Open Research support for University of Liverpool researchers
The Researcher KnowHow series returns with its largest programme yet for all researchers including PHD students, early career researchers and more established colleagues.
All sessions will be delivered online and there is no limit to the number of sessions you can attend. Browse the sessions and book your place in advance to make sure that you don’t miss out.
The programme is opening slightly early on 29th October with an exciting collaborative event with colleagues at Liverpool John Moores University. ‘Research Café: COVID changed my research’ is an informal gathering where researchers can talk about how their research changed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Open Research Team would like to hear from PhD and early career researchers about their experiences. If you would like to talk about how COVID has affected your research, please contact Sarah Roughley Barake at: [email protected] .
New Open Research webpages
The Library’s Open Research Team have also launched their new webpages to help staff access the support and resources you need to incorporate Open Research principles into your work, enabling greater engagement with your research by a wider range of stakeholders both within and outside academia. The Open Research team encourages researchers to share research outputs as early as possible in the research process in a way that enables access and reuse by others.
- Open Access
The University is committed to the principles of Open Access and recognises the benefits it brings in disseminating research more broadly and providing access to research for all. The Library provides guidance on publishing Open Access, funder policies, applying for Open Access funding, and promoting your research more widely.
Research Data Management
All research staff involved in the creation, collection or curation of research data should create a data management plan, store, back up, retain and make data as open as possible. Liverpool Research Data is the Library’s research data management (RDM) service providing advice, tools and support to help researchers manage their data, prepare to share, and comply with University and funder policies.
Responsible Metrics
The use of metrics can provide valuable insights and the Library provides advice and support to help Liverpool researchers to use metrics responsibly .
