Most children might have heard the famous proverb, ‘Cleanliness is next to godliness.’ But do they know the core meaning of these words? Through this proverb, it’s the quality of being morally pure and personally hygienic that has been highlighted. It suggests the idea that it is the responsibility of every individual to have a moral responsibility to keep themselves and their surroundings clean and tidy. The first step in building a clean and safe environment for everyone to live in is to understand this responsibility; do what you should and motivate others around you also to do what is necessary to keep the surroundings clean and tidy.

Sample Speech on Cleanliness

A few samples of speeches on cleanliness are given below. Please go through them and utilise the resource for your better understanding.

Just like lemons are required for lemonades, cleanliness is required for good health. Cleanliness and hygiene are the two inevitable parts of a healthy and refined lifestyle. Let’s remember the words of the father of our nation — “I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet”. People prioritise cleanliness over anything. It is evident from many reports that the chance of developing good thoughts is high in individuals when they maintain good hygiene and cleanliness. By analysing the trait of cleanliness, a thousand pieces of information regarding the nature and lifestyle of the individual can be easily assumed. Cleanliness tells a lot about a human being’s character.

It’s not only about keeping us safe from diseases, there are multiple things that cleanliness will bring into our lives. Research has found that watching a clean room boosts the overall happiness of an individual by 53%. And also, by the process of removing clutter, people can reduce stress, depression, and anxiety. People living in disorganised spaces are more likely to be stressed, distracted, and less productive. As a result, their ability to concentrate on specific subjects will be too low compared to the people living in clean houses.

We live in a world where everyone is busy racing against time. People do not spare even a few minutes of a day for taking care of themselves. It is hard to keep things clean when leading a busy lifestyle, but one must realise that a clean body and house are essential for a human being to be healthy. So try to develop a cleaning schedule and start defending against diseases. It is better to follow cleanliness for a disease-free life with contentment and peace.

Imagine you are the character Alice in the book Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland written by Lewis Carroll. In the novel, she spots a white rabbit with pink eyes, watch, waistcoat, and hat, and immediately chases it. Just like her, the burning curiosity within your mind will definitely ask you too to chase it. Eventually, you will fall into that rabbit hole as in the story. Continue your imagination. After the fall, when you get up, there are two roads right before you. One road is very dirty, foul-smelling, and abuzz with flies. But the second one is just the opposite. It is very clean, fragrant, and appealing. Which road will you choose? You don’t even need a moment to think and decide, right? Definitely, we all will be choosing the clean one. But why?

We don’t even know where it leads to. But still, we will stand firm in our choice. It is because cleanliness is always connected to righteousness. Positivity will be the first intuition that every human body develops after hearing about cleanliness. To sum it up, cleanliness helps to bring positive energy, and keeps the mind of the individual happy.

We can simply define cleanliness as the state or quality of leading a healthy and hygienic lifestyle by keeping yourself and your surroundings clean. Other than the visual treat and pleasure, cleanliness offers us multiple benefits. It is undoubtedly an imperative trait that every individual must possess for a healthy life. Cleanliness keeps diseases away. It is not at all new knowledge for us. Every individual with a bit of common sense knows this fact but still compromises on this part.

People know that lack of cleanliness and hygiene leads to the growth of many kinds of germs causing several deadly diseases. And many of such diseases are contagious — they spread from one individual to another. So a simple mistake or compromise on the side of an individual is enough to turn the world upside down. This is the reason why there exist multiple organisations and committees all around the world to speak on the importance of cleanliness. These groups conduct awareness programmes and other special events to boost the society’s awareness about the importance of cleanliness. There are multiple missions like the ‘Swachh Bharat Mission, which is an initiative taken by the government of India to accelerate the efforts of the people for universal sanitation. Swachh Bharat Mission or Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, or Clean India Mission, was launched by the Prime Minister of India on 2nd October 2014. The slogan of this countrywide campaign is “One step towards cleanliness”. So, let’s unite and take steps towards a cleaner, healthier India.

Yes, Cleanliness is good for mental health. It promotes a positive mental attitude in the individual. Many articles have reported that the chance of developing good thoughts is high in individuals when they maintain good hygiene.

The habit of cleanliness should be taught to the children from the very childhood. The habits formed in early childhood continue for life. Clean surroundings lead to good health. Moreover, a clean workplace leads to higher productivity and efficiency in work.

This leads to success and development in work. Moreover, environmental cleanliness should be taught. This would develop respect towards the environment in the minds of the children. Hence, adults should tell them the many things that the environment does for us.  One who keeps every kind of cleanliness is a person of divinity, thus, praiseworthy.

Importance of Cleanliness

You all must have heard a good say “ A healthy mind lives in a healthy body. Thus, a person who is clean develops a high intellect. Furthermore, a healthy person is free from the diseases caused by the unclean atmosphere.

How to keep clean?

We must practice habits related to personal hygiene such as washing hands and brushing teeth. It will help to keep bacteria, viruses, and illnesses away. Also, we can maintain cleanliness by not littering and letting others litter. We should not throw garbage here and there. We must use the dustbin.

Moreover, we should clean the dustbin once in a day. If not cleaned, flies and mosquitoes would spread and cause harmful diseases. Furthermore, we can contribute to the welfare of the nation by keeping clean. A clean place is free from pollution. A pollution-free environment leads to sustainable development. Thus, we should adopt environment-friendly measures. We should avoid using plastic bags. Also, we should use biodegradable materials.

Furthermore, we should recycle and reuse materials. We should also plant more and more trees to keep the environment clean. Planting of trees adds to the beauty of nature. Also, it provides greenery and life to everyone. Moreover, Narendra Modi has initiated a cleanliness campaign in the near past.

This was known by the name “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” or “Clean India Movement”. He focused on the sweeping of streets for maintaining cleanliness. Students must listen to his motivating speech on cleanliness. We all should try at our levels to be a part of such a good program.

Now, I would like to conclude the topic. We should maintain physical as spiritual cleanliness. It is not a single person’s responsibility to maintain cleanliness. Also, it is not only the work of government and municipal corporations to maintain cleanliness. We all can contribute to the individual-level by using eco-friendly measures.

Similar to the basic necessities of life like food, water, shelter, cleanliness also holds great value in life. It is, in fact, one of the most important requirements for a healthy living. By maintaining cleanliness, we can show gratitude towards our Mother Earth in a true way.

Speech On Cleanliness - 10 Lines, Short and Long Speech

  • Speech On Cleanliness

Cleanliness is really important in everyone's life. It is essential for maintaining a healthy body, mind, and spirit. Every individual is taught the value of cleanliness from childhood, particularly in school. Teachers use a variety of strategies to teach kids this vital lesson, such as having them prepare speeches about the value of cleanliness.

10 Lines Speech On Cleanliness

Short speech on cleanliness, long speech on cleanliness, cleanliness: what is it, how can i keep my house clean, importance of cleanliness..

Speech On Cleanliness - 10 Lines, Short and Long Speech

Cleanliness is directly linked to our health and hygiene. A clean environment helps prevent the spread of diseases and reduces the risk of infections. We must maintain cleanliness in our homes, offices, schools, and public places to ensure good health.

A clean and tidy environment not only looks good but also has a positive impact on our mental well-being. It creates a welcoming atmosphere and makes us feel more relaxed.

Cleanliness is a shared responsibility. It is not just the job of a single person or department, but it is the responsibility of everyone. Keeping our surroundings clean demonstrates our commitment towards our community and the environment.

Cleanliness is also about preserving the environment. Keeping our environment clean helps conserve natural resources and prevent pollution. Our responsibility is to reduce waste, recycle, and use environmentally-friendly products to protect our planet.

Cleanliness has a positive impact on the economy as well. A clean and well-maintained environment attracts tourists and businesses and helps create a positive image of the country.

Cleanliness is a reflection of our personal pride and self-respect. It shows that we take pride in our surroundings and take our responsibilities seriously.

Cleanliness must be taught and practised from a young age. Children must be taught the importance of keeping their surroundings clean and instilled as a habit.

Cleanliness is a social responsibility that we all must take seriously. By keeping our surroundings clean, we are contributing to the well-being of ourselves and our families and the well-being of our communities and society at large.

A clean and well-maintained environment can significantly improve the quality of our lives. It can help reduce stress, increase happiness, and create a sense of pride and ownership.

When we lead by example and clean our surroundings, we set a good example for others. Our actions can inspire others to adopt cleanliness as a habit and positively impact the community.

One crucial component of a good life is cleanliness. It is a state of being free from dirt and germs or clean. As important as breathing, eating, and drinking are hygiene habits.

Since cleanliness is equated with godliness—maintaining cleanliness is equivalent to dedicating oneself to God—this practice should be encouraged early. We protect ourselves against multiple viruses and harmful germs that can make us ill by keeping ourselves and our environment clean.

We can all help keep ourselves and our environment clean with a little effort. Every day, we should take a bath, wash our hands before and after meals, brush our teeth twice a day, comb our hair once a day, and follow other personal hygiene routines. To keep our surroundings clean, we should always put trash in the trash can, sweep and mop the floor, pick up any food scraps that fall on the floor when dining, and engage in other similar behaviours.

We may ignore our surroundings to maintain our cleanliness or hygiene, such as after cleaning the house or dumping rubbish on the road. There are better ways to go. Always make little efforts to keep things tidy, and refrain from doing things that detract from the beauty around us.

Mahatma Gandhi, referred to as the "father of the nation" by all Indians, toiled assiduously to free India. He once remarked, "Sanitation is more important than independence" and "You cannot make your towns and cities clean as long as you do not take the broom and the bucket in your hands."

When we talk about cleanliness, people frequently have broad conceptions of it. People have started to notice clean cities, clean highways, clean environments, and clean nations. When people think about these widespread phenomena, they forget about themselves. On a personal level, cleanliness starts.

Everyone should put themselves first before anything else. Since general sentiments or notions about cleanliness can be realised, everyone should keep themselves clean and hygienic. As Mahatma Gandhi also said, "Be the change you wish to see in the world," everyone should start with themselves to enhance the cleanliness of the entire country.

By taking a daily bath, washing one's hands and feet after entering from the outside, keeping one's home tidy and hygienic, cutting one's hair and nails as needed, etc., one can keep themselves tidy. Most people disregard and casually approach these tasks, which does nothing to help them maintain their hygiene.

Everyone knows that having good physical health helps maintain good mental health and that someone in good physical and mental health can give their all to their country. Maintaining a clean environment makes it possible to practise excellent hygiene, which is necessary to stay healthy.

First and foremost, as I already mentioned, we are in the first stage. One can keep oneself and their family healthy by taking a daily bath, maintaining one's hair and nails, regularly cleaning the home, washing the floors, etc... He can also help society by promoting environmental preservation.

There are many ways to create a clean environment, such as limiting plastic and related trash, recycling and reusing resources like water, using bicycles or electric vehicles, planting trees, maintaining clean surroundings, and many more. Personal satisfaction is also guaranteed in this way.

Further development results from beginning with ourselves. When someone keeps themselves, their environment, and their surroundings clean, it signals to other people that they should do the same. Additionally, this message is transmitted to the following generations. Cleanliness spreads from a clean home to a clean village, then a clean city, state, and nation.

Our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in 2014 on Mahatma Gandhi's birthday, keeping in mind the value of cleanliness for everyone. This has had fantastic results; there has been a significant increase in the number of toilets across the nation, improving sanitation for people.

Cleanliness is extremely important, like other fundamental needs like food, water, and shelter. It's one of the most important requirements for living a healthy life. By keeping the environment clean, we can truly thank Mother Earth. I hope you all enjoyed it, found some motivation to maintain cleanliness, and will encourage others to follow your lead.

Speech on the Importance of Cleanliness: Guide and Sample

Anushka kala.

  • Speech Writing

speech writing class 11 on cleanliness

Admit it, almost everyone has had to speak on the topic of ‘Cleanliness’, whether it’s school, college, or the workplace. It is, but ironical, that a topic so common and well-known would stump many a writer when asked to put pen to paper on the subject.

Here’s how you can write a speech on the importance of cleanliness , as well as, learn and follow a few universal techniques that could help you out for all your future speeches, as well!

Structuring Your Speech: Pointers to Help You Write a Great One

The most common dilemma is where to begin from. A vast topic like Cleanliness, can be approached through different perspectives.

Whatever your approach may be, always remember that you need to answer the 5Ws + 1H through your speech:

What (is cleanliness?) Why (is it important?) When (do we start?) Where (do we start from?) Who (is responsible?) How (can it be inculcated?)

1. Start Strong

The most memorable of speeches have a solid introduction. The opening is considered to be absolutely crucial as it determines the level of interest your audience will have.

Attention spans are at their peak in the beginning, and a speaker must take full advantage of that. Thus, you have to think out of the box.

When it comes to writing about cleanliness, a topic widely spoken about, one must try to go beyond the cliche.

Hence, if you start with a line as common as “Cleanliness is Godliness” or “Good morning, I’m here to talk about cleanliness”, you might lose out on the attention of your audience.

Instead, make it interactive. Don’t directly introduce yourself. Ask them a question and try to break the ice.

We have written an entire on  15 powerful speech openings with examples. Check it out to get some inspiration on how to start your speech!

2. What’s the Point?

speech writing class 11 on cleanliness

When a topic is allocated/chosen, it is important to know what the objective of your speech is .

This is possible only when you know your audience well enough to estimate what they wish to take away from your speech.

Of course, your speech must be comprehensive enough to cover all aspects of such a vast topic. But, it also shouldn’t be so vague and scattered, that the audience ends up missing the point.

Once you know what the objective of the speech is, you will automatically be able to know what to emphasise on when you structure your speech.

For example, if your speech on cleanliness is required to generate awareness and participate in a Cleanliness Drive, then enough emphasis needs to be laid on how important it is for one to be clean, not only individually, but also as a community.

3. Set the Tone

tone and voice modulation are required for public speaking

A speech on cleanliness can be delivered in scenarios innumerable– whether you’re a student, teacher, manager, or CEO, cleanliness is one aspect that is ubiquitous, irrespective of what your life entails.

Thus, the tone differs accordingly. If it’s a competition in school or college, the tone is formal, while if you’re campaigning for an initiative, the tone is more affirmative, driven, and demanding.

It is important to know what the situation demands, and set the tone with respect to that. Often, people underestimate the power of tonality.

Every quiver, inflection, pause, and emphasis counts. These help break the monotony of a speech, which would otherwise make it dull and uninteresting.

This article is all you need, to know about voice modulation and tonality.

4. Tell Them a Story

Aforementioned, the structure of the speech . We know how important it is to address the 5Ws + 1H through your speech, for a topic like cleanliness.

Apart from that, it is essential for one to keep a speech outline ready– basically, what you have to say, when.

Simply put, first comes the introduction , then comes the body , and lastly the conclusion . These are three, equally important aspects that formulate your speech.

The point of structuring your speech is to take your audience on a journey and give them some direction. The best of speakers don’t just speak, they narrate. They tell you a story , even if it isn’t theirs to tell and make you feel like you’re a part of what they’re saying.

Irrespective of the topic, the point is to have your audience wholly immerse themselves, throughout your story.

To take cleanliness as an example, a topic that’s not usually looked at as one to narrate about, try telling people stories from your own personal experiences– how you’ve come across unbearably filthy areas, and how it’s affected you and your family. Make it personal and take your audience with you on this journey.

5. The Trick of Theatrics

speech writing class 11 on cleanliness

Public speaking is a performance in itself. It isn’t restricted to simply speaking well-written material–that’s just half of it. The other half comes to delivery.

How you deliver your written material, is what will grab the attention of your audience.

When you take cleanliness, it is something that is to be inculcated consciously and imperatively. Thus, through your tone and gestures, you would have to convey that necessity and express the urgency of the situation.

This can be expressed through tone, gestures, body language , and eye contact.

Walk around, look your audience in the eye. Emote through the inflection in your tone. Use your hands ; gesture the necessity. This is how body language is used to convey what you feel.

This article will help you harness the power of body language.

6. The Endgame

Just like you started with a bang, you must also end it similarly. You seal the deal with a strong ending, leaving your audience spellbound, asking for more.

The graph of your speech should have an upward slope, and shouldn’t go down towards the end. The applause that you would command after ending on such a high note, would resonate throughout.

Your conclusion should reiterate your objective and summarise your speech. Once again, don’t stick to a cliche “Thank You” or “Hope you enjoyed this.”

If you notice, the best speeches never end on such notes. They either end with a strong quote or poem or leave by asking a question/ interacting with the audience.

When it comes to cleanliness, repeat and emphasize on the urgency–how cleanliness is the need of the hour. Leave them with a question, possibly around the grim future that must await, if adequate measures aren’t taken. Don’t end abruptly.

This article is the ultimate guide to help you end your speech, with maximum impact.

Sample Speech on the Importance of Cleanliness

Imagine feeling the warmth of the sun on your skin, as you place your feet in cool waters. You look up to see clear blue skies and all around you, there exists an endless beige, of velvet sands and an atmosphere of pure joy. That’s how I’d imagined it–a trip to the beach. Yet, I didn’t get that. Would you like to know why? Spotless, clear, cleansed, scrubbed– these are words we use to describe something clean. That’s what cleanliness, in a general sense is. A person is neat and clean, when they’re well-dressed and well-groomed, while an area is clean when dirt, plastic, and other materials aren’t strewn around. Anything clean attracts a person. It’s as simple as that. So, a few weeks ago, when I’d planned a trip to the beach with my friends, I was SO excited! It’d been ages since we’d made plans, and frankly, it was long overdue. “It’s a beach, what could go wrong?” is what I’d thought to myself. Little did I know… The day finally arrived, and there it was. I could see the beach from a distance. It looked just like I’d imagined it. We quickly removed our shoes, and placed our feet into the sand, when all of a sudden, I felt like my right foot hadn’t quite sunk into the sand, like my left one. I looked down and found a banana peel caught between my toes. That really sucked all the excitement out. I looked around and found plastic bottles, polythene bags, tin cans, paper plates, peelings, pieces of cloth–the list could go on. When did something so beautiful become tampered with? And who’s responsible? Even as we came closer to the waters, I could see remnants of garbage floating by, and suddenly, the beach just wasn’t as appealing anymore. With this late, yet sudden realisation, I couldn’t look at anything the same way. There’s garbage all around us. And, we’ve perhaps gotten so accustomed to it, that the heap of garbage on the corner of our street will just happen to stay and remain that way. Cleanliness- a term so multidimensional, that it invades every aspect of our lives. Some may even say that it’s a state of mind which translates onto our day-to-day activities. Yet, a fleeting thought– if we’re all so familiar with what cleanliness entails and how inculcating it improves our quality of life, why are we STILL in a position where it’s the need of the hour? How do we fix this? They say charity begins at home, and that’s where we begin. A simple reorganising of your closet, or room is a great start. Of course, it doesn’t end there. Start with your area of residence, make note of the kind of garbage disposal and recycling it uses, stay informed, and inform others, as well. You see, it’s very easy to pin the blame on others for ‘not doing their job’ when it comes to an unclean environment. But, what if, we’re somehow the root cause? Are we doing EVERYTHING we possibly can to make a difference? I started my speech by asking you to ‘imagine’ and envision something we’ve once had, and no more do. We’ve somehow found ourselves in a situation where the real has turned into the unreal, instead of it being the other way around. I started my speech by asking you to ‘imagine’, as that, unfortunately, is the only place you’d find bliss, so taintless and untouched. I started my speech by asking you to ‘imagine’, and I now end it with a sincere request. The time to do our bit starts from NOW. Every action counts. We owe it to our planet, society, and ourselves. Thank you for listening.

Download the sample speech on the Importance of Cleanliness here.

If you notice, in the sample speech above, the introduction isn’t a common “Good Morning”, rather a direct mention of the topic. A story has been added, to grip the audience, and certain words have been put in capitals, to help you understand where to emphasise on.

These guidelines will not only help you with your speech on cleanliness, but also, for other speeches as well!

Sample 1: Emphasizing the Importance of Cleanliness

According to John Wesley, “Cleanliness is next to godliness”.

Hello, respected principal, teachers, and my dear colleagues. I (Name of the Student) is here today to draw attention to the value of cleanliness to all of you.

Being or maintaining cleanliness is a quality or condition of being clean. Everyone needs to be educated on cleanliness, hygiene, and the various diseases that result from poor hygiene. It is crucial for maintaining a healthy environment at home, at school, and for physical well-being. An unclean atmosphere encourages a lot of mosquitos to breed and spread harmful diseases. On the other hand, inadequate personal hygiene lowers immunity and contributes to a number of skin conditions.

We should encourage children to wash their hands before and after meals, brush their teeth, and take regular baths. The "Swachh Bharat" campaign, launched by the Indian Prime Minister on October 2, 2014, aims to provide every family with access to sanitation services such as toilets, solid and liquid waste disposal systems, village cleanliness, and safe and appropriate drinking water sources.

The "Clean India Campaign" is being actively supported by teachers and students in schools.

Healthy bodies and minds promote broader productivity, higher living standards, and economic growth. As a result, a healthy environment is one that is clean and green. Cleanliness is thus regarded as a symbol of mental purity.

Sample 2: Corruption

Honorable principal, respected teachers, and my dear friends: I'm going to share my thoughts on the subject of "Corruption is an Evil and the Need to Crush It" today.

Corruption is the act of bribery and fraud committed in order to achieve personal objectives by engaging in unfair activities. This evil has existed in civilization from the beginning of time. This evil has spread to every industry and has evolved into a widespread practice.

What might lead somebody to engage in corruption? These could include a need for fame, wealth, power, and possessions. It is a ladder of achievement that people climb to the top of by abusing the rules and rules and regulations, employing improper favors, and strategies.

Many different kinds of corruption are common, including nepotism, carelessness of duty, theft of public resources, and fraud. The rights of the common man are being decreased because of corruption, which also hurts the image of our country.

Since we are the society's youth, we must get rid of our country of corruption. One of the largest anti-corruption movements in the history of the country is the one led by Anna Hazare for the Jan LokPal Bill.

Since corruption spreads from the bottom to the top, it needs to be stopped there. A monitoring committee should be in place with good monitoring to keep an eye on corrupt officials and their actions. Corrupt individuals should face severe penalties and punishment. We need to promote awareness among people, support them in speaking out, and help eliminate corruption.

The two main objectives of speech writing should be to communicate with the audience, and to encourage them to agree with what we have presented. A speech should usually include the following.

Introduction

The first thing to address in speech writing is what the speechwriter expects to accomplish. The goals will influence the structure and speech of the language, leading to more detailed insights.

  • The speech should be appropriate for the intended audience.
  • The most important sentence in a speech is the first sentence because it determines whether the audience will read it or not.
  • Depending on the topic and the purpose of the speech, the writer can captivate the audience with happy, sad, frightening or unexpected stories.

The majority of the speech writing format should be written to present ideas and supporting information. Students should concentrate on one idea at a time, and then fully examine it before moving on to the next.

  • They must provide smooth, logical flows from one information to the next.
  • When writing an informative or provocative speech, the writer should use the problem-and-solution and solution approach to structure it.
  • As a result, they should start out their speech by outlining what is wrong before moving on to how to fix it in the part that comes next.
  • Students must be careful to create a consistent tone for the speech.
  • The speech's overall tone communicates its original idea, which might range from sad to positive, humorous to demanding.
  • The language used and delivery manner will have an impact on the speech's tone.

While writing a conclusion for speech writing, students must highlight the primary reasons by summarizing key takeaways or providing one last example that perfectly supports what students have written in their speech.

  • Once the writer has finished writing their speech, they should go back to it several times to identify areas for improvement.
  • The conclusion should be written such that the viewers should take away something from the conclusion.
  • It might be a message, an appeal for support, or a summary of a speech.
  • Analyze the speech from top to bottom once students are done writing.
  • By doing this, the writer can assess whether it seems logical and identify if any difficult parts can be cut, worked out, or better explained.

Tips for Speech Writing

Some of the tips that students can follow while in speech writing are given below.

  • Make sure that the language that the students are using is appropriate for the audience they are speaking to.
  • Using references is suggested. Examples and references can be used as an opening statement or a closing sentence. Students can also add a quote in between the speech.
  • Students must make sure to use paragraphs when writing.
  • Study last year's question papers to get a brief idea of what topics students can expect in their coming exams..
  • Read editorials or opinions in the newspaper. They offer different perspectives and thoughts that could be useful in exams.
  • Students can write a list of all the important points on the rough sheet to ensure that they don't miss anything important while speech writing. This helps you in keeping a pattern, which is essential.
  • Presentation quality is important.
  • Make sure you check the content of the speech twice for spelling and grammatical errors.
  • Students must make sure there are enough lines in between paragraphs to make it look neat.
  • Always keep a few general phrases ready that can be added to speech writing. They act as a supporting factor to your speech.

Long and Short Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Speech in English for Students

From 2014 to 2019, the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) was a national fight to dispose of open faeces and develop urban and nationwide areas of strong waste management (SWM) in India. The important factors of this mission are covered in the below-given speeches on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The objectives of the mission included the destruction of manual searching, the creation of awareness and the achievement of a change of actions about sanitation practices, and the increase of sanitation facilities across the country.

Long and Short Speech on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan for Students and Children

Good morning to all of you present here. Today, I am going to speak on the topic, ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’. The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or Clean India Movement was launched on Gandhi Jayanti (145th birthday celebration of Mahatma Gandhi), on 2nd of October, in 2014 by India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. The Indian government administered this campaign, launched by our Prime Minister, all across the country.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan's cleanliness campaign was run at a national scale and encompassed all cities, districts, at both rural and urban levels. It has acted as a wonderful campaign to make people aware of the value of cleanliness. In Rajghat, New Delhi, the drive for Swachh Bharat was officially launched and our Prime Minister Narendra Modi cleaned the streets himself at the launch of this mission. It is the biggest cleanliness drive of India ever, with about 30 lakh government employees, school and college students participating in the activities.

Nine famous personalities from India were initially nominated by the Indian Prime Minister, for beginning this campaign in their respective states or areas and taking the campaign further. He asked all nine of those personalities to call on nine other individuals (such as a tree branch) to continue this series until each Indian joined the mission, as it was planned for the next 5 years.

The purpose of the mission is to assess certain important factors for the proper sanitation arrangements in the rural and urban parts of the country. These factors include the availability of individual sanitary toilets in low-cost sanitary lavatories, hand pumps, proper bathing, hygiene, drains, soak pits, solid and liquid waste disposal. Population growth is an important factor that has to be considered for making proper sanitation arrangements. This mission also aims to promote health and hygiene literacy, environmental and personal hygiene. The Government of India initiated sanitation programs under the name 'Total Sanitation Campaign' (TSC) for this mission, earlier on 1 April 1999, but it was not as successful even after taking effect. To eradicate pollution, India is in desperate need of a cleanliness campaign like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. It is important in terms of health and well-being for the overall development of people.

Since the majority of India's population lives in rural areas, it is a big issue to spread awareness about cleanliness. Generally, people don't have adequate toilet facilities in these regions. They go out to excrete on fields or highways. For residents, this activity causes a lot of hygiene issues. This Clean India Mission may, therefore, be of great help to improve the living conditions of these individuals. As rural areas are the main focus of this mission, the quality of life of rural people will be improved by it. Most notably, it promotes public health through its goals. India is one of the world's most populated and polluted nations, and this mission will change the scenario. What's more, Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of ideal India will be fulfilled that day when we achieve the objectives of this mission. Let's promise ourselves to do this.

Short Elocution on Swachh Bharat

Here’s a short Swachh Bharat Abhiyan speech in English, covering the major factors of the mission of cleaning India.

Today, I am here to present my opinion on ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’. 'Swachh Bharat Project' is a significant campaign in India, and on the day of its launch, around 3 million government employees and students took part in it. This project seeks active participation by individuals of any age group from all corners of the country. This movement was launched on October 2, 2014 (Mahatma Gandhi's 145th birth anniversary) to achieve the 'Swachh Bharat' dream of Mahatma Gandhi.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan's goals include access to personal toilets, eliminating defecation in the open, raising public awareness about cleanliness, using toilets among ordinary people, encouraging change of behaviour, keeping villages clean, proper disposal of solid, and liquid wastes. Due to poverty, lack of education, lack of cleanliness, and other social problems, India is still a developing nation.

We need to eradicate all the issues that hamper the growth and development of our nation from society. I believe that the Sanitation Campaign is the best way to put an end to one of the major social problems of society and to facilitate the development of the country through the development of its people. Big positive change in India can only be brought about by the success of the Sanitation Campaign. It is connected to the internal and external growth and development of all those living in India, which tells us that the slogan of "clean, happy, and healthy citizens who provide a healthy and developed nation" is great.

10 Lines on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Speech

The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched  On 2nd October 2014, at Raj-Ghat New Delhi.

The goal of this campaign was to free India from unhealthy and open defecation by 2 October 2019.

The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is administered in rural areas by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, while in urban areas by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

The campaign also aims to instill a sense of cleanliness and hygiene in individuals, in addition to keeping India clean.

With over 3 million government employees and students involved directly, it is by far the biggest Indian initiative.

The Government of India provides monetary subsidies to houses for the construction of toilets.

Procedures for converting waste to energy and compost are also included in the objectives of this mission.

The number of people defecating publicly fell dramatically from 550 million to about 150 million within four years of the initiative.

Government data indicate that by 2018, approximately 3.25 lakh villages in India were declared free of open defecation.

The Abhiyan also involves tasks such as the collection of waste from door to door and its proper disposal.

Speech on Cleanliness

Cleanliness speech – 1.

Good morning to the sir, madam and my friends. My name is … I study in class … Today, I will recite a speech on cleanliness. I have especially selected this topic because of much importance of it in our daily lives. Actually, the means of cleanliness is the complete absence of dirt, dust, stains, and bad smells at home, working places or surrounding areas. The most important purpose of maintaining cleanliness is to get health, beauty, remove offensive odor as well as avoid the spread of dirt and contaminants. We clean our teeth, clothes, body, hair on daily basis in order to get freshness and achieving cleanliness.

We use variety of products and water to clean different things accordingly. What we see with our eyes is that, cleaning helps us to remove dirt and bad odour. However, what we do not see with our eyes is that, cleaning also removes harmful microorganisms (like bacteria, virus, fungus, algae, etc) from the things. It keeps us healthy and away from variety of diseases especially caused by the harmful microorganisms. According to the germ theory of disease, cleaning means the total absence of germs. In some industrial processes, it requires exceptional cleanliness which is achieved especially in the clean rooms. Presence of dirt and bad odour may decrease the power of our immune system.

Commonly, there are two types of cleanliness, one is physical cleanliness and another is internal cleanliness. Physical cleanliness keeps us clean from outside and gives us feeling of wellbeing with confidence. However, internal cleanliness keeps us mentally peaceful and away from anxiety. Internal cleanliness means a mind absence of dirty, bad and negative thinking. Keeping the heart, body and mind clean and peaceful is the complete cleanliness. However, we also need to keep clean our surrounding areas so that we can live in a healthy and clean environment. It will keep us away from the epidemic diseases and give us the feeling of social wellbeing.

There is a very old saying that “cleanliness is next to godliness”. It is well said by the John Wesley. Cleanliness should be given a priority in all the homes from the childhood so that a little one can practice it as a habit and can be benefitted all through the life. Cleanliness is like a good habit which not only benefits a person, however; it benefits the family, society and country and thus whole planet. It can be developed at any age however best to practice it from the childhood. I, as a child requesting to all the parents that please help your kids to practice this habit as it is you who can give this country a good citizen.

Cleanliness Speech – 2

Good morning to the respected Principal sir, sir, madam and dear colleagues. I … studying in class … standard would like to speech on cleanliness at this event. Cleanliness is a good habit; it keeps us happy physically, mentally, socially and intellectually. It is very true that cleanliness begins at home. The sign of cleanliness is a well managed place whether it is a home, working place, school, college, government or private buildings, hotel, restaurant, airport, railways station, etc. The level of cleanliness should be high which is possible if everyone shows his/her effort. It is not the act of one person. It needs regular support and proper understanding from the end of each person.

Cleanliness attracts positive energies towards it and it can impress anyone. Cleanliness level becomes generally high in the developed countries because of the good citizens, strict government rules, high education level and proper understanding of the people. A person with good habits can change the environment of a home however a country with good citizens can change its future as well as the environment of whole planet. In order to show our real potential all through the world, we have to maintain cleanliness all across the country. It is the only thing which can earn respect because a big land, power, and rich natural resources does not matter in the lack of cleanliness.

The maintenance of cleanliness in any country depends on the education level, poverty, and population of the country. The most important factor is education as good education can reduce the poverty level and provide relief from the over population. If the citizens of the country will be educated they can well maintain the cleanliness all through the country. They can pass good habits to their next generation also. Number of cleanliness drives has been run by the government of India however never get much success because of high level illiteracy. The most recent cleanliness drive named as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan run the Indian PM, Narendra Modi, is quite successful.

It is very serious topic and we have to maintain cleanliness in our country, which can be better started from our homes, if we really want development in India. We have to understand that our country is our home and then no problem will be there. As being the citizen of the country, we all are responsible for cleaning any dirty place we see. We should keep our roads, tourist places, historical places, schools, colleges, office buildings, etc very neat and clean.

Cleanliness Speech – 3

Good morning to the Principal mam, sir, madam and my dear friends. I … studying in class … standard, would like to speech on cleanliness. I am very grateful to my class teacher that she has given me such a great opportunity to recite a speech on cleanliness at this event. My dear friends, we all are good people, no one is bad. Then why we are making our future bad and diseased by spreading dirty things and wastes everywhere. Our country is our home; we should not make it dirty. We get respect as an Indian in the abroad so our country is our identity on this planet. It is our responsibility to keep it clean and bright so that it can earn more respect worldwide.

We keep our homes clean then why not our schools, colleges, roads, offices, tourist places, stations, etc all through the country. We only remember that we have to clean a place where we live, means a home only. But why we do not remember that our country is our main home. Our home is our identity within the country however our country is our identity outside the country means in abroad. We are responsible citizens of it then we have to make it clean and no one else. In order to get respect from others, first we have to respect our property and keep it clean.

We keep our homes and religious places clean and do not wear shoes or slippers inside, so that they can be clean. But, on the other hand, we follow wrong practices and spit out on the roads, corners of office buildings, etc. We throw wastes on the roads or corners of the colony; what is this? I am asking what this is. I am not saying that I am only good or I never involved in such activities. I am just saying that how long we will be unconscious and involved in such type of unconscious activities. When the day will come, we will be much conscious every moment so that such bad activities cannot be happened. If we are not trying to keep our country clean then how we will protect tourists from other countries from making it dirty.

I think, none of the day is better than today. Today is the day when we should promise ourselves and our mother country that we will keep it clean forever and never make it dirty in future. Just think that, how bright our homes and whole country look at Diwali, what will happen if it look daily. If the cleanliness only at Diwali can give us confidence, power and positive energy for the whole year, then again think that, can we not get power, confidence, positive energy, a healthy life, a healthy environment, and positive attitude of other countries worldwide forever.

Cleanliness Speech – 4

Good morning to the Excellencies, Principal sir, sir, madam and my dear friends. At this event, I would like to speech on cleanliness. I am very thankful to my class teacher that she has selected me to speech on cleanliness at this event. It is the serious topic and needs high level social awareness. People in the developed countries (Western Europe and North America) never depend on the authorities sweeping as they never dirt their roads or surrounding areas. They do themselves on daily basis. We too have to take such effective steps to clean our country. We should not wait any authority sweeper that he/she will pick up the broom and clean our surrounding areas and roads.

First we should not make public places dirty and if it happens, we have to clean it as only we are responsible. This responsibility needs to be understood by every Indian citizen. There is need to change our mentality as only this can keep India clean. Lots of cleaning resources and measures cannot be effective enough to keep India clean until we change our mind that whole country is like our home and we need to keep it clean. It is our property, not other’s. We need to understand that, a country is like a home in which various family members live in joint family.

As we suppose that, things inside the home are our own property and we never make them dirty and spoil. In the same way, we need to suppose that, everything outside the home is also our own property and we should never make them dirty and keep clean. We can change the drastic situation of our country through collective ownership. Instead of infrastructure improvements, effective plants for wastes treatment from industries, agriculture, and other fields, laws and rules by government, etc; we need to think and consider our own responsibility using our own mind and effort. It is not the responsibility of government only; it is the collective responsibility of each and every Indian citizen.

It is true that we cannot clean the whole country in a day or year, however; it will be our big hand if we stop making filthy the public places in India. It is our responsibility to stop ourselves as well as others who are making India’s public property filthy. As we generally see in our family that, every member has some particular responsibility (someone for sweeping, someone for cleaning, someone for bringing vegetables, someone for outside works, etc) and he/she has to do that timely in anyway. Just like that, if all the Indians take responsibility (of cleanliness and prevent from getting dirty) for small space in the surrounding areas, I think that, the day is not so far when we will see cleanliness everywhere all through the country.

Before starting any cleanliness drive, we have to make sure that we have a clean mind first. Cleanliness is not only necessary to get good impression from others; however it is very important for the healthy mind, body, spirit, and environment. As we care for our body to be clean, we must care for our country too.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (or Clean India Mission) is a clean India drive run by the Government of India to cover around 4,041 statutory cities and towns of India to clean the roads, streets, and making better infrastructure of the country. We should respect and follow this national campaign and support it through our every possible effort.

Speech on Cleanliness is Next to Godliness

Fresh Reads

You are Ronak/ Rani of class XI. Your teacher has asked you to deliver a speech on the topic ‘Cleanliness is Next to Godliness’ in the morning assembly. Write the speech in not more than 150–200 words.

Good morning to one and all present. Today, I Ronak of XI B, got the golden opportunity to express my views on the topic ‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness’.

An old proverb says, “Cleanliness is next to Godliness.” This means that cleanliness comes next to Godliness in importance.

Cleanliness of the body is necessary for physical health. Dirt and disease go together. Disease causing germs breed and thrive in dirt; and the epidemic diseases which sweep over a country and carry off thousands, are generally the results of the dirty habits and surroundings of the people. Not only the regular washing of hands and face, but the frequent and thorough bathing of the whole body, and wearing clean clothes, are conditions of good health.

To keep our house and neighbourhood clean is our utmost obligation as it is the only remedy available for national health and hygiene. Dirt and refuse are the causes of sickness and sufferings, which ultimately give rise to diseases and epidemics. Plagues and epidemics that set in are called by filthy and insanitary hygienic conditions. So it is a prime duty of every citizen to ensure that public places and our surroundings are not littered.

A great percentage of our population lives below the poverty line. Slums in metropolitan areas are inhabited by these poor people, most of them have migrated from villages. Unable to earn a decent means of living, they live in huts having no proper sanitation or drinking water.

The uneducated people need to be instructed in civics and cleaning surroundings. Cleanliness of body leads to the cleanliness of mind, and thereby to the soul.

Cleanliness is a state of purity, clarity, and precision.

A warm welcome to everyone present over here. As I said, cleanliness is an essential part of our lives. I am glad that I am allowed to speak on such an important topic. A healthy environment is our necessity; a number of factors lie within us how to maintain this necessity of ours. It is essential to keep our surrounding clean, which is the responsibility of every Indian citizen. The air we breathe in, the surrounding we live, the house we stay in & the workplace we work in, keeping everything neat & clean is an essential & crucial part of our life.

In Indian culture, it has been repeated since ages that god & goddess resides in the clean place. So it is one of the Indian rituals to clean our houses & surrounding during festivals or occasions. Lack of cleanliness leads to several problems. If hygiene & cleanliness is not maintained, we end up in different types of deadly diseases & germs, which may even take our lives. Now the question is how to maintain it? It starts from ourselves; we all must first keep ourselves clean.

Brush your teeth twice daily, washing your hands frequently, wearing cleaned clothes, taking a bath daily, cutting nails regularly, washing of fruits & vegetables before eating, putting back things in place, always ensuring that garbage is thrown in dustbin & many more. These are a few steps which are required to be taken to maintain personal hygiene which will ensure our & our home cleanliness. Personal hygiene has become very crucial to fight against the coronavirus pandemic we are facing now.

We are so much cautious about ourselves & our homes, but what about the mother earth? Have anyone given a thought? It is a home for millions of plants, animals, birds, aquatic animals as well as for all of us. Earth is our home which must be taken care of. In 2014 our government took a step “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” to clean the whole country & it is now the top priority for all.

It is our responsibility to ensure that we keep our country & earth clean. Avoiding the usage of plastic, recycling used plastic, using dustbin, avoiding spitting & many more small steps can lead us in the path of success. We all must make cleanliness a practice & a habit. It must be incorporated into the child from the very beginning. We need to aware of the people around us regarding the importance it plays in our life. So let us get together on this journey to make a healthier nation & world.

The garbage must be thrown in the dustbin. We all must not litter anything at home. Keeping washrooms clean is one of our responsibility. Use of paper bags must be done instead of plastic. Plastic bottles, containers must be recycled & reused. Now when it comes to mother earth, we all must ensure that our surrounding is clean & it is done regularly. Use of dustbin must be promoted. The Swachh Bharat Mission by our government which aims to clean the nation must be observed actively in our surrounding.

As the future of the nation, it is our responsibility to take care of our earth. Besides keeping ourselves hygienic, we all must also focus on keeping our surroundings clean. If we fail to do so, we may end up in some deadly disease for everyone around us. So let us pledge today to take all the steps which will make our surroundings better.

Speech writing is the art of using proper grammar and expression to convey a thought or message to a reader. Speech writing isn’t all that distinct from other types of narrative writing. However, students should be aware of certain distinct punctuation and writing style techniques. While writing the ideal speech might be challenging, sticking to the appropriate speech writing structure will ensure that you never fall short.

“There are three things to aim at in public speaking: first, to get into your subject, then to get your subject into yourself, and lastly, to get your subject into the heart of your audience.”- Alexander Gregg

The English language includes eight parts of speech i.e. nouns , pronouns , verbs , adjectives 410 , adverbs , prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections.

  • Noun- A noun is a word that describes anything, such as an animal, a person, a place, or an emotion. Nouns are the building blocks for most sentences.
  • Pronoun – Pronouns are words that can be used in place of nouns. They are used so that we don’t have to repeat words. This makes our writing and speaking much more natural.
  • Verb – A verb is a term that implies activity or ‘doing.’ These are very vital for your children’s grammar studies, as a sentence cannot be complete without a verb.
  • Adjective – An adjective is a term that describes something. An adjective is frequently used before a noun to add extra information or description.
  • Prepositions- A preposition is a term that expresses the location or timing of something in relation to something else.
  • Conjunction- Because every language has its own set of conjunctions, English conjunctions differ from those found in other languages. They’re typically used as a connecting word between two statements, concepts, or ideas.
  • Interjections- Interjections are words that are used to describe a strong emotion or a sudden feeling.

The way you start your English speech can set the tone for the remainder of it. This semester, there are a variety of options for you to begin presentations in your classes. For example, try some of these engaging speech in English language starters.

  • Rhetorical questions : A rhetorical question is a figure of speech that uses a question to convey a point rather than asking for a response. The answer to a rhetorical question may be clear, yet the questioner asks it to emphasize the point. Rhetorical questions may be a good method for students to start their English speeches. This method of introducing your material might be appealing to the viewers and encourage them to consider how they personally relate to your issue.
  • Statistics: When making an instructive or persuasive speech in an English class, statistics can help to strengthen the speaker’s authority and understanding of the subject. To get your point over quickly and create an emotional response, try using an unexpected statistic or fact that will resonate with the audience.
  • Set up an imaginary scene: Create an imaginary situation in your audience’s thoughts if you want to persuade them to agree with you with your speech. This method of starting your speech assists each member of the audience in visualizing a fantastic scenario that you wish to see come true.

Format of Speech Writing

Here is the format of Speech Writing:

  • Introduction : Greet the audience, tell them about yourself and further introduce the topic.
  • Body : Present the topic in an elaborate way, explaining its key features, pros and cons, if any and the like.
  • Conclusion : Summary of your speech, wrap up the topic and leave your audience with a compelling reminder to think about!

Let’s further understand each element of the format of Speech Writing in further detail:

After the greetings, the Introduction has to be attention-getting. Quickly get people’s attention. The goal of a speech is to engage the audience and persuade them to think or act in your favour. The introduction must effectively include:

  • A brief preview of your topic.
  • Define the outlines of your speech. (For example, I’ll be talking about…First..Second…Third)
  • Begin with a story, quote, fact, joke, or observation in the room. It shouldn’t be longer than 3-4 lines. (For Example: “Mahatma Gandhi said once…”, or “This topic reminds me of an incident/story…”)

This part is also important because that’s when your audience decides if the speech is worth their time. Keep your introduction factual, interesting, and convincing.

It is the most important part of any speech. You should provide a number of reasons and arguments to convince the audience to agree with you.

Handling objections is an important aspect of speech composition. There is no time for questions or concerns since a speech is a monologue. Any concerns that may occur during the speech will be addressed by a powerful speech. As a result, you’ll be able to respond to questions as they come in from the crowd. To make speech simpler you can prepare a flow chart of the details in a systematic way.

For example: If your speech is about waste management; distribute information and arrange it according to subparagraphs for your reference. It could include:

  • What is Waste Management?
  • Major techniques used to manage waste
  • Advantages of Waste Management
  • Importance of Waste Management

The conclusion should be something that the audience takes with them. It could be a reminder, a collective call to action, a summary of your speech, or a story. For example: “It is upon us to choose the fate of our home, the earth by choosing to begin waste management at our personal spaces.”

After concluding, add a few lines of gratitude to the audience for their time.

For example: “Thank you for being a wonderful audience and lending me your time. Hope this speech gave you something to take away.”

Speech Writing Examples

Here are some examples to help you understand how to write a good speech. Read these to prepare for your next speech:

Write a speech to be delivered in the school assembly as Rahul/ Rubaina of Delhi Public School emphasises the importance of cleanliness, implying that the level of cleanliness represents the character of its residents. (150-200 words)

“Cleanliness is next to godliness,” said the great John Wesley. Hello, respected principal, instructors, and good friends. Today, I, Rahul/Rubaina, stand in front of you all to emphasise the significance of cleanliness.

Cleanliness is the condition or attribute of being or remaining clean. Everyone must learn about cleaning, hygiene, sanitation, and the different diseases that are produced by unsanitary circumstances. It is essential for physical well-being and the maintenance of a healthy atmosphere at home and at school. A filthy atmosphere invites a large number of mosquitos to grow and spread dangerous diseases. On the other side, poor personal cleanliness causes a variety of skin disorders as well as lowered immunity.

Habits formed at a young age become ingrained in one’s personality. Even if we teach our children to wash their hands before and after meals, brush their teeth and bathe on a regular basis, we are unconcerned about keeping public places clean. On October 2, 2014, the Indian Prime Minister began the “Swachh Bharat” programme to offer sanitation amenities to every family, including toilets, solid and liquid waste disposal systems, village cleanliness, and safe and appropriate drinking water supplies. Teachers and children in schools are actively participating in the ‘Clean India Campaign’ with zeal and excitement.

Good health ensures a healthy mind, which leads to better overall productivity, higher living standards, and economic development. It will improve India’s international standing. As a result, a clean environment is a green environment with fewer illnesses. Thus, cleanliness is defined as a symbol of mental purity.

Thank you very much.

You are Sahil/Sanya, the school’s Head Girl/Head Boy. You are greatly troubled by the increasing instances of aggressive behaviour among your students. You decide to speak about it during the morning assembly. Create a speech about “School Discipline.” (150 – 200 words)

INDISCIPLINE IN SCHOOLS,

It has been reported that the frequency of fights and incidences of bullying in our school has increased dramatically in the previous several months. Good morning to everyone present. Today, I, Sahil/Sanya, your head boy/girl, am here to shed light on the serious topic of “Increased Indiscipline in Schools.”

It has come to light that instructor disobedience, bullying, confrontations with students, truancy, and insults are becoming more widespread. Furthermore, there have been reports of parents noticing a shift in their children’s attitudes. As a result, many children are suffering emotionally, psychologically, and physically. The impact of this mindset on children at a young age is devastating and irreversible.

Not to mention the harm done to the school’s property. Theft of chalk, scribbling on desks, walls and lavatory doors, destruction of CCTV cameras and so forth. We are merely depriving ourselves of the comforts granted to us by doing so.

Following numerous meetings, it was determined that the main reasons for the problem were a lack of sufficient guidance, excessive use of social media, and peer pressure. The council is working to make things better. Everyone is required to take life skills classes. Counselling, motivating, and instilling friendly ideals will be part of the curriculum. Seminars for parents and students will be held on a regular basis.

A counsellor is being made available to help you all discuss your sentiments, grudges, and personal problems. We are doing everything we can and expect you to do the same.

So, let us work together to create an environment in which we encourage, motivate, assist, and be nice to one another because we are good and civilised humans capable of a great deal of love.

The current increase in incidences of violent student misbehaviour is cause for alarm for everyone. Students who learn how to manage their anger can help to alleviate the situation. Write a 150-200-word speech about the topic to be delivered at the school’s morning assembly. (10)

HOW TO CONTROL ANGER

Honourable Principal, Respected Teachers, and Dear Friends, I’d like to share a few “Ways to Manage Anger” with you today.

The growing intolerance among the younger generation, which is resulting in violence against teachers, is cause for severe concern. The guru-shishya parampara is losing its lustre. Aggressive behaviour in students can be provoked by a variety of factors, including self-defence, stressful circumstance, over-stimulation, or a lack of adult supervision.

It has become imperative to address the situation. Life skills workshops will be included in the curriculum. Teachers should be trained to deal with such stubborn and confrontational behaviours. Meditation and deep breathing are very beneficial and should be practised every morning. Students should be taught to count to ten before reacting angrily. Sessions on anger control and its importance must also be held.

Remember that Anger is one letter away from danger. It becomes much more crucial to be able to control one’s rage. It’s never too late to start, as a wise man once said.

“Every minute you stay angry, you lose sixty seconds of peace of mind.”

Martin Luther King Jr’s ‘I Have A Dream’ is one of his most famous speeches. Its impact has lasted through generations. The speech is written by utilising the techniques above. Here are some examples:

“In a sense, we’ve come to our nation’s capital to cash a check” – personalising the speech

“to stand up for freedom together” – a call to action.

English Summary

Short Speech on Cleanliness in English for Students and children

Respected Principal, teachers, and my dear friends.

Good morning to all of you.

Today I am going to speak on the topic- Cleanliness.

Cleanliness is an important aspect of healthy living. It is a state of being clean which means free from dirt and germs. The habit of maintaining cleanliness is as important as consuming food, drinking water and breathing.

This habit should be encouraged right from childhood as cleanliness is considered next to godliness which means maintaining cleanliness is just like devoting yourself to God.

It is considered so important because it helps us prevent many kinds of diseases. When we keep ourselves clean and also our surroundings clean, we protect ourselves from various kinds of viruses and bad bacterias that can make us fall ill.

It not only prevents various diseases but also keeps us and our surroundings look beautiful. A clean place always looks very attractive and neat.

There are ways to maintain cleanliness around us. It is not very difficult. A small effort by all of us can keep us and our surroundings clean. For personal cleanliness, we should take bath daily, wash our hands before and after a meal, brush our teeth twice a day, comb our hair daily, etc.

To keep our surroundings clean, we should always throw garbage in the dust bin, clean our surroundings with the help of a mop and broom, always pick up in case there is a drop on the floor while eating, etc.

Sometimes we focus only on personal hygiene or cleanliness of the house but not of our surroundings. For example, throwing garbage on the road after cleaning the house. This is not the right thing to do.

Maintaining cleanliness in our surroundings is as important as cleanliness in our house. So we should never throw a toffee wrapper or an empty can on the road. In the case of no dust bin nearby, we should wait to dispose of it properly.

It is very easy to create a mess but it takes a lot of effort to clean. We should always take small steps towards maintaining cleanliness and avoid actions that spoil the beauty around us.

There are two reasons for this. (c) ………………………………… . Speech on Cleanliness

Cleanliness has been given due importance in historical texts. Also, many of the world’s personalities have stressed upon maintaining a certain level of cleanliness and personal hygiene. I am giving three speeches of varying lengths on cleanliness for my readers.

Short and Long Speech on Cleanliness

Cleanliness is very important topic for speech recitation generally this topic is given to student for competition and general purpose in schools. Here we are providing 2 , 3 and 6 minutes long and short speeches on Cleanliness.

2 Minutes Speech on Cleanliness

Good Morning my Dear friends, Respected Principal sir and teachers. I am here to give a speech on Cleanliness. I am thankful to Principal Sir for giving me this opportunity.

Cleanliness is a habit, a way of life. We all have this habit in us; though, the level of it varies from person to person. Some of us like to be impeccably clean while others can be little negligent. Some might like to keep their homes shining brightly while some are more concerned about bodily cleanliness.

Also, some of us feel accountability towards environment cleanliness, than others who are more concerned about the cleanliness of their own personal dwellings.

There is a huge disparity of thoughts, beliefs, and acts, from person to person, as far as cleanliness is concerned. But that doesn’t change the definition of cleanliness and its significance in any way.

We must understand that both personal, as well as environmental cleanliness, are equally essential. We must be responsible to our surroundings as we are towards our own body and house. The true essence of cleanliness lies in a clean personality as well as a clean society.

I am glad that people are becoming more and more concerned about environmental cleanliness as they are for their own personal cleanliness and hygiene. It is a good sign and we just need to keep it up. Thank You!

3 Minutes Speech on Cleanliness

Good Morning everyone -Respected Principal Sir, teachers, and my dear friends. I am here to give a speech on cleanliness.

Believe it or not, but cleanliness is an essential requirement for a nation and its people to progress. A nation can only progress if its people are clean, both personally and communally.

Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation, had once said that cleanliness is more essential than freedom. He believed that there was an urgent need for a clean society than for freedom.

Cleanliness is very important for it is directly related to so many essential parts of life and hygiene. First of all, cleanliness is directly related to health. If one stays unclean and unhygienic, he/she is prone to diseases and infection.

Moreover, if we litter around and make our neighbourhood dirty, we are only damaging our own resources. Sooner or later such acts will only harm our own health and well-being. It doesn’t make sense to damage our own natural resources, essential for life.

The sense of cleanliness should be imparted at a very early age. Because lessons learned at an early age are never forgotten. Children must be taught about the importance of cleanliness. They must be taught about maintaining personal cleanliness as well as the environmental cleanliness.

When the children of today understand the importance of cleanliness, believe me, that the future of India would be as clean as ever. Also, programs like ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ have been great initiatives and proved successful. Swachh Bharat Mission has been successful as a mass movement. Today, we have become open defecation free and I am also happy that we are becoming more responsible towards the cleanliness of the nation and our environment.

With this I would like to end my speech, hoping that we would keep the same tempo for cleanliness as we do today. Thank You!!

6 Minutes Speech on Cleanliness

A very warm welcome to Respected Principal Sir, teachers, and my entire friends present here. Today I have been given the opportunity to give a speech on cleanliness from this dais, and I am thankful for that to the management of our school and the Principal Sir.

Let’s begin with the views of Mahatma Gandhi on cleanliness. The father of the nation once said “We can no more gain God’s blessings with an unclean body than with an unclean mind. A clean body cannot reside in an unclean city”. This certainly tells about the significance that he gave to the physical cleanliness as well as mental cleanliness. Mahatma Gandhi took cleanliness to the level of spirituality.

He was strictly against spitting in public and open defecation. In fact, he had also once stated that the lavatory should be as clean as the drawing-room. His thoughts on cleanliness were correct and I could only wish that we follow them the same way as we revere him.

We have to understand that cleanliness is not only a personal habit but social accountability as well. We must not only keep our bodies and houses clean but we also have a responsibility towards the environment we live in and its inhabitants.

It’s illogical that we take bath twice daily and keep our house impeccably clean, but defecate in the open and pollute the environment or litter in the neighbourhood. That would only be a mockery of cleanliness in the most hypocritic way.

Someone, whose name I would not like to reveal here, once said –“Indians are personally clean but communally dirty”. Painful it might be but it is also true! The majority of us, only care about how clean we ourselves and our houses look and are callously negligent when it comes to the cleanliness of our streets, roads, or other public places.

Would you spit in your own house as you do on roads, walls, and other places? No, you wouldn’t! That’s because you feel a sense of responsibility for your house but not for your environment. This very basic thought has to be changed. We need to feel more responsibility towards the cleanliness of our environment the same as we feel towards our own houses. It’s only when we start considering the whole environment as an essential part of our dwelling that things will change for good.

Please pardon me for I am going to tell you what the citizens of some other countries think about Indians. Some citizens of some foreign countries perceive Indians as filthy and untidy. I am not going to name any country, but it is a fact that global perception about Indians on cleanliness is as such. But that is only on cleanliness and we Indians excel in any other sphere, even on foreign land.

But, still there is a need for change. We must diminish this belief about Indians being dirty and prove the critics wrong. Can you imagine how painful to Bapu this whole perception about Indian cleanliness would have been if he was alive today?

Friends we should break this shell of beliefs that cocoons our true essence. We Indians had been the cleanest for millenniums. Our religious texts have stated cleanliness to be a way of life. It’s just that we have become a little lousy sometime down the line. But still, we can change and bring back that lost glory. I strongly believe that India will again one day join the league of cleanest nations of the planet.

There would soon be a day when people around the globe will consider Indians as clean, both personally as well as communally. With this I would like to end my speech, hoping that we all begin a new fight against filthiness and untidiness and fight for a clean society and clean India. Jai Hind!!

Speech On Cleanliness In English

Speech On Cleanliness In English - 1700 in words

Cleanliness is an integral part of our life and we have been learning it since childhood and with age it becomes our habit. We learn other behavior from childhood like speaking, walking, in the same way we are also taught cleanliness, you can take an example of a small child who starts crying instead of doing it in bed whenever he has to go to the toilet. No matter what age we are, cleanliness always walks with us. We should take care of cleanliness throughout our life.

Long and Short Speech on Cleanliness in English

Respected Principal Sir, Vice-Principal Sir, Teachers and my dear friends, today I want to speak a few words on cleanliness in front of all of you and hope that all of you will definitely find it informative.

Cleanliness is an integral part of our healthy life and life without cleanliness is probably not possible. Because dirt is the home of germs and which gives rise to various types of diseases. We teach children some good habits from the beginning and also teach them to keep their environment clean. Along with our physical cleanliness, the cleanliness of the surrounding places is also necessary.

Similarly, as a responsible citizen, it is our duty to keep our country clean as well. India is like our home and as we keep our house clean, we should also think about our country. As much as the purification of physical, mental thoughts is necessary in our life, there is a need for cleanliness around us. So be a responsible citizen and adopt cleanliness.

Adopt cleanliness and take the country forward.

Respected Principal Sir, Vice-Principal Sir, Teachers and my dear friends, today I want to speak a few words in front of all of you regarding cleanliness and want to explain its importance in my own words.

A healthy mind resides in a healthy body and for a healthy body, it is very important to have a healthy environment. Our body can remain healthy only when our environment is also clean and it is our duty that our country is always clean.

Cleanliness is a very important topic which cannot be ignored. It is true that every child is taught the lesson of cleanliness in his house, but we should not limit its adherence to the house only. We should also use cleanliness in the interest of the environment around us and the country. Keeping this in mind, Prime Minister Modi started the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, whose main objective is to increase cleanliness in the country and to advance the pace of development in the country. If the country is clean, diseases will spread less and people will fall ill less. Due to which less money of the country will be spent in diseases and the pace of development of the country will increase further.

We need external cleanliness as well as internal cleanliness. Inner cleanliness refers to the purification of our inner thoughts. We should keep our thoughts clean and should not have hatred for anyone. When a person is clean in all ways external and internal, then no one can stop that country from progressing. Because everyone wants each other's good. In this way we learned about the universal development of cleanliness and hope that you will definitely apply it in your practice.

Good morning sir, madam and my dear friends. my name is. I study in class........ Today I want to give a speech on cleanliness. I have chosen this topic especially because of its great importance in our daily life. In fact, the real meaning of cleanliness is the complete absence of dirt, dust, filthiness and foul, foul smell from homes, workplaces or the environment around us. The main objective of maintaining cleanliness is to maintain health, beauty, remove offensive odor as well as avoid the spread of dirt and filth. We clean our teeth, clothes, body, hair on a daily basis to achieve freshness and cleanliness.

We use a variety of products and water to clean different items. Just like we use toothpaste for cleaning teeth, in earlier times people used to use neem teeth. But their unavailability due to urbanization has debarred us from the use of toothpaste. In the same way we clean our hair, nails and skin.

Because there are some germs everywhere, which we do not see with our eyes and cleaning is helpful in removing these harmful micro-organisms (like bacteria, viruses, fungi, fungi, algae etc.). Cleanliness keeps us healthy and keeps away various types of diseases, which are spread by harmful bacteria. According to the bacterial theory of disease, cleanliness refers to the complete absence of germs. The presence of dirt and smell can reduce the power of our immune system.

Generally there are two types of cleanliness, first physical cleanliness and second internal cleanliness. Physical cleanliness keeps us clean from outside and makes us feel comfortable with confidence. But, inner cleanliness gives us peace of mind and removes us from worries. Internal cleanliness refers to the absence of bad, bad and negative thinking in the mind. Complete cleanliness is to keep the heart, body and mind clean and saiyam in all. Yet we also need to keep our surroundings clean so that we can live in a clean and healthy environment. It will keep us away from epidemic diseases and give us a sense of social welfare.

There is an old saying that “Cleanliness is more than devotion”. It has been rightly said by John Wesley. Cleanliness should be given priority in all households from childhood so that it becomes a habit from the childhood practice of young children and is beneficial for all life. Cleanliness is like that good habit, which not only benefits an individual, but, it also benefits a family, society and country and thus the whole planet. It can be developed at any age, however, it is best to stay in practice from childhood. As a child, I request all the parents to inculcate this habit in their children because you are the one who can make this country a good citizen.

Cleanliness is the biggest identity.

  • Farewell Speech For Colleagues
  • Speech On Education

My humble good morning to all the dignitaries, principal, teachers, teachers and my dear colleagues. On this occasion, I want to give a speech on the topic of cleanliness. I am very grateful to my class teacher who chose me to deliver the speech on this occasion. This is a very serious subject and requires a high level of social awareness.

People in developed countries (Western Europe and North America) do not depend on sanitation workers, because they themselves never dirty their streets or the environment around them, they do it on a daily basis. We should also take some such effective steps to keep our country clean. We should also not wait for any sanitation worker to clean our surrounding area and roads.

First of all we should not make public places dirty and if they have become dirty, then we should clean it because we are responsible for it. This responsibility needs to be understood by all Indian citizens. We need to change our thinking because only by this we can keep India clean. Many sanitation resources and efforts will not be very effective unless we make up our mind that the whole country is like our home and we have to keep it clean. It is our property, not that of others. We need to understand that, a country is like a house, in which many family members live like a joint family.

We must recognize that the things inside the house are our own property, and they should never be dirty and spoiled. Similarly, we also need to recognize that, everything outside the house is also our own property, and we should not make them dirty and keep them clean. We can change the deteriorating condition of our country with the spirit of collective ownership. In place of structural changes, laws and regulations should be made by the government by building effective plants for waste from industrial, agricultural, and other sectors; We need to assume our own responsibility through our efforts by using our thinking. It is not only the responsibility of the government; It is the collective responsibility of every Indian citizen.

It is true that, we cannot clean the whole country in a day or a year, however, if we only succeed in stopping the spreading of dirt in public places in India, then it will also be our big contribution. It is our responsibility to stop ourselves as well as stop other people who are making our India dirty. We usually see in our families that, each member of the house has some special responsibility (someone sweeps, some cleans, some brings vegetables, some does outside work, etc.), and he/she has to do this. The work has to be done on time at any cost. Similarly, if all Indians understand their responsibilities (cleanliness and prevent from spreading dirt) for small places around them, then I believe that day is not far when we will see cleanliness all around in the country.

Before starting the cleanliness drive, we have to make sure that we have a clean mind too. Cleanliness not only affects the good from others, however, it is very important for a healthy mind, spirit and environment. Just like we take care of our body to keep it healthy, we should also take care of our country.

The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (or Clean India Mission) is a cleanliness campaign run by the Government of India to improve the roads, streets and infrastructure of about 4,041 cities and towns in India. We should respect this national campaign and follow it and make it a success by all possible positive efforts.
