Cambridge Creative Education Centre is aimed for providing diverse creative education courses for different countries. Creative Education is to use creative pedagogies and educational theories to support education in different ways. The company has a strong research team with senior researchers and lecturers from the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge. The first course is “Learning English through Drama for Years 3-12” based on the drama pedagogy research. Enhancing creative education

Creative education, which covers a wide array of subjects, from art and design, to media, dance and music, plays a crucial role in preparing the next generation of innovative workers.

This report published by the PEC with researchers from the Institute for Employment Studies (IES), together with Arts Council England illustrates the value of a creative education for all children. The report is based on a new survey of over 7,000 secondary school teachers which found that creative subject teachers (for example art, design and technology) are the most likely to provide ‘live’ industry experience for their pupils. 

On top of this, creative subject teachers were found to be more likely than other teachers to support industry awareness across all eight measures including; ‘providing employer encounters and inspiration schemes’, ‘industry focused projects, competitions and prizes’ and ‘industry career talks in schools’.  

Despite the challenges faced during the pandemic, there has been ongoing innovation in creative education, with teachers demonstrating resilience and creativity in redeploying resources and adopting digital technologies to support learning in schools.

The promotion of creativity in educational settings can help young people build entrepreneurial skills and improve their future employability, both within and beyond the cultural sector. This report shows the overarching benefits of enhancing the value of creative education in secondary schools, especially in the aftermath of the pandemic which had a significant negative impact on both teachers and students. 

The creative education sector faces important challenges which have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, including unequal funding and persistent inequalities disproportionately affecting young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Effective strategies focusing on providing students with ‘live’ industry experience, local collaboration, and leadership have the potential to resolve lingering issues and improve the quality of today’s creative education. 

The report calls for consistent investment and resources to better support the universal delivery of creative education in schools across the UK. 

The research has found that:

  • 99% of creative subject teachers in UK secondary schools felt that teaching was disrupted during the pandemic, 4% higher than other teachers from varying disciplines. 
  • 88% of young people aged 11+ report considering a creative career, or the possibility of exploring one more, after direct engagement where they were given the opportunity to learn about the panoply of jobs existing within the UK’s creative industries.
  • 93% of 16-18 year olds report that creative education fostering self-expression, teamwork and empathy, positively impacts on their mental health and wellbeing.

We offer a unique   part-time   education near

Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk for children from

the September after they turn 5 until age 11.

individualised teaching of the core skills using Montessori methods within a focus on the environment and creativity . 

Our aim is to develop in children a deep care and respect for themselves, for others and for the world in which they live.

Spotlight on innovation in Moscow

The Integrated Medical Information and Analytical System (IMIAS) improves the quality of healthcare delivery in Moscow by centralizing the electronic medical records of Muscovites. IMIAS not only facilitates easy access to healthcare services online such as locating the nearest medical institutions, scheduling an appointment, or accessing medical e-records, but also reduces the administrative burden on medical personnel. By continuously updating non-sensitive data from patients in real time, the system provides the authorities with key performance metrics like the number of patients, waiting times, length of visits and estimated cost savings, which can be used to improve Moscow’s healthcare system.

Vision and approach to innovation capacity

Along with 50% of cities surveyed, Moscow does not have an explicit innovation strategy . Similar to more than half of cities surveyed, Moscow approaches innovation capacity both from a holistic/macro level, as well as in specific policy areas.

Policy areas that Moscow is focused on

Development of innovation infrastructure and innovative businesses : The Moscow Innovation Cluster is a platform for introducing innovations and developing cooperation between large corporations, industry, SMEs, educational and scientific organizations, development institutions and the city. The cluster IT platform unites the entire innovation ecosystem of Moscow and provides new and unique opportunities for interaction between its actors. The platform provides companies with tools to build cooperation chains and create projects that can gain direct access to all government support measures; tools to promote their products and services; tools to interact with authorities, development institutions and state corporations; opportunities for concluding deals by means of a smart contract system.

Human capital : The Profliner system allows to build individual educational and professional trajectories from school to professional implementation. Among the main features of the system are: identifying talents, providing access to modern tools for career guidance; development of individual recommendations in accordance with the list of relevant and promising professions in Moscow, the possibility of selecting additional education, conducting specialized events and internships; providing direct communication with the employer, as well as providing opportunities for students to prove themselves and participate in exclusive events from leading employers.

QUT dance students take centre stage at Brisbane Powerhouse

Twelve QUT dance students and three QUT dance alumnus are among 50 dancers taking to the Brisbane Powerhouse stage this week for Colossus .

Colossus , which runs from Wednesday April 17 to Saturday April 20 as part of the OHM 2024 Festival , features local dancers from QUT and also the Queensland Ballet’s pre-professional training programs.

The work was created by the internationally renowned  Stephanie Lake Dance Company  and has wowed audiences worldwide.

With a soundtrack by composter Robin Fox, Colossus is described as ‘a mind-boggling feat of living architecture as a horde of black-clad bodies explodes into action, sometimes battling for control, sometimes excluding individuals, sometimes existing in harmony, always thrilling’.

Since its premiere in 2018, the show has toured globally and has been performed by more than 600 dancers. It is especially designed to be performed by local dancers and dance students in each city it tours.

The current production highlights QUT’s important role as a major sponsor of Brisbane Powerhouse and supporter of the arts. Facilitated by QUT dance lecturer Dr Elizabeth Gibbs , it also provides a unique opportunity for dance students to take part in a world-class production and perform before an enthusiastic audience.

“This is an incredibly exciting performance opportunity for our dance students. Stephanie Lake is a legendary choreographer and Brisbane has been chosen by her company for the 2024 season opening of Colossus so that is a real privilege for QUT to be associated with,” Dr Gibbs said.

“This type of experience is so essential in preparing students for a career in the arts.”

The QUT dance students appearing in Colossus are: Charli Knoth, Jordan Hayes, Riley Krasnoff, Ella Gray, Lucy Dougherty, Caitlin Appi, Sahra McAnany, Stiliana Alfred, Madison Smith, Grant Mitchelson, Kelsey Dell, Eliza Quinlan. They are joined by QUT alumnus Kerrod Box, Bryna Glass and Buddy Malbasias.

QUT is the exclusive tertiary education partner to Brisbane Powerhouse while the OHM Festival there has been co-curated by QUT alumnus Lawrence English.

The OHM Festival has also given QUT’s Creative Industry students the chance to workshop with French audiovisual artists Antoine Schmitt and Franck Vigroux who combine analogue instruments and visualised algorithms to create works of sound and video.
