This wikiHow teaches you how to make Facebook require your approval before adding posts you’re tagged in to your Timeline.

Step 1 Open Facebook.

  • If you’re prompted to sign in to your account, enter your username and password and tap Log In.

Step 2 Tap ☰.

  • Android: Scroll down and tap Account Settings under the “Help & Settings” header.
  • iPhone/iPad: Scroll down and tap Settings , then select Account Settings .

Step 4 Tap Timeline and Tagging.

  • If you don’t want to approve tags manually, move the switch to the Off position.
  • When someone tags you in a post or photo, you’ll receive a notification asking for your approval. You’ll have the option to view the content before deciding whether to approve or deny the post.

  • If you’d prefer that posts and photos in which you’re tagged appear on your Timeline automatically, select “Disabled.”

Step 8 Approve tags.

While most of us probably associate Facebook tags with photos, that's only half of the story. You can also be tagged in posts, a feature that's commonly used when posting about meetups with friends or family members. Sometimes, spammers and marketers will tag you in posts, particularly from compromised accounts.

These tags will all show up on your timeline by default. They will appear beneath your name, photo, and bio information on your main profile. If a friend, family member, or colleague looks at your profile, they can see posts that you have been tagged in by scrolling down the page.

You may be tagged by friends, or you may be tagged by strangers. Once you're tagged in a post, your name will be visible to anyone who has permission to see that post. If the post is public, it could show up on your profile as public content (which means that anyone, friends or not, could see it).

To do this, log in to your Facebook account on the web at Facebook.com or via the mobile app for your platform of choice.

Enable Timeline Review on Facebook.com

If you're using the website, first, log in to the Facebook website. Click on the downward-facing arrow in the top-right corner of the news feed.

In the menu that appears, click on "Settings & Privacy," and then select "Settings" to show the full menu.

Click on the "Profile and Tagging" section in the sidebar on the left of the screen.

Under the Reviewing section at the bottom of the screen, enable "Review posts you're tagged in before the post appears on your profile?" by clicking the Edit button.

While you're here, you might also want to enable the "Review tags that people add to your posts before the tags appear on Facebook?" option to get even greater control over who can see your posts.

Enable Timeline Review on Mobile

On mobile, the process is a little different, but just as simple. After you're logged in, access Facebook settings using the "More" tab in the lower right-hand corner of the screen.

Tap "Settings & Privacy," followed by "Settings" to see the full list of options that you have available to you.

Under Audience and Visibility, tap on "Profile and tagging."

Under the "Reviewing" section, enable the "Review posts you're tagged in before the post appears on your profile?" option to turn on Timeline Review. You may also want to enable the "Review tags that people add to your posts before the tags appear on Facebook?" option for even greater control.

The tagging process will remain the same for your friends, and they won't receive any notification that you have hidden or approved the tag on your profile. If they visit your profile, then they'll be able to see exactly what you've been tagged in, just like the rest of your friends list.

With Timeline Review enabled, you will be notified of any posts that you are tagged in with the option of approving or hiding the tag. When you approve a tag, it will appear on your profile, whereas choosing "hide" will hide the post.

This won't stop you from being tagged on Facebook, but it will prevent these tags from appearing right on your profile.

You can access Timeline Review directly from the web and mobile interfaces. To do this in a browser at Facebook.com , first, click on the downward arrow in the top-right corner. Then, choose Settings & Privacy, followed by Activity Log. Click on "Timeline, Photo and Tag Review" to see any pending posts.

On mobile using the Facebook app, tap on the "More" tab in the bottom-right corner of the screen, and then tap on your name at the top of the screen to see your profile. Tap on the ellipsis "..." icon to see more options, followed by "Review Posts and Tags" to see any pending posts.

Timeline Review doesn't work retroactively, so anything that you've already been tagged in will persist. Fortunately, you can still remove items that you've been tagged in from your timeline, although you'll have to do it manually on a post-by-post basis.

To do this, access your profile either via the web or mobile. Scroll down to see any posts that you've been tagged in, and then click (or tap) on the ellipsis "..." button next to the post.

From the menu that appears, choose "Hide from profile," and the post will no longer show up. Keep in mind that the post hasn't gone away entirely and that only the profile that made the post can change its visibility or delete it.

If you have greater concerns about the post---for example, if you think that it will reveal information about you that you would rather keep private---then you can click on the "Find support or report post" button. You'll find many other options, such as "Bullying" and "Harassment," under the "Something Else" button.

Shelter island’s ferries weathering storms.

Shelter Island has recently alternated from years of drought to monsoon-like rain storms. But North Ferry and South Ferry have managed to weather the storms of late with no need to close down at any point, according to Heights Property Owners Corporation Executive Director Stella Lagudis and South Ferry CEO Cliff Clark.

During a stormy day earlier this month, vehicles disembarking on the Shelter Island side of North Ferry encountered difficulty with high water in the terminal roadways. But there was no problem getting boats loaded and unloaded, Ms. Lagudis said.

Small cars, built low to the ground, were asked to wait, and not drive through high water at the South Ferry terminals, Mr. Clark said.

“Kudos go to the crew members,” Ms. Lagudis said.

Also, none of the recent storms caused any threat to the movement of boats crossing between Greenport and Shelter Island or to and from the South Fork.

Constant downpours, strong winds and particularly high tides on Shelter Island over the several days earlier in the month caused widespread flooding. In addition to Bridge Street, other main arteries, such as the causeways, Ram Island Road, and West Neck Road near West Neck Bay, were closed to traffic for a time.

According to a Newsday report, “Greenport Village must make earlier-than-anticipated repairs to the bulkhead in Mitchell Park after an early April nor’easter pummeled the shoreline with torrential rain and whipping winds. The April 3 storm flooded neighborhoods, downed trees and wrecked floating docks in the municipal marina. It also damaged critical points along the wooden bulkhead, leaving gaping holes and cracked concrete in its wake.”

The devastation of the Greenport waterfront is ongoing, not just from recent nor’easters, but from years of heavy weather and rising seas.

Last week, some docks were wrecked along the waterfront.

According to Greenport officials, a federal grant of $3 million will help replace nearly 1,000 feet of bulkhead along Mitchell Park, and the mayor has declared a state of emergency. That federal grant is part of $87 million in funding directed toward Long Island projects.

As for the condition of the increasingly fragile waterfront, as Newsday reported, “The worst of the damage is between the North Ferry landing terminal and Railroad Dock.”

The good news for ferry users now is that the ramp on the Greenport side that had been closed was reopened recently following the completion of work, and a fourth boat is now operational. That leaves one more ramp on the Shelter Island side to be done.

The new ramp on the Greenport side is now 2 feet higher and 6 feet longer, Ms. Lagudis said.

South Ferry wasn’t affected by more recent storms, Mr. Clark said. But the company began investing in lifting and extending docks more than 15 years ago, he said.

Mr. Clark recalled how Super Storm Sandy had him working with his crew to get a patient off the Island to Southampton Hospital and how it took a pickup truck to carry the patient with crew members covering her with a tarp for protection.

He credits his well-trained crew members with the ability to handle any emergencies they’ve encountered to keep the boats running.

I had a 'power lunch' at Cecconi's, where Hollywood diners frequently forget their Gucci bags and iPads. Here's what it was like.

We now live in a hybrid world, but the "power lunch" is due for a comeback. And one spot looking to hold onto its crown is Cecconi's .

A classic Italian restaurant off West Hollywood's famous Melrose Avenue, Cecconi's frequently appears on lists for the "top power lunch spots" and has been known to attract everyone from Beyoncé to Prince Harry .

But when it comes to food, is the restaurant still delivering hits — or coasting on its legacy?

Let's find out.

Cecconi's, which is owned by Soho House, has been in West Hollywood for 15 years.

Cecconi's has always been a magnet for the A-list and princes. Enzo Cecconi opened the first location in 1978, bringing "fresh pasta, beef carpaccio, tiramisu, and Bellini cocktails" to the British, according to the restaurant's website .

Soho House took full ownership in 2005, and now there are 13 Cecconi's around the world, stretching from Miami Beach to Mumbai. But the West Hollywood iteration is the most well-known thanks to its star-studded clientele, earning it a spot alongside classic LA establishments like Spago, The Ivy, and Polo Lounge as a place to "see and be seen" — and cut some good deals.

I've lived in LA for the past few years but had never dined at Cecconi's. It was time to see a true power lunch in action.

A gloomy sky greeted me as I arrived for lunch on a Friday afternoon.

My friend and I had no trouble getting a table, realizing why as we walked up the driveway and into the restaurant.

There was ample seating throughout the airy space, including a nearly empty tented dining area in front of the entrance.

The patio was nearly full as we walked up to the hostess.

I was surprised when the hostess asked for my number, wondering if we should've made a reservation. But she explained it was actually to help return any lost items.

"You wouldn't believe what people leave behind," she told me. "Gucci bags, iPads, Louis Vuitton duffels."

Bright pops of color and a bold floor gave the restaurant a more modern vibe than I expected.

The phrase "power lunch" can bring to mind a vision of stuffy and dated interiors, but I loved the leather turquoise chairs and black-and-white striped floor in Cecconi's dining room. They added a chic touch alongside the old-school chandeliers and dark wood paneling.

We were seated next to the wraparound bar in front of one of the doors that opened up to the patio. It was a perfect people-watching spot.

While it might have been power lunch hour, few people were in suits or business casual. Two very glamorous older women — perfectly coiffed hair, gold jewelry, Jackie O sunglasses — sat across from us. A group of friends in jeans and sweaters were laughing nearby. A handful of solo diners were enjoying quiet meals at the bar.

Cecconi's extensive menu features pizza, pasta, and a variety of appetizers and entrées.

One of the highlights of our lunch was the extremely kind waiter, who highly recommended we get a pizza — which ended up being the best dish of the day.

I had heard there was a secret Cecconi's burger, but our waiter revealed it only makes special appearances (usually during happy hour). I also inquired about the $26 "Piatto Unico" on the menu, which we learned is a lunchtime special that changes weekly and always features a protein, side, and salad.

When I asked if it was worth trying that week's special, our waiter recommended we go with an appetizer and two dishes instead.

I kicked things off with a $22 Peach Bourbon Smash cocktail.

Listed as one of Cecconi's seasonal cocktails, the Peach Bourbon Smash is made with Maker's Mark, lemon, ginger, peach, and strawberry bitters.

My drink had a lovely sunny hue that brightened up the very cloudy LA day, with flavors to match. It was a sweet and zingy drink, and the ginger candy garnish was a fun touch.

Then came the $28 grilled octopus, which is served with lemon, capers, and olives.

My parents immigrated to the US from Greece , so a love for octopus is ingrained in me. A great plate can immediately transport me back to childhood summer days spent in tavernas overlooking the Aegean Sea, our table covered in a seafood feast.

Cecconi's octopus unfortunately didn't live up to those memories, nor did it come close to some fantastic plates I've had on recent trips to Mexico (Ziggy's octopus in Tulum , I will never forget you). The octopus had a soft texture — no easy feat with such a tricky protein. But the meat was so charred on the outside that it completely overwhelmed the flavor.

Served alongside peppadew peppers, which added a kick of heat, the octopus was begging for something to brighten up the plate — whether it be a cooling sauce or a bigger splash of acidity.

Next up was the $36 cavatelli lamb ragù, which didn't live up to its price tag.

I've always had a deep love for pasta , so I'm very good at convincing myself to shell out for a pricey dish on special occasions. A waiter recently persuaded me to try the $50 agnolotti at Funke — the newest LA restaurant by master pasta maker Evan Funke — and I had zero regrets when I bit into the deliciously delicate noodle, stuffed to perfection with pork and bathed in a cascade of fresh Parmigiano Reggiano.

Cecconi's cavatelli lamb ragù is $14 cheaper, but it's still a very pricey dish, and the flavors just didn't warrant the expense, in my experience. The cavatelli was chewy, overcooked, and only coated with a light layer of the ragù. The dish desperately needed more sauce, herbs, and cheese.

In a city brimming with incredible pasta dishes at a range of prices — I probably think about the $19 Malai Rigatoni from Piija Palace at least once a week — Cecconi's ragù is neither exciting nor affordable. It's an easy skip.

The best part of the meal was the $32 spicy salami pizza.

I grew up next to a wood-oven pizza restaurant that my family would visit weekly, and Cecconi's wood-fired spicy salami pie captured my nostalgia. Each floppy slice had a satisfyingly smoky and charred bottom, adding some great texture. The spicy salami and perfectly cooked mushrooms were a match made in heaven, and the tomato sauce was delicious.

It was a lovely pie and the highlight of the lunch, but you can find even better (and cheaper) pizzas at nearby Pizzana or Jon & Vinny's .

Overall, our lunch at Cecconi's was a letdown.

While the atmosphere was as lovely as the service, and we didn't have to wait long for our meal — all important factors in a good "power lunch" — the food just didn't live up to the hype. Or the high price tag.

And in a city with one of the most competitive culinary scenes in the world, there are dozens of places nearby where you can dazzle a client — with both the scenery and the pasta.

The apex of a pyramid-shaped glass building with dramatic step-down terraces, this luxury penthouse is the most expensive condo for sale in the Sunshine State’s Broward County.

The duplex residence, which begins on the 17th floor of the Auberge Beach Residences & Spa development, is being sold complete with its designer furnishings, said Megan Probst of Compass Florida, who co-listed it with Michelle Nunez of Fortune International Real Estate.

“It’s the supreme property of the development,” said Nunez, who added that Auberge Beach was built on the last five undeveloped acres of sand in the city. “And it’s turnkey.”

The unit has a variety of custom features, including coffered ceilings and luxury lighting fixtures, according to the agents. “It has been redesigned with high-end features that are not seen in the other units,” Probst said. The building, designed by Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates, is architecturally distinct. “It’s a staircase to the sand,” Nunez said.

The seller, Selim Rusi, whose family owns the real estate firm Salmar Properties, said he’s enjoyed the views and the fact that there are “plenty of spots to soak in the sunrise or sunset.”

The 5,822-square-foot condo has five bedrooms, six full bathrooms and one half bath. Its wraparound terraces total 3,546 square feet. The 23-story building, which has 171 residences, opened in 2018.

The duplex condo has an office that could be used as a den, a wet bar, an entertainment floor, a private plunge pool and two covered parking spaces. It’s one of only four units that has a private poolside cabana with its own full bath.

The resort-style development has a restaurant, a 24/7 concierge, valet parking, beach attendants, a business center, a cabana, a play area for children, a clubhouse-clubroom, an elevator, an exercise room, a heated pool, a pool sauna and a spa/hot tub.

Fort Lauderdale, on the state’s southeastern coast, is, Probst said, “perfectly positioned between Miami and Palm Beach County.”

Nunez said that it’s “laid-back, approachable, comfortable and has the feel of a neighborhood beach.”

Unpretentious and private, Fort Lauderdale, which is defined by its beaches and boating canals, is a close-knit community that’s a “mix of all three of South Florida’s three counties,” Nunez added.

NewJeans - Bubble Gum

NewJeans have become swept up in the current HYBE/Min Heejin drama and this will likely be the overriding news coverage for the foreseeable future. This is unfolding just as they’re preparing for a May comeback and pre-releasing the frothy Bubble Gum . The song acts as a CF for Japan’s Essential Premium hair care brand and if there was ever a group perfect for CFs it has to be NewJeans. Their songs are often about the length of an extended commercial and airy enough to blend into the background while the product is being pitched. Bubble Gum achieves this aim without issue, but the song is also in line with current global trends.

For better or worse, Bubble Gum ‘s gentle guitar and muted sound palette echo the style of featherlight pop that’s currently steering Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso to global chart success. These songs tend to be enjoyable but a bit toothless — like an aftertaste rather than the main course. Bubble Gum ‘s disco flute and fizzy synth textures are nice touches, but the track starts and ends with the same hushed energy. It’s a pop haze — infinitely pleasant but rarely gripping. I’ve never been to one of those fancy oxygen bars, but I imagine this is kind of what they feel like.

I feel like I overate these songs when they first come out because they are so catchy and easy to listen to and than after an hour I have no desire to listen to them anymore

Create and add an email signature in Outlook

In Outlook, you can create one or more personalized signatures for your email messages. Your signature can include text, links, pictures, and images (such as your handwritten signature or a logo).

Note:  If the steps under this New Outlook tab don't work, you may not be using new Outlook for Windows yet. Select Classic Outlook  and follow those steps instead.

Create and add an email signature

On the View tab, select   View Settings . 

Select Accounts > Signatures .

Select    New signature , then give it a distinct name.

In the editing box below the new name, type your signature, then format it with the font, color, and styles to get the appearance you want.

Select Save when you're done.

With your new signature selected from the list above the editing box, go to  Select default signatures and choose whether to apply the signature to new messages and to replies and forwards.

Select Save again.

Note:  If you have a Microsoft account, and you use Outlook and Outlook on the web or Outlook on the web for business, you need to create a signature in both products.

Create your signature and choose when Outlook adds a signature to your messages

Open a new email message.

Select Signature from the Message menu.

Under Select signature to edit , choose New , and in the New Signature dialog box, type a name for the signature.

Under Edit signature , compose your signature. You can change fonts, font colors, and sizes, as well as text alignment. If you want to create a more robust signature with bullets, tables, or borders, use Word to create and format your signature text, then copy and paste it into the Edit signature box. You can also use a pre-designed template  to create your signature. Download the templates in Word, customize with your personal information, and then copy and paste into the Edit signature box. 

Type a new signature to use in your email

You can add links and images to your email signature, change fonts and colors, and justify the text using the mini formatting bar under Edit signature .

You can also add social media icons and links in your signature or customize one of our pre-designed temlates. For more information, see Create a signature from a template .

To add images to your signature, see Add a logo or image to your signature .

Under Choose default signature , set the following options. 

In the E-mail account drop-down box, choose an email account to associate with the signature. You can have different signatures for each email account.

You can have a signature automatically added to all new messages. Go to in the New messages drop-down box and select one of your signatures. If you don't want to automatically add a signature to new messages, choose (none). This option does not add a signature to any messages you reply to or forward. 

You can select to have your signature automatically appear in reply and forward messages. In the  Replies/forwards drop-down, select one of your signatures. Otherwise, accept the default option of (none). 

Choose OK to save your new signature and return to your message. Outlook doesn't add your new signature to the message you opened in Step 1, even if you chose to apply the signature to all new messages. You'll have to add the signature manually to this one message. All future messages will have the signature added automatically. To add the signature manually, select Signature from the Message menu and then pick the signature you just created.

Add a logo or image to your signature

If you have a company logo or an image to add to your signature, use the following steps.

Open a new message and then select Signature > Signatures .

In the Select signature to edit box, choose the signature you want to add a logo or image to.

Insert an image from your device icon

To resize your image, right-click the image, then choose Picture . Select the Size tab and use the options to resize your image. To keep the image proportions, make sure to keep the Lock aspect ratio checkbox checked.

When you're done, select OK , then select OK again to save the changes to your signature.

Insert a signature manually

If you don't choose to insert a signature for all new messages or replies and forwards, you can still insert a signature manually.

In your email message, on the Message tab, select Signature .

Choose your signature from the fly-out menu that appears. If you have more than one signature, you can select any of the signatures you've created.

Automatically add a signature to a message

You can create an email signature that you can add automatically to all outgoing messages or add manually to specific ones.

Select Settings   at the top of the page.

Select Mail >  Compose and reply .

Under Email signature , type your signature and use the available formatting options to change its appearance.

Select the default signature for new messages and replies.

Manually add your signature to a new message

If you've created a signature but didn't choose to automatically add it to all outgoing messages, you can add it later when you write an email message.

In a new message or reply, type your message.

If you created multiple signatures, choose the signature you want to use for your new message or reply.

When your email message is ready, choose Send .

Note:  Outlook.com is the web version of Outlook for users signing in with a personal Microsoft account such as an Outlook.com or Hotmail.com account.
