The Cameron Highlands is an easy 3 hour bus journey from Kuala Lumpur. Known for its beautiful rolling hills, cooler temperatures, and wonderful tea plantations, the Cameron Highlands is a wonderful change of pace from Kuala Lumpur.
When I started researching hotels to stay at during my trip, I quickly realised that the Cameron Highlands Resort was easily the best hotel option. I’m excited to share some of the things that made my stay at the Cameron Highlands Resort so memorable!
The Cameron Highlands Resort is steeped in history and fully embraces the feel of the Cameron Highlands. Built as an extension from a 1930’s cottage, the resort has a very unique colonial feel, with some of the architecture dating all the way back to 1070!
The hotel feels like you are in a very luxurious yet welcoming colonial home, complete with a shared fireplace (where you can enjoy a fire lighting ceremony if it is a special occasion), wood flooring, and beautiful white shutters.
Each of the Resort’s 56 rooms and suites perfectly captures the colonial yet comfortable feel shown in the lobby.
I stayed in a Deluxe room, which is perfect for a couple with its king sized four-poster bed, spacious seating area, and private balcony overlooking the neighbouring golf course (note all rooms have a balcony).
I was so content to make a cup of tea, which was provided in the room, and sit on the balcony reading my book. It was truly an escape from the hustle and bustle of Kuala Lumpur , and was such a relaxing experience to simply breathe in the cool mountain air while looking at the rolling hills in the distance.

Cameron Highlands Activities
If you want a more active experience, the Cameron Highlands Resort has you covered as well. They can help organise all sorts of tours and fun things to do around the Cameron Highlands .
Jim Thompson Mystery Trail
The Resort organises complimentary walking trail tours, where an experienced resident naturalist explains all about the plants, animals, and extensive history of the area. I did the “ Jim Thompson Mystery Trail ” on my first morning, which was a leisurely 45 minute beginner hike through the jungle with our amazing guide Madi.
During our walk Madi made sure to point out several interesting facts, including background information on Jim Thompson who the walk was named after.
Boh Tea Plantation
The next day we were treated to a half day tour with Madi. This tour explored farther from the hotel and included a visit to the Boh tea plantation .
The tea plantation is absolutely massive and includes a look into how the tea is made, from growing, to refining, to drinking. There is a great little restaurant on a balcony overlooking the tea fields, and Madi expertly showed us some of the lesser known vantage points to take some incredible pictures from!
Strawberry Farm and Temples
The rest of our day included a visit to a strawberry farm, where we were given a pair of scissors and a basket to go and pick our own strawberries. These were some of the best tasting strawberries I’ve ever had, straight from the vine!
Finally, we also visited Sam Poh Temple, which is the oldest Buddhist temple in the area. Madi was providing funny stories throughout the entire tour, making the day even more enjoyable!
And if that doesn’t fill your time in the highlands read my post 12 Things To Do In The Cameron Highlands .
The Spa At The Cameron Highlands Resort
After a long day of sightseeing, one of my favourite things to do is relax in the spa. As you would expect from a luxury hotel, the Spa Village at the Cameron Highlands Resort was one of a kind!
I was treated to a “Fresh Strawberry Escapade” experience in their Spa Village, which was truly one of the most unique spa treatments I’ve ever had.
Strawberries are extremely important in the Cameron Highlands, with countless strawberry farms and products, so this “Escapade” involved a tea and strawberry bath, a 1 hour massage, and strawberry scrub wrap which soothes inflammation and softens the skin.
Seriously, if you have never had a relaxing massage and then been covered in strawberries you need to experience it at least once in your life!
The Spa Village offers a wide range of other treatments as well. From traditional massages, to rose petal facials, to other amazing experiences offered only at the Cameron Highlands Resort (like a Chrysanthemum & Avocado Escape or a “Cameron’s Mint” treatment), the Spa Village is the perfect way to relax after a long day with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating areas to chill out.
The Cameron Highlands Resort has a good number of in-house dining options , each with its own character matching its unique location.
I started my day each morning with breakfast at the traditional Dining Room restaurant, which offered a combination of made to order dishes and a self-served buffet. The dining room overlooked the neighbouring golf course and mountains in the distance, and was the perfect setting to plan out my day.
I also had dinner one night in the Dining Room, which transforms into a smart casual restaurant with an excellent selection of colonial, western, and local foods.
Each day the culinary team would go out and get the freshest ingredients, and this attention to detail really pays off because the food was all excellent. Be sure to save room for dessert, because there were some delicious choices, and as we all know calories don’t count on vacation!
Afternoon Tea
Afternoon tea is another important part of the Cameron Highlands, and the Cameron Highlands Resort organised a perfect one in their Jim Thompson Tea Room. The beautifully furnished Tea Room offers a place to sit and relax while enjoying a wide range of pastries, sandwiches, and strawberries with your cup of tea.
This experience reminded me of being back in England, and I really felt miles away from the heat and craziness of the city. A delicious lunch is also served daily in the same Tea Room, which is a perfect spot to kick back and relax while having some traditional dishes.
Steamboat Dinner
Finally, no Cameron Highlands trip is complete without a proper “Steamboat” dinner experience. Luckily you will not have to venture far to find the best Steamboat in the Cameron Highlands, because the Resort has one in their very own “Gonbei” restaurant.
For the unacquainted, a Steamboat dinner involves a pot of boiling soup with different flavors, where you cook your meat and vegetables yourself tableside.
Situated near the guest rooms in the back of the hotel, Gonbei is a half outdoor seating area which lets you fully appreciate the cool night air while eating your meal.
The manager of the restaurant was exceptionally nice, making recommendations on the best combinations of food and explaining how the process worked, from picking our boiling base to adding the right amount of meat and vegetables.
It’s difficult for me to pick my best meal at the Cameron Highlands Resort , but I would have to lean towards Gonbei because the food was not only incredible, but the entire experience was so much fun and memorable!
The Cameron Highlands Resort is the premier resort in the Cameron Highlands, and after my stay, it is easy to see why they have earned their stellar reputation. The setting and amenities are beautiful, the food is outstanding, the activities very well organised, and the customer service is always fast and friendly.
Next time you find yourself in Malaysia, make sure to take a trip to the Cameron Highlands and experience the Cameron Highlands Resort firsthand!

Hi there, it’s Maiii again.
What a shame as I stayed in Malaysia for nearly 2 years but hadn’t visited Cameron Highlands yet. Coincidently, I saw a TikTok video about Cameron Flora Park – a new dreamy blossom garden in Cameron Highlands that looked stunning, so I made up my mind just a few days before the trip and spent 2 days in this beautiful highland.
The first thing that makes me so excited when arrived at Cameron Highlands was… the chilly cold cold weather. OMG, it was the first time in 2 years, I had experienced the so-called winter again. I was touched awwww.
In this post, I’m going to share with you everything I know from my Cameron Highlands trip including how to get there, where to stay, where to eat, attractions, itinerary & cost, etc.

- Cameron Highlands is the greatest tea-producing region in South-East Asia and Malaysia. Although there are many plantations in the valley now, “BOH Tea” is still the most well-known tea plantation and factory in Cameron Highlands.
- The highland is named after William Cameron – a British colonial government geologist and explorer who discovered this mountainous region in 1885. However, the discovery went lost for 40 years and was only known by the public until 1920 when George Maxwell – another British explorer – rediscovered it.
If you don’t drive a car, then the only way to travel to Cameron Highlands is by bus. Tanah Rata is the bus terminal in Cameron Highlands. Here are some common routes to Tanah Rata bus terminal:
From Kuala Lumpur to Cameron Highlands
Bus terminal in KL: Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) – the main long-distance bus terminal in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Duration: 3.5 hours.
Ticket: around RM40
Website to book ticket: CLICK HERE
From Penang to Cameron Highlands
Bus terminal in Penang: Sugai Nibong Bus Terminal
Duration: about 4 hours
Ticket: RM40
From Ipoh to Cameron Highlands
Bus terminal in Ipoh: AmanJaya Bus Terminal
Duration: 2.5 hours
Ticket: RM20-25
Note: The AmanJaya Bus Terminal is pretty far from Ipoh old town (where most of the tourist attractions are located in). To get to the bus terminal, you need to take a grab/taxi or catch a bus at Meden Kidd Bus Station straight to AmanJaya Bus Terminal at RM2.
Here are the most common ways to get around Cameron Highlands:
By car: Driving a car in Cameron Highlands is challenging with many blind turns and narrow roads. If you are confident with your driving skill, go ahead!
By motorbike: Motorbike rental costs around RM30/ 5 hours, 50RM/ 8 hours, RM80/24 hours. You can rent right at your hotel/guesthouse. Amazingly, you won’t need to top up so much petrol. I drove around for less than 5 hours and need to top up only RM1. That’s greattt!!
By tour : A common misunderstanding is that tours are expensive, however, taking a group tour would actually save you time and money as you can share the cost with other tourists as well. In Cameron Highlands, as there are limited ways to get around, joining a tour is also a good option.
You can consider this very affordable tour: Cameron Highland half-day tour which includes round trip transfer and transportation to Mossy Forest, Tea plantation, Butterfly & Insect Farm, and Strawberry Farm (Entrance tickets are not inclusive).
By taxi/grab car: If you don’t want to drive a car, it’s fine, you can take a taxi/grab. If you catch a random taxi, they normally will provide you with a fixed rate to popular attractions such as tea plantations, strawberry farms, etc. For example, a 3-hour drive to 3 places of interest of your choice costs around RM75.
- The traffic is super jam during weekends/holidays, thus, consider driving around by motorbike to skip the long line. In addition, it’s very hard to find car parking on those days.
- For motorbike drivers: Firstly, bring a thick jacket because it’s gonna be freezing. Secondly, a driving license is required if you want to rent a motorbike. And remember to bring the license with you all the way because the police may stop you anywhere.
There are 3 main areas to stay in Cameron Highlands: Tanah Rata and Brinchang.
- Tanah Rata : this is the largest town in Cameron Highlands where you can see a variety of restaurants, accommodations, and banks. The main bus station in Cameron Highlands is also located in this area. Places to visit in Tanah Rata:
Best budget-friendly hotels/ homestays in Tanah Rata: Hillview Inn Cameron Highlands PROMO , Bricks backpackers Hostel
- Brinchang: This is where most of the places of interest are located. Some of the most famous tourist attractions in Brinchang are Time Tunnel Museum, Cameron Flora Park, Sheep Sanctuary, Ee Feng Gu Bee Farm, Butterfly Farm, and Kea Farm market.
Best budget-friendly hotels/homestays in Brinchang: Wan Alyasa Hotel , TULIP HOTEL & APARTMENT
Below are several highly rated restaurants (both halal & non-halal) in Cameron Highlands that you can try.
Best halal restaurants in Cameron Highlands
Ferm Nyonya
This is a Halal Nyonya restaurant nested in Tanah Rata which serves amazingly good food. On my Cameron Highlands trip, I ordered 3 dishes (fried egg, steamed fish, tofu) and all were tasty. Highly recommend the steamed fish with sweet and sour sauce!!!
- Address: 78A-D, Persiaran Camelia 4, Tanah Rata, 39000 Tanah Rata, Pahang
- Opening hours: every day, 11:00–15:30, 17:30–21:30
Highland Steamboat Cheese & Grill
Steamboat & BBQ is probably the best thing to eat to warm up our bodies in the chilly weather of Cameron Highlands. Highland Steamboat Cheese & Grill is where you can enjoy a variety of bbq selections, fresh veggies, seafood, drinks, and fruit cuts, including ice creams at an affordable price of RM35/head & free for kids under 6. If you want a bowl of cheese, you need to pay only RM10 additional.
Besides, there is also an area for kids to play with arcade toys and toy cars. Parents would love this restaurant so much, yah?
However, nothing is too good to be true. Some negative feedback is long waiting time, hard finding parking and the restaurant, and sometimes dirty utensils.
- Address: Persiaran Dayang Endah, Tanah Rata, 39000 Tanah Rata, Pahang
- Opening hours: every day except Tuesday, 17:00–00:00
Best non-halal restaurants in Cameron Highlands
Delicious & Happiness Cameron Highlands Restaurant
This is a Chinese restaurant that received many 5-star reviews from customers. According to some customers’ reviews, the food is amazingly yummy, the food portion is large, and the service is fast despite the full house.
Some highly recommended dishes: Assam fish, pork belly fried with dried chili, sweet and sour pork, crispy Marmite chicken, The herbal pig stomach & ribs, salt egg prawn eggs.
- Address: : no.16, Bawah Jalan Angsana 1, Brinchang point Cameron Higlands, 39100 Brinchang, Pahang
- Opening hours: every day, 12:00–14:30, 18:00–21:30
Singh Chapati
If you are into Indian food, don’t miss this restaurant. It serves delicious authentic North Indian home-cooked food. The portion served is also big and the staffs are very humble and kind. However, do expect long waiting times during peak hours.
Best foods to try here: vegetarian biryani, chicken butter masala, garlic paratha, paneer makhani, and sweet lassi.
- Address: No 1, Brij Court, Tanah Rata, 39000 Tanah Rata, Pahang
- Opening hours: every day, 13:30–14:30, 18:30–21:30
Restaurant Tuan Yuan
In this restaurant, you can order charcoal steamboat – a Chinese traditional hotpot that is very well-known in Cameron Highlands. It is said that the food here was fresh and delicious at a reasonable price. Specifically, the charcoal steamboat costs only RM25/set which includes veggies, noodles, egg, meat, prawn, la la, etc.
Some other dishes to try: salted egg mantis prawn, buttered squid with oats, herbal soup, gui hua mee hoon.
- Address: 6, Jalan Besar, Brinchang, 39100 Brinchang, Pahang
- Opening hours: every day, 12:00 – 21:30
There are way more places to visit in Cameron Highlands, however, in this blog post, I’m just gonna share my reviews about places I visited on my Cameron Highlands trip.
Cameron Flora Park
Xem bài viết này trên Instagram Bài viết do maiii_travelog (@maiii_travelog) chia sẻ
This is a new place to visit in Cameron Highlands that you must visit because it’s just so beautifullll. It’s a huge blossom garden with many kinds of flowers displayed. Girls, this is your heaven, prepare your phone storage and battery well before coming here.
- Address: lot 191, 39010 Brinchang, Pahang
- Opening hours: 09:30–19:00
- Entrance ticket: RM50/adult, RM25/child

Apiary Farm
I like this farm because it is a hybrid of a bee farm and a strawberry farm, therefore, I can save my time to experience 2 things in one place.
Here you can see the big bee hive through glass, very vivid and interesting.
The strawberry garden is also quite big, enough for you to experience and take pictures.
Besides, there are a cactus area and a souvenir shop as well.
- Address: Jalan BOH, Tanah Rata, 39000 Ringlet, Pahang
- Opening hours: 09:00–18:00
- Entrance ticket: free
Ee Feng Gu Bee
It is a renowned bee farm in Cameron Highlands. A plus point is that they painted and decorate the bee farm colorfully which is great to snap photos. However, talking about the experience, I don’t feel like it’s a good place to go as most of the premise is a shophouse and the bee hive display is not as vivid and accessible as the ones in Apiary farm.
- Address: Green Cow, No 75, Batu 43, 39100, Pahang
- Opening hours: 08:00–19:00
Lavender garden
This is another instagrammable floral garden to visit in Cameron Highlands. It’s not that huge compared to Cameron Flora Park but it has different kinds of flowers, especially lavender.
Besides flowers, you can also take pictures with a beautiful castle, and small colorful houses displaying several countries’ flags, and try some ice cream. Their signature ice cream is lavender ice cream, but trust me, its taste is weird, you better try the strawberry flavor.
- Address: 59, Brinchang, 39100 Brinchang, Pahang
- Opening hours: 9:00 – 19:00
- Entrance ticket: RM20/adult, RM10/child
Kuala Terla Tea Plantation
This is one of the major tea plantations in Cameron Highlands where you can enjoy the breathtaking view from the hilltop.
To get to the top, you need to use the transportation service of Cameron Adventurous ATV & Safari. You can either choose ATV or Jeep to get around the tea plantation. The price for ATV is RM80/person and for a jeep ride is RM18/person.
Besides, there is a stop where you can experience an air swing at an additional charge of RM5/person and visit the tea plantation. And the last stop is an in-house safari (which is small and has nothing much to see).
Regarding my experience, I chose the Jeep ride and paid an extra RM5 to take pictures with the air swing. To be fair, the air swing was one of the best experiences that I had in Cameron Highlands. However, the jeep ride is totally not worth it, especially if you travel with the elderly and kids.
Thus if you want to have fun, choose ATV instead.
- Address: Cameron Adventurous 49th miles kuala terla, 39010 Tanah Rata, Pahang
Pasar Malam – Night market
Cameron Highlands is pretty boring at night as there is nothing much to do. Thus, Pasar Malam is, of course, a must-visit attraction in the evening.
There are many small stalls that sell everything from delicious foods, clothes, souvenirs, etc. And don’t forget to try some Chocolate Strawberry, it’s over my expectation.
Note: Do expect heavy traffic on the way to Pasar Malam, especially during weekends and holidays. If you want to skip the line, drive a motorbike. Otherwise, it might take you an hour to get there and it’s pretty hard to find car parking as well. Too scary… I remember…
- Address: 12, Jalan Golden Hills 1, Brinchang, 39000 Brinchang, Pahang
- Opening hours: Friday & Saturday: 17:00–23:00
Time tunnel museum
This museum is way more interesting than I expected. It provides information about Malaysia during the war, the history of Cameron Highlands, and displays all the antiques which are the childhood memories of many Malaysian. If you are a local Malaysian, you will find it so familiar with all the toys, old TV, old barbershop displays, etc.
Behind this museum is a garden where you can pick strawberries, feed rabbits, etc.
- Address: Cameron Highland, 39000 Brinchang, Pahang
- Entrance ticket: RM8/adult, RM6/child
Sheep sanctuary
You wanna feed sheep and take pictures with them? Let’s go to the Sheep sanctuary. Personally, I’m super excited about this attraction because that was the first time I saw sheep haha.
You will be provided with a small box of food to feed the sheep after purchasing entrance tickets. If you still want to feed them, you can buy more at the vending machine, price is RM4/box and RM10/3 boxes.
- Address: Pasar Malam Kea Farm, Brinchang, 39100 Brinchang, Pahang
- Opening hours: 09:00–17:30
- Entrance ticket: RM8/adult, RM5/child
- Website to book tickets: CLICK HERE
This is the itinerary of my Cameron Highlands trip :
- We arrived at Cameron Highlands at 1 pm.
- We visited Apiary Farm where I could see a bee farm and strawberry farm at the same time
- Had lunch at Ferm Nyonya restaurant.
- Check-in hotel: Father’s guesthouse and took rest.
- 4 pm, we rented a motorbike from our hotel to get around
- We headed to Time Tunnel Museum and spent about 40 minutes there.
- After that, we dropped by another bee farm called Ee Feng Gu Bee Farm . There is nothing much to see here.
- We had dinner at Cameron Organic Produce Steamboat restaurant. The steamboat was bland and the meat is not fresh, veggie is claimed to be organic. Overall, not recommended!
- Then we drove to Pasar Malam – a night market. It was full of people here. There were many foods to buy as well, highly recommend the chocolate strawberry.
- Back to the hotel and rest.
- We had breakfast in the food court nearby Sheep Sanctuary.
- Visited Sheep sanctuary . This one was quite fun and interesting.
- Then we went to Flora Park Parking and waited for the truck to take us to Cameron Flora Park. The total visiting time was about 1 hour.
- We headed to Kuala Terla Tea Plantation to experience a Jeep ride and air swing.
- After that, we just drove back to Kuala Lumpur directly.
Below is the cost breakdown of my 2D1N trip to Cameron Highlands:
Accommodation
I stayed at Father’s guesthouse and it cost RM130/night/double room. This is a kind of medium-budget accommodation. For a 4-5 star hotel, the price for a double room is from RM190/night/ double room
Food for 2 people
- Lunch at Ferm Nyonya restaurant: RM88.50
- Steamboat at Cameron Organic Product steamboat restaurant: RM60 (it’s not nice at all, so I didn’t recommend it above)
- Chocolate Strawberry at night market: around RM6/cup
- Icecream at Lavender garden: RM8/cone
- Drink and cake at Cameron Flora Park: 41RM
Attractions tickets
- Cameron Flora Park: RM50/head
- Lavender garden: RM20/head
- Time tunnel museum: RM8/head
- ATV adventurous & Safari: Jeep ride- RM18/head, air swing: RM5/head
- Sheep sanctuary: RM8/head
As mentioned above, I went to Cameron Highlands for only 2 days 1 night, and surely it was not enough to fully explore it. There are much more places to visit such as the Mossy forest, Strawberry farms, Cactus garden, etc. However, I skipped it all and tried to find places where I can do several experiences at once. And to be honest, we were so rushed during our trip, it was like a marathon, trying to visit as quickly as possible.
Therefore, I would suggest visiting Cameron Highlands for at least 3 days or even 4 days.
- There are many attractions in Cameron Highlands , but some offer the same thing as another.
For example, the most famous thing to do in Cameron Highlands is to pick strawberries. To be honest, most of the attractions in Cameron Highlands offer this experience (such as the Time tunnel, Lavender garden, Apiary farm, etc.).
Thus, you don’t need to go to the strawberry farm to pick strawberries but can do it anywhere else, combined with other activities to save time.
Here are some attractions that provide multiple activities:
Apiary Farm: bee farm, strawberry garden cactus garden.
Time tunnel museum: museum, strawberry farm (behind it).
Lavender garden: flower garden, strawberry garden.
- If you drive a car, bear in mind that there are many blind turns and it will be quite dizzy while driving.
- As the weather in Cameron Highlands is pretty cold all year round, especially after sunset, you should always bring a jacket with you.
Above is my Cameron Highland travel guide which has every information about Cameron Highlands such as how to get there, where to stay, where to eat, places to visit, itinerary & cost etc. Hope you find this post helpful and share your experience below.
1. When is strawberry season in Cameron Highlands?
The strawberry season in Cameron Highlands is from May to August. During this time, visitors are permitted to enter the farm and personally pick their own strawberries.
2. What to buy in Cameron Highlands?
One thing in Cameron Highlands that every tourist wants to buy is, needless to say, strawberries. Besides strawberries, this destination is also famous for fresh veggies, tea, honey and flowers. You can find those things in most of the attractions in Cameron Highlands.

Situated at an elevation of 5,000 ft (1,500 m) above sea level, the highland is notable for being the highest point in Malaysia that can be reached by road.

Cameron Highlands
Cameron Highlands is a a cool highland plateau at an altitude of 1,448 meters of Malaysia, like Sapa or Dalat in Vietnam. So, before coming here, you should prepare warm clothes because it is quite cold. Especially, it is often rainy in the afternoon, so pay attention to go out.
On Wikipedia, there are statistics on the temperature in the Cameron Highlands, see here .
Cameron Highlands travel blog: How to get to Cameron Highlands?
Surely, you have to go to Kuala Lumpur first, so I will skip the step from Hanoi to KL by plane. (I flown with AirAsia, very cheap).
There is only one way to get to Cameron Highlands from Kuala Lumpur, which is to go to KL Sentral bus station to buy tickets to Cameron Highlands. Ticket price: 35RM/person. There are a lot of trips a day, so don’t worry, but because the bus passing high pass, it’s best to go during the day.
Cameron Highlands travel guide: Where to stay?
In Cameron Highlands there are 2 towns to choose an accommodation:
Brinchang town is far away but closer to the tourist spots. This town is quiet and less bustling at night.
It’s also around 11pm, it’s all closed, there’s no bar or pub here, in the morning, there’s still no breakfast restaurants at 9am. So, staying here is suitable for those who like to relax and be quiet.

- Cameron Highlands Resort ( Agoda.com , Booking.com )
- Little Rabbit Apartments ( Agoda.com , Booking.com )
Check out more hotels in Brinchang on Agoda.com or Booking.com .
Tanah Rata is the town for you if you like crowds. Western tourists often stay in Tanah than others, because there is a small pub in town, the restaurants close around 11pm, but the food is more diverse.
I recommend staying in Tanah Rata for fun, renting a motorbike is also convenient (Brinchang doesn’t has motorbike rental service).

Cameron Highland trip blog: Getting around Cameron Highlands
Taxis charge by hour and must be rented for a minimum of 3 hours (25RM/h). If you hire a taxi to travel back and forth of 2 towns, the price is very expensive and the drivers are quite “fancy”. In general, taking taxi here is a bit difficult to travel :))
Rent a motorbike
This is the best way I suggest you. Although there is a bit of traffic matter when they drive on the left lane, but having a motorbike will be extremely active, go wherever you like. It’s cheaper than rent a taxi. Motorcycles here are mostly small scooters.
Half day rental is 50RM. In my opinion, you should rent for the whole day (RM80), because you can even hang out at night if you want. If you stay in Bringchan, there’s no taxi from Tanah Rata at night.
Hitch hiking
This is a very prominent feature in Cameron Highlands. The people here are very kind, ready to give you a ride if they see a convenience. This way, it won’t cost you money, but you can hear they introduce about Cameron Highlands along the way.
But it’s not like standing in the road and wave your hand, everyone will give you a ride, it depends on luck. So, be patient, it takes a while to wait. A very good experience, you should try it too.
Cameron Highland review blog: When should you go to Cameron Highlands?
The best time is still from February to May. I think it’s the end of August and the beginning of September. Because at that time in Vietnam, it is hot, it will be cool here, very comfortable.
Currency exchange, money denominations in Malaysia
In Malaysia, people use Ringit currency (RM). Rates vary from time to time. In May 2022 the exchange rate is USD1 = RM4.40.
I usually exchange to USD first and then go to the airport to exchange at their country’s banks.
Cameron Highlands travel blog: Where to go and what to do in Cameron Highlands
You should spend 2 days to explore Cameron Highlands. Here are some fun places to explore in Cameron Highlands.
Gunung Brinchang (Mount Batu Brinchang)
Gunung Brinchang is a mountain, on which is Mossy forest. To get here, you can buy a tour to be picked up by the car or hike up if you like trekking, reach the top, you will see a path to visit the Mossy forest. In my opinion, you should buy a tour to go quickly, walking uphill was very tired. I tried to trek, but when I climbed halfway and couldn’t breathe and had to ask hitch hiking for a ride.
This spot takes half a day to go, until 1pm then get down for lunch. On the way here, you can visit the very beautiful BOH Tea plantation (tea rolling hills), and enjoy sipping tea here.
Mossy Forest
This is the oldest forest in Cameron Highlands, with large zigzag old trees, covered with layers of moss. All create an indescribable ghostly look. Note that although the forest has been bridged with a long wooden path, it is very convenient to go, but there are some sections of the dirt road that are very slippery and easy to slip, so avoid wearing high-heeled, slippery sandals or shoes to ensure safety. You also have to walking a lot, so remember to bring drink water.
Farms and strawberry gardens
At the foot of the mountain and on the way there will be farms:
Strawberry Farm: There are many strawberry gardens, you can go to the Red Strawberry farm.
Buttefly Farm: Entrance fee of 7RM per person, nothing special. If you curious let come in to know, but in my opinion, don’t go in, there are only a few butterflies, with other animals like a miniature zoo.
Cactus Valley
Cameron Lavender: Go through the entrance to Brinchang about 3km – very beautiful, should go – entrance ticket 10RM.
Other farms: Rose Center, Honey Farm, …
In general, the farms are just like each other, it’s strange for newcomers, but I see they have nothing beautiful.
BOH Tea Plantation
There are 3 BOH Tea plantations in Cameron Highlands (Tea hills). Some blogs say that you should go to BOH Tea because it’s very beautiful, but when I do search on Google, it shows up to 3 results of the same name, so I don’t know which blog they mentioned. I stayed in Cameron Highlands for few days, so I went to all 3 and found the one in Brinchang and the one on the way to Tanah Rata town to be the most beautiful, the other farthest one doesn’t need to go.
Other places you can go
There are a few hotels and resorts with beautiful designs to see and take pictures: Lake house, Smoke House.
Night market in Cameron Highland: This is a feature of the highland here. But it only opens on weekend nights, when I went during the week, I didn’t have the opportunity to experience shopping at the market.
Cameron Highland review blog: What to eat in Cameron Highlands
There are quite a lot of food here, mostly Indian and Chinese food, you can try as you like.
Unlike other spots in Malaysia, I suggest you try a few dishes: Tom Yum and Steamboat. Steamboat is like hot pot in Vietnam but you should try it, it’s delicious.
Beer in Malaysia is very expensive, so going to bar, pub here to drink beer is quite expensive, spent quite much.
In addition, because Cameron Highlands is in the highlands, food is also much more expensive. Average cost is about 8~20RM/person/serving.
Street food in Tanah Rata town is quite delectable, you should try it out. Just ask local people where to eat Malay food and they will tell you, it’s easy to find.

The ultimate guide to visiting the cameron highlands.
Visiting the Cameron Highlands is an absolute must if you’re planning a trip to Malaysia . The area is only a 3-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur, but when you arrive you feel like you’ve been transported to a completely different country (and climate!).
The area boasts beautiful green rolling hills as far as the eye can see, full of mossy forests and tea plantations. There are times when it’s almost reminiscent of rural England with its gorgeous countryside views.
The local towns have been heavily influenced by the British. As soon as you arrive in the area, it’s hard not to notice the unique architecture. Many of the cafes in the main town, Tanah Rata, serve scones or afternoon tea, with some hotels even having British-themed menus.
Whether you’re a backpacker or luxury traveller, the Cameron Highlands should be on everyone’s Malaysia itinerary .
In the below guide, I’ve shared everything you need to know about visiting the Highlands. This includes where to stay, how to get there, the best things to do in the Cameron Highlands and where to eat.
Table of Contents
How to get to the Cameron Highlands
The Cameron Highlands are 3 hours north of Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia’s capital city. They are in a convenient location for those travelling north to Penang or south to the capital.
The Cameron Highlands are well connected to other major tourist destinations in Malaysia including Ipoh and Penang.
Getting to the Cameron Highlands by bus
If you’re on a budget, the easiest way to get to the Cameron Highlands is by bus. There are several bus companies which operate busses from Kuala Lumpur and other major areas to Tanah Rata, the main town in the Cameron Highlands.
The best way to book busses in Malaysia is by using 12Go Asia . 12Go works with most transport operators in Malaysia including busses and boats. It’s the best way to look at the easiest, fastest and cheapest way of getting around Malaysia.
When booking your bus to the Cameron Highlands, select the town of Tanah Rata as the destination. This is the biggest town in the area and where you’ll find most of the hotels and hostels.
The bus from Kuala Lumpur to the Cameron Highlands takes just under four hours. They are air conditioned and generally quite comfortable. The roads into the Cameron Highlands are steep and windy, so I’d suggest taking motion sickness tablets if you need to.
Getting to the Cameron Highlands by private transfer
If you’re not keen on getting the bus, there is the option to book a private transfer to the Cameron Highlands .
It’s worth noting there are limited options for this and it well set you back cost wise.
If you’re travelling from Taman Negara, your accommodation can arrange you a shared shuttle.
Weather in the Cameron Highlands
Being at almost 1500m (5000ft) above sea level, the climate in the Cameron Highlands is much cooler than elsewhere in the country. This makes the Cameron Highlands a unique destination to visit in Malaysia.
The daytime temperature rarely goes above 25 degrees. At nighttime, the temperature often drops below 18 degrees. It was the only place in Malaysia where I needed some warmer clothes for the evening.
The cooler weather makes it perfect for hiking and exploring. However, it tends to rain a lot in the Cameron Highlands. With this in mind, make sure to carry a waterproof jacket.
In terms of the best time of year to visit the Cameron Highlands, there’s not really a clear answer. Ultimately, the area can be visited all year round. The dry season tends to be February to June, so if you want to avoid muddy hiking trails, these months are the best option.
How long to spend in the Cameron Highlands
Choosing how long to spend in the Cameron Highlands depends on what you want to do. For most, two nights is the best amount of time.
Two nights in the Cameron Highlands gives you a full day to hit one of the hiking trails or visit a local tea plantation.
If you’re keen to hike, see the local area and visit a plantation, you’ll likely need three nights in the Cameron Highlands.
This gives you a full day to do a tour around the area and an extra day to go hiking. I spent three nights in the Cameron Highlands and it was the perfect amount of time.
For more information on planning your perfect itinerary, check out my guide to backpacking in Malaysia .
Where to stay in the Cameron Highlands
Choosing an accommodation in the Cameron Highlands can be a bit of a headache. There’s an array of hotels, hostels and luxury resorts spread out around the area.
The two main towns with most of the accommodation options are Tanah Rata and Brinchang .
For backpackers or those who want to get around easily, I’d suggest staying in the town of Tanah Rata. It’s the perfect place to base yourself. The town’s main street is filled with restaurants serving delicious food and it’s easy to walk around. This is also where the main bus station is.
Brinchang is close-by, but has less to offer and definitely isn’t as nice as its neighbour, Tanah Rata. I also found it tricky to get between the two towns and had to wait 30-minutes for a taxi.
There are plenty of accommodation choices in Tanah Rata for all budgets. Budget Options The main hostels in the Cameron Highlands in Tanah Rata are Bricks, Sleepbox and Traveller Bunker. I stayed in Bricks Hostel and it was nice enough. For a more social experience, I’d consider Traveller Bunker. I met people staying in this hostel and it seemed much more social. Luxury With its beautiful countryside, the Cameron Highlands is the perfect place to splurge and book a countryside retreat. One of the most luxurious resorts in the Cameron Highlands is the Lakehouse Cameron Highlands. The Tudor-style building offers guests a relaxing stay away from the hustle and bustle.
I use Booking.com when selecting any of my accommodations around the world.
The best things to do in the Cameron Highlands
There is no shortage of things to do in the Cameron Highlands. It’s an outdoor lovers paradise with its rolling hills, ancient rainforests, hiking trails and tea plantations.
Here are a few of my favourite things to do in the Cameron Highlands:
Visit a tea plantation
The Cameron Highlands is famous for its tea, and no trip would be complete without visiting a tea plantation here. You’ll need to leave the main town in order to visit one, and can easily reach them by taxi or as part of a day tour.
The most famous is the Boh Sungei Balas Tea Center. Situated in the most stunning setting with gorgeous 360-degree views, Boh attracts the crowds. It’s free to enter and there is a cafe/restaurant where you can buy a cup of their well-loved tea.
Despite it being the busiest tea plantation in the area, I’d highly recommend visiting here. The views are some of the best we saw in Malaysia. If you book a day trip, it will likely include a stop here.
If you want to escape the crowds, another option is the Kuala Terla plantation. Here, you can opt to go for an ATV ride through the plantations.
Visit the Mossy Forest
The enchanting Mossy Forest is around a 40-minute drive from Tanah Rata. There are plenty of tours available that include a stop here as part of the itinerary.
The Mossy Forest is one of the oldest forests in the country (and some believe the world). Many of the majestic trees are covered from top to bottom with green moss, hence the name. It creates a very eerie, almost fairytale setting, and it’s my favourite thing I did in the Cameron Highlands.
Once you arrive there is the option to do a short, well-maintained walk into the forest and up to a stunning viewpoint showing off views of the forest as far as the eye can see. The walk took us around 15 minutes each way.
Although a bit further away from the main town, a stop here is a must, especially if you love nature.
The entrance fee at the time of visiting was RM30 for adults.
Consider a day tour which includes a visit to Mossy Forest and the Boh Tea Plantation .
Hiking in the Cameron Highlands
There are various beautiful hiking trails in the Cameron Highlands. The main trails are numbered 1 through 14. Each trail is of varying difficulty meaning there is a hiking trail for everyone.
Due to rain and landslides, it’s not uncommon for the trails to be closed. Your accommodation will be able to tell you what the status is when you visit.
Unfortunately, when I visited, the rain meant only trail 6 was open. I went in the rainy season in January, so if you want to hike it might be best to avoid this time.
If you’re planning to hike in the Cameron Highlands, research the hikes ahead of time and decide which is best for you.
Walk to Robinson Falls
If you want a short and more local walk, a stroll to Robinson Falls is an option. It’s by no means the most spectacular waterfall you’ll ever see, but it’s worth a visit if you have the time.
The concrete path there is relatively well maintained, but wear sensible shoes are there were some slipperyy parts.
Visit a local market
With its unique climate, the Cameron Highlands are the perfect spot for growing a variety of fresh produce including strawberries and a range of vegetables.
There are several food markets dotted around the area which give you the chance to view and buy some of the locally grown products (especially strawberries).
I visited Kea Farm Market which is a well-known market selling a range of produce. The market is located just outside of Brinchang, so you’ll need to get a taxi from Tanah Rata.
I bought some of the local strawberries for a fraction of the cost than in the UK and they were delicious.
Have afternoon tea
With the Brits having a heavy influence on the area, afternoon tea is a popular pastime in the Cameron Highlands. At the least, most restaurants or cafes will sell scones with jam (and sometimes whipped cream – yes I know, WHIPPED cream, not clotted, the Brit in me nearly imploded).
A quick walk down the main street and you will see lots of advertisements for the “best afternoon tea in town” so you can choose your spot.
Many of the hotels on the outside of the towns offer luxury afternoon teas.
Go strawberry picking
There are endless strawberry farms in the Cameron Highlands. If you visit at the right time of year, you’ll be able to go strawberry picking .
Many farms grow strawberries all year round, but most will only offer strawberry picking in the peak season between May and August when the strawberries are at their best.
I was there in January and nowhere was offering the activity, but if I ever return it will definitely be something I do.
Day tours in the Cameron Highlands
The Cameron Highlands area is full of exciting activities, ancient forests and stunning countryside. To access most of these attractions, you’ll need to use a car. Taxi costs can add up, so it’s worth looking at a day tour to try and cut down on costs.
There are many tour providers in the area offering varying half-day and full-day tours allowing you to easily visit multiple attractions.
These are often sold through the hostels and hotels and can be booked last minute. There is normally either a half-day or full-day option.
I chose the half-day tour and visited:
- A viewpoint over the tea plantations
- The Mossy Forest including a hike through the main path
- Boh Tea Plantation
The full day tour also included a visit to a strawberry and butterfly farm. Due to the time of year I visited, I decided this wasn’t worth the extra money.
There are also tours available to varying tea plantations, extended jungle treks and to local villages. You can book these on Klook which tends to be the best agent in that part of the world.
If you’d rather not do a tour and want to travel at your own pace, you can speak to your accommodation about booking a taxi or even hiring a local driver to take you around for the day.
Where to eat in the Cameron Highlands
There is no shortage of food options in the Cameron Highlands. Tanah Rata has many restaurants including Indian, Malaysian and Western (there’s even a Starbucks).
One of my favourite restaurants in the Cameron Highlands was an Indian restaurant called Highlands Spice. It served authentic Indian food and is some of the best I have ever eaten.
If you’re after somewhere with nightlife, fair warning, this is not the Cameron Highlands. There are one or two bars dotted around, but people don’t come here to party.
Is visiting the Cameron Highlands worth it?
Absolutely! A trip to the Cameron Highlands is a must on any visit to Malaysia. It’s such a unique destination in Malaysia and allows you to see another side to the country.
With its mossy ancient rainforests, endless hiking trails and British influence, it’s the perfect place to go spend a few days exploring and relaxing.

Cameron Highlands
Cameron Highlands , Malaysia
Cameron Highlands in Pahang is the biggest and arguably the best highland resort in Malaysia. Popular amongst both locals and tourists, it provides a cool respite from the sweltering heat of the lowlands. The sprawling lush valleys about the size Singapore has much to offer nature lovers. My family stayed 2 nights in Cameron Highlands and did a full day local tour of the beautiful countryside. We visited tea plantations , strawberry farms , Rose Valley , Lavender Garden , Bee and Butterfly farms, the Brinchang night market and more. Here are 10 places to visit or things to do in Cameron Highlands .
1. Tea Plantations
Visiting a tea plantation is the top thing to do in Cameron Highlands . We visited the Sungai Palas Boh Tea Plantation which offered an educational tour of the tea factory.
No visit to a tea plantation is complete without sipping a cup of tea while enjoying the view of the plantation. We had a lovely English-style breakfast with aromatic tea, scones and pastries at the Boh Tea Centre at Sungai Palas.
Here is a better view of the stunning vistas of rolling hills where the tea plantations are tendered. Did you know that Cameron Highlands got its name from a British surveyor called William Cameron back in the 1800s?
It is also worth exploring the scenery just outside the Boh Tea Centre .
There was another Boh Tea plantation in Cameron Highlands which was further away from other attractions and where you have to traverse a windy road to get there. Definitely not suitable for my kids who would throw up or get a headache. Apart from Boh Tea, there were two other tea plantations in Cameron Highlands – Cameron Valley and Bharat tea plantations . Both had tea cafés overlooking the plantation and stores to buy tea as souvenirs. I especially liked the strawberry tea from the Cameron Valley tea plantation , pictured below. Cameron Valley tea plantation was the easiest to get to, although the carpark was rather small.
2. Strawberry Farms
3. Rose Valley
Located at Kea Farm, a short distance from the Sungei Palas Tea Plantation , the Rose Valley is filled with more than 100 variety of roses and other types of flowers. The Rose Valley is perched on slopes along a small hill. Flower lovers would enjoy the Rose Valley .
4. Cameron Lavender Garden
More flowers bloomed at the Cameron Lavender Garden . As we entered the garden, we saw a sea of purple, red and yellow flowers sheltered under a large canopy.
On the higher slopes, there were rows and rows of gerberas in all sorts of colours. Visitors could also pick strawberries there.
5. Vegetable Farms
Our local day tour also brought us to visit the Watercress Valley , and a local vegetable farm that grew tomatoes and cauliflowers.
6. Bee and Butterfly Farms
Apart from flowers and vegetables, Cameron Highlands also has Bee Farms and the Butterfly Farms . See more pictures of the beautiful butterflies and bees here – Cameron Highlands Bee and Butterfly Farm .
7. Cameron Highlands Time Tunnel
The Cameron Highlands Time Tunnel is a local museum with lots of vintage items and memorabilia. At first, I didn’t think we would enjoy the Time Tunnel much, but to my surprise it was actually quite educational for the kids. My trio kept asking “What’s this?”, “How does it work?” or “Why?” There were also things that I haven’t seen for ages and have totally forgotten about them, like the old light switches. The Time Tunnel even had a photo of Singapore’s father and son PM,
8. Sunrise on Gunung Brinchang & Mossy Forest
Something really worth doing while in Cameron Highlands is waking up at around 4.30am, drive up to the top of Gunung Brinchang , climb up a watch tower with the cool crisp wind blowing at your face, and wait patiently while the sun reveals itself and the spectacular scenery. Read more .
9. Brinchang Night Market (Pasar Malam)
We went to the Brinchang night market (locally known as “Pasar malam”) near Star Regency Hotel. It normally opens on Fridays and Saturdays but during Malaysian school holidays, it opens every night. Local produce like strawberries, vegetables, and fruits were sold in abundance at the night market. There were also many stores selling vegetable fritters, crab fritters and prawn fritters. One thing to try was the corn with the white kernels. The white corns could be eaten raw and surprisingly, it was sweet! Apart from food, there were lots of value-for-money stuff and souvenirs on sale. If you are driving, you need to go there early to find parking.
10. Enjoy the local delights
Apart from the food at the Brinchang night market , steamboat restaurants seem to be quite a hit in Cameron Highlands . We only ate at the steamboat restaurant once, though. Most of the time, we ate the local food fare there. Our favourite was Nolina food. The food was cheap and good. Try the blue nasi lemak with sambal chicken. Nolina Food was just 5 minutes from Copthorne Hotel at the bend towards the direction of Ipoh.
Tips on visiting Cameron Highlands
- If you are coming from the North-South highway, drive up from Ipoh instead of from Tapah. The road from Ipoh is less windy than the one from Tapah.
- Don’t plan on visiting the Sungai Palas Tea Plantation on Monday because they are closed.
- Do consider joining local tours, especially to the Boh tea plantations and Gunung Brinchang, if you are not comfortable driving or if you don’t want to risk damaging your car. The road was too narrow for bi-directional traffic. Other attractions were easier to drive to. I joined the local tour CS Travel and Tours which I booked from the Hotel travel desk www.cstravel.com.my .
- Don’t plan on going strawberry picking in the afternoon, especially after other tour buses have come and gone. There won’t be much red and juicy strawberries to pick. Try going for one which only opens on certain days a week (e.g. Thursday-Sunday). Go on the first day and first hour of the opening to get the best pick of strawberries. I went to the one just outside Copthorne Hotel on Thursday morning when they just opened for the day and got the best pick of plump and juicy strawberries.
- Copthorne Hotel (formerly known as Equatorial Hotel) – It has 2 and 3 bedrooms with terrific view of the sunrise
- Strawberry Park Resort – It has family suites for up to 6 guests
- Other Cameron Highlands accommodations
We also went to enjoy the hot springs at the Lost World of Tambun, Ipoh, Malaysia before going to Cameron Highlands.

I really miss the cool weather of Cameron and having tea and scones at the Sungai Palas Tea House
Did you guys join a local tour or hired a driver for the day to cover all these places?
If its a local tour, what is the name of the travel agency?
Hi HJ, We joined a local agricultural tour which we booked through the Hotel Travel Desk. The tour company is called CS Travel and Tours and their website is http://www.cstravel.com.my . They have different types of tours around Cameron Highlands, with some more adventurous than others.
Thanks for the wonderful tips!
1. May I know did you join a full or half day tour with CS Travel and Tours?
2. If it’s half day, what time did it start and end?
3. Do they pick you up from your hotel? If yes, which hotel? Or is there a specific meeting place you have to be at?
I’m planning to visit Cameron Highlands later this year, trying to see if I can join a local half day tour in the morning. Thanks for your help!
Hi Cheryl, I booked two back-to-back half-day tours with CS Travel with our own lunch in between. The morning tour starts at around 8.30am and ends around 12-1pm. the afternoon tour starts at 2.00pm. The tour guide picked us up from our hotel. At that time the hotel was known as Equatorial Hotel, now it is called Copthorne Hotel.
May I know does the Pasar Malam in Cameron Highland open on Sunday also ? This is our first time to visit Cameron and we want to avoid the crowd during weekend and school holiday. Does Sunday too crowded and does road will have heavy traffic jam ?
We plan to visit on 28-Jun-15(Sun) to 30-Jun-15(Tue) and we around 18 ppl (13 adults and 5 small kids). Is there any recommended apartment or homestay or resort for such a big family ?
Hi Marcus. The Pasar malam only opens on Fridays and Saturdays. There are accommodations for 13 people, however, now they are already booked. You can find accommodate your group in two 3-bedroom apartments. Check out the available listings here – Cameron Highlands.
Hi! I have read the comments and also checked the CS Travel and Tours website. May I ask if a half day tour would be enough? Our stay is limited for one day and we want to go back to Kuala Lumpur by evening. Could you help us suggest alternatives if there is any? Thank you so much!
Hi Myka, The tours are mostly half days. The most popular one is the one that goes to the tea plantation. I would choose that if you can only spare half a day.
This is my first time travelling to Cameron Highland via Singapore. How do you move around from the hotel to night market and different attractions? Is there taxi services? I look through Google map and I think the places are far from Copthorne Hotel. Please advise. Many Thanks!
Hi Alex, we joined a local tour to bring us around the attractions, including the night market. Within walking distance of Copthorne Hotel, there is a strawberry farm and also a number of shops.
Thank you very much for your updates! How about walking from Copthorne Hotel to the night market at the shopping areas at Tanah Raja? Is it walking distance? Many Thanks!
Hi Lex, Copthorne Hotel is in Brinchang, whereas Tanah Rata is another area about 20 minutes away by car. It is too far to walk. However, if you are referring to the Brinchang town, it is possible to walk, but if I recall, it may be up the hill.
How do you get to Cameron Highland from Singapore? By driving a car or taking a coach? Many thanks.
Hi Timothy, we drove, but not directly from Singapore. We stayed at Ipoh’s Lost World of Tambun before driving up to Cameron Highlands. On the way back, we stayed in Malacca before driving back to Singapore.
Nice write-up and great pictures! I wrote about some beautiful places in Cameron where you can take awesome pictures. Check it out and let me know what you think in the comments. 😀 Best Places To Take Pictures In Cameron Highlands Take care and cheers!
hi, any suggestions for car rentals from Ipoh? we are coming from SIN-IPOH. from there how to go to IPOH. any idea?
Hi, you might want to try online car rental companies or Expedia which will search through several car rental companies for you. The link to Expedia is to the right or bottom of this page.

Getting ready to travel
Cameron Highlands Resort: Picnic & Hotel Review
by Asdghik Ashley Melkonian
After spending a few action-packed days in Kuala Lumpur, I was ready for a relaxing getaway at Cameron Highlands Resort . I saw so many breathtaking photos of the area and I couldn’t wait to experience the beautiful rolling hills myself.
Cameron Highlands is Malaysia’s largest hill-station area at 1,500 meters above sea level and is famous for some of the most stunning tea plantation hills you can come across. To top it off, you can have fresh strawberries every day from the many farms in the area. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing retreat in the countryside.
Getting to the Cameron Highlands Resort
I checked out of Hotel Stripes in Kuala Lumpur and started my 3-hour journey to the Cameron Highlands Resort . Several people warned me about feeling car sick because of the winding roads, but I enjoyed the ride so much that I felt completely fine. The roads in Malaysia are very well made with several rest stops, so I was able to sit back, relax and count the minutes till we arrived at the Cameron Highlands Resort.
As we approached the area, I rolled down my window to take some photos and I immediately felt the cool crisp air. The five-star resort is located in Tanah Rata, overlooking a beautiful golf course. I was so happy to be greeted with lots of smiles and a very warm welcome by the wonderful staff at Cameron Highlands Resort.
Cameron Highlands Resort Review
Walking into the Cameron Highlands Resort gave me a sense of nostalgia. It’s like turning back the clock to colonial times. As you enter the reception area, you won’t be able to miss the gorgeous Jim Thompson tea room. The beauty of the hotel is in its unique design, blending traditional English charm with Asian hospitality.
I had the pleasure of staying in a deluxe room, beautifully furnished with a king four-poster bed overlooking the lush green golf course. My room had comfortable seating and the cutest little balcony where I enjoyed my morning coffee.
The luxurious bathroom has marble tiles all over, premium toiletries, hairdryer and slippers. The rooms are equipped with a large ceiling fan and don’t have air conditioning, because the weather is so perfectly cool.
Jetsetter recommendation: every day I would find fresh strawberries from the plantations in the area along with chocolate dipping sauce, which are great to enjoy on the balcony with some afternoon tea.
Cameron Highlands Resort Picnic
After I reached a complete state of relaxation, I was eager to head out to the famous rolling tea plantation hills of the Cameron Highlands. The sun was shining and it was a perfect day to enjoy the signature private picnic.
A driver picked me up from the resort in a private car and we started our short journey to the best viewing areas of the hills. The tea plantation hills are so endless that you can actually smell the tea when you’re driving through them! We continued to a hill away from the tourist crowds and I couldn’t believe my eyes.
I had a private butler waiting for me with the most stunning and picture-perfect picnic setup I have ever come across. I had my very own picnic with a panoramic view of the rolling hills as far as my eyes could see. Before I could sit down to enjoy my meal, I couldn’t stop taking hundreds of pictures.
To top it all off, I was served a delicious brunch by the most attentive butler. The food included both sweet and savory dishes, juice, coffee, tea and fresh strawberries of course! The Cameron Highlands Resort picnic was truly one of a kind.
Jetsetter recommendation: if you want to enjoy the rolling hills properly, Cameron Highlands resort is the only hotel that offers such a unique experience. Book ahead of time and take an extra battery for your camera!
The Spa at Cameron Highlands Resort
The award-winning wellness center at The Cameron Highlands Resort is so stunning and has some of the most unique treatments you can ever try. As soon as you walk into the spa area, you will feel a sense of serenity and relaxation.
I chose the 2-hour signature Fresh Strawberry Escapade and it was hands down the best spa experience I have had in all my travels. I can’t begin to explain how pampered I felt in these 2 hours. My treatment started with a bath filled with fresh strawberries, which bring relief from depression, infections, and fevers, as well as ailments of the kidneys, liver, and blood. I was served strawberries and tea to enjoy in the bath and scrub to use on my face.
My massage therapist was the sweetest and she made me feel like a princess. After the bath, she led me to a massage room. She explained that all the oils were also made with strawberries and I just couldn’t be happier! The massage was absolutely amazing and was followed by a scrub and body wrap. I left the spa after 2 hours feeling like a completely new person.
Jetsetter recommendation: Do not miss the Fresh Strawberry Escapade. I promise it will be an experience you will remember forever.

Dining at the cameron highlands resort.
I stayed at the resort for 3 days and every day I had a completely different dining experience. The dining options include: The Jim Thompson Tea Room, The Dining Room, and Gonbei.
Breakfast is served at the Dining Room every morning. You can choose hot dishes from the a la carte menu and cold snacks from the buffet.
My favorite was the hotpot dinner at Gonbei. It was my first hotpot experience and the very kind waiters patiently walked me through the steps of making my dinner. You can personalize your hotpot broth and then add the freshest local produce featuring farm vegetables, succulent seafood, prime meats and noodles to dip into the simmering fragrant broth of your choice.
I also had a lovely tea time at the Jim Thomson Tea Room. It included fresh pastries, delicate sandwiches, homemade scones, strawberry jam and plump strawberries along with fine teas from Cameron Highlands.
On my last night, I enjoyed a gourmet candlelit dinner at the Dining Room. The menu offers western and local specialties followed by delicious desserts.
I had such a spectacular stay at The Cameron Highlands Resort and would highly recommend it for an ultimate relaxation retreat.
Thank you Cameron Highlands Resort for hosting me and as always all opinions are my own.

Cameron Highlands Resort Review
We have teased you enough with our Cameron Highlands Resort High Tea Review , haven’t we? Now is time to show you this magical resort where they serve it. It is a bubble that offers a sneak-peek into the distant past. We are not going to lie to you, Cameron Highlands isn’t as pristine as it was back in Jim Thompson’s times. That’s because of all the deforestation, massive agriculture and heavy pollution happening up there. Luckily, Cameron Highlands Resort is a peaceful place in this chaos, and we love contrasts. Check why we are hyped over this heritage hotel and enjoy our Cameron Highlands Resort Review.
Cameron Highlands Resort Background
Amenities and facilities, dining at cameron highlands resort, lunch at jim thompson tea room, dinner at the dining room, afternoon tea at jim thompson tea room, cameron highlands resort review card, price and location.
Cameron Highlands was established as a hill station, attracting British colonials and expatriates, who escaped the searing tropical heat. Delightful spring-like climate and fertile grounds quickly made this area trendy, and it became known as a ‘little piece of England in Asia.’
For this reason, the hotel rooms were very much needed. Therefore in the 1930s, they extended the existing cottage and made this place perfect for guests. Nevertheless, the main architecture on today’s resort dates from the 1970s.
Sadly, the location of the Cameron Highlands Resort isn’t the dreamy one as it was back in time. The view over the golf course will be interrupted by the main road, which can get very busy. Locals are desperate, especially on jammed weekends, when local tourists are all over the Cameron Highlands. Because of that, expect your commute six times longer than usual and stay calm. Despite all, once you get to the resort, your nerves will undoubtedly relax.
The exterior of Cameron Highlands Resort is reminiscent of old colonial times. Black and white facades with French doors, sporting fanlights, plantation-style shutters, and ironwork balconies give pristine colonial feelings. The view is facing the 18-hole golf course in front and forest at the back.
After all, the interior is the one that matters the most, and it will amaze you. Colonial-era design on every step makes this hotel remarkable. Public rooms are furnished with cane loungers and comfy sofas beneath lazy circling fans.
Plenty of warm wood and wall decor will soothe your visit. Overall, the atmosphere can be described as tranquil and hearty. After all, isn’t that the main goal for every heritage hotel on the globe?
Each of the 56 well-appointed rooms perfectly captures the colonial feel. Polished timber floors, beamed ceilings, and plantation shutters. What can be more colonial than that? On top of that, bespoke furniture merges perfectly with Jim Thompson’s finest teak and silk. The last time we had his silk at Mandarin Oriental Bangkok , and it was great to feel it again.
The main color scheme is cream, chocolate brown with hints of copper. The room is spacious with a good layout and, most important – it has a balcony, from where you can enjoy the sounds of the birds and sip your favorite tea.
The bathroom is decorated in dark marble, floor tiled in the black and white pattern, and offering both – spacious shower and bath. It is quite similar to those in the Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur . After all, these two hotels have the same owner – YTL Hotels.
When it comes to the amenities, it has everything that you can expect from the 5-star heritage hotel . It is great to see that they are offering BOH tea, which is essential in the Cameron Highlands. Not only that, we even got local strawberries with chocolate. Yum.
Regarding Facilities, there is a dining room, bar, tea room, and even a steamboat restaurant. Somehow, we don’t find it fit for this hotel, but we suppose it can be a nice way to warm up in the evening. Still, we prefer to get comfortable with the fireplace in the downstairs library.
Anyway, for all who would like to warm more active, there is a small but very functional gym. Sadly, you won’t find any swimming pool. On the other hand, the air in Cameron Highlands is quite crisp, so we bet you won’t miss the swimming pool after all.
Nonetheless, there is a pleasant in-house spa with many treatments that perfectly fit in this tranquil environment. Here you can read our Cameron Highlands Spa Review article for more juicy details.
At Cameron Highlands Resort, they serve English plates and Malaysian classics. There is a self-serve breakfast with live station, lunch and afternoon tea at Jim Thompson Tea Room, a la cart dinner in the dining room, and hot pots at Gonbei Restaurant. We have tried out almost all the options, except the hot pot.
Buffet style breakfast at the Dining Room includes the classic Malaysian breakfast dishes and Western favorites, plus fresh fruit, pastries, and cold cuts. Here, we must admit that we’d rather see the processed cheese slices and pale ham sausage gone.
On the other hand, a la carte breakfast menu stretches morning offers. Really, don’t miss on the eggs benedict with free-range eggs. We also recommend the buttermilk pancakes with delicious house-made apple compote.
During our stay at the Cameron Highlands Resort, we loved the choices between the creative and healthy appetizers and fulfilling mains. We loved the succulent prawns with sweet melon and crunchy lettuce in a Marie Rose sauce for our appetizer at Jim Thompson Tea Room.
Our favorite main dish has to be the pan-roasted lamb with slow-roasted garlic butter potato beside a reduction of mustard and balsamic. Toothsome sticky toffee pudding satisfied our sweet tooth with moist cake and warm buttery sauce, not to mention the delightful scoop of banana ice cream on top.
Let us shortly share the favorites of our romantic candlelight dinner with you. Both appetizers, the dancing prawns, and the Mossy Forest salad were fresh and luscious, with only a minor drawback. The caramelized walnuts were unnecessary and overly sweetened the dish, in our opinion.
However, we did enjoy them on their own. Chef kept a healthy touch throughout the main dishes. Both were light on the carbs and heavy on the proteins, with modest seasonings that connected the fish and vegetables.
Since we kept our dinner light, we had to have a dessert; cheesecake with strawberry sauce and ice cream, and chrysanthemum infused creme brulee. Both were exquisite and ticked all the boxes.
The classic afternoon tea set consisted of the traditional bites that were freshly prepared and tasty. Both plain and raisin scones were light and didn’t overly crumble. Every piece of dessert and each sandwich was different, so we ended up sharing everything. After all, the afternoon tea is meant as a light refreshment before dinner. If you would like to know more, don’t miss our Cameron Highlands Resort High Tea Review .
There is no doubt, Cameron Highlands Resort is the best hotel in Cameron Highlands! Charmy colonial look, perfect service, lovely room, amazing spa, and decent food are just a few things that can only confirm my bold statement. The most remarkable is the service itself. To point out, the staff is super nice and always ready to chat with you. For this reason, staying there will give you that homely feeling instantly.
However, even though the hotel is top, there is always room for improvement. I think there should be some maintenance to be done and redesign as well. Some sections look dull and not so luxury, if I may. In a word, with some creativity and a small investment, it could be easily improved. And remember old is gold! We need to take care of our heritage.

Cameron Highlands Itinerary – How To Make The Most Of Your Trip
What should you know before planning a trip to Cameron Highlands?
Whether you’ve only got one day or 3 days to spare, having an itinerary to fall on will benefit you in more ways than one. Take it from us as we’ve been to Cameron Highlands countless times.
Read this post if you want to know when to go, how to go and where to stay. As well as how long to stay! And it doesn’t hurt to have some handy travel tips in your arsenal before you go.
Main Highlights Of Visiting Cameron Highlands
When you’re in Cameron Highlands, there’s no need to rush from one attraction to the next!
The point of it all is to take your time and appreciate the natural beauty around you!
- Visit a Cameron Highlands tea plantation
- Pick strawberries at a strawberry farm
- Stroll through Lavender Garden (we do prefer the newer attractions like Agro Market over this one)
- Visit a local market like Brinchang Night Market or Kea Farm Market
- Admire how big flowers get in a rose garden
- See plenty of cacti – maybe buy a couple
- Enjoy British cream tea at a colonial-style tea house
- Do some hiking (e.g. mossy forest, Gunung Brinchang, Robinson Falls, Gunung Jasar etc)
- Have a steamboat meal
And if you run out of things to do in Cameron Highlands , don’t fret! There’s more that we did not cover in this post!
Our Suggested Cameron Highlands Itineraries
Unless you plan to do some serious hiking or visit Brinchang Night Market :
You can cover most of the main highlights in Cameron Highlands in one day! Provided that the weather behaves, and that traffic is not too crazy.
The peak time for most attractions seems to be 10am to 12pm. At the same time, you should avoid passing back and forth through Kea Farm to save yourself the trouble of getting through the traffic again.
It really pays to plan your route carefully before starting on your journey. Check Waze too before you begin your journey. You never know when a tree or landslide is holding up the traffic!
Classic Itinerary (Great For Families Too)
This is a classic itinerary for first timers to Cameron Highlands! The order in which you see these attractions depends on your priority and how much you detest being stuck in traffic.
This itinerary assumes that you are making a day trip from Ipoh.
- Have an early morning local breakfast at a kopitiam or dim sum restaurant in Ipoh
- Head up to Cameron Highlands ( ~2 hours with light traffic)
- Stretch your legs at Sungai Palas BOH tea plantation (closed on Mondays) – we recommend having brunch here – their nasi lemak is good.
- Stop by the Kea Farm Market ; Visit the Sheep Sanctuary if you don’t see a long queue at the ticket counter
- Visit Agro Market (you can replace this with Lavender Garden, but we think Agro Market is better)
- Lunch at Delicious & Happiness Kitchen 有口福美味小厨
- Pick some strawberries at Big Red Strawberry Farm
- Have scones, tea, and cake at Cado Cafe
- See large specimens of cacti at Cactus Valley
- Check out the Brinchang Night Market – usually only open on Friday or Saturday evenings
- Steamboat dinner in Brinchang or Tanah Rata
- Head back down to Ipoh if you’re not staying overnight
Note: If you take the older (windier)Tapah road up, you can detour to Lata Iskandar Waterfall !
Other places of interest:
- Butterfly Farm Cameron Highlands
- O&R Garden
- Time Tunnel Museum
- Cameron Valley Tea House 1
- Cameron Highlands Flora Park
- MARDI Cameron Highlands

One day trip to cameron highlands in malaysia.
Cameron Highlands is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Malaysia . Cameron Highlands is 1500 meters above the sea level, and the temperature is low throughout the year. The largest 274.97 sq mi scenic hill station is located in Pahang and worth to visit for all. I loved my one day trip to Cameron Highlands from Kuala Lumpur. I was surprised to explore many farms to lush green tea plantations all around Cameron Highlands.
Cameron Highlands is almost 300 km away from Kuala Lumpur. It takes 3 hours to reach the Highlands by road. I made a group tour with IVY Holidays and arranged by Hotel Sentral Pudu. At early morning we started our journey and took the Tapah route to reach Cameron Highlands. All together it was almost 12-13 hours long day trip and cost me 350 RM.
The route is scenic and loved the mountainous sunrise view from the taxi window. On the way had breakfast from Pak Tam with Nasi Lemak and Lemon Honey juice. The whole trip was interesting. Details inside.

Many lush tea plantations are the main attractions of Cameron Highlands. The cool temperature of Cameron Highlands is also perfect to grow many vegetables, fruits, and flowers. Ringlet is the main agricultural hub of this hill station. Tanah Rata is the main and popular town in the Cameron Highlands and best for budget hotels and restaurants. Another popular town among tourists is Brinchang for good food and shopping.
When To Visit
As the weather is cooler, so the popularity of Cameron Highlands is high always among tourists. The average temperature is 18 °C and dropped at night. To avoid more tourists better not to visit in the peak season. During weekends students visited more for educational tours. Mainly locals do visit Cameron Highlands during local holidays. If you want to escape from too cold, then visit during summer time (June-July). I visited in August, found a few tourists and the weather was fine enough.
How To Reach
A road trip by car is the best way to explore Cameron Highlands. Either you can take the west (Tapah/Ipoh) or east (Gua Musang/Kuala Lipis) route to reach Cameron Highlands. Public transport service by bus is also standard. Buses stopped in almost all towns of Cameron Highlands. The rental taxi service is also not a bad idea to take. It depends on your choice and interest.
Top Things To Do & See
Lata Iskandar Waterfall
Visit Scenic Tea Plantation
Some of the popular tea plantations in the Cameron Highlands are BOH Tea Plantation, Cameron Valley Tea Plantation, Sungai Palas Tea Plantation, and Bharat Tea plantation. I visited BOH Tea Plantation. BOH is a famous tea brand in Malaysia and established in 1929. This oldest tea garden and tea centre was worth to visit for many reasons.
The main attraction of BOH Tea Estate is the BOH View Point. The beauty of BOH plantation and blue mountains is simply breathtaking from 4787 feet above the sea level. You’ll enjoy a short trek to reach the view point. Then you can visit the tea center to see the whole tea processing of BOH Tea Plantation. There is one nice tea outlet to purchase BOH tea products.
And one cup of fresh BOH tea is must drink from BOH Restaurant. BOH Heritage Tea Centre is closed on Monday and the opening hour is 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Pick Your Own Strawberries
Cameron Highlands is the main hub to grow and harvest strawberries in Malaysia. There are many strawberry farms and open for all visitors to visit and buy fresh strawberries. Many farms offer to pick your own strawberries and sell different strawberry food products. After tea plantations, strawberry farms are the main attractions for tourists in the Cameron Highlands.
I visited Raaju’s Hill Strawberry Farm and enjoyed to taste fresh strawberries. Some other popular strawberry farms are Healthy Strawberry Farm, Big Red Strawberry Farm, and Kasimani’s Strawberry Farm. April to June is the best time to visit strawberry farms in the Cameron Highlands.
Pick & Buy Cactuses
First time preferred to give more love over flowers to cactuses. It was worth to visit Cactus Point Cactus Farm in the Cameron Highlands. There are huge collections of many cactuses here. I had no idea about colorful cactuses and they look like flowers only. You can pick and buy cactuses from this farm.
Enjoy A Walk at Rose Valley
There are few rose collections at Rose Valley. The admission fee is 5 RM per person. Rose Valley is like a garden and not that worth besides enjoying some moments and walking through the walkway. But remember not to pick any flower by mistake.
Have Good Lunch From Tanah Rata
There are many Asian restaurants particularly Indian restaurants at Tanah Rata. I had a quick lunch with Arab Salad and French Fries from Cameron aa Curry House Restaurant. This particular spot beside this restaurant is perfect for hangouts, less crowded and you can have good food at a reasonable price.
Besides, there are Bee Farm, Kea Farm, and Butterfly Farm to visit in the Cameron Highlands.
However, for staying some days in the Cameron Highlands, you should book hotels before a tour. Mostly in the peak season, all hotels are booked very fast, and the price became high.
Undoubtedly Cameron Highlands is one of the scenic holiday destinations in Malaysia. A delightful and pleasant hill station to lose you in nature.

5 Reasons to Visit Cameron Highlands, Peninsular Malaysia
- Share on Facebook
Located approximately 3 hours from Kuala Lumpur, Cameron Highlands is an excellent weekend trip from the city. Sure there may be a few windy corners along the way, but it will be worthwhile when you bite into a freshly picked strawberry at 1,600 meters above sea level.
If you have spent considerable time in peninsular Malaysia, then you should be quite familiar with sticky back sweat, multiple showers per day and a scorching sun.
Whether you are a local or a tourist staying in Kuala Lumpur or another un-elevated region of the country, consider visiting Cameron Highlands.
But if you’re not convinced…
Here are our top 5 reasons why you should visit Cameron Highlands:
5. You can enjoy gorgeous panoramic views.
If the ascent up to Cameron Highlands doesn’t provide enough striking vantage points for you to check out, then you are sure to get many more once you reach this scenic hill station.
The tea plantations and rustic towns in the area offer photographers plenty to capture.
A short walk through the town of Brinchang is a great idea way to check out the rolling landscape of the Cameron Highlands. Tiered gardens appear to flow seamlessly with the natural countryside of Brinchang.
4. You can find wide variety of butterflies and snakes at the Cameron Highlands Butterfly Farm .
Just a few minutes northeast of Brinchang, you can find the Cameron Highlands Butterfly Farm. Inside the complex, there is an enclosed butterfly aviary and an attached room containing exotic snakes and insects. It may not compare with other large scale zoos around the globe, but it is a worthwhile and affordable stop especially for families with small children.
Cameron Highlands Butterfly Farm Admission Costs : Adults: RM 5 and Children RM 3
3. You can sample freshly picked fruits and vegetables.
Strawberries, strawberries and even more strawberries can be found almost anywhere in Cameron Highlands – and for a good bargain!
But they aren’t the only thing that you can find at one of the local markets there. Fresh corn and potatoes are also available. Consider purchasing some of the honey and other bottled products. You will not only get amazing cheap products but you will also be supporting the local farming community. That’s what we call a “win-win situation”.
If you want to burn a few more calories as you shop, why not pick your own fruit at one of the farms?
You will thank yourself after the trip when you compare the prices in Cameron Highlands to those at your local grocery store. Take advantage of one of the most agriculturally fertile regions in South East Asia.

2. You can get to visit stunning tea plantations.
Arguably the biggest tourist magnets in Cameron Highlands are the stunning tea plantations that you can visit. The great thing about visiting a tea plantation is that they cater to range of tourist preferences.
The BOH Sungei Tea Plantation (Sungei Palas) for instance, arranges tours of the plantations. This complex is equipped with a shopping outlet, a café, and an exhibit which summarizes some of the historical achievements of BOH Plantations Sdn Bhd.
Photographers are sure to be satisfied with the undulating landscape filled with vibrant rows of green tea leaves.
1. You can enjoy the fresh, breezy cool air that Cameron Highlands is known for.
Let’s face it – most tourists don’t head to Cameron Highlands to get a tan. Instead, they enjoy trekking, sampling local market food and picking strawberries in very comfortable weather.
Cameron Highland’s cool temperature is welcomed change to Kuala Lumpur’s often warm and humid one.
When you see locals wearing sweatshirts and coats, you begin to appreciate the climate change. Word of caution however; if you plan to walk around at night bring a few extra layers because it can get quite chilly!
How to find the cheapest rooms in Cameron Highlands?
If you’re visiting Cameron Highlands then you will have a pretty wide range of rooms to choose from. Since it’s one of the ‘coldest’ places in Malaysia in terms of temperature, you will find many resorts and apartments that offer balconies to capture the comfortable climate and scenic views. During our trip there we stayed in Brinchang and we thought it was a pleasant area to stay with a nice local market nearby.
We used www.agoda.com to book our room but there are a few additional sites you might want to consider as well:
1. Agoda : This is arguably the largest room provider in Malaysia. Therefore, it’s a great site to look for rooms in Cameron Highlands with over 150 different properties listed at the time of writing. Here is a link to their rooms:

2. Booking.com : Great if you are planning well in advance, with superb cancellation policies and competitive prices. It’s very popular with our European and North American readers. Here is a summary of their properties:
3. Hotelscombined.com : This is the best price comparison site we have found. Within seconds you can find the cheapest prices from the world’s top accommodation sites. Here is a link to their comparison search feature:

Bottom Line. The four-pearl Cameron Highlands Resort is set on a grand colonial-era property adjacent to the Cameron Highlands Golf Course, near the towns of Brinchang and Tanah Rata. Cameron Highland review blog: What to eat in Cameron Highlands. There are quite a lot of food here, mostly Indian and Chinese food, you can try as you like. Unlike other spots in Malaysia, I suggest you try a few dishes: Tom Yum and Steamboat. Steamboat is like hot pot in Vietnam but you should try it, it's delicious.
Cameron Highlands. Cameron Highlands, Malaysia.
Because it is about 1500 meters above sea level and situated on the Titiwangsa Range; Cameron Highlands enjoys a colder and less humid climate compared to KL. During our November visit, the day temperature was around 20°C. By early evening, the temperature dropped to 16°C and eventually went down as the night progressed.
Cameron Highlands Resort Review. Walking into the Cameron Highlands Resort gave me a sense of nostalgia. It's like turning back the clock to colonial times. Ambiance. The exterior of Cameron Highlands Resort is reminiscent of old colonial times. Black and white facades with French doors, sporting fanlights, plantation-style shutters, and ironwork balconies give pristine colonial feelings. The view is facing the 18-hole golf course in front and forest at the back.

The very first thing that we did after arriving in Cameron Highlands was of course: eat!We had our early lunch in 200 Seeds Cafe (Abang Strawberry), a restaurant + strawberry farm at Taman Sedia, a Malay village off Tanah Rata town center. The main specialty of the restaurant is Nasi Lemak Strawberry, which was the main reason we had our meal there.
It was one of my favourite places during my month in Malaysia. Here's why .. 1. It's cool! Literally! The Cameron Highlands is so between 1000-1600 metres above sea level. Average temperatures during the day rarely get above 25 degrees Celsius and at times they can drop to a chilly 10 degrees at night.
Visit a Cameron Highlands tea plantation. Pick strawberries at a strawberry farm. Stroll through Lavender Garden (we do prefer the newer attractions like Agro Market over this one) Visit a local market like Brinchang Night Market or Kea Farm Market. Admire how big flowers get in a rose garden.
