Eureka Math 7th Grade Module 6 Lesson 4 Problem Set Answer Key 5

Question 6. 6. Five angles are at a point. The measurement of each angle is one of five consecutive, positive whole numbers. a. Determine the measurements of all five angles. b. Compare the expressions you used for the five angles and their combined expression. Explain how they are equivalent and how they reveal different information about this situation. Answer: x + (x + 1) + (x + 2) + (x + 3) + (x + 4) = 360 5x + 10 = 360 5x + 10 – 10 = 360 – 10 5x = 350 (\(\frac{1}{5}\))5x = (\(\frac{1}{5}\))350 x = 70 Angle measures are 70°, 71°, 72°, 73°, and 74°.

b. By the commutative and associative laws, x + (x + 1) + (x + 2) + (x + 3) + (x + 4) is equal to (x + x + x + x + x) + (1 + 2 + 3 + 4), which is equal to 5x + 10. The first expression, x + (x + 1) + (x + 2) + (x + 3) + (x + 4), shows the sum of five unknown numbers where the second is 1 degree more than the first, the third is 1 degree more than the second, and so on. The expression 5x + 10 shows the sum of five times an unknown number with 10.

Eureka Math 7th Grade Module 6 Lesson 4 Problem Set Answer Key 7

Question 9. The difference between three times the measurement of the complement of an angle and the measurement of the supplement of that angle is 20°. What is the measurement of the angle? Answer: 3(90 – x) – (180 – x) = 20 270 – 3x – 180 + x = 20 90 – 2x = 20 90 – 90 – 2x = 20 – 90 – 2x = – 70 ( – \(\frac{1}{2}\))( – 2x) = ( – \(\frac{1}{2}\))( – 70) x = 35 The measurement of the angle is 35°.

Geo.6 Coordinate Geometry

This unit brings together students’ experience from previous years with their new understanding from this course for an in-depth study of coordinate geometry. Students encounter a new coordinate transformation notation such as \((x,y) \rightarrow (x+3, y+1)\) , which connects transformations to functions. Then they use transformations and the Pythagorean Theorem to build equations of circles, parabolas, parallel lines, and perpendicular lines from definitions. Students apply these ideas to proofs, such as classifying quadrilaterals. Finally, students use weighted averages to partition segments, scale figures, and locate the intersection point of the medians of a triangle.

  22. Unit 7: geometry homework 3: angle relationship and algebra

We can use algebraic equations to solve for unknown angle measures or to find relationships between angles. For example, let's say we are given that angle A is complementary to angle B, and that angle B is twice as large as angle C. We can write: A + B = 90. B = 2C. We can substitute the second equation into the first equation to get: A + 2C = 90.

  23. Unit 1: Geometry Basics Homework 3: Angle Relationships

    3) Geometry is a branch of mathematics that deals with the measurement of lines and angles. From the diagram shown, we can see that the two lines intersect at a point. The following is therefore true: y = 107° (vertically opposite angle) The sum of z and 107 is supplementary. Hence; z + 107 = 180. z = 180 - 107.
