Finding the books you need with StarPlus

You can use StarPlus, the library catalogue to search our print collections and find out where they are located. Use this  guide to help you find books on the shelf .

If there is a book we don’t have that you think we should buy you can  recommended a book here .

The library also provides online reading lists for your modules/courses called reading lists, These lists contain links to electronic resources such as full-text journal articles, ebooks and databases in addition to items physically held in the library. All you have to do is enter your module code or the name of your course.

Requesting books which are on loan

If the book you need is on loan you can request it and collect at the library site that suits you best. 

There are self issue machines available at all libraries should you wish to issue any material to your library account.

If we have a print copy of a book that is loanable you can click 'request' on the StarPlus record for the book to reserve a copy. We will then email to let you know when the book is available for you to collect.

Longer loans and postal loans

If you are a distance (online) learning, part-time or commuter student, a student on placement or have registered with the  Disability and Dyslexia Support Service  you may be able to get longer loans and postal loans.
