I would prefer to give SAF a 0 rating but unfortunately I can’t! I ordered 15 mg of tirzepatide on September 8 & today is September 23 & I still haven’t received it. FRAUDULENT LIES

This company manipulated me to buy a second time, did a 6 month testing on cjc and impamorelin, no difference AT ALL, not in skin tone, not in weight, not in strength, not in repair of any kind at all. I believe the product they sent me is toxic

Having an impressive array of research products, along with a decent response time to inquiries, I felt confident that I'd found a peptide provider to trust. However, once their product was injected I quickly learned otherwise. It caused a large hot red area at the injection site, pain, fever, muscle aches for days. Their response was that this is normal so it was injected again and it so it happened again. It was a miserable experience. I can't help but think the substance that was sent to me is toxic.

Great product

I have had nothing but good experiences in doing business with this company. The peptides do what they are intended for, for an affordable price. Semaglutide Research is going great. 20 lbs down since April. Good product. Customer service is good as well. Just be careful with reconstitution because you can destroy the peptide if the water goes in too forcefully. I made that mistake with the last vial.

Great vendor and solid experience in CA/US

I have ordered from SAF from more than any other peptide vendor. I usually wait for their buy 1 get 3 free deals. All peptides(GHK-CU, CJC1295, Ipamorelin, AOD9604, MT2, epitalon, etc) have been solid and performed as expected(based on my subjective experience of how I felt on it). Not sure about the other negative reviews because my experience has been nothing but positive in 2021 and 2022. I am also part of the Facebook SWOLE AF group. Justin answers questions in the group and judging by other people's experience has been solid(going so far as replacing vials when people accidentally break them etc). The prices here with their deals can vary from very reasonable to about average. You can always shop around for individual peptides and find them cheaper on random sites. However given my experiences, the very reasonable prices here, consistency and trust add a lot of value to me.

Patients who can't get weight-loss drugs are turning to risky sources

Weight-loss drugs like semaglutide and tirzepatide are in short supply, leading many consumers to purchase the compounds for the drugs from risky and unregulated sources, Elaine Chen reports for STAT .

Weight-loss drug shortages lead patients to other sources

Semaglutide—sold by Novo Nordisk under the brand name Ozempic for diabetes and Wegovy for obesity—and tirzepatide, made by Eli Lilly under the brand name Mounjaro as a diabetes treatment, are part of a class of medications known as GLP-1 drugs.

These drugs mimic a hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1 to target areas of the brain that regulate appetite and food intake. In 2021,  FDA   approved  Wegovy for the treatment of obesity after a clinical  trial  showed it helped patients lose an average of 15% of their body weight over 68 weeks. Mounjaro has also been approved by FDA, but only to treat Type 2 diabetes.

However, many patients have found it difficult to access these drugs, in part because of months-long supply shortages.

As a result, many consumers have been turning to websites that list semaglutide and tirzepatide as chemicals they sell, Chen reports. And while they are intended only for lab research purchases and not for human use, many of the websites market the drugs in a way that appeals to individuals.

For example, the website Extreme Peptide says people can earn rewards on their orders for future purchases, SAF-Research 's website offers a buy now, pay later option, Chen reports.

Consumers have also been turning to compounding pharmacies , which mix the active ingredients of drugs with other chemicals to provide ready-made compounds, Chen reports.

In a statement, Novo said it does not provide or sell bulk semaglutide, and that alternative compounded products "do not have the same safety, quality, and effectiveness assurances as FDA-approved drugs and may expose patients to potentially serious health risks."

Eli Lilly in a statement said that Mounjaro "is only available in a pre-filled single-dose pen manufactured by Lilly. Mounjaro is not commercially available in any other form."

Why these sources can be risky

Experts say acquiring these weight-loss drugs through alternate routes can be risky, since neither Novo nor Eli Lilly sell their drugs to other manufacturers. Therefore, it's not clear what's inside the alternative products, and the drugs are not regulated in the same way traditional medications are.

According to Jamie Almandoz, medical director of the University of Texas Southwestern Weight Wellness Program , ordering from peptide suppliers could be dangerous because it's not clear what's inside the chemicals and people could be mixing them incorrectly or in a non-sterile environment, which could cause an infection.

Compounding pharmacies could prove less risky since professionals are supposed to be mixing the drugs in a sterile environment, Almandoz added, but it's also not clear where those pharmacies are getting their active ingredients, and there's no safety or effectiveness data on the compounded products.

Almandoz said he understands patients' desire to obtain these drugs, but whenever his patients ask about compounding pharmacies, "I get very anxious and I try to counsel them away" from that option, adding that there are other drugs and procedures like bariatric surgery that could be considered.

The excitement surrounding these drugs, also referred to as the " Hollywood drug ," could be leading people to gravitate towards them more immediately, "skipping from A to Z," said Jamy Ard, co-director of the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Weight Management Center . "There are some people who definitely need an incretin treatment strategy, but it is not the only thing, it is not the absolute solution for everyone."

"It just shows you the level of desperation that people have and the level of unmet need that we have when it comes to treating obesity effectively," Ard said.

Ultimately, "people are desperate to have better health," Almandoz said. "The fact that people are resorting to nontraditional pathways to get medications which may be risky speaks to their desire for better health." (Chen, STAT , 1/18)

We’ve accessed the website saf-research.com (as mentioned, formerly swoleaflabs.com ) and it does looks like this is a very well made website. It looks like guys working on technical part of the site (both how it works and how it appears) made a really good job.

The website layout seems to be fresh and clean, there are not too banners, nothing seems to annoy you whilst browsing their site as there is no chaotically or strangely displayed information. Also, there does not seen to be any dangerous links or anything that could expose your sensitive information to unwanted parties.

The pages reload speed is fast, a lot of useful links and many different pages are there that help you find the required information really fast and effortlessly. It also seems to be pretty easy to order here – in a matter of minutes, you can have the order placed.

At the bottom of page you can find the Terms and Conditions; Shipping Policy; Privacy Policy; Refund Policy as well as Terms and Service.

You can check the icons indicating their accepted payment methods and you may also sign up to their newsletter if you wish.

In the end, we think that product availability at Swole AF company is great. Customers have high chances they would find whatever they are searching for at SAF Research, or at least, higher chances compared to many other SARMs sources.

As it was earlier mentioned, SAF-Research (formerly Swole AF ) seems to offer many different compounds for bodybuilders and athletes required for physique and performance enhancement. Nonetheless, it does looks like they are mostly oriented in manufacturing and selling SARMs specifically, plus we’re reviewing SARMs mostly, this is the reason why we are going to pay a closer attention to prices for SARMs mostly. Based on those prices, we would assume that all other chemicals are in the same price range.

So well, as usually, in order to determine if prices for SARMs at saf-research.com are worth it or not, we are taking in consideration various factors. We determine the amount of ml/ capsules per bottle, the amount of SARM per ml/ capsule and the overall price. This way we determine the total price for the total amount in mg of a SARM. Luckily, there’s a clickable element where you are redirected to a page full of Third Party lab Test results conducted by S&N Labs on various different SARMs indicating the compound tested and its Chromatographic purity (% are) from 94.4 up to 99.9.

We also checked the dates and it looks like none of them is older than a year whilst there are some being conducted less than 2 months ago.

So, we have trust in the report of analysis conducted by third party laboratories which were made recently and that’s why we think there’s a high chance you would find the SARMs from SAF-Research.com to be of a high quality. At least, that’s what it looks like from COA’s shared.

SAF Research Shipping and Return Policy

Taken in consideration there’s a “shipping policy” page, is quite obvious that’s what we checked. We were highly disappointed to see that there’s absolutely nothing else than just the short message:

There’s also the “refund policy” page where you can find more information, yet still not very informative.

They claim that policy lasts 30 days and items should be in the original packaging, unused and unopened in same condition it was received.

Either you get a full refund – is unknown.

We find it extremely strange a company based in London, UK to offer shipping only in USA and Canada.

All in all, shipping policy is good for USA with free shipping, normal shipping fees and free shipping option. Shipping in Canada is only one and high priced whilst shipping anywhere else in the world is simply non existent. They also have a refund policy which is good, but other information should be mentioned.

That’s why SAF-Research.com shipping and refund policies are mediocre at best, to our opinion. Is worth it only if you’re in USA and that’s assuming you get a full refund of money in case something is wrong with the products.

SAF-Research.com Payment Options

As said, at the bottom of the pages you can find different icons indicating the payment methods they accept. It looks like they offer: American Express; Bitcoin; Discover; MasterCard and Visa.

To check this out we did found out that all of these payment methods are available here at SAF Research plus they are accepting Zelle, afterpay as well as affirm.

As much as it looks like, most customers who might want to do business with this SARMs merchant has high chances to find whatever payment methods they love.

Is quite obvious that if there would be the live chat – it would be perfect. But even without it, that’s still fairly good as there seem to be enough methods allowing customers to get in touch with this SARMs source whenever they have questions.

By researching for customer reviews online it seems like they have most of the reviews on their Facebook page. There is a customer discussion on reddit about this company too and other than that, we couldn’t find reviews.

It seems like most of the reviews are positive, luckily. There are still a few negative reviews about Swole AF Labs (seemingly, they only recently changed their name) but it still seems like most of the reviews are positive which is a good thing, obviously.

According to the opinion of 93 people writing reviews on their Facebook page, they have a rate of 4.6 stars out of 5.

In the end, we think that’s all pretty good.

SAF Research seems to be a legit company that is based in UK, London, but we find it pretty strange and there are numerous reasons why. SAF Research is manufacturer and seller of SARMs (as well as other compounds) in form of liquid and capsules. They have changed their company and branding name from Swole AF t o SAF Research.

This company seems to be oriented in selling compounds for physique and performance enhancement purposes and they seem to offer many products strangely named (with various slangs such as OH F**K and others). There are many advantages but there are disadvantages too. Overall, as said we find it strange. Not only their name and their products’ name are strange, but other things too.

Such as – legit company with lots of positive reviews, but they are charging a huge price for compounds. They are based in London, even shared the registration number, yet they ship only in Canada and USA.

Are your eclipse glasses safe? How to know they'll really protect your eyes during today's total solar eclipse

The 2024 total solar eclipse is today — and if you're hoping to get a glimpse of the phenomenon, it's best to make sure that you have real, working eclipse glasses that can protect your eyes .

Here's what to know about eclipse glasses and how to check that they are safe to use.

Are solar eclipse glasses safe to view the total solar eclipse with?

Solar eclipse glasses can be used to safely view a total solar eclipse , but it's important to make sure they're of the right quality. Don't use sunglasses, smoked glass, an unfiltered telescope and magnifiers or polarized filters as a way to view the eclipse.

The only glasses that should be used to look at a partially eclipsed sun is with eclipse glasses that meet an international standard, ISO 12312-2, according to the American Optometric Association. 

That international safety standard, which is set by the International Organization for Standardization , means the glasses reduce visible sunlight to a safe level, and block ultraviolet and infrared radiation, according to the  American Astronomical Society  website. According to the ISO, the safety standard is reviewed every five years. 

Blocking that radiation is important. Ultraviolet, or UV, radiation can damage the cells of the eyes, while the infrared, or IR, radiation can generate heat that causes thermal damage, according to the National Eye Institute . 

How to make sure the eclipse glasses you bought are real 

Real eclipse glasses will have a note about the international standard somewhere on their body, according to the American Astronomical Society. Before buying, make sure the glasses are advertised as meeting this standard.

If you already bought the glasses, check the arm for the the "ISO 12312-2" label. The standard may also be written as "ISO 12312-2:2015," the AAS says on its website. Either designation means that the glasses will block light and radiation. 

The label may be on the flat or curved part of the arm. 

NASA has also released guidance on how to test your eclipse glasses. The space agency recommends putting on your glasses and finding a bright light. If the light appears extremely dim, or doesn't appear at all, when you look at it through the glasses, they are legitimate. You should only be able to see the filament of the bulb, not its glow. 

How to avoid buying fake solar eclipse glasses

Checking for the international standard isn't foolproof: It's possible for sellers with products who do not meet the standard to label their eyewear with it anyway. To avoid this, make sure you're ordering glasses from a reliable source. 

The American Astronomical Society advises against ordering from Amazon, Temu or other online marketplaces, and recommends against ordering if prices seem to be too good to be true. The AAS also said it's best to purchase from manufacturers based in the United States. CBS News previously reported that counterfeit glasses have been sold by companies based overseas. 

The organization maintains a list of reputable vendors of solar eclipse glasses. CBS News previously reported that NASA supports the  American Astronomical Society 's work, though the space agency does not maintain its own list of vendors.  

The ISO, the body that established the international standard for eclipse glasses, also sells them on its website. 

Why it's important to double-check older solar eclipse glasses

If you're reusing glasses from a previous solar eclipse, it's important to double-check that they are still in good condition. NASA warns against using glasses that have any marks or scratches on them. This damage can diminish the protection they offer. Glasses that have punctured lenses should also not be used. 

Glasses that are more than three years old should not be used to view the 2024 total solar eclipse, according to the National Eye Institute — so if you saved your glasses from the 2017 eclipse, you may want to think about finding a new pair.

How to make sure your homemade eclipse viewing tool is safe

If you're not buying glasses, it is possible to make an indirect viewing method for viewing the eclipse at home. An indirect viewing method means that you don't look directly at the sun so your eyes remain protected even without eyewear. 

NASA recommends making a pinhole projector, which uses a small opening like a hole punched in an index card, to project an image of the sun onto a nearby surface. When using a pinhole projector, keep the sun at your back and view the projected image to safely see the eclipse. However, to do this safely, it's important to make sure to avoid actually looking at the sun itself.

Ready? The total solar eclipse is today -- April 8, 2024 . This eclipse, which will be visible across North America, is the last one in the continental US for almost 20 years. If you're in the path of totality today or outside the area and viewing a partial eclipse, you're going to need solar eclipse glasses to protect your eyes while staring at the sun. 

Solar eclipse glasses are special glasses that block out the most dangerous parts of the solar spectrum for human eyes. When you look through them, the sun should appear as an easy-to-view yellow-orange circle. Use them to watch the entire eclipse, but be aware that these glasses will block out all light -- so you won't want to use these glasses while walking, driving or doing anything besides eclipse viewing.

However, bad actors may sell eclipse glasses that don't actually do anything to protect your eyes from the sun. So, if you're viewing the eclipse in person today, you're going to want to make sure that your eyes are really being protected. Check the ISO number of your eclipse glasses

According to the American Astronomical Society , a real and safe pair of solar eclipse glasses should be labeled with ISO 12312-2 (sometimes written in more detail as ISO 12312-2:2015), which is an international safety standard that denotes the glasses reduce visible sunlight to safe levels and block UV and IR radiation.

However, fake glasses may also be labeled as being compliant with ISO 12312-2 because, as a general rule, people are greedy, selfish and not to be trusted. To double-check the veracity of your eclipse glasses' ISO claims, you can see if the vendor from which you purchased the shades is trustworthy in the eyes of the AAS. See its list of Reputable Vendors of Solar Filters and Viewers . Really, the safest thing you can do is pick a vendor from the above list and purchase your glasses from there, so there are no concerns about counterfeits and fakes when it comes to your eye safety. 

The list also includes big-box retailers and chains where you can grab AAS approved eclipse glasses, including Warby Parker , which is giving glasses away for free starting April 1. Personally, I got my glasses from a trusted local museum, but I'll still be checking mine to make sure that I'll be protected. 

In assembling its list, the AAS checks to make sure a manufacturer earned its ISO rating with proper, labs-based testing. It also asks manufacturers for their authorized resellers and resellers for their manufacturers. If the vendor of your eclipse shades is listed, then you are safe. But the opposite isn't necessarily true. If your vendor isn't listed, it doesn't necessarily mean they are slinging counterfeits. It just means the AAS hasn't checked them out or hasn't been able to track everything down.

So, what are you to do if your vendor isn't on the list? Perform an eye test.

How to test your solar eclipse glasses

If your mystery pair of eclipse glasses look pretty darn dark, that's a good place to start start. You should not be able to see anything through them except the sun itself or something similarly bright.

What's something as bright as the sun you can use as a test? The AAS suggests you check sunlight reflected off a mirror or a shiny metal object. If sun is behind the clouds or on the other side of the earth when you want to test your glasses, you can use a bright-white LED such as the flashlight on your phone or a bare lightbulb. The reflected sunlight or bright, white, artificial light should appear very dim through a safe pair of eclipse glasses. If you can see light behind a lamp shade or a soft, frosted light bulb through the glasses through your eclipse glasses, then you know that these glasses aren't strong enough to stare safely at the sun. 

When staring at the sun through safe solar eclipse glasses, the sun should appear comfortably bright like the full moon, according to the AAS. If your eclipse glasses are uncomfortable to use, that is also a good sign that they might not be legitimate.
