CWRU Undergraduate Research Society (URS) is Case Western's premier hub for all things research! The mission of URS is to create a network of individuals who utilize their knowledge and experience to help inspire, support, and develop a higher caliber of CWRU undergraduate researchers.

We work towards our mission by utilizing the collective experiential knowledge of undergraduate researchers to support one another in their pursuit of research to find research, connect and network, develop skills, develop postgraduate plans, collaboration, and locally impact our society.

Apply for funding programs to conduct research this summer

The Undergraduate Research Office has four summer funding opportunities available to undergraduates in all majors at Case Western Reserve University.

The following opportunities are available:

  • Provost Summer Undergraduate Research Grant (PSURG): A full-time summer program that supports students in the biological, chemistry and social sciences (especially psychological sciences and anthropology). 
  • Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM): A program for undergraduates conducting research related to science, engineering, technology or mathematics.
  • Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (AHSS): A program for students conducting research or participating in creative endeavors in the arts, humanities and social sciences.
  • Summer Undergraduate Research in Energy and Sustainability (SURES): A formal 10-week program for undergraduates to participate with faculty in research and engages students, staff, faculty and community members in discussion and debate of energy issues.

The deadline for the PSURG and STEM programs is Feb. 15, and the deadline for the AHSS and SURES programs is March 8.
