Whether you’re hosting a virtual employee benefits fair, an in-person  open enrollment  fair, or a hybrid version of a benefits presentation, one of the most critical aspects of this event is the presentation itself. The slide deck serves as the visual foundation for the kick-off to open enrollment.  With five generations in the workforce , your employees have varying benefits needs as they hit different life milestones, so effectively communicating open enrollment information to a diverse audience is critical. 

Use our list of seven open enrollment presentation ideas to spruce up your slide deck or create a new version. We’re also offering tips and tricks to make this event less boring and more engaging for your employees. 

1. Create concise and simple slides 

The powerpoint presentation for your open enrollment meeting doesn’t need to be a comprehensive rehash of everything you plan to say. Instead, it should serve as a visual guide to reinforce key information and important concepts related to your benefits package.

First things first, you should record your presentation for folks to refer back to and those who can’t attend. Secondly, send out the presentation deck itself with your notes for further information on what was discussed during each slide. Both steps will allow you to keep the actual slides clean and simple, helping employees understand their benefits plans rather than overwhelming them.

Clean up that design! 🧹

The overall design of your slides is key. 

Keep the following tips in mind when updating or creating your presentation: 

  • Try to present only one big idea on each slide. 
  • Don’t overcrowd the space with excess text. Avoid the dreaded wall of text.
  • Use large clear font, not small type or fancy scripts. 
  • Include visual cues to break up information, i.e., headers, subheads, bullets, etc. 
  • Long lists of bullet points defeat the point of bullet points (they’re walls of text in disguise!) Try to stick to 3-5 bullets, max.
  • Leave white space so folks can digest what’s on screen. 

2. Remember, organization is your friend 

Some of your team members are going to be bored during your presentation or might even zone out. It’s human nature. We have other things on our mind. After all, open enrollment isn’t as exciting as binging a new series. 

An efficient and organized presentation will help you keep their attention as best as possible. 

Start with an outline slide that states the goal of your presentation with the sections you’ll cover. Number sections accordingly on each slide, so folks understand where you are in the progression of the meeting. Here’s an example:

You might also want to include a main takeaway, for instance, a “so what” slide or bullet point after each section. Wrapping up with a “what this means for you” summary helps your audience contextualize why that information matters, and hopefully, remember the important details. 

3. Be consistent about names and acronyms 

The world of benefits is a complex land, full of conflicting names, descriptions and acronyms. For example, one vendor may call it  to-may-to  while another says  to-mah-to . 

You can circumvent the confusion by keeping your  benefits definitions  consistent and clearly explaining acronyms and terms. Consistency will help with your overall organization as well. (Which, as you remember from the previous section, is our buddy). For example: if you name a section “Health insurance plans” in your open enrollment presentation and then call it “HMOs, PPOs, and HDHPs” in your  benefits guide , you’re going to confuse people unnecessarily

4. Include visuals and graphics 

You know what’s a snooze fest? 💤 Slide after slide of nothing but text. 🥱 Variety is the spice of life, so spice up your open enrollment presentation with various visuals. For a simple and quick addition, include relevant stock images or graphics for the text. (Think: a picture of a family when talking about family coverage). 

Next, turn to the more serious visual representations—data-backed graphics. Cold, hard numbers often tell a better story than anecdotes. And the good news? It doesn’t have to be super complex! Most presentation platforms offer easy plug-and-play table and chart creation tools. For example, you could create a bar graph to visually explain how much money you can save with an HSA over five years or compare max out-of-pocket expenses depending on health care plans.

Especially with  rising healthcare costs  and  inflation , employees want to know how to save more money on their healthcare plans. Use visualizations to show them exactly how much they could put back into their pockets, depending on the plans they choose.

5. incorporate humor and levity .

Talking about benefits can get dull and in the weeds—fast. We understand that more than anyone, which is why ALEX keeps it light, conversational and dare we say… fun . You can use that same formula for your open enrollment presentation. 

Multimedia moments, like memes and GIFs can help break up the monotony. Remind your people it’s okay to laugh, even though you’re reviewing serious information. 

6. Leave time for questions 

Save a time block in your schedule for employee questions. At the beginning of your open enrollment presentation, encourage your team members to put their questions in the Zoom chat (ideal for a virtual benefits fair), or write them down so they don’t forget. Then once you’re done presenting, open up the floor. 

If folks are shy with questions, have a few FAQs prepared as a plan B. This might get the ball rolling and encourage others to speak up.

7. Take a practice run 

If you’re sprucing up your open enrollment presentation and changing around the flow of information, it only makes sense to test it out first. Round up your human resource team and have a dry run with the new slide deck to make sure you’re not missing any of the finer details. 

Or if time/availability allows, get an outside perspective of another employee who can tell you if anything is unclear.

With a new presentation, this also gives you the chance to time it.

How to communicate with and help employees to choose workplace benefits

Companies are preparing to kick off open enrollment for their employees to choose their workplace benefits. Health, vision, dental, life insurance ... even pet insurance may be up for grabs. 

How can HR professionals best communicate with employees about their choices, when many workers are unfamiliar with the language and concepts of benefits offerings? What's the best way to help employees through open enrollment season?

What is open enrollment for benefits?

In the U.S., open enrollment season is a period of time when employees may elect or change the benefit options available through their employer, such as health, dental and life insurance, and ancillary or voluntary benefits ranging from legal services to pet insurance. Some benefits are fully paid by the employer, some are employee-paid through salary deferral or a section 125 cafeteria plan, and for some the cost is shared. 

When do most companies have open enrollment?

Most companies schedule open enrollment to end a few weeks before enrollment forms must be submitted to benefit providers. For calendar-year benefit plans starting Jan. 1, open enrollment often takes place in November.

How long does open enrollment have to be?

Open enrollment is not required to be a certain length of time. Most employers have an open enrollment period of at least two to four weeks.

For 2023, 401(k) Contribution Limit Rises to $22,500 with $7,500 'Catch-Up' Employee 401(k) contributions for plan year 2023 will rise by $2,000 to $22,500 with an additional $7,500 catch-up contribution allowed for those turning age 50 or older. The contribution cap is a goal that may encourage savers to defer extra dollars, if they're able to do so.

2023 Health FSA Contribution Cap Rises to $3,050 Employees in 2023 can contribute up to $3,050 to their health care flexible spending accounts (health FSAs), pretax, through payroll deduction—a $200 increase from 2022—the IRS has announced. The maximum carryover amount rises to $610, up from $570. Tax-exclusion limits for employer-sponsored commuting benefits and adoption assistance programs are also rising for 2023.

2023 Wage Cap Jumps to $160,200 for Social Security Payroll Taxes Starting January 2023, the maximum earnings subject to the Social Security payroll tax will increase by nearly 9 percent to $160,200—up from the $147,000 maximum for 2022, the SSA announced. By the start of the new year, adjust payroll systems and notify affected employees that more of their pay will be subject to payroll withholding.

2023 Tax Bracket Changes Could Increase Workers' Take-Home Pay The IRS raised the top amounts of all seven federal income tax brackets for 2023, which could increase the paychecks of many employees by taxing more of their earnings at lower rates and influence employee decisions on paycheck withholding amounts.

IRS Sets 2023 Health Plan Premium Affordability Threshold at 9.12% of Pay The IRS announced that for 2023 an employer's lowest self-only health plan premium can't exceed 9.12 percent of an employee's pay, down from the 2022 limit of 9.61 percent. Under the Federal Poverty Line safe harbor, the maximum monthly premium will be $103.28.

IRS Announces Spike in 2023 Limits for HSAs and High-Deductible Health Plans Health savings account (HSA) contribution limits for 2023 are going up $200 for self-only coverage and $450 for family coverage, the IRS announced April 29, reflecting the recent inflation surge. Planning ahead, employers can encourage employees to increase their HSA contributions next year and can initiate or increase an employer contribution as well.

IRS Announces 2022 Limits for HSAs and High-Deductible Health Plans Health savings account (HSA) contribution limits for 2022 are going up $50 for self-only coverage and $100 for family coverage, the IRS announced, giving employers time to educate participants about the advantages of fully funding their accounts.

Employees in 2022 can again put up to $2,850 into their health care flexible spending accounts (health FSAs), pretax, through payroll deduction, up from $2,750 this year, the IRS said. But the late announcement left many employers reusing the 2021 cap.

IRS Raises Health Plans' PCORI Fees Payable in 2022 The IRS announced the annual adjustment to the fees that insurers or sponsors of self-insured health plans pay per plan enrollee to fund the federal Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) trust fund.

IRS Lowers 2022 Employer Health Plan Affordability Threshold to 9.61% of Pay For 2022, the lowest-cost, self-only health coverage an employer offers can't exceed 9.61 percent of an employee's income, the IRA announced. With the end of August in sight, many employees are feeling a lot of things. We all know that September can be a polarizing month—for many, it’s a month filled with weddings, end of summer bbqs, and the exciting promise of pumpkin-spice-everything in the air. For others, it’s a devastating reminder that Summer Fridays, beach weekends, and flip flops are about to be a thing of the past. And for HR teams , the start of fall is a reminder that for most organizations, open enrollment is right around the corner.

But unlike the Halloween decor that's starting to pop-up on store shelves, open enrollment season doesn't have to be spooky. With proper preparation and planning in advance, HR teams can crush each step of their open enrollment journey, starting with the enrollment presentation.

Open enrollment presentations can be difficult—how do you communicate each benefit option, along with any changes or new offerings, to a diverse group of employees who all have different health and financial needs and family structures? It feels impossible to please everyone, and creating a presentation that feels personalized to each employee is almost impossible, but by following a few simple steps, you’ll be on your way to a comprehensive, engaging, educational open enrollment presentation!

Whether you're a seasoned pro or this is your first time, follow these five easy steps to ensure your presentation is a success, and you'll be well on your way to an all-star open enrollment season.

1. Start with logistics

In 2020 and 2021, the biggest challenge was figuring out how to take your typical in-person presentations and make them virtual. Now, we have a bigger challenge on our hands. With many organizations operating in a hybrid model (with some employees remote and some in the office), it’s key to make sure your benefits education and enrollment presentation can reach all of your employees. Ensuring you’re not leaving anyone out if they are in the office or working from home is a top priority.

In today's hybrid workspaces, whether you want to give your presentation in person or if you're comfortable doing it remotely is often up to you. Both of them have pros, cons, and elements to consider for the employees not present for the session.

While in-person presentations allow you to build a personal connection with your employees (and keep them engaged and excited), they can be more logistically challenging. Because of this, you’ll want to make sure you over-prepare ahead of time, so that audio and visuals all work as expected during the live session. Additionally, you’ll want to make sure everyone in your organization has equal access to benefits education, so in-person sessions require live-streaming to any and all virtual employees as well.

If you would prefer to present remotely , it’s easier to get on everyone’s schedule, and make sure audio and visuals are up to par. However, it’s difficult to make a personal connection and keep employees engaged—this means looking to games, surveys, or fun asides to keep employees excited throughout the session.

Whichever option you choose, it’s important to remember that no matter whether your organization is in-office, hybrid, or fully remote, the chances of you getting 100% employee attendance is very slim. Offering incentives to join (like teasing the announcement of a new wellness benefit) ahead of time can encourage participation and attendance. Regardless, you’ll want to ensure that the session is recorded, emailed out, and hosted somewhere easily accessible for employees to revisit or watch if they can’t attend the presentation.

2. Lead with definitions

Once logistics are nailed down, it’s time to plan your content. To get the most out of your presentation, you’ll want to make sure your employees are following along from the start. This means tackling the most head-spinning aspect of benefits right out of the gate—the jargon.

While HR leaders are intimately familiar with benefits related terms and abbreviations, to many employees these feel like a foreign language. Even if they’ve heard the terms, chances are they can’t define them off the top of their head, so it’s key to open up your presentation with an ABCs of benefits slide. Here, you can list out the definitions of terms you’ll use throughout the session, like HSA, FSA, PPO, Copay, Deductible, 401K and others. Alternatively, you can create this slide and send it out to employees ahead of time so that they can reference it on their phone or laptop during the session.

Leading with definitions will help ensure that everyone is on the same page and help avoid any confusion or misunderstandings later on.

3. Keep things short and sweet

Studies have shown that the average attention span is only about 20 minutes, so it's essential to keep your presentation engaging and easy to follow. An hour long benefits presentation is sure to lose some employees, whether that be for attention span challenges or conflicting external meetings. That means that you’ll need to make sure your slides are clear, concise, and visually appealing.

  • You want to avoid overwhelming employees with too much information at once, so try to stick to one central point per slide.
  • If you have too much text on the screen, viewers tend to read ahead instead of listening to you, so try to use bullet points or short phrases instead.
  • If you're using charts or graphs, make sure they're easy to understand at a glance.
  • And lastly, don't forget to add some visual interest with images, videos, or animation.

4. Talk about the value of voluntary benefits

To truly maximize learnings, be sure to outline the value of the different voluntary benefits you offer. Most employees will enroll in medical, dental, and vision by default (though, you’ll still want to communicate their options and changes to existing plans), but many employees overlook voluntary benefits or see them only as an additional cost.

Choosing to enroll or not enroll in voluntary benefits can have major health and financial implications for employees and their families—not to mention they can be helpful in both attracting and retaining talent.

Spending some time discussing the value of voluntary benefits like accident insurance, hospital indemnity, critical illness, and others can help employees visualize how these plans could help them in their everyday lives.

After the impact that the pandemic has had over the past few years, we've seen the value perception of benefits such as critical illness and hospital indemnity grow exponentially. It's more important than ever to ensure employees are aware of what they have available and the effort your company makes to provide these types of benefits.

5. Allow time for questions

When booking the meeting, make sure you allot a buffer of time at the end of the session for employees to ask questions while they’re still top of mind. Remember that employees will often have specific questions about their benefits that they want to be answered, and this is your chance to address them.

Benefits are a sensitive topic, so if you're not sure about the answer to a question, it’s not taboo to let employees know that you don’t know the answer or that you’ll follow up with them later one-on-one.

It’s also important to note that not all employees will feel comfortable asking questions in front of their teammates (for example, maybe someone is planning for a pregnancy and wants to ask about fertility benefits, but doesn’t want to share this with the wider company). Because of this, you should consider setting up office hours at various times where employees can sign up for a time slot and meet with you personally.

Presentation day

Leading up to your session, it can be helpful to present a dry run in front of a colleague. This will ensure that they catch anything that may still be unclear or confusing.

By preparing ahead of time and keeping these five tips in mind, you'll deliver a presentation that helps educate employees, giving them confidence in their options and driving up participation rates.

Employees may sign on to Benefitfocus via the OneCampus portal (select the “Benefits Open Enrollment for Faculty & Staff” banner) using their Purdue career account username and BoilerKey or via the Benefitplace mobile app . Watch the Benefitplace App video for more information.

Except for health savings accounts, health reimbursement accounts and flexible spending accounts, current benefits will roll forward into 2023 unless employees log into Benefitfocus and make new selections. Those who wish to have an HSA, HRA or FSA must log into Benefitfocus and elect them for 2023.

The Tobacco Survey and Working Spouse Certification must be completed as answers could impact premiums. Employees who do not complete the Tobacco Survey and Working Spouse Certification each year during enrollment will be charged the tobacco-user additional premium (for both employee and spouse, if covered) and the working spouse premium (for spouse, if covered) the next plan year.

Additionally, employees are encouraged to double-check which dependents they are covering on each benefit. Employees must select the green bubble (with dependent’s name) for each benefit they would like their dependent to have coverage. Once enrollment is complete, employees should review the summary to ensure their dependents are listed and have benefits coverage as intended.

Via the  dedicated open enrollment 2023 website , employees have access to a variety of helpful  resources  and more, including:  

  • An open enrollment guide is available for employees at all campuses, including a version in Spanish. The online guide includes details about what is changing, how to enroll and resources available.
  • The recorded enrollment presentation provides a detailed overview of information pertinent to benefits open enrollment for 2023 in an interactive format. For employees who were unable to attend a virtual presentation or those who would like a quick review, the recorded PowerPoint presentation highlights key enrollment information, including plans being offered, how consumer directed health plans work, what’s new for 2023, how to enroll and more. Viewers can pause or rewind at any time to review specific information.
  • Open enrollment labs : In-person computer assistance time is reserved in a computer lab for those who need access to or assistance using a computer to complete their enrollment. The lab will be located at 2550 Northwestern Ave., Suite 1100, Room 1160C. Signs will be posted inside to direct users to the lab. Sign up for an appointment by visiting the resource page and clicking the link. Labs led by Spanish-speaking translators will be held on Oct. 25 and Oct. 26. Those who need benefits counseling before using a lab to complete their enrollment should contact the HR Service Center at 765-494-2222 or [email protected] .
  • Working Spouse Guide : Employees can follow the guide to see how and if the premium applies to their family as well as if a Working Spouse Premium Waiver Form is required.
  • Working Spouse Premium Waiver Form : Employees who meet the waiver criteria for covering a working spouse must complete and upload this form into Benefitfocus by Dec. 1.
  • How to Upload Working Spouse Premium Waiver Form : These detailed instructions provide step-by-step instructions on how to upload the form into Benefitfocus.

PURDUE GLOBAL EMPLOYEES

To begin enrollment, visit the OneLogin homepage and select the Benefitfocus icon. Select Enroll Now. From the “Manage your benefits” page, click on the gold “Get Started” button and follow the on-screen instructions to begin the enrollment process.

Except for health savings accounts and flexible spending accounts, current benefits will roll forward into 2023 unless employees log into Benefitfocus and make new selections. Those who wish to have an HSA or FSA must log into Benefitfocus and elect them for 2023.

5 Ways to Make Your Employee Benefit Presentations Fun

Here are 5 ways you can make your employee benefit presentations fun:

1.  make them interactive..

  • Give your employees interactive handouts to follow along with the presentation. Leave plenty of time for questions at the end of the presentation. On that note, don’t just read your PowerPoint word for word. Take good notes ahead of time and speak freely during the presentation, injecting emphasis and excitement into your voice. Make eye contact with the audience, utilize good body language and don’t stand in one spot for the entirety of the presentation. Some companies even incorporate giveaways or special incentives into their enrollment week to promote employee participation.

2.  Make them visually stimulating. 

  • It’s no surprise that most benefits presentations are very data driven. This can lead to word heavy slides and graphs that all start to look the same after a while. You don’t want your employees to start snoozing during your presentation. Utilize high quality picture and even video clips during your presentation. Try to limit the use of graphs, pie charts and flowcharts. These will only bore and maybe even confuse your employees if too much is thrown at them at once . This leads me to my next suggestion.

3.  Make them concise.

  • There are plenty of ways you can make sure your employee benefit presentations are kept concise. People have a limited amount of time available in their workday, so you want to respect their time as much as you want them to stay engaged in your presentations.  Some companies offer “Lunch and Learn” events where employees get to have lunch while learning about their benefit offerings. These type of events are successful because they add in a social element in addition to the professional one.   Another option is to record videos about employee benefit options that can be easily accessible at anytime from anywhere. Record short, lighthearted and educational videos for on-demand viewing using your company intranet or YouTube channel. By keeping them short, you can also keep your employees’ attention. Make them informative and fun.

4.  Make them a team effort.

  • No matter how good of a public speaker you are, there is power in numbers. Choose a co-presenter for your benefit enrollment presentations. This will make it more interesting, and if the two of you plan ahead you can have some fun with the presentation. Try to incorporate some humor into your presentation. Not only will it lighten the mood, it will help your audience to stay interested. The humor must be relevant to what you are discussing, not entirely off-topic. You can share a favorite story from your personal work experience that would relate to the topic and that your audience would enjoy or could learn from . Is there no one at your company to co-present with? Another idea is to bring a special speaker from one of your vendors who can offer more specialized insight.

5. Make them virtual. 

  • In this day and age, more and more companies have employees who work remotely. So, how do you ensure that they receive the benefit enrollment information they need? Make your presentations virtual. Engage with employees on social media to keep them informed about upcoming presentations or when a recent seminar has been made available online. Sponsor webinars that convey the benefit enrollment information they need to know. Have some of the webinars in the evening, so you’re your employees’ spouses also have the option to be included.   Another idea is to have a virtual benefits fair. Senior Business Manager at PGi, Karrie Andes, created a virtual benefits fair for her employees. She created iMeet rooms where vendors were present to answer employee questions. Links for each vendor room were sent out to the workforce with a schedule . This gave employees the ability to communicate with the vendors they wanted to at a time that was convenient for both of them.

  Below, I have compiled some vides from other companies to give you some ideas of what type of videos you could make for your own OE planning.

#1 – The Teaser

  • Y ou have changed in the past year
  • Y ou should anticipate any changes that will be occurring in your life during the upcoming year and enroll in your benefits accordingly

#2 – Explanation of Open Enrollment

  • Especially for new employees, create a video that simply explains what open enrollment is. It should cover what open enrollment is, that it only comes once a year, and that some benefit options and costs may have changed since last year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoiCqYp7cd4

#3 – Important Dates

  • Some companies have more than one open enrollment period per year. In these situations, in particular, it is useful to have a video showcasing the important enrollment dates employees need to be aware of. #4 – How to Enroll

  • Once it’s time to enroll, you need to provide your employees with instructions on how to do it and where to find the necessary information. I found this video from the University of Colorado to be very helpful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZhowALxyA4

Not only does the video tell employees how to enroll, it visually walks them through the process, directing them to the enrollment site and pointing out anything that could potentially confuse them in their decision-making.

These videos are just a starting point of what you could create for your own company. You will need to have videos that are custom-made for your company, whether they be generated in-house or from an outside hire. As technology becomes more accessible, the costs of incorporating custom videos for this type of venture goes down, sometimes as low as $4,000 per video . Getting videos made for your OE period may be more work upfront, but after that the process can be pretty self-sustaining. Another note worth mentioning, is that it saves time, which helps to free up your employees to be more productively working on other projects. According to a Brandon-Hall study, e-learning takes up to 60 percent less employee time than a traditional classroom setting .

Think of what you and your employees could accomplish with that extra time and start strategizing how to make your own company open enrollment videos.

While open enrollment may not inherently be the most thrilling topic, it is an important one. Your benefit presentations have the potential to be interesting and engaging to your employees, and if you put some of these tips into practice, you may be surprised to find that they can even be fun!

Benefits Open Enrollment April 13 – May 1, 2009

Open Enrollment • When is open enrollment? • Starts Monday, April 13th & ends Friday, May 1st • Online via Esther – http://esther.rice.edu • Rice Fest is Thursday, April 16th in the RMC/Ley Student Center • Talk with carriers • Ask benefits staff questions • Free chair massage (but long lines!) • Free cholesterol screening

Open Enrollment • Who needs to enroll this year? • As always, only employees who are making changes or wish to continue flexible spending accounts • Can people enroll remotely? • Yes! Esther is accessible from any internet connection, 24/7 • Changes are effective July 1st

Open Enrollment • Benefits team will be available during open enrollment to answer questions and assist with actual enrollment if needed: • Employees can make appointments with HR staff. • New location – great views! • Packets mailed Monday (~ April 13th) via campus mail • Packets will include individual Esther ID & PIN • Please forward packets to employees who are not on campus as quickly as possible (or point them online to the benefits website)

Medical • Same medical plans: • HMO, Flexplan (POS), PPO & Catastrophic • All plans still administered by Aetna • No plan design changes • A 5.0% rate increase across all plans for employees and for Rice: • Some sample rate increases include*: • HMO, employee only = $1.50 more per paycheck • POS, employee + children = $7.50 more per paycheck • PPO, employee + family = $21 more per paycheck * Twelve month salary.

Medical • Changes at Aetna include: • M.D. Anderson is now in-network for all plans (HMO and POS included) • HMO members who select Kelsey-Seybold for their PCP no longer need to stay within Kelsey-Seybold for their specialist care (although you will still need referrals for specialists except for well woman and routine eye exams) • Both of these items are effective today!

Wellness • The healthier we stay, the lower our medical plan costs! • Continuing the screenings for 2009-2010 • Coaching available to eligible employees • Based on the results of the healthy lifestyle screenings • Continuing Weight Watchers subsidy and we have a new leader on campus

Dental • Same dental plans: • United Concordia Indemnity Dental Plan • Aetna DMO • Same dental plan designs • Slight rate increases in the DMO (~5%) and a rate decrease for indemnity plan • Continuing 50% dental subsidy for employees earning less than $35,000 (as of April 1 of each year, on a full-time equivalent basis)

Flexible Spending Accounts • Flexible Benefits (still with WageWorks) • Medical Spending Account ($5,000 max, per employee) • Childcare Spending Account ($5,000 max, per family) • New plan year extension for this plan year • You now have until September 15, 2009 to incur expenses in both the medical and dependent care spending accounts – an extra 2 ½ months! • Please note that for the medical spending account, the WageWorks Visa card will only apply to the new plan year on July 1, 2009 • You have until November 30, 2009 to file for reimbursement for claims in the 2008-2009 plan year (now, July 1, 2008 through September 15, 2009) – but don’t wait until the last minute!

Other • Other benefits remain the same: • Life insurance – rates the same • Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) • Short-Term Disability • Long-Term Disability • Long-Term Care • Other voluntary benefits through Answer Financial • Auto, home, and even pet insurance • Travel Insurance • Tuition Benefits

Other • Retirement plan changes approaching • Retirement plan contributions will be sent weekly starting this summer • We will be adding Fidelity Investments to the Rice Retirement plan this summer • Look for more information on these enhancements soon…
