies there. After arriving home at 5:00, I relax for an hour, eat some snacks, and watch my favourite tv show. 6 - 7:30 I go out to play.

By 7:30 pm , I’m back to studying, finishing my homework, and revising the day's curriculum till 8:30. We have our supper by 9. Everyone updates about their daily happenings during supper. I watch television for some time after dinner and finally am off to bed by 10 pm. I end my day by offering my gratitude for everything.

My Favourite part of the day

The time I have my supper is the best part of my day. I enjoy it a lot. My father usually asks us about our day. He usually tells us stories from his office, cracks jokes, and sometimes asks us puzzling questions. The winner gets to choose the tv program to watch. Later, the entire family goes out for a short walk with Candy. It's the perfect way to end the day with love, warmth and togetherness.

My Daily Relaxing Recreation

Every passing moment is an opportunity. But sometimes, these deadlines and schedules work me up. Everyone should have a hobby to relax and unwind from their daily monotonous routine. So, I make sure to relax now and then with some hobbies. My mother and I love to bake. Baking helps us relax. I feel calm and composed after baking.

It allows you to convey a sense of structure, rhythm, and personal habits that contribute to your everyday life. Whether you want to document your routine for personal reflection or share it with others, writing about your daily routine can offer insights into your lifestyle, priorities, and goals. In this introduction, we will explore the essential elements to consider when writing a paragraph on your daily routine, emphasizing the importance of organization, detail, and self-expression.

Table of Contents

Tips On Writing A Paragraph On My Daily Routine

Start with a Clear Introduction: Begin your paragraph by introducing your daily routine. Provide a concise overview of your typical day, mentioning key activities or events that occur regularly. This introduction sets the context for the rest of the paragraph and gives readers an understanding of what to expect.

Include Relevant Details: When describing your daily routine, include specific details that make your paragraph more engaging and informative. Describe the time you wake up, your morning rituals, work or school-related activities, leisure time, and evening routines. Including specific details helps paint a clear picture of your daily life.

Organize Chronologically: To maintain a logical flow, organize your paragraph chronologically. Start with the beginning of your day and progress through the activities in the order they typically occur. This chronological structure helps readers follow your routine more easily and understand the sequence of events.

Highlight Significance or Impact: As you describe your daily activities, consider highlighting any particular tasks or events that hold significance or have an impact on your day. For example, you may mention activities that bring you joy, help you achieve personal or professional goals, or contribute to your overall well-being. This adds depth and personalization to your paragraph.

Conclude with a Summary or Reflection: Wrap up your paragraph by summarizing your daily routine or offering a brief reflection. You can mention any patterns or themes that emerge from your routine, share your thoughts on the overall balance or effectiveness of your daily activities, or express any aspirations or goals related to your routine. This conclusion adds a sense of closure and allows readers to gain a deeper understanding of your daily life.

Paragraph 1

This healthy start to my day helps me feel energized and ready to tackle whatever comes my way.

Paragraph 2

Once I finish breakfast, I get ready for the day by taking a shower and getting dressed. Then, I make my way to work, which is a 30-minute commute by car. During the ride, I listen to my favorite podcasts or uplifting music, which helps set a positive tone for the day ahead.

Paragraph 3

My workday typically begins at 9:00 AM. As a project manager, I spend a significant portion of my day attending meetings, collaborating with colleagues, and ensuring that projects are progressing smoothly. I prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and work closely with my team to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality results.

Whether it’s going for a run, practicing yoga, or attending a fitness class, exercise helps me relieve stress and stay physically fit. Afterward, I prepare a wholesome dinner, which usually consists of a balanced mix of proteins, vegetables, and whole grains.

Paragraph 8

Evenings are my designated time for relaxation and personal pursuits. I enjoy spending quality time with my family, catching up on my favorite TV shows, or indulging in a good book. This downtime allows me to recharge and disconnect from work-related responsibilities.

Paragraph 9

Before bed, I follow a calming bedtime routine to ensure a restful night’s sleep. This includes dimming the lights, practicing a few minutes of meditation or deep breathing exercises, and reading a book. By winding down in this way, I set the stage for a peaceful and rejuvenating sleep.

After that, I go home, have dinner, and spend the rest of my evening doing homework or relaxing before going to bed at around 10 pm. This is my daily routine that keeps me organized and helps me prioritize my responsibilities as a school student.

My Daily Routine Essay 2: 250 Words

As a high school student, my daily routine consists of a combination of school, extracurricular activities, and personal time. I usually wake up early in the morning, around 6:30 am, to get ready for school. After a quick shower and breakfast, I catch the bus and head to school. Once at school, I attend various classes throughout the day, including math, English, and science. I also participate in extracurricular activities like debate club and soccer practice after school. After a long day of learning and activities, I usually return home, complete my homework assignments, and relax by reading a book or watching a movie before going to bed around 10 pm. In addition to my academic and extracurricular commitments, I also try to find time for myself each day. This personal time allows me to unwind and recharge. I enjoy pursuing my hobbies, such as playing the guitar or painting, during this time. It helps me relax and relieve any stress accumulated during the day. I also use this time to connect with my family and friends, whether it’s having dinner together or chatting on the phone. Finally, before bedtime, I unwind with a good book or some soothing music. I believe in the importance of a good night’s sleep for overall well-being, so I ensure I get enough rest to prepare for the next day. Overall, my daily routine is a balance of education, activities, and personal time that helps me grow as a student and an individual.

My Daily Routine Essay 3: 300 Words

My daily routine is like a well-oiled machine, a fine-tuned rhythm that helps me stay organized and focused throughout the day. First and foremost, as soon as I wake up, I stretch my limbs and take a deep breath, setting a positive tone for the day ahead. After freshening up and getting dressed, I head to the kitchen to fuel my body with a wholesome breakfast, consisting of whole grains, fruits, and a glass of milk. This provides me with the necessary energy to kickstart my day. Once I am nourished, I gather my school bag, ensuring that all my books and necessary materials are packed neatly. Then, I make my way to the bus stop, catching up with friends and chatting, making the ride to school an enjoyable one. Upon arrival, I attend my classes diligently, actively participating in discussions and taking notes to maximize my understanding of the subjects. During breaks, I make it a point to socialize with my peers, to forge stronger friendships and create a positive atmosphere within the school. After school, I participate in extracurricular activities such as sports or clubs, to engage in my passions and develop a well-rounded personality. In the evenings, I dedicate time to complete any pending assignments or study for upcoming tests, ensuring that I am well-prepared for academic challenges. However, I also value relaxation, and so I indulge in hobbies like reading or playing the guitar, which help me unwind and de-stress. Finally, before retiring to bed, I reflect on the day’s events, making mental notes on areas that may need improvement and areas where I succeeded. This allows me to grow and learn from my experiences, setting the groundwork for an even better routine tomorrow. Ultimately, my daily routine helps me navigate through the various aspects of my life, ensuring that I stay focused, organized, and balanced on my journey towards academic and personal success.

My Daily Routine Essay 4: 500 Words

A daily routine is a set of activities that we engage in regularly, following a specific schedule. It helps to structure our day and ensures that we utilize our time efficiently. Having a well-planned daily routine not only increases our productivity but also improves our physical and mental well-being. In this essay, I will describe my daily routine and how it helps me to achieve my goals and maintain a healthy lifestyle. 1. Morning Routine: I start my day early in the morning as it gives me a head start and allows me to accomplish more. My alarm clock goes off promptly at 6 am, and I immediately stretch, as it helps to awaken my body. After that, I freshen up and spend 15 minutes practicing meditation, which sets a calm and positive tone for the day. Following that, I do an hour of exercise, alternating between cardio and strength training. This energizes me and helps me stay fit. Finally, I have a nutritious breakfast consisting of fruits, oats, and eggs to fuel my body and mind. 2. Work/School Routine: After breakfast, I get ready for work or school. I organize my belongings, pack my lunch, and ensure that I have everything I need for the day. Transportation to my workplace or school takes approximately 30 minutes, during which I catch up on reading or listen to educational podcasts. Upon arrival, I review my schedule, prioritize my tasks, and create a to-do list. This helps me stay focused and organized throughout the day, ensuring that I complete all my assignments and projects efficiently. 3. Afternoon Routine: During my lunch break, I take time to relax and recharge. I have a healthy meal, preferably packed from home to ensure balanced nutrition. Afterward, I engage in a leisure activity for a short period, such as reading a book or going for a walk. This helps me to de-stress and re-energize for the second half of the day. In the afternoon, I attend classes or work on assignments, actively participating and seeking clarification whenever required. 4. Evening Routine: In the evening, I prioritize spending quality time with my family and friends. Depending on the day, I either attend extracurricular activities or have a quiet evening at home. This includes activities such as playing sports, watching a movie, or engaging in hobbies such as painting or writing. Regularly engaging in leisure activities helps me maintain a healthy work-life balance and keeps my mind stimulated. 5. Night Routine: To wind down for the night, I allocate time for personal care and relaxation. I ensure that I complete all pending tasks, review my to-do list for the next day, and plan accordingly. Afterward, I enjoy a homemade dinner with my family, engaging in light-hearted conversations. Following dinner, I spend time away from screens, allowing my mind to relax. This could be reading a book, practicing mindfulness, or writing in my journal. Finally, I maintain a consistent sleep schedule, ensuring I get at least 7-8 hours of sleep every night. Conclusion In conclusion, maintaining a disciplined daily routine helps me lead a healthy and balanced lifestyle. It allows me to accomplish my goals, stay focused, and make the most of my time. My daily routine consists of a structured morning, work/school schedule, leisure activities in the evening, and a restful night routine. By following this routine diligently, I have found myself more productive, happier, and physically healthier. Having a daily routine is not only beneficial to our work or academics but also contributes to our overall well-being.

How to Write a Great “Describe an Activity” Essay | Guide and Examples

Brad Schiller

You’re going to enjoy writing this essay more than you might think. As college essay coaches , we’ve found students tend to like it. (Well. As much as you’re gonna “like” any of these.)

Usually a short one, this supplemental essay is a chance to talk about something you already love and connect it to your dreamiest ideas of what you might be getting up to on the college’s campus in a few short months.

This post will take you through 5 easy steps for writing a killer “Describe an Activity” essay without wasting any time.

(For tips on writing all college essays and supplements, check out our College Essay Help Center .)

Choose your second-best activity

No, that’s a joke. Of course, choose your “best” activity. Except if you already used your “best” activity in your personal statement (which many people do - writing about activities in your essays is a great idea). In that case, let’s go with the second best.

The important thing here is to spend 15-30 minutes brainstorming all of your activities. Put down on paper the obvious ones; the ones you dropped; the unusual ones that aren’t really “Debate Club” stuff — maybe you make your own umbrellas; maybe you’ve read every Jane Austin biography known to man. Think carefully and get everything down so you can see your candidates clearly.

Next, assess which extracurricular is “best” using the 4 criteria below:

Choosing your activity: 4 big things to look for

1. Steady commitment — Choose an activity you’ve spent real time on. You need to talk about something that’s meaningful to you.

“Commitment” implies that you’ve kept up with the activity until relatively recently . That is, through most of high school. For example, if you were all-in on Debate from middle school through the first half of freshman year, that’s not the steady commitment colleges are looking for.

2. The 5 traits — there’s never a time admissions officers aren’t interested in the 5 traits . Bonus: activities are great at showing off the 5 traits. For example:

  • Drive — you’ve never missed a soccer practice, you convinced the team to add another practice when the team hit a rough patch, you added weights to your fitness routine when you learned it might help your performance.
  • Intellectual curiosity — if you write for your high school fiction magazine, talk about the authors you’ve discovered in extra reading you’ve done in your own time; talk about a seminar you sought out on the basics of fiction writing.
  • Initiative — there was no band before you came to your high school. Or there was a band, but it had old, broken instruments, and you held a fundraiser to pay for upgrades, and advocated for a budget change, too.
  • Contribution — you started volunteering more and more hours at a local food pantry and got involved with neighborhood groups publicizing free food pantries during the pandemic. You’ve learned how deep food insecurity goes in your own community, and you’ve recruited friends to help and to see that for themselves.
  • Diversity of experiences — Your love of band comes from growing up in jazz-soaked New Orleans, where you learned jazz trumpet. Your volunteer work gives you a perspective into your community that many others lack. (Activities are a great place to show off what gives you a unique perspective.)

3. Awards, leadership - Awards and leadership experience are pretty irrefutable proof that you developed the interest fully and well. They’re not necessary (unlike commitment and the 5 traits, which are necessary), but they’re nice.

4. Unique, interesting - Something memorable and unusual can be more tantalizing to a college admissions officer than all the awards in the world. Not always — you’d generally want to talk about an interest for which you were a leader and won rewards (ex: Debate Club) over an unusual one (ex: making your own umbrellas), but if you didn’t really shine in Debate, go for the umbrellas every time. There’s a lot to be said for writing about something genuine that the admissions officer has never read before.

Write an essay that shows off what you might do on campus

Think of this supplement as something of a “preview.” Colleges are wondering if you’re likely to fully develop an interesting extracurricular with them , on their campus. (And also, maybe later, once you graduate.) That’s hard to predict, of course. But the best evidence you have of your future success is to show you’ve done it before — with a really cool high school activity.

Paint a picture for your admissions reader of you doing this exciting activity on their campus. Making their campus better and more interesting because of your work. Make them salivate over the prospect of seeing you doing your thing.

They’ll be itching to get you admitted.

To do this, you do want to research that campus and what opportunities it offers to further your activity . This might mean what clubs and funding it has available, but it also could mean showing how the activity would influence or benefit from certain academics.

Structure: Use 1 of our 3 outlines to write a strong essay

‍ If your essay is short (under 150 words) , you only need to keep in mind two things:

  • Cram the essay as full of how this activity helped you exemplify 1 or more of the 5 traits as you can, and
  • Write clearly.

You want this short piece of writing to unambiguously portray you as someone with tremendous potential.

For medium to long essays (150 words or more) , almost any activity essay (and many others) can benefit from one of these structures. Actually, the best way to access them is via the supplemental materials section of our Dashboard — it walks you through exactly what to write (and you end the process with an essay that’s mostly done).

The gist of them is this:

1. Initiative and Impact — for activities where you solved a problem, overcame a challenge, or had a concrete impact.

  • Hook ( 1-2 sentences ). Briefly describe your achievement. Aim to make the reader think, “Impressive! How did they do that?”
  • Raise the stakes ( 1 paragraph ). Add context and detail about the challenge/problem. Hint: The lower the starting point, the more meaningful your achievement will seem.
  • Your actions ( 1 paragraph ). List the actions you took. Think: How would things have been different if I hadn’t been there?
  • The impact ( 1 paragraph ). The most important part!! Using concrete language — quantify where you can — describe what you achieved.
  • Optional - At the college ( 1-2 sentences ). The last “impact” paragraph is the place to add a word or two on how you might carry on or further develop your activity on the college’s campus.

2. Personal Growth — for activities where you changed as a person, improved your skills, or learned to see yourself or others differently.

  • Hook ( 1-2 sentences ). Briefly describe the activity and how you grew from it. Aim to make the reader think, “What a cool way to be. How did they get that way?”
  • Raise the stakes ( 1 paragraph ). Add detail about Before You’s problems. Show clearly, but briefly, how Before You thought or acted, so the reader can see how much you've grown.
  • Your actions (1 paragraph). List the actions you took. Think: How would things have been different if I hadn’t been there?
  • What you learned (1 paragraph). The most important part!! Describe what the experience taught you, and what New You does differently (better).
  • Optional - At the college ( 1-2 sentences ). The last “What you learned” paragraph is the place to add a word or two on how you might carry on or further develop your activity on the college’s campus.

3. Passions — for essays in which you pursue a meaningful activity in a deeply engaged way.

  • Hook (1-2 sentences). Briefly describe your activity and how you pursue it. Aim to make the reader think, “What a fascinating interest. How do they pursue it?”
  • Raise the stakes (1-2 paragraphs). Add detail on the actions you take to pursue this interest. Hint: You should show how you've gone above and beyond to engage in this activity outside of your teacher's or parent's instruction.
  • How it makes you feel (1 paragraph). The most important part!! Show why the interest is meaningful to you by describing what it brings out in you, or how it’s changed you.
  • Optional - At the college ( 1-2 sentences ). The last “How it makes you feel” paragraph is the place to add a word or two on how you might carry on or further develop your activity on the college’s campus.

Writing Style: Clear and straightforward

College essays are the wrong place for “beautiful” writing . That’s particularly true here, where your space is more limited than in the personal statement.

Put all your energy into showing off 1 or more of the 5 traits via the activity you chose. Then invest the time to get feedback. Obviously, using a college essay coach , who knows what colleges are looking for, is best.

You can also ask someone you trust to read it through only for clarity. Ask your mom (let’s say) to circle places where she gets confused or has questions. Tell her not to focus on content.

(She’s apt to think your fascinating and unique umbrella-building activity is less good than your lackluster Debate Club performance that you only did to make her happy. You have to be firm on that.)

Essay on Daily Routine

In the fabric of life, our daily routines are the threads that weave together our days, giving structure, predictability, and a sense of normalcy to our existence. For students, establishing a well-organized daily routine is not just about managing time effectively; it’s about cultivating habits that foster growth, learning, and personal well-being. This essay delves into the significance of a daily routine, outlines a comprehensive example of an effective routine for students, and explains how such routines can enhance various aspects of life.

The Importance of a Daily Routine

A daily routine refers to the structured schedule of activities that one follows throughout the day. This could range from morning rituals, academic tasks, extracurricular activities, to relaxation before bed. The importance of a daily routine for students cannot be overstated. It instills a sense of discipline, improves time management skills, reduces stress by removing the unpredictability from the day, and ultimately contributes to achieving academic and personal goals.

Establishing a Morning Routine

A productive day begins the night before. Setting a consistent bedtime and wake-up time ensures adequate rest and sets the tone for the day. Upon waking, engaging in a morning routine that includes hydration, exercise, and a nutritious breakfast can energize the body and sharpen the mind. A brief period of planning can also help prioritize tasks and set a clear direction for the day.

Academic and Extracurricular Balance

The core of a student’s daily routine revolves around academic responsibilities. Allocating specific blocks of time for attending classes, studying, and completing assignments can help manage the workload effectively. It’s crucial, however, to intersperse these periods with breaks to avoid burnout and maintain productivity.

Incorporating extracurricular activities into the routine is equally important. Whether it’s sports, music, art, or volunteer work, these activities provide a much-needed break from academics, fostering personal growth and skill development.

The Role of Leisure and Downtime

While it may seem counterintuitive, scheduling time for relaxation and leisure activities is a vital component of an effective daily routine. This downtime allows for mental and physical recovery, boosting overall well-being and creativity. Engaging in hobbies, spending time with family and friends, or simply relaxing can rejuvenate the mind and body, preparing students for the challenges of the next day.

Evening Wind-Down

An evening routine plays a critical role in signaling the body to prepare for sleep. Limiting screen time, reflecting on the day’s achievements, and planning for the next day can ease the transition into rest. Reading or meditating before bed can also help calm the mind and ensure a restful night’s sleep.

The Impact of a Daily Routine on Student Life

Academic performance.

A structured daily routine enhances focus and efficiency, allowing students to dedicate ample time to their studies. By breaking down tasks into manageable segments and avoiding procrastination, students can improve their academic performance and achieve better grades.

Physical Health and Well-being

Regular physical activity, balanced nutrition, and sufficient sleep are fundamental aspects of a daily routine that directly impact physical health. These habits boost immunity, increase energy levels, and reduce the risk of chronic diseases, enabling students to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.

Mental Health

The predictability of a daily routine can significantly reduce stress and anxiety levels. By providing a sense of control and accomplishment, routines can improve mood, increase self-esteem, and foster a positive outlook on life.

Time Management and Productivity

Effective daily routines teach students the value of time management. By prioritizing tasks and minimizing distractions, students can enhance their productivity, leaving more time for personal interests and relaxation.

Building Life Skills

The discipline and self-control required to adhere to a daily routine are invaluable life skills. These habits encourage responsibility, independence, and resilience, qualities that are beneficial beyond the classroom and into adulthood.

Enhancing Creativity and Innovation

Contrary to the belief that routines stifle creativity, the structure provided by a routine can actually free up mental space for creative thinking. By automating decision-making for mundane tasks, students can channel their mental energy towards innovative projects and creative pursuits.

A well-structured daily routine is a powerful tool for students, offering a multitude of benefits that extend far beyond academic achievement. It lays the foundation for a disciplined and organized approach to life, cultivates healthy habits, and fosters personal growth and development. By embracing the principles of an effective daily routine, students can navigate the challenges of their academic journey with confidence, balance, and a sense of fulfillment. In the grand tapestry of life, the consistency and structure of a daily routine enable students to paint a vibrant picture of success, health, and happiness.

My Daily Routine Essay

I prepared my daily routine with the help of my mother and father. I will share my daily activities and the experience I gain from them in this essay.

I am a morning person and consider it the most productive time of the entire day. In the morning, nature looks so calm and peaceful. Even my parents and teachers suggested waking up early in the morning. I respected their suggestion and followed it.

So, I get up at 6 a.m., brush my teeth, and wash my face with water. After that, I go for a quick stroll in the park. I consider a morning walk essential for a healthy lifestyle. I walk for almost half an hour and also do some exercise. After doing the morning walk, I come back home and freshen up. It keeps me strong and active for the entire day.

Then I eat my breakfast, and after that, I study Science and Maths in the morning. I consider morning the best time to study, and it helps you memorise the concepts and topics efficiently.

School Time

Around 9 a.m., I get ready to go to school. My father drives me to school, and at around 1 p.m., I get my lunch break after four continuous classes. My school gets over by 4 p.m., and my mother comes to pick me up. Every day, she comes because it takes 20 minutes to reach my home from my school by car. I love going to school and learning new things.

For me, school time is the best time. I get to spend time with my friends and play games during recess. My best friend’s name is Anne; she always stands beside me in good and bad times. I love her so much and will never break my friendship with her. To me, she’s more than just a friend, she’s my family.

Eat and Sleep Routine

When I go to school, I carry my lunch with me. I have my lunch during recess. My mother knows what I love and prepares lunch accordingly. My favourites are pizzas and burgers but my mom doesn’t let me eat from outside. So, she prepares it by herself and I love the food she cooks.

At night I watch TV with my family for some time, and around 10 p.m., I go to bed. When I go to bed, I think about my entire day, and sometimes I read novels or story books.

Holiday Routine

When it’s vacation time, my daily routine differs. I get a lot of spare time. I spend time playing video games, going out with friends and family, and visiting my grandparents. Sometimes I enroll myself in summer vacation camps.

Conclusion of Daily Life Essay

That’s all about my daily routine. I always try to follow this routine. But sometimes, I need to bring some changes to the routine. And when I spend holidays and off days from school, I can’t follow this routine. I think this routine is helping me to use my time efficiently and to complete my study tasks correctly.

Many people struggle with “what” to do daily.

Identifying what to work on is a constant, daily struggle.

As a busy person, you’re faced with a seemingly infinite amount of opportunities.

What do I write next? Do I need to answer the 40 emails in my inbox? Should I pursue a new project that might take my career to the next level?

These are the questions you might wake up to every morning.

The problem is, we don’t have a boss telling use what’s important. Often, we began each day by working on the tasks that seemed urgent, but aren’t critical to the success of the business—like checking email or social media.

So if you’re having trouble coming up with ideas for your daily routine, then here is an example routine that I follow as an entrepreneur.

Table of Contents

Why Does a Daily Routine Help

I used a simple (but effective) productivity hack. I start each day by identifying two to four critical tasks and adding them to my Most Important Tasks (MITs) list.

These are the tasks I work on first thing in the morning. The key here is to use specific metrics so I know whether I’ve accomplished my goals or not.

A great way to start your daily morning routine is by identifying two to four critical tasks and adding them to your Most Important Tasks (MITs) list.

As an example, I’ll create tasks like these:

  • Write 2,000 words of the daily routine book.
  • Record Youtube video for my new Steve Scott Show Channel
  • Complete conversations 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 (each number represents a specific meeting).
  • Create a new squeeze page for the Develop Good Habits blog.

This small daily action has had a positive impact on my business and personal life .

Each day, when I complete these tasks, I know the priority tasks have been accomplished. Even if something unexpected comes up in the afternoon, I know I’ve done the important tasks that drive my business forward.

Morning routine.

Usually, I’ll wake up at around 7 a.m. and immediately start my habit-stacking routine , which includes the following tasks:

  • Making my bed (just like the book says to )
  • Washing my face
  • Drinking a pint of lemon water
  • Preparing and drinking a nutritious smoothie ( like this green juice product .)
  • Reviewing my goals
  • Writing down two to four important tasks for the day

I end this routine by completing a new habit I’m trying to build into my life. For example, I’m currently trying to master the 10-minute declutter habit.

Around 7:30 a.m., I head out for a walk. I always bring my iPhone to use the Stitcher app to listen to a variety of podcasts on topics such as self-publishing, internet marketing, investing and other motivational podcasts .

Also, I keep the Evernote app in a key location on my phone—in case I want to record an idea from one of these podcasts

From 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., I do my first (and sometimes only) block of writing. Usually, I work on a Kindle book, blog post or piece of content. On occasion, I’ll write something for my own personal enjoyment.

From 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., I’ll do a few different things: work on a project, reply to messages from key members of my team or complete a number of small tasks. These activities typically relate to items on my MITs list. The benefit here is that they provide a break from writing, but they also help me improve my business.

(If you're looking for other morning routine options, check out the SAVERS method used in The Miracle Morning .)

Afternoon Routine

From 11 a.m. to noon, I’ll relax a little by eating lunch, reading a nonfiction book for 30 minutes, running a few errands or driving to a nearby Starbucks coffeehouse to get out of the house.

The 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. time-slot is very flexible. Depending on the day (and specific deadlines), I do a number of things: write for a few more hours, clear out my email inbox, work through the steps of a current project, record a few podcast episodes or outline a future idea.

Evening Routine

Six p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (or sometimes 8:30) is exercise time. I either do another walk (usually with my wife) or go for a run. If I’m training for a marathon, sometimes the long run will extend into the evening.

After 8 p.m. is relaxation time. My wife and I will eat dinner, do a little cleaning and basically unwind for the rest of the night.

At 11 p.m., I’ll go to bed and do a little bit of fiction reading. I usually fall asleep around 11:30 p.m.

essay of daily activities

Exercise is an important part of my daily routine. 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (or sometimes 8:30) is exercise time.

If you want to learn about improving the way you spend your evenings, here's our guide on how to create a good evening routine .

Special Considerations

The above was a “normal” day, but there are few weekly events that impact how my workday is structured.

I like to time-block my week so all conversations (podcast interviews, masterminds, collaborative sessions, and networking) happen on Wednesdays. I typically have anywhere from two to six conversations on this day. As an introvert, having regular conversations requires a lot of energy, so I prefer to get them all done in a single day.

Every other Thursday, I drive down to my parents’, which is an hour and a half from my home. Once there, my entire family goes to dinner. Then I spend the night at their place and we see a movie together the next the afternoon.

Finally, my Fridays are very flexible. Sometimes I’ll work the whole day, but on other days I’ll do a few things in the morning, then relax for the rest of the day and most of the weekend.

I’ve read your routine witha bit on envy, because you actually have the freedom to shape your day. I wish I have it…

I won’t describe my routine in details, I would need a book for that. If you have ever visited my Lift profile, you surely noticed I have 30+ daily habits. But because of my past choices I’m slaved to 9 to 5 job. So my habits float around my days. I have preferences, but not a rigid schedule. Even my morning routine is sometimes done in the afternoon (when the morning is disrupted eg. by working till 3 am).

My morning routine is structured very similar to Hal Elrod’s miracle morning encompassing 6 important areas – self analyzing, prayer, focus on my mission, exercises, reading… And I write 1000 words a day. I try to do it as soon as possible in the morning (usually on a train to work).

I certainly do know from seeing you on lift that you follow a kick ass routine encompassing all the important stuff… and you are right, I am blessed with the freedom to accommodate my lifestyle. It woul certainly be a hell of a lot different if I was at a 9-5 job and had kids to deal with in the evening. Different…but I would like to think I would still get the important things done.

Nice routine!

It’s good to see that you’re able to stick to a routine. I’m currently trying to get into a solid routine of my own, so that I can be more organized when writing and carrying out other tasks on my blog.

Thanks for sharing!

THANK YOU SO MUCH for this glimpse into your day and week! I just finished your book S.M.A.R.T. goals and LOVE it. I’ve got a bunch more of your books in my Amazon cart. Love how straight forward you are. Thank you!

Hey Scott, I’m woke up at 4.59 in the morning, and I found 3 morning habits that are truly amazing: 1. 10 minutes for lower back exercices, I’m web designer. 2. after that I have one hour to find new resounces and inspiration. 3. and two hours for improving my website.

Only after 8.30 I start to efectively work for my clients. Great content, Cheers!

Daily Routine

I wake up at 07:30 every day, Make my bed, brush my teeth and have breakfast. start to study at 08:00 a clock, have lunch at Midday and watch TV. Take a shower at 05:00, havê dinner at 07:00 and go to bed at 09:00 a clock. In the weekend I watch Netflix all the day.

thank you,I absolutely do know from seeing you on lift that you take after a kick ass routine enveloping all the vital stuff… and you are correct, I am honored with the opportunity to oblige my way of life. It woul absolutely be one serious parcel extraordinary in the event that I was at a 9-5 work and had children to manage at night. Unique… however I might want to think I would even now complete the imperative things.

thanks I enjoyed reading your journey . you have balanced day to day

Hello This is my first reply and i am bit nervous, but I wanted to know – is it possible to be a mr.perfect? And will Routine help in Making me a mr.perfect?

During the first paragraph of the section titled ‘Evening Routine’, you mention walking with a fiancee. In the very next paragraph you mention eating dinner with a wife. Juggling more than one woman, this must be a truly remarkable routine! I must give it a shot

LOL. Thanks for the heads up. Revising old posts after a few months can lead to some funny mistakes. Juggling two women would be one heck of a daily routine. (and potentially life-threatening) 🙂

That’s a good habit in every morning, same like i had did. But, should all plans written? Couldn’t it just memorized in head?

Physical fitness is a very important aspect of our everyday life. Thanks for sharing these fitness tips with us. Keep up the good work.

I got a vision by reading this post thanks for giving me direction thanks men. I will design my routine perfectly. Thanks

Essay on My Daily Routine in 500 Words

Essay on My Daily Routine in 500 Words

To become successful, everybody should follow a strict schedule or routine. Especially in student life, we need to maintain our time properly. If we fail to maintain time then we can’t make a good result in the examination.

Today I am going to share my daily routine and my experience here. I am a very regular guy who follows a routine. I made that routine almost six months ago with the help of my elder brother.

I make some small edits and changes in the routine due to my own preference.

I consider the morning is the most important part of the day. In the morning, you will find lots of peace and a calm environment. My class teacher suggested me to get up early morning. I followed here that suggestion very seriously and that made my day.

Now I always get up at 5 o’clock in the morning. First of all, I go to the washroom and brush my teeth. I wash my face and wipe the water with a towel. Then I go for a small morning walk. I know the morning walk is very important for good health.

Sometimes, I do exercise too. Most of the time I walk almost 30 minutes and the doctor said that’s enough for me. This little workout keeps me strong for the rest of the day. I come back to home after the walk and get fresh again.

I eat my breakfast then. After eating breakfast, I study Math and Science in the morning time. I think morning is the best time to study.

School Time:

I go to school at 9.30 o’clock in the morning. My father drops me here with his car. I get a break at 1 o’clock after four classes in a row. And finally, I go home at 4 PM with my mom .

She comes to pick me up from school every day. Because it takes almost 20 minutes to go home from school by car. I enjoy school time very much.

Eat and Sleep Routine:

I eat my breakfast and then I eat my lunch in the school break time. I take my lunch with me. My mother is very aware of my food. She always cooks something interesting to me. I love eating Pizza and Burger, but she doesn’t buy me that kind of fast food.

She prefers to cook them for me. I love her cooked Pizza very much. And finally, after reading and watching TV at night at 10 o’clock, I go for my sleep. When I go to bed, I think about my entire day.

Holiday Routine:

When my school is close and I have lots of spare time, my daily routine becomes a bit different. I add time for video games, playing in the field with friends, and spending more time with my cousins.

That’s all about my daily routine. I love to follow this routine and I am very serious about it. I think It’s perfect for me. You can follow my routine too.

Research and Its Importance for Daily Life Essay

Introduction, impact of research, qualities of effective research, role of beliefs and values.

Research plays an important role in science. This is normally done to obtain detailed knowledge about certain aspects before an invention. Scientific research involves the study of diseases and other parameters to invent medicine and vaccines. Therefore, without research, there will be no inventions and therefore a big blow to health. Essentially research fulfils purposes that are designed before the exercise. However, apart from that, research has other implications on reality and daily lives. As a result, the effects of research go beyond the purpose it is meant for. This paper aims to take an analytical look at the concept of research. The paper will begin with a detailed look at the concept of research. Thereafter, the several similarities between different aspects of research will be analyzed. The impact of research on our daily life will also be reviewed.

Research has a lot of impact on the daily functioning of life. First and foremost, research leads to a better life by producing results that can be used to make life better. Especially as far as scientific research is concerned, the invention of vaccines and medicines makes diseases to be less of a threat to society (Calderon & Slavin 2001). Therefore, through the process of research, various methods of handling life’s problems and making the world a better place to live in are facilitated. Secondly, the very process of research affects society in several ways. The impact of the process of research has two dimensions.

The first part is the negative part in which the process of research has certain consequences for society. Unethical practices harm society. Since research is done on people in society, the practices adopted by the researchers have a lot of impacts. Scientific research has left some people with serious illnesses and injuries sometimes; it is like experimenting with people’s life. However, the process of research also has positive effects on society (McGill 1981). This is mainly because of employment opportunities, awareness and education. Research offers vast opportunities to the members of society to learn and obtain understanding about certain issues. At the same time, the participants of the research are remunerated making them earn a living from the same.

Several factors denote effective and valid research. To conduct valid or effective research, therefore, several considerations must be in place. First is the aspect of ethics, for research to be valid it must be conducted ethically. This involves the practices adopted for the research (Cresswell 2003). If the research involves risks, this must be communicated to the participants in advance. At the same time plans must be in place to compensate all those that will be affected in the course of the research. The disbursing of information is necessary before the research. This is important to take care of deception which is rampant in research. In general, proper preparation and education of the participants is the key to successful research. Another crucial requirement is the availability of resources for research.

Several forms of research involve a different processes. As a result, not all forms of research involve vigour. For instance, scientific research on diseases is more demanding than research on recreational issues. This is due to the context of the studies and the parameters involved. For instance, scientific research involves several processes and procedures which tend to take more resources. Recreational issues, on the other hand, are less involved due to the nature of the subject. The research can therefore be conducted with much ease.

Beliefs and values have a lot of impact on the process of research. People’s beliefs, therefore, influence the outcome and process of research. This is due to the relevance that beliefs and values have on people’s perception and philosophy of life. For instance, certain topics are considered sacred and secret in certain societies (Bryant 2005). Their beliefs don’t allow them to discuss certain things. Therefore in the process of collecting information from such people, it becomes very difficult to deal with them. People’s values also play a huge role. Some people are flexible in certain areas than others. Therefore, when conducting research one must understand the values of all participants. This is because their values determine how they approach certain issues. Religion plays a great role in determining the beliefs and values of people.

Research is part and parcel of life, in fact without research life will not be as it is. To live better life research is necessary; this is because research leads to innovation and invention. As far as science is concerned research leads to the invention of vaccines and drugs. Other areas of research also lead to a better understanding of the concepts involved. However, it is not only the results of research that benefit society but also the process of research. Some several opportunities and benefits that come with the process of research. As a result, the role of research in society goes beyond its real purpose. For research to be effective and valid several factors must be considered. Chief among them is the aspect of ethics. Different forms of research involve different forms of approaches. As a result, certain forms of research are more demanding than others. The influence of values and beliefs is notable as far as research is concerned. The paper has discussed the concept of research in detail. The process and impact of research have also been discussed.

IELTS academic task 1 sample essay 18: daily activity distribution per day

Home  »  Academic writing task 1 sample essays & answer  » IELTS academic task 1 sample essay 18: daily activity distribution per day

DailyActivityDistributionPerDay

This pie chart shows the share of time in a day that is generally occupied by each of five activities (these five activities add up to 100 percent). These common activities are sleeping, working, eating, travelling, and relaxing.

By far the greatest portion of the day is consumed by work, at nearly 42 percent. Sleeping occupies the second highest portion of time: exactly one quarter of the day. Travelling accounts for nearly 17 percent of the day’s activity. Eating and relaxing each account for exactly 8.3 percent of daily activity.

In short, work makes up a very large share—although not a majority—of daily activity. At 41.7 percent it takes up more time than the other three waking activities combined, as eating, travelling, and relaxing total only 33.3 percent of daily activity. Added all together, waking activities account for three-fourths of all activity, and sleep accounts for only one-fourth.

Imagine you get to know someone who likes watching comedies at home on weekends, and someone who likes going to nightclubs on Fridays and Saturdays. Daily routine activities in English

An example of a text about daily routine activities.

During the week, I always wake up at 7.30 a.m. The first thing I do is turn off the alarm on my cell phone. After that, I quickly check my social media and my email inbox. Then, I get up, have breakfast, brush my teeth, get dressed, and comb my hair. I start work at 8 a.m. I can wake up at 7.30 a.m. because I work and study from home. When I’m ready to start work, I turn on my laptop. I teach English classes and study all day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. I only stop working and studying to have lunch at about 2 p.m. In the evenings, after finishing everything I have to do, I go running in a park near my house. It’s my time to relax! I love listening to music or podcasts when I’m running. When I come back home, I usually watch some tv shows, have dinner, take a shower, brush my teeth, get into my pajamas, and finally go to bed. I set the alarm for 7.30 a.m. The next day, I start everything again.

On the weekends, however, I don’t work or study. I usually wake up late, talk to my family and my friends, watch tv shows, play video games, and read books. Sometimes, I eat out. I love Japanese food, so I choose a new Japanese restaurant to try the food there. I also love going to the theater, museums, the mall, or to the movies, too. Sometimes, I go out with my friends in the evening. There’s nothing to worry about because I don’t have a specific time to go to bed on Fridays and Saturdays!

A daily routine for kids allows children to be happy, productive, and energetic during their childhood. Any routine is key to success, and it is important to plan things out well before getting to work. Readers are recommended to go through our essay on daily routine for classes 1, 2, and 3 for more ideas on this. It’s crucial to note that routines should be over the top and realistic enough for kids to follow. You don’t want to overwhelm your little ones with complex matters; make a simple schedule that keeps young minds clutter-free. This essay will cover all the points required to write a creative essay on a daily routine topic from a kid’s perspective.

Routines are about consistency, and an excellent daily routine should be easy to follow. Given here are some key points to remember when learning how to write an essay on daily routine:

  • The essay should have an introduction, a body, and a conclusion.
  • It should talk about the timings of the schedule and see if it’s flexible for students
  • A paragraph should be covered on the importance of having a daily routine

A daily routine is essential for kids as it gives a planned direction to their daily activities. Here is what you want to include in your essay for classes 1 and 2:

  • I take notes every day in my diary and make sure I pay attention in the classroom.
  • I wake up at 6 am as part of my daily routine.
  • My routine keeps me motivated and allows me to complete homework faster.
  • Life is so stress-free when I follow a routine since I know what to do.
  • I have a very organised schedule and follow it with complete dedication.
  • I work out daily in the morning as a part of my routine.
  • My daily routine has intervals for nutritious meals in between.
  • I stay mentally sharp and feel relaxed thanks to my daily routine.
  • Bad days are significantly less, and most of the year is filled with good days thanks to this discipline.
  • My overall performance has increased as I follow my schedule with heart.

A routine helps children stay accountable, and on track, and they have something to look forward to every day. Here is a paragraph about daily routine for children:

You can know how well we perform as kids in school, home, and outdoor environments just by chalking out our daily routine. My parents have carved an amazing daily routine for me, which allows me to be free, healthy, and active in a disciplined way. Every day, I wake up at 5 am and brush my teeth. I answer nature’s call and go outside for a morning walk. After exercising in the fresh air, I come back and enjoy a healthy breakfast. I pack my bag and leave for school. My evening routine includes playtime with friends, study hours, dinner, and bedtime.

Understanding how to utilise one’s time effectively is an essential aspect of managing one’s daily routine. Below is an essay for classes 1, 2, and 3 on my daily routine for kids:

I understand the value of time, which is why I follow a daily routine. After a light exercise in the morning and enjoying a healthy meal, I pack my bag and prepare for school. My friends and teachers are people I look forward to meeting every day, and that is because they enrich my life. I follow a very well-made timetable, and I stay true to it. I return home from school in the evening and say my evening prayers. Then I change my uniform and take a rest for an hour. If I’m not sleepy, I might play a board game with my sibling or enjoy 30 minutes of video game time. I go for a stroll or play basketball with my friends in the evening. Then I do my revision and finish my school homework. We finish our dinner early at night, and I spend quality time with my parents. Before going to sleep, I say thanks for having such a lovely family and environment.

A routine isn’t something you think of at the last minute but is well-structured and organised. The purpose of a daily routine is to avoid cramming before tests and ensure you’re always prepared and at your best. Here is a long essay for class 3:

All people, including the ones who go to the office for work or school, should have a daily routine. A routine is a schedule that keeps one organised and energetic and gives you peace of mind. Without a good routine, there would be no law and order but complete chaos. We are living in strange times when kids think that a routine is a discipline when in reality, it is what grants them freedom. Entertainment is a part of every good daily routine, and I watch TV and play video games with my friends sometimes at home.

What I look forward to from my routine is proof of progress. It’s what makes all the hard work worth it. A person with a strict daily routine is under less stress because they know they are getting things done. I understand the importance of a daily routine and realise it will help me succeed.

Importance Of Daily Routine

Without a daily routine, I do not know where I would be. The importance of a daily routine as a student is that it is almost non-negotiable. We make great progress if we don’t take our routine for granted and stick to it. And it’s never too late to start! A sense of discipline is the key.

Morning Routine

A morning routine is essential to have an enthusiastic start to the day. One should wake up early, go for a walk or meditate to energise the body and soul and prepare for a challenging day. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. So, one should never skip it. Make a checklist of all the crucial tasks of the day in the morning and make time to complete it.

School Routine

My school routine is:

  • Attend morning prayer at 8:30 am
  • Work through classes
  • Lunch at 12:30 pm
  • Go to the school library
  • PE classes on Mondays and Wednesdays
  • Go home at 4 pm

Routine For Eating And Sleeping

Here is my routine for eating and sleeping:

  • I always go to bed by 9 pm and not any later.
  • I have oats, a banana, and a glass of orange juice for breakfast at 8 am.
  • Lunch should be pretty basic- dal, rice, meat, ground eggs, and coconut water.
  • Dinner should not go past 7.30 pm. For dinner, I take soup along with a hearty meal.
  • Including fruits and nuts in your diet is essential for a healthy body and mind.

Your child will learn a lot from the essay on daily routine. They will learn how to eat well and sleep on time. Additional soft skills such as spending time with friends, taking responsibility for your actions, etc., are also covered.

So, embrace a progressive routine and enjoy a stress-free, managed lifestyle. Feel free to comment on our daily routine essay below and let us know your thoughts.

250 Words Essay on Outdoor Activities

What are outdoor activities.

Outdoor activities are fun things we do outside in the fresh air. These activities include playing sports like soccer and basketball, going for a walk, riding a bike, or even having a picnic in the park. They are a great way to get out of the house and enjoy nature.

Playing outside is not just fun; it’s also really good for our health. It helps us get fit and stay strong because we move our bodies a lot. Being in the sun gives us vitamin D, which is important for our bones. Also, being outdoors can make us feel happy and calm, taking away stress and worries.

Outdoor Activities and Learning

When we spend time outside, we learn new things without even realizing it. For example, when we play a game that involves teams, we learn about working together and helping each other. If we explore a park, we might discover different plants or animals and learn about nature.

Enjoying Outdoor Activities Safely

It’s important to stay safe while having fun outside. This means wearing the right clothes for the weather, like a hat on a sunny day or a warm jacket if it’s cold. We should also tell someone where we’re going if we’re exploring a new place. And always remember to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

In conclusion, outdoor activities are a great way to have fun, get healthy, and learn new things. So, let’s go outside and enjoy the adventure that awaits!

VP Harris will debate this summer. Here's a peek into her past debate highlights

essay of daily activities

Vice President Harris has accepted a debate invitation to be hosted on CBS on July 23 or Aug. 13, according to the Biden campaign.

Currently, VP Harris is the only cemented debater as the GOP frontrunner Donald Trump has not announced his VP pick, although he is expected to attend the Republican National Convention in July.

Let's debate: Biden and Trump agree to two televised debates, bucking commission

This won't be her first time taking on the big stage, so here's a look back at two of Harris' most notable debate moments.

Harris took on Mike Pence in 2020 vice presidential debate

While an overall respectful debate, Harris and Pence , in the only vice-presidential debate in 2020 moderated by USA Today's Susan Page, covered controversial ground like the COVID pandemic, Amy Coney Barrett's addition to the Supreme Court of the United States, police reform and George Floyd .

Prep for the polls: See who is running for president and compare where they stand on key issues in our Voter Guide

Harris attacked the Trump administration's approach to combatting the COVID pandemic and claimed the administration "knew what was happening, and they didn't tell you" about the "nature of this pandemic."

After the debate, Harris' favorability numbers improved, according to a FiveThirtyEight and Ipsos analysis. Harris and Biden would later win the ticket to the White House.

'There was a little girl in California who was part of the second class to integrate her public schools'

On a 2019 stage crowded with 10 Democratic presidential primary candidates debating in Florida, Harris took the spotlight for her remarks. First, taking charge of a busy debate by saying "America does not want to witness a food fight they want to know how we're going to put food on their table."

Most notably, she made headlines for her fiery message toward Vice President Joe Biden's comments on school bussing, saying his stance personally hurt her.

"There was a little girl in California who was part of the second class to integrate her public schools, and she was bussed to school every day," Harris said during the debate aired on NBC. "And that little girl was me."

Despite Harris dropping out in December, Biden selected her as his running mate, and she would later become the first Black and South Asian American woman VP in the US.

Mark Zuckerberg's daily routine as he turns 40, from regular jiu jitsu and MMA sessions to wearing the same outfit to work

  • Mark Zuckerberg eliminates nonessential choices by doing things like wearing the same outfit daily.
  • The Meta CEO's daily schedule includes jiujitsu and MMA training and one bad habit that many share.
  • The first thing Zuckerberg does when he wakes up each morning at 8 is check his phone.

Insider Today

Between steering Meta through a "year of efficiency," trying to popularize Threads , and engaging in a "will they, won't they" with Elon Musk regarding an MMA cage-fight challenge, Mark Zuckerberg has had a lot on his plate over the last year.

While the Facebook founder dedicates many hours to work, he still spends time traveling, tucking his kids in at night, and even bulking up through his pandemic-era hobbies of jiujitsu and mixed martial arts .

Zuckerberg, who turned 40 years old on May 14th, also famously saves time and brainpower by nixing nonessential choices. Most notably, he wears the same outfit nearly every day .

Here's a look at the typical daily routine of Zuckerberg , based on what he's said in prior interviews:

After waking up about 8 a.m., the Meta CEO immediately checks Facebook, Facebook Messenger, and WhatsApp on his phone, before he even puts in his contacts.

essay of daily activities

The social-media session typically lasts only a few minutes but can take longer depending on current events, Zuckerberg said  in a Facebook Live Q&A.

"The first thing I do is look at my phone. I look at Facebook to see what's going on in the world," he said. "It's a pretty sad situation, to be honest. I have contacts, and I can't see very well. And before I put my contacts in, I often look to see what is going on Facebook."

Zuckerberg acknowledged that checking his phone first thing in the morning was a bad habit.

"You get like a million messages of stuff that come in, and it's usually not good. People reserve the good stuff to tell me in person," he told Joe Rogan in 2022. "It's almost like you wake up and you're punched in the stomach." He added: "Now I need to go reset myself and be able to be productive and not be stressed out about this."

Once he's gotten his morning updates, it's time to work out. Zuckerberg used to go for a workout at least three times a week, often running. Now he stays away from running and instead does jiujitsu and MMA.

essay of daily activities

"I used to run a lot, but the problem with running is you can think a lot," he told Rogan in 2022.

Instead, he started asking himself: "What's a thing that's both super engaging physically but also intellectually, where you can't afford to focus on something else? MMA is the perfect thing because if you stop paying attention for one second, you're going to end up on the bottom."

In June 2023, he said on Lex Fridman's podcast that he did three or four jiu jitsu and MMA sessions weekly, in addition to strength and conditioning work and mobility training.

It's unclear what Zuckerberg eats for breakfast, but he recently said that as part of his training, he aimed for 4,000 calories a day.

essay of daily activities

In July 2023, Zuckerberg told McDonald's on Threads that he wanted "20 nuggets, a quarter pounder, large fries, Oreo McFlurry, apple pie, and maybe some cheeseburgers for later?"

Zuckerberg famously wears the same thing almost every day, with a "work uniform" consisting of jeans, sneakers, and a gray T-shirt.

essay of daily activities

Zuckerberg sticks with the same outfit to reduce the brainpower spent on making minor decisions.

When asked about his wardrobe in 2014, he told an audience: "I really want to clear my life to make it so that I have to make as few decisions as possible about anything except how to best serve this community."

He has, however, shown off a new twist on his famous t-shirt attire after hours, recently rocking a chain necklace while watching an MMA fight.

Zuckerberg said in 2015 that he put in 50 to 60 hours a week at Facebook but thought about the social-media platform constantly.

essay of daily activities

"I spend most of my time thinking about how to connect the world and serve our community better, but a lot of that time isn't in our office or meeting with people or doing what you'd call real work," he told CNN in 2015.

"I take a lot of time just to read and think about things by myself," he added. "If you count the time I'm in the office, it's probably no more than 50 to 60 hours a week. But if you count all the time I'm focused on our mission, that's basically my whole life."

Zuckerberg has preferences for meetings at work.

essay of daily activities

"I actually like trying to have a rule," he told Forbes . "For every hour of meeting that I have, the team sends out the pre-reads in advance. I want to have at least an hour to read the materials and think about it. And then I want to have at least an hour to follow up with different people after the meeting."

As for his approach to work, colleagues have likened Zuckerberg's undivided attention to the Eye of Sauron .

Sauron, the chief antagonist in the "Lord of the Rings" series, is shown in some films as a flaming, disembodied eye , interpreted as a metaphor for evil, ever looming over Middle-earth.

"They're like, 'You have this unending amount of energy to go work on something. And if you point that at any given team, you will just burn them,'" Zuckerberg told Tim Ferriss in 2022.

"I just think the engagement that you get of having, like, an immediate feedback loop around thinking about something and then getting to go talk to the people who are working on this is so much better than going and scheduling a meeting that you'll have three weeks later," he said.

Zuckerberg has various interests outside work.

essay of daily activities

He's tried to learn Mandarin Chinese, he challenged himself in 2015 to read a new book every two weeks, and he's hit the water on an electric surfboard, meme-worthy amounts of sunscreen included .

Zuckerberg has also added cattle farming to his list of hobbies as of late.

essay of daily activities

In January, he said he'd started raising cattle on his Hawaii ranch.

"My goal is to create some of the highest quality beef in the world," he wrote on Instagram. "The cattle are wagyu and angus, and they'll grow up eating macadamia meal and drinking beer that we grow and produce here on the ranch."

Zuckerberg's daily schedule tends to vary more when he travels. He's been known to hit the road to meet with world leaders.

essay of daily activities

He's met with figures including Pope Francis in Rome in 2016, French President Emmanuel Macron in 2018, and former US president Donald Trump in 2019.

Zuckerberg also spends time with his family.

essay of daily activities

He married his longtime girlfriend, Priscilla Chan, in 2012. Zuckerberg and Chan share three daughters , Maxima, August, and Aurelia.

Zuckerberg has a nightly routine with his children.

essay of daily activities

"Sometimes they will read books together. Sometimes they'll code together," Chan said of  Zuckerberg's bedtime routine  with the kids. "Mark has been doing that with August since she turned 3."

Zuckerberg told Fridman in 2022 about a "goodnight things" routine with his daughters .

"I basically go through with Max and Augie: 'What are the things that are most important in life?'" he said.

He points out their health, friends and family, and having something they're looking forward to.

Chan told Forbes that her husband also sang a Jewish prayer, Mi Shebeirach, to his kids and always tucked them in, unless he had a board meeting or was traveling. She added that his work dinners took place after the girls went to sleep.

Zuckerberg sleeps more than most of his fellow tech CEOs.

essay of daily activities

"I don't stay up super late at night," he told Forbes , adding that he aimed for eight hours of sleep a night and used an Oura ring to track his rest.

What a ‘Free Palestine’ Means in Practice

The word “Free” is written on a sheet also emblazoned with the Palestinian flag.

By Bret Stephens

Opinion Columnist

Imagine that the campus protesters got their wish tomorrow: Not just “Cease-fire Now” in Gaza, but the creation of a “Free Palestine.” How free would that future Palestine be?

This isn’t a speculative question. Palestinians have had a measure of self-rule in the West Bank since Yasir Arafat entered Gaza in 1994 . Israel evacuated its settlers and soldiers from the Gaza Strip in 2005. Mahmoud Abbas was elected president of the Palestinian Authority that same year and Hamas won legislative elections the next.

How much freedom have Palestinians enjoyed since then? They and their allies abroad argue they’ve had none because Israel has denied it to them — not just by refusing to accept a Palestinian state, but also through road closings, land expropriations in the West Bank, an economic blockade of Gaza and frequent Israeli incursions into Palestinian areas.

There’s partial truth to this. Israeli settlers have run riot against their Palestinian neighbors . The Israeli government imposes heavy and unequal restrictions on Palestinians, as my colleague Megan Stack has reported in painful detail . The frequent mistreatment of Palestinians at Israeli checkpoints is a long-running disgrace.

At the same time, Israeli leaders have repeatedly offered the creation of a Palestinian state — offers Arafat and Abbas rejected. Charges of an Israeli economic blockade tend to ignore a few facts: Gaza also has a border with Egypt; many goods, including fuel and electricity , flowed from Israel to Gaza up until Oct. 7; much of the international aid given to Gaza to build civilian infrastructure was diverted for Hamas’s tunnels, and Hamas used the territory to start five wars with Israel in 15 years.

But there’s an equally important dimension to Palestinian politics that is purely domestic. When Abbas was elected in 2005, it was for a four-year term. He is now in the 20th year of his four-year term. When Hamas won the 2006 legislative elections, it didn’t just defeat its political rivals in Fatah. It overthrew the Palestinian Authority completely in Gaza after a brief civil war and followed it up with a killing, torture and terror spree that eliminated all political opposition.

Perhaps the absence of Palestinian democracy shouldn’t come as a shock. The regime established by Hamas isn’t merely autocratic. It’s more like the old East Germany, complete with its own version of the Stasi, which spied on, blackmailed and abused its own citizens.

“Hamas leaders, despite claiming to represent the people of Gaza, would not tolerate even a whiff of dissent,” The Times’s Adam Rasgon and Ronen Bergman reported on Monday . “Security officials trailed journalists and people they suspected of immoral behavior. Agents got criticism removed from social media and discussed ways to defame political adversaries. Political protests were viewed as threats to be undermined.”

Even this doesn’t quite capture the extent of Hamas’s cruelty. Consider its treatment of gay Palestinians — a point worth emphasizing since “ Queers for Palestine ” is a sign sometimes seen at anti-Israel marches.

In 2019, the Palestinian Authority banned an L.G.B.T.Q.-rights group’s activities in the West Bank , claiming they are “harmful to the higher values and ideals of Palestinian society.” In 2016, Hamas tortured and killed one of its own commanders, Mahmoud Ishtiwi, on suspicions of “moral turpitude” — code for homosexuality. “Relatives said Mr. Ishtiwi had told them he had been suspended from a ceiling for hours on end, for days in a row,” The Times’s Diaa Hadid and Majd Al Waheidi wrote .

Would an independent Palestinian state, living alongside Israel, improve its internal governance? Not if Hamas took control — which it almost certainly would if it isn’t utterly defeated in the current war. And what if the protesters achieved their larger goal — that is, a Palestine “from the river to the sea”?

We know something about what Hamas intends thanks to the concluding statement of a conference that it held in 2021 about its plans for “liberated” Gaza. Any Jew considered a “fighter” “must be killed”; Jews who flee could either “be left alone” or “prosecuted”; peaceful individuals could either be “integrated or given time to leave.” Finally, “educated Jews” with valuable skills “should not be allowed to leave.”

In other words, what the campus protesters happily envisage as a utopian, post-Zionist “state for all of its citizens” would under Hamas be one in which Jews were killed, exiled, prosecuted, integrated into an Islamist state or pressed into the servitude of a Levantine version of Solzhenitsyn’s First Circle. Those same protesters might rejoin that they don’t want a future to be led by Hamas — but that only raises the question of why they do absolutely nothing to oppose it.

This is not the first generation of Western activists who championed movements that promised liberation in theory and misery and murder in practice: The Khmer Rouge came to power in Cambodia in 1975 to the cheers of even mainstream liberal voices . Mao Zedong, possibly the greatest mass murderer of the past 100 years, never quite lost his cachet on the political left. And magazines like The Nation eulogized Hugo Chávez as a paragon of democracy.

These attitudes are a luxury that people living in safe and free societies can freely indulge. Israelis, whose freedom is made more precious by being less safe, can be forgiven for thinking differently.

Crime and public safety | suspect arrested on 405 freeway near westwood after going wrong way, crashes.

Author

At least two officers were injured, but not seriously.

The chase began when officers were sent to Fourth and Rose avenues in the Venice area about 4:20 a.m. on a report of a disturbance, Los Angeles police said.

The suspect drove away, striking a LAPD patrol car at one point and injuring the two officers, before she headed to the freeway.

The driver appeared to chase a cruiser down a street, and attempted to back the van into another cruiser.

Police tried to stop the van, at times using PIT maneuvers that damaged the vehicle, but the suspect turned in circles and kept going, driving the wrong way on the freeway multiple times and speeding away at nearly 100 mph with smoke coming from under the hood.

At one point, the driver appeared to intentionally steer into an oncoming vehicle, then backed away and kept driving. As she continued driving south in the northbound freeway lanes, she weaved through traffic and eventually slammed into multiple vehicles and a big rig, bringing the pursuit to an end near the Wilshire Boulevard exit.

The woman, wearing a white tank top and appearing to have blood on her face, scrambled out of the van and climbed onto the roof. She then crawled onto the hood of the big rig where she was eventually taken into custody

“Out of nowhere that white van just came careening into us, hit the car in front of me and then slid into my car,” David Hill, who was on the freeway and witnessed the final crash, told reporters. “I could see the driver from my driver’s side window, she was pinned inside the van. I was terrified.

“So I immediately just jumped out of my car and came over to the shoulder, because I didn’t know if that person was armed with a gun, a knife, what they wanted to do. It was pretty terrifying.”
