हरा (GREEN) या LOW – यह कम जोखिम का संकेत देता है।
नीला (BLUE) या GUARDED – हैकिंग , वायरस या अन्य दुर्भावनापूर्ण गतिविधि के सामान्य जोखिम का संकेत देता है।
पीला (YELLOW) या ELEVATED – हैकिंग, वायरस , या अन्य दुर्भावनापूर्ण गतिविधि के कारण एक महत्वपूर्ण जोखिम का संकेत देता है।
नारंगी (ORANGE) या HIGH – वृद्धि हुई हैकिंग, वायरस या अन्य दुर्भावनापूर्ण साइबर गतिविधि के एक उच्च जोखिम को इंगित करता है।
लाल (RED) या SEVERE – हैकिंग, वायरस या अन्य दुर्भावनापूर्ण गतिविधि के गंभीर जोखिम को इंगित करता है।

परिभाषा – यह एक तरह की सुरक्षा है जो की इंटरनेट से जुड़े हुए सिस्टमों के लिए होती है। इसमे हार्डवेयर, सॉफ्टवेयर और डाटा को साइबर अपराध से बचाने का भी काम किया जाता है।

साइबर सुरक्षा और सुरक्षा फोर्स दोनों ही डाटा की सुरक्षा के लिए रखे जाते हैं जिससे की किसी भी तरह से डाटा की चोरी न हो और सभी डॉकयुमेंट और फाइल सुरक्षित रहें। बड़े बड़े कम्प्युटर विशेषज्ञ और आईटी के प्रशिक्षित लोग इस तरह के काम करने में समर्थ होते हैं।

साइबर सुरक्षा में कई बार खतरा इसलिए है क्योंकि नेटवर्क कनैक्शन और इंटरनेट काफी तेज़ी से दुनिया को बदलता जा रहा है इस वजह से सुरक्षा काफी महत्वपूर्ण हो गयी है।

इस तरह की गतिविधिओं से निपटने के लिए प्रशासन काफी तरीके अपना रहा है। साइबर सुरक्षा के लिए काफी देशों द्वारा पुख्ता पूंजी का इस्तेमाल किया जा रहा है जिससे की उन देशों का निजी डाटा लीक नहीं हो और सारी जानकारी सुरक्षित रहे।

2017 में गार्ट्नर कंपनी ने अनुमान लगाया था की पूरे विश्व में इन्फॉर्मेशन सुरक्षा का व्यय 83.4 बिल्यन तक बढ़ गया है और यह 2016 से करीबन 7% बढ़ गया है। आने वाले समय में 2018 आखिर तक इसके उत्पाद और सर्विस में व्यय 93 बिल्यन तक हो जाएगा।

साइबर सुरक्षा हमलों के प्रकार (types of cyber attack in hindi)

बदलती तकनीकी की वजह से हमारी सुरक्षा और थ्रेट इंटेलिजेंस हमारे लिए काफी चुनौती भरा काम हो गया है। हालांकि साइबर धमकियों से बचने के लिए हमें हमारी जानकारी को सुरक्षित रखना काफी जरूरी है।

रेनसमवेएर (ransomware)– यह एक तरह का वाइरस होता है जो की अपराधी द्वारा लोगों के कम्प्युटर और सिस्टमों में हमला करने के लिए काम में आता है। यह कम्प्युटर में पड़ी फाइलो को काफी नुकसान पहूँचाता है। फिर उसके बाद अपराधी ने जिस किसी का भी कम्प्युटर या सिस्टम इस तरीके से खराब किया होता है उससे रिश्वत लेता है और उसी के बाद उसके सिस्टम को छोड़ता है।
मालवेएर (malware)– यह कम्प्युटर की किसी फाइल या फिर प्रोग्राम को नुकसान पहूँचाती है जैसे की कम्प्युटर वाइरस, वोर्म, ट्रोजन आदि।
सोश्ल इंजीनियरिंग (social engineering) – यह एक तरीके का हमला है जो की मनुष्य के वार्तालाप पर निर्भर करता है। जिससे की बड़ी चालाकी से लोगों को जाल में फसाया जा सके और उनसे उनके निजी डाटा, पासवर्ड आदि को निकलवाया जा सके। इस वजह से भी लोगों को काफी खतरा है इसलिए जिस किसी से भी बात करें काफी सोच समझ कर ही करें।
फिशिंग (fishing)– यह एक तरह का फ़्रौड है जिसमे फ़्रौड वाले ईमेल लोगों को किए जाते हैं जिससे की उन्हे यह लगे के ये मेल किसी अच्छी संस्था से आया है। इस तरह के मेल का मकसद जरूरी डाटा को चुराना होता है जैसे की क्रेडिट कार्ड की जानकारी या फिर लॉग इन जानकारी।

साइबर सुरक्षा के फायदे (advantages of cyber security in hindi)

साइबर सुरक्षा इसलिए जरूरी है क्योंकि सरकार, मिल्टरी, कॉर्पोरेट, फाइनेंशियल और मेडिकल संस्था काफी तरह के डाटा को इक्कठा करता है और उस डाटा को अपने सिस्टम, कम्प्युटर और अन्य उपकरणों में रखता है। इस डाटा का कुछ भाग काफी महत्वपूर्ण भी हो सकता है जिसके चोरी होने से किसी की निजी ज़िंदगी पर काफी गहरा प्रभाव पड़ सकता है और इससे उस संस्था की सारी मिट्टी पलित हो सकती है।

साइबर सुरक्षा की मदद से इस ढेरो डाटा को सुरक्षित रखा जाता है जिससे की यह डाटा किसी और के हाथ नहीं लग सके। जैसे जैसे डाटा बढ़ता जाता है वैसे वैसे हमें अच्छे और प्रभावशाली साइबर सुरक्षा के उत्पादों और सर्विसों की जरूरत पड़ती है।

साइबर सुरक्षा की मदद से हम साइबर हमले, डाटा की चोरी और चोरों की धमकी से बच सकते हैं। जब भी किसी संस्था में किसी अच्छे तरह के नेटवर्क की सुरक्षा होती है और किसी भी तरह की मुश्किल से बचने के तरीके होते हैं यह सब काम साइबर सुरक्षा के उत्पादों और सर्विसों की मदद से ही मुमकिन हो पाता है। उदाहरण के लिए काफी तरह के एंटिवाइरस आदि हमें वाइरस के हमलों से बचाते हैं।

साइबर सुरक्षा में नौकरियाँ (career in cyber security in hindi)

जिस तरह से साइबर खतरों की गति बढ़ती जा रही है उसी तरह लोगों की इन हमलों से बचने के लिए हार्डवेयर और सॉफ्टवेयर की आवश्यकता बढ़ती जा रही है।

सेक्युर्टी इंजीनियर (security engineer)– यह कंपनी को क्वालिटी कंट्रोल की मदद से थ्रेटस से बचाता है।
सेक्युर्टी आर्किटेक्ट (security architect)– यह इंसान प्लानिंग, अनलयजिंग, डिज़ाइनिंग, टेस्टिंग, मैंटेनिंग आदि का काम करता है और देख रेख करता है।
सेक्युर्टी अनेलयस्ट (security analyst)– यह इंसान यह देखता है की किस तरह से सिस्टम की सुरक्षा की जाये और क्या क्या मापदंड अपनाए जाएँ जिससे की डाटा को सुरक्षित रखा जा सके।

साइबर सिक्योरिटी कितने प्रकार के होते है (Types)

अब सवाल यह आता हैं की आखिर साइबर सिक्योरिटी कितने Types की होती हैं तो आपको बता दे की वैसे तो साइबर सिक्योरिटी विभिन्न Types की होती हैं लेकिन अगर हम मुख्य रूप से तो यह तीन Types के होते हैं जो की निम्नलिखित हैं –

1. Application Security

Application Security के तहत उन Applications, Software’s जिनका इस्तेमाल आप अपने कंप्युटर या मोबाइल पर इंटरनेट के माध्यम से करते हैं उनको और उनसे जुड़े सभी उपयोगों को Cyber Attack से बचाया जाता हैं। यह एक महत्वपूर्ण Type हैं साइबर सुरक्षा का और अगर आप दैनिक जीवन मे इंटरनेट का उपयोग करते रहते हैं तो इसको समझनाआपके लिए और भी आवश्यक हैं।

2. Network Security

Network Security ऐसे Organization’s और Company के लिए बेहद ही आवश्यक होते हैं जहां पर कंप्युटर्स, System Wireless Network के माध्यम से आपस मे जुड़े होते हैं। साइबर Criminals इन्ही Wireless Network के जरिए Cyber Attacks करते हैं ताकि System मे मौजूद Data और Information’s को Access कर सके।

इन्ही सभी Wireless Network पर हो रहे Attacks से बचने के लिए Network Security का इस्तेमाल किया जाता हैं ताकि System और System मे मौजूद Data, Information’s को सुरक्षा प्रदान कर Hackers से बचाया जा सके।

3. Cloud Security

Cloud Security के तहत Cloud storage पर Saved सभी Files, Data, Information’s, Documents इत्यादि को Cyber Attacks से बचाया जाता हैं और Cloud Storage को सुरक्षा प्रदान की जाती हैं। Websites के Owners से लेकर सभी तरह की बड़ी बड़ी Organization अपने महत्वपूर्ण Data को स्टोर करने के लिए Cloud Storage का उपयोग करते है।

ऐसे मे Cloud Security बहुत ही ज्यादा महत्वपूर्ण हो जाती हैं Cloud storage को सुरक्षा प्रदान करने के लिए।

4. IoT Security

हमने एक लेख के माध्यम से आपको यह बताया था की IoT क्या होता हैं , इसे हम इंटरनेट ऑफ थिंग्स के नाम से भी जानते हैं। आज के समय मे IOT का उपयोग हर जगह किया जा रहा हैं और IOT Devices जैसे Smart Lights, Smartwatches , Smart lock यह सब इंटरनेट से जुड़े रहते हैं जिसकी वजह से इनको सुरक्षित रखना बेहद ही जरूरी हैं।

ऐसे मे IoT Security का उपयोग किया जाता हैं जिसके तहत IOT Devices को Cyber Attacks से बचाया जाता हैं और उन्हे सुरक्षित रखा जाता हैं।

5. Mobile Security

आज के समय मे सभी तरह के Organization’s के Owners और हर तरह के लोग मोबाइल का इस्तेमाल करते हैं ऐसे मे हर किसी के मोबाइल मे Personal Data, Information’s मौजूद होते हैं ऐसे मे मोबाइल को Cyber Attacks से बचाना बेहद जरूरी है। ताकि मोबाइल मे मौजूद Personal Data, Information’s सुरक्षित रहे।

जैसा की नाम से ही पता चलता है हमारे computer में ransom ware एक बार इनस्टॉल होने के बाद हमारे सारे डाटा को एन्क्रिप्ट कर दिया जाता है यानी उसे लॉक कर दिया जाता है या यूँ कहें किडनैप कर दिया जाता है और उसी अनलॉक या डिक्रिप्ट करने के लिए हमसे पैसे मांगे जाते हैं बिलकुल वैसे ही जैसे किसी को किडनैप करने के बाद उसे छुड़ाने के बदले फीरोती या ransom मांगी जाती है। Ransomware के ज्यादातर भुगतान Bitcoin या crypto currency के द्वारा ही होते हैं जिससे ransomware के developer को या ransomware भेजने वाले को पकड़ा ना जा सके।

Malware क्या है?

Malware एक तरह का कंप्यूटर सॉफ्टवेयर ही होता है जिसे हम Malicious Software भी कहते हैा यह एक तरह का दूषित सॉफ्टवेयर होता है जिसका एक ही मकसद होता है लोगो के कंप्यूटर को नुक्सान पहुचाना. malware को बनाया ही इसी मकसद के साथ जाता है की यह हमारे या किसी स्पेसिफिक यूजर के कंप्यूटर को नुक्सान पहुचाये इसके और भी कई मकसद हो सकते हैं जैसे आपका डाटा चुराना, आपका पासवर्ड चुराना, या आपके कंप्यूटर के डाटा को मिटाना यानी डिलीट कर देना. Malicious Software अपने आप नहीं बनते इनको किसी डेवलपर या हैकर द्वारा ही बनाया जाता है, जिससे वो हमारे कंप्यूटर को हानि पंहुचा सके। Malicious Software आपके कंप्यूटर में कई तरीको से आ सकते हैं जैसे या तो आप खुद ही उन्हें गलती से डाउनलोड कर ले या किसी स्पैम ईमेल के जरिये या किसी वेबसाइट के जरिये. क्यूंकि ऐसी कई वेबसाइट हैं जिन पर malicious सॉफ्टवेयर की लिंक उपलब्ध है और एक ही दिन में लोगों को ढेरों स्पैम ईमेल आते हैं इनमे से कितने ही लोग malware डाउनलोड भी कर लेते हैं और इनका शिकार हो जाते है।

Spyware (स्पाईवेयर)

Spyware का काम होता है आपके द्वारा अपने कंप्यूटर में की गयी सभी एक्टिविटीज और डाटा पर नज़र रखना और उन्हें किसी और के पास भेजना होता है बिलकुल एक जासूस की तरह यह किसी भी अनजान सॉफ्टवेयर के साथ bind हो कर इनस्टॉल हो सकते हैं क्यूंकि ये बहुत ही छोटे होते है। Spyware को किसी ख़ास व्यक्ति, जगह या किसी ख़ास कंप्यूटर को टारगेट करके बनाया जाता है और इसका काम सिर्फ आपके डाटा पर नज़र रखना होता है।

Adware (ऐडवेयर)

Adware का ख़ास मकसद आपके device या डाटा को हानि पहुचाना नहीं होता बल्कि इसके इनस्टॉल होने के बाद आपको बिना किसी app को ओपन किये ही होम स्क्रीन पर ही advertise दिखने लगते हैं यह अक्सर स्मार्टफोन में देखने को मिलता है यह तरह तरह की टेढ़ी मेढ़ी वेबसाइट से कुछ भी डाउनलोड करने की बजह से होता है।

इन साइबर हमलों से हम बचें कैसे?

आप ईमेल का स्तेमाल करते है। या किसी बैंक की वैबसाइट पर जाकर कोई ट्रैंज़ैक्शन करते हैं, तब वहाँ पर आप Password का उपयोग जरूर करेंगे। तो यहा पर हमारा सुझाब है की आप जो भी पासवर्ड डालें वह बहुत ही मजबूत होना चाहिए। यानि आसानी से पहचानने वाला पासवर्ड नहीं होना चाहिए।
ईमेल अटैचमेंट को ठीक से देखकर ही खोलें और अनजान व्यक्ति द्वारा भेजे गए ईमेल अटैचमेंट्स को तो बिलकुल भी ना खोलें। डाउनलोड करने के बाद उन्हें ठीक से किसी antimalware software से स्कैन कर लें।
पायरेटेड चीज़ें जैसे फ़िल्में या पेड सॉफ्टवेयर फ्री में डाउनलोड करने के चक्कर में विलकुल भी ना पड़ें यह गलत है और इसकी बजह से आपको और आपके कीमती डाटा को भी खतरा हो सकता हैं।
कहीं पर भी आपको फ्री के WI FI के चक्कर मे नहीं पड़ना चाहिए। नहीं तो ये फ्री वाले WIFI, आपके कीमती डाटा को चुरा कर इसका गलत स्तेमाल कर सकते हैं।

साइबर सुरक्षा की कई अलग-अलग परतें होती हैं, जिनके द्वारा एक नेटवर्क को या एक इंटरनेट यूजर को अधिक से अधिक सुरक्षा प्रदान की जाती है, इनमे हार्डवेयर डिवाइस और सॉफ्टवेयर दोनों का ही उपयोग किया जाता है। Network & Gateway Security :- इसे नेटवर्क की पहली परत कह सकते हैं, जिसके द्वारा नेटवर्क के incoming और outgoing ट्रैफिक को कंट्रोल किया जाता है, और नेटवर्क में आने वाले threats और attacks को रोका जाता है। इसमें मुख्यतः Firewall device का इस्तेमाल होता है। Application Security :- नेटवर्क में उपयोग की जाने वाली सभी एप्लीकेशन के डेवलोपमेन्ट और इंस्टालेशन phase को ध्यान में रखा जाता है, की उनमे किसी प्रकार की कमी ना रह जाए। यदि किसी एप्लीकेशन को नेटवर्क में इनस्टॉल भी किया जाना हो, तो एक सुरक्षा प्रक्रिया से गुजारा जाता है, जिसमे उसके इंस्टालेशन के लिए पासवर्ड अनिवार्य होता है और limited user rights लगाए जाते हैं। Network Access Control ( NAC ) :- नेटवर्क से जुड़ने के लिए एक काफी सुरक्षित प्रक्रिया है, जिसमे Users के अनुसार policy बना दी जाती हैं और उनके नेटवर्क से जुड़े अधिकारों को सिमित कर दिया जाता है। Data loss prevention ( DLP ) :- इस प्रक्रिया द्वारा डाटा की सुरक्षा को बढ़ाया जाता है, जिसमे डाटा चोरी होने या लीक होने का कोई खतरा नहीं रहता, यानि डाटा पूरी तरह से एनकोड हो जाता है। Email Security :- ईमेल से होने वाले खतरों की रोकथाम के लिए ईमेल सिक्योरिटी उपकरणों जैसे spam filters हार्डवेयर या सॉफ्टवेयर का इस्तेमाल किया जाता है। Antivirus & Anti spyware software :- नेटवर्क सुरक्षा में सबसे आंखरी सुरक्षा कंप्यूटर की रहती है, जिसके लिए कंप्यूटर में एंटीवायरस सॉफ्टवेयर का होना बहुत जरुरी है, ताकि वायरस से होने वाले नुक्सान से रोकथाम की जा सके। इन सभी सुरक्षा परतों के साथ-साथ एक इंटरनेट user को अपने स्तर पर कुछ नियमो का पालन करना भी आवश्यक है, जैसे strong password का इस्तेमाल करना और अनजान ईमेल अटैचमेंट न खोलना।

साइबर हमलों के प्रकार (Cyber attack types in hindi)

Malware :- मैलवेयर में सभी प्रकार के दुर्भावनापूर्ण सॉफ्टवेयर आते हैं, जैसे की spyware, ransomware, virus और worms, किसी कंप्यूटर या नेटवर्क में इस प्रकार के खतरों के आने का अधिक्तर मुख्य श्रोत links और ईमेल attachments होते हैं।

जिसमे यदि कोई user क्लिक कर देता है, तो software या script run हो जाती है, जिसके बाद user का कंप्यूटर पर से कंट्रोल चला जाता है और नेटवर्क से जुड़ी सभी services ब्लॉक हो जाती हैं और Spyware डाटा ट्रांसमिट करना शुरू कर देता है। Phishing :- इसमें सम्मानित संस्थानों के नाम पर users को ईमेल भेजी जाती हैं, और निजी जानकारियाँ मांगी जाती हैं, जैसे डेबिट कार्ड और क्रेडिट कार्ड से जुड़ी जरुरी जानकारि इत्यादि और यह आज कल एक सामान्य बात हो गई है। Man in the middle (MitM) :- MitM attack में किन्ही दो लोगो के बीच के संचार में attacker द्वारा छेड़-छाड़ कर दी जाती है, यानि दोनों के बीच के communication का attacker के पास कंट्रोल होता है, जिसका user’s को कोई अंदाजा नहीं रहता है, और सभी जरुरी जानकारियाँ attacker तक पहुँच जाती हैं। Zero-day :- इसमें हैकर द्वारा किसी सॉफ्टवेयर के loopholes को निशाना बनाया जाता है, जिसका सॉफ्टवेयर प्रकाशक को कोई अंदाज़ा नही रहता है, और प्रकाशक द्वारा recovery patch निकालने से पहले ही सॉफ्टवेयर में पूरी तरह से हैकर द्वारा छेड़ छाड़ कर दी जाती है। इन सभी साइबर सुरक्षा हमलों की अलावा भी threats के कई प्रकार होते हैं, जिनसे इंटरनेट user को नुक्सान पहुँचाया जा सकता है।

साइबर सुरक्षा के लाभ (Benefits of Cyber security in Hindi)

साइबर सुरक्षा के कई फायदे हैं, इसके द्वारा हर स्तर पर नेटवर्क को इंटरनेट से आने वाले बाहरी खतरों से बचाया जा सकता है, ताकि एक आम user नेटवर्क और इंटरनेट पर सुरक्षित होकर अपना कार्य कर सकता है।

साइबर सिक्योरिटी के कुछ मुख्य फायदे इस प्रकार से हैं।

मॉलवेयर से होने वाले नुकसान से बचा जा सकता है, जिसमे हर प्रकार के threats का खतरा रहता है, जैसे Virus, Spyware, Worm, Ransomware, Adware और भी बहुत से जिनसे डाटा और device को खतरा हो सकता है।
डाटा को सुरक्षा प्रदान की जाती है, जिससे महत्वपूर्ण डाटा लीक या चोरी होने का खतरा कम हो जाता है।
नेटवर्क को सुरक्षा प्रदान की जाती है, जिससे अनचाहे access को नेटवर्क में घुसने से रोका जा सकता है।
बाहरी सुरक्षा के साथ-साथ नेटवर्क Users पर भी restriction लगाई जा सकती है, जिससे अनचाही गतिविधियों पर लगाम लगाई जा सकती है।

Information or Data Security :- इसका काम रहता है web server में store data को secure करना।

Password Security :- साइबर सुरक्षा में Password Security का प्रयोग बहुत अधिक किया जाता है। आज रोजाना अनेक अकाउंट इंटरनेट पर बनाए जाते हैं। जिन्हें सुरक्षा प्रदान करने के लिए एक पासवर्ड का प्रयोग किया जाता है। इस सही पासवर्ड की सहायता से ही किसी अकाउंट को खोला जा सकता है।

Cloud Security :- इस सुरक्षा को क्लाउड कंप्यूटर सुरक्षा कहा जाता है। इस प्रकार की सुरक्षा में किसी क्लाउड बेस्ड सर्विस या क्लाउड डेटाबेस को सुरक्षित रखा जाता है। क्योकि क्लाउड सिस्टम में रखा डाटा एक लंबे समय तक ऑनलाइन सर्वर में स्टोर रहता है। जिसे सुरक्षा प्रदान करना बहुत आवश्यक होता है।

Virus एक तरह के program या code होता है जो software और txt file के अंदर में insert रहता है। और बह software या text जब कंप्युटर में install होता है तब उस सॉफ्टवेयर के अंदर की program या code आसली खेल शुरू करता है। उस program या code कोई भी valuable डाटा को encrypt, corrupt, delete और move करने की क्षमता रखती है। और Virus को designed किया जाता है किसी particular file या software को corrupt करने के लिए।

Adware क्या है – Adware in Hindi

Malware के दूसरा types है Adware। इस Adware का काम होता है unwanted या malicious advertising को कंप्युटर की screen में serve करना। इस तरह के Ads continuously कंप्युटर के home screen आता रहता है जो बह बहुत irritative और spams है। और आप अगर गलती है की notifications को allow कर देते हो तो औकंप्युटर के performance को भी बहुत slow down या fregg हो जाता है।

Worms क्या है – Worms in Hindi

Virus की तरह ही होता है Worms । किन्तु Worms और Virus के बीच एक ही फरक है और बह है Virus spread नहीं करता है मतलब virus कोई particular file या software को corrupt करने के लिए design किया गया है किन्तु worms spread करता है मतलब Worms खुद को multiply बनाने की कौसिस करता है। मतलब आपके system में अगर malware घुस जाता है तो एक file multiple drive में copy हो जाता है।

ट्रोजन क्या है – Trojans in Hindi

Trojans भी एक dangers malware है जो भेस बदल के आपके कंप्युटर में आता है। आपको लगता है बह एक अलग genuine software है किन्तु backend में आपके कंप्युटर को बुरी तरह से नुकसान पहुँचाती है। सायद आपने देखा होगा आप जब जब कोई unauthenticated website जाते हो तो उस website में अजनक एक notification आ जाता है के आपके phone या computer में memory full हो गया है आप तुरंत इस software को डाउनलोड करे।

internet की दुनिया में सबसे खोफनक malware है Ransomware । इसका काम होता है network के जरिए server में घुस के Server की सभी डाटा को चोरी करना । और बाद में hacker उस डाटा की बदले में बहुत सारे पैसे की demand करना। और यह सब process पूरा silently होता है, user कोई पता नहीं चलता है के उसका personal data कोई चुरा रहा है। इस Ransomware virus email attachments, software’s downloads, और direct messages के जरिए spread किया जाता है।

देखिए दोस्तों Spy का मतलब ही होता है जासूस । ठीक इसी तरह Spyware User के जानकारी या अनुमति के बिना Users की valuable information के ऊपर जासूसी करते है। और user को इस चीज का कुछ भी पता नहीं चलता। इहाँ पर valuable information का मतलब Users के credit card या banking information, web browsing data, अलग अलग accounts के User name & Password, etc. को कहा जा रहा है। और बाद में Hackers इन सब information’s का इस्तेमाल करके users के साथ धोखाधड़ी करते है।

स्पूफिंग (Spoofing) साइबर सुरक्षा में एक प्रकार का हमला है जिसमें एक व्यक्ति, सिस्टम या उपकरण अपनी पहचान, स्थान, या संचार को छिपा कर अन्य व्यक्ति, सिस्टम या उपकरण के रूप में प्रदर्शित होता है। इसका उपयोग अक्सर धोखाधड़ी, अवैध प्रवेश, डेटा की चोरी, अवैध संचार या आपूर्ति जाँच जैसी गतिविधियों को संभव बनाने के लिए किया जाता है।

2022 की nov में Costa Rica के govt यह declared किया था के उसके किसी एक महत्वपूर्ण कार्यालय की web server पर ransomware attack हुआ था। और cyber criminal ओ ने $20 million ransom payment की मांग कर रहे थे। और भी बोला गया था यह payment अगर नहीं दोगे तो सारा data delete कर दिया जाएगा। और बाद में Costa Rica के govt को यह payment देना पड़ा था।
और उसी तरह से October 2022 में Medibank की server को hack करके 3.9 million current and former customers की डाटा को चुरा लिए थे। और बाद में demand की थे $9.7 million dollar की। और इस payment को भी Medibank को देना पड़ा था।
September 2022 में famous game company Rockstar Games की दो popular games Grand Theft Auto 5 and 6 की source code को release होने से पहले ही hackers ओ ने download कर लिया था और बाद में बहुत समझने बाद बह downloaded files को लोटा भी दिए थे।
यह एक स्पष्ट केस है जब रूसी हैकर्स ने SolarWinds के Orion सॉफ्टवेयर में मालवेयर इंजेक्शन की विधि का उपयोग करके कई सरकारी एजेंसियों, निजी कंपनियों और अन्य संगठनों को हमला किया था। और hacker ओ ने $18 million dollor का मांग किया था । इस payment को भी पड़ा था।
जुलाई 2020 में, कई universities, institutions and politicians के अकाउंट हैक किए गए थे और यह सब Twitter पर संचालित हो रहा था। यह हमला Bitcoin समर्थकों को धोखे से लुभाने के लिए किया गया था।

Why is Cybersecurity Important?

Cybersecurity is important because it encompasses everything that pertains to protecting our sensitive data, personally identifiable information (PII), protected health information (PHI), personal information, intellectual property, data, and governmental and industry information systems from theft and damage attempted by criminals and adversaries.
Cybersecurity risk ;is increasing, driven by global connectivity and usage of cloud services, like Amazon Web Services, to store& sensitive data and personal information. Widespread poor configuration of cloud services paired with increasingly sophisticated cyber criminals means the risk that your organization suffers from a successful cyber attack data breach is on the rise.
Gone are the days of simple firewalls and antivirus software being your sole security measures. Business leaders can no longer leave information security to cybersecurity professionals.
Cyber threats can come from any level of your organization. You must educate your staff about simple social engineering scams like phishing and more sophisticated cybersecurity attacks like ransomware attacks (think WannaCry) or other malware designed to steal intellectual property or personal data.
GDPR and other laws mean that cybersecurity is no longer something businesses of any size can ignore. Security incidents regularly affect businesses of all sizes and often make the front page causing irreversible reputational damage to the companies involved.

The importance of cybersecurity

Cybersecurity's importance is on the rise. Fundamentally, our society is more technologically reliant than ever before and there is no sign that this trend will slow. Personal data that could result in identity theft is now posted to the public on our social media accounts. Sensitive information like social security numbers, credit card information and bank account details are now stored in cloud storage services like Dropbox or Google Drive.

The fact of the matter is whether you are an individual, small business or large multinational, you rely on computer systems every day. Pair this with the rise in cloud services, poor cloud service security, smartphones and the Internet of Things (IoT) and we have a myriad of cybersecurity threats that didn't exist a few decades ago. We need to understand the difference between cybersecurity and information security, even though the skillsets are becoming more similar.

Governments around the world are bringing more attention to cybercrimes. GDPR is a great example. It has increased the reputational damage of data breaches by forcing all organizations that operate in the EU to:

Communicate data branches
Appoint a data-protection officer
Require user consent to process information
Anonymize data for privacy

The trend towards public disclosure is not limited to Europe. While there are no national laws overseeing data breach disclosure in the United States, there are data breach laws in all 50 states. Commonalities include:

The requirement to notify those affect as soon as possible
Let the government know as soon as possible
Pay some sort of fine

California was the first state to regulate data breach disclosures in 2003, requiring persons or businesses to notify those affected "without reasonable delay" and "immediately following discovery". Victims can sue for up to $750 and companies can be fined up to $7,500 per victim.

This has driven standards boards like the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to release frameworks to help organizations understand their security risks, improve cybersecurity measures and prevent cyber attacks.

Why is cybercrime increasing?

Cybercriminals are becoming more sophisticated, changing what they target, how they affect organizations and their methods of attack for different security systems.

Social engineering remains the easiest form of cyber attack with ransomware, phishing, and spyware being the easiest form of entry. Third-party and fourth-party vendors who process your data and have poor cybersecurity practices are another common attack vector, making vendor risk management and third-party risk management all the more important.

According to the Ninth Annual Cost of Cybercrime Study from Accenture and the Ponemon Institute, the average cost of cybercrime for an organization has increased by $1.4 million over the last year to $13.0 million and the average number of data breaches rose by 11 percent to 145. Information risk management has never been more important.

Data breaches can involve financial information like credit card numbers or bank account details, protected health information (PHI), personally identifiable information (PII), trade secrets, intellectual property and other targets of industrial espionage. Other terms for data breaches include unintentional information disclosure, data leak, cloud leak, information leakage or a data spill.

Other factors driving the growth in cybercrime include:

The distributed nature of the Internet
The ability for cybercriminals to attack targets outside their jurisdiction making policing extremely difficult
Increasing profitability and ease of commerce on the dark web
The proliferation of mobile devices and the Internet of Things.

What is the impact of cybercrime?

A lack of focus on cybersecurity can damage your business in range of ways including:

Economic costs: Theft of intellectual property, corporate information, disruption in trading and the cost of repairing damaged systems
Reputational costs: Loss of consumer trust, loss of current and future customers to competitors and poor media coverage
Regulatory costs: GDPR and other data breach laws mean that your organization could suffer from regulatory fines or sanctions as a result of cybercrimes

All businesses, regardless of the size, must ensure all staff understand cybersecurity threats and how to mitigate them. This should include regular training and a framework to work with to that aims to reduce the risk of data leaks or data breaches.

Given the nature of cybercrime and how difficult it can be to detect, it is difficult to understand the direct and indirect costs of many security breaches. This doesn't mean the reputational damage of even a small data breach or other security event is not large. If anything, consumers expect increasingly sophisticated cybersecurity measures as time goes on.

How to protect your organization against cybercrime

There are three simple steps you can take you increase security and reduce risk of cybercrime:

Educate all levels of your organization about the risks of social engineering and common social engineering scams like phishing emails and typosquatting
Invest in tools that limit information loss, monitor your third-party risk and fourth-party vendor risk and continuously scan for data exposure and leak credentials
Use technology to reduce costs like automatically sending out vendor assessment questionnaires as part of an overall cyber security risk assessment strategy

Companies should no longer be asking why is cybersecurity important, but how can I ensure my organization's cybersecurity practices are sufficient to comply with GDPR and other regulation and to protect my business against sophisticated cyber attacks.

Examples of damages to companies affected by cyber attacks and data breaches

The amount of cyber attacks and data breaches in the recent years is staggering and it's easy to produce a laundry list of companies who are household names that have been affected.

Here's a few examples:

Equifax: The Equifax cybercrime identity theft event affected approximately 145.5 million U.S. consumers along with 400,000-44 million British residents and 19,000 Canadian residents. Equifax shares dropped 13% in early trading the day after the breach and numerous lawsuits were filed against Equifax as a result of the breach. Not to mention the reputational damage that Equifax suffered. On July 22 2019, Equifax agreed to a settlement with the FTC which included a $300 million fund for victim compensation, $175m for states and territories in the agreement and $100 million in fines.
eBay: Between February and March 2014, eBay was the victim of a breach of encrypted passwords, which resulted in asking all of its 145 million users to reset their password. Attackers used a small set of employee credentials to access this trove of user data. The stolen information included encrypted passwords and other personal information, including names, e-mail addresses, physical addresses, phone numbers and dates of birth. The breach was disclosed in May 2014, after a month-long investigation by eBay.
Adult Friend Finder: In October 2016, hackers collected 20 years of data on six databases that included names, email addresses and passwords for The FriendFinder Network. The FriendFinder Network includes websites like Adult Friend Finder, Penthouse.com, Cams.com, iCams.com and Stripshow.com. Most of the passwords were protected only by the weak SHA-1 hashing algorithm, which meant that 99% of them had been cracked by the time LeakedSource.com published its analysis of the entire data set on November 14.
Yahoo: Yahoo disclosed that a breach in August 2013 by a group of hackers had compromised 1 billion accounts. In this instance, security questions and answers were also compromised, increasing the risk of identity theft. The breach was first reported by Yahoo on December 14, 2016, and forced all affected users to change passwords, and to reenter any unencrypted security questions and answers to make them encrypted in the future. However, by October of 2017, Yahoo changed the estimate to 3 billion user accounts. An investigation revealed that users' passwords in clear text, payment card data and bank information were not stolen. Nonetheless, this remains one of the largest data breaches of this type in history.

While these are a few examples of high profile data breaches, it's important to remember that there are even more that never made it to the front page.

Ransomware attacks surge worries cybersecurity experts: 'Scattered Spider' group in focus

WASHINGTON (TND) — Cybersecurity experts fear ransomware attacks could be on the rise, in part because of a group called "Scattered Spider."

"They're a loose affiliation. They don't have the central core but they do have a central mission and that is engaging in these hacking exercises," said Scott White, the Director of the Cybersecurity program at George Washington University.

White says "Scattered Spider" is not a new group of criminals. They've actually been around of quite some time.

They went by Star Fraud. They went by Scatter Swine. UNC3944," said White.

Different aliases, but the same group; So who are they? White says they are a team of hackers, each with different specialties, who merge their skills together.

"They come together because they have skillsets and begin to identify with that particular group and find ways through the dark web to begin to communicate with this group and then share collectively these operations," said White.

One of the group's key features is something called social engineering.

"They generally target people to get what we call PII. Personally identifiable information," White said.

That could be everything from their names all the way up to potential identification codes making it easier to access company information. Now aside from "Scattered Spider", White says another reason why we could see more attacks is because ransomware is one of the top capital accumulators for cyber criminals.

People get invested in this because it's lucrative," White said.

Plus, there's more access to ransomware than we've seen in the past.
