Online Sample Test (Demo Examination) As a part of preparation for online examination, an ‘Online Sample Test’ examination shall be made available on the same website. Link to access Online Sample Test (demo Examination) is available, only after login with registered username and password. The Online Sample Test (demo Examination) is only available to applicants whose application is “Approved” by the University Authorities and will be appearing for the Online Ph.D. Entrance Examination. Access to this Online Sample Test (demo Examination) does not validate the acceptance of your application by Savitribai Phule Pune University. After acceptance/approval of the application, applicant will receive the confirmation email. This Online Sample Test (demo Examination) is intended, to give experience of the navigation, look and feel of the online test to the applicants. Please note the following

Overview Candidates will receive login credentials and a link to examination site on the day of exam through email. Candidates will use these credentials to logon to examination website. On successful login, candidates will be required to take an automated video interview. On completion of the video interview, candidates will see online examination questions. Candidate examination will end either when the candidate submits the exam or when the examination timer expires. Website A link to the examination website will be mentioned in an email sent to candidates on the day of examination, wherein username and password will be mentioned. Candidates will use this website to start their exam. Video Interview On successful login to examination website, candidates will have to complete an automated video interview first. Video interview will start automatically. Webcam, microphone and high-speed Internet connection is required to complete the video interview. Website will guide the candidate step-by-step in the procedure. Online Examination After the video interview is completed, candidates’ online examination will begin. Candidates might have to login again if the session has expired. Online examination is a set of Multiple Choice questions. Candidates will have fixed amount of time to complete the examination. Candidates can end their exam by clicking on “Submit Test” button. Examination will be automatically submitted if the candidate exceeds allotted time. • It is the responsibility of the applicant to fulfil the eligibility conditions and comply with the admission requirements. If at any stage, any claim is found false, or not meeting the eligibility criteria, the candidature shall be cancelled.
• Candidates are NOT required to submit the printout of the application or any documents to the University after online submission. However, these documents are to be submitted at the time of personal interview at the selected research centre, if the candidate qualifies the examination.
• Incomplete applications/applications without uploading required documents/ applications submitted after the due date will be rejected without assigning any reason and no correspondence will be entertained by the University in this regard.

The following candidates are eligible to seek admission to the Ph.D. programme: Candidates who have completed:

A 1-year/2-semester master' s degree programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor's degree programme or a 2-year/4-semester master's degree programme after a 3-year bachelor's degree programme or qualifications declared equivalent to the master's degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institutions accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of the educational institutions.

A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/differently-abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the commission from time to time.

Provided that a candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor's degree programme should have a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of commission from time to time.

Candidates who have completed the M. Phil programme with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale. Reservation is applicable only to Maharashtra domicile candidates provided they submit the necessary documents for reservation before interview. Outside Maharashtra candidates will be considered in open category.

Candidates satisfying eligibility criterion shall be called to appear for the Ph.D. entrance test conducted by MITWPU.

PhD entrance test shall be qualifying with qualifying marks as 50% provided that relaxation from 50% to 45% shall be allowed for the candidates belongs to SC/ST/OBC (Non creamy layer)/Differently abled category, Economically Weaker section (EWS) and other category of candidates. The syllabus of entrance test shall consist of 50% of research methodology and 50% shall be subject specific.

The interview/viva-voce will be conducted by the university for test qualifying candidates. For selection of candidates a weightage of 70% to the entrance test and 30% to the performance in the interview/Viva-voce shall be given. For GATE/NET/JRF /SET/GPAT/CEED qualified students, the selection will be based on Interview/Viva Voce

The recommended candidates will be intimated through email about their selection and the candidates will be offered Ph.D. provisional admission.

The eligibility of a candidate is provisional as per information provided by the candidate in his/her application form and is subject to verification of minimum eligibility conditions for admission to the program, educational documents and reservation documents (if any).

University keep rights to cancel admission of the Ph.D. scholars in the case of misconduct by the scholar, unsatisfactory progress/absent for consecutive two progress seminars, failure in any examination related to Ph.D., fabrication found in educational and reservation documents, candidate is found ineligible, involved in plagiarism in paper publications and thesis.

Provisional eligibility to appear in the selection process is no guarantee for admission to the program.

*All scholarships are awarded as fee adjustments.

*To continue the scholarship for the entire duration of the programme:

a) a minimum level of the academic score has to be maintained at an 8.5 CGPA across all semesters

b) attendance is to be maintained at a minimum of 80 percent

c) there should be no disciplinary action against the student.

Eligibility Criteria

A 1-year/2-semester master's degree programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelors degree programme or a 2-year/4-semester master' s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor's degree programme or qualifications declared equivalent to the master's degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institutions accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of the educational institutions.

The excellent pedagogy of teachers and their helping nature enhances our skill and improved knowledge. The peace program run by MIT-WPU is different from other universities which give us a proper way of thinking and utilizing our skills and knowledge.

At MIT-WPU, it has been a wonderful experience. I had the incredible good fortune and luck to be a member of the MIT-WPU SOLA, which fostered my personal development.
