Fahrenheit 451. In light of current events, one can easily see why Ray Bradbury 's 1953 novel "Fahrenheit 451" felt ripe for a new adaptation. This is a story about a government that censors and bastardizes art it finds troublesome, while making ownership of the original, unexpurgated versions a treasonous crime.

Some scenes has brutal fighting, but no gore. Farenheit 451 has many tense moments, making this film not a good choice for sensitive viewers. 4/10. Book burners. Prismark10 10 June 2018. I found Francois Truffaut's film version of Fahrenheit 451 hard going, not helped by a distant performance from star Oskar Werner. Ramin Bahrani reimagines the Ray Bradbury novel. He sets it in an era of fake news, fake history, disinformation. Propaganda at its best.

It's a symptom most in this society have (at least in the novel version), which showcases the overall problem on a smaller scale. We don't get that in this film. Rather, it just does the typical totalitarian society ala 1984. Look, if you wanted to do a modern adaptation of 1984, then just do a modern fucking adaptation of 1984.
